    We decided to come o...

    We decided to come on short notice, and once again we received warm, attentive hospitality, just like last time. We were able to relax in the lounge with drinks, refresh in the stone sauna in the morning, and enjoy the open-air bath in our Room many times, which helped us unwind. It was so good for a third visit that we felt this is the only Ryokan nearby where we can truly relax. We will definitely visit again.

    A wonderful Accommodation, as always!

    I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve revisited a restaurant or Accommodation I loved on my first visit—thinking “It was delicious! I want to stay again!”—only to end up disappointed, wondering, “Was it always like this?” So this time as well, I honestly came back a bit cautiously. In the end, this is an Accommodation that made me think, “I’m really glad I returned!” From the Shuttle Service to check-in and even during meals, the staff’s hospitality is outstanding. The food is just as delicious as ever (I’m not sure if it’s because we were repeat guests, but we were able to switch the main Wagyu shabu-shabu to other dishes; we chose Wagyu shabu-shabu and simmered sea bream head and bones—both were excellent!). And needless to say, the Onsen is wonderfully silky and relaxing. With service, dining, and Onsen all top-notch, it truly has everything. We were also able to use the Kagoshima accommodation discount program, which made it feel like an incredible value. We stayed three nights in Kagoshima this time, and this was easily the best Accommodation. We’re already looking forward to our next visit.

    Welcome back.

    I stayed here again because I visited last year and loved the Onsen and the food. This time, I stayed in a single Room and was able to relax. As always, the Onsen was wonderful, the food was delicious, and the staff were courteous—I’d like to return again. Time seemed to pass slowly, and I was able to unwind. Thank you very much.

    A wonderful Accommodation with nostalgic scenery and a truly relaxing atmosphere

    This was my first stay here. It was about a one-hour drive from Kagoshima City, where I stayed the night before. On the way, I stopped by Kirishima Onsen to enjoy a day-use bath, and the mountain road to this Ryokan in Satsuma Town offered one breathtaking view after another, so the journey never felt long. The hospitality was wonderful, and the Room was spacious. The guest room had a large rock bath, and the silky-smooth spring water felt amazing on my skin. It was a truly relaxing time, soaking while gazing out at the forest. Dinner featured many dishes; the main course—beef shabu-shabu—was excellent, especially with their homemade sesame sauce. In the evening, I enjoyed complimentary drinks in the lounge and spent a peaceful time there. I also enjoyed the private bath and hot stone sauna—an authentic Onsen indulgence from start to finish. The surrounding scenery felt somehow nostalgic and deeply soothing. It was a lovely Accommodation that I would definitely like to visit again. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

    The First Accommodation of My Solo Trip to Kyushu

    There are only a limited number of Onsen Accommodations that accept solo travelers, but I chose this Accommodation because it allows solo stays and seemed to be highly rated for its cuisine. The Room was more than comfortable, and the meals I had been looking forward to were very satisfying. Since it was a weekday, there were hardly any other guests in the Onsen, so it felt like having it all to myself and was truly relaxing. I would like to visit again if I have the chance.

    It was a heartwarming stay with wonderful hospitality!

    We stayed here to celebrate my partner’s birthday. The staff kindly helped us pick up the birthday cake and prepare the surprise. Thank you as well for bringing out a birthday plate as an extra surprise! We would love to stay here again.

    Thoughtful Accommodation

    We stayed for two nights at the end of March. From arrival and check-in to the meals and in-Room service, we felt thoughtful, attentive care in so many ways. If I wrote specific examples, it might come across as “that’s only to be expected,” so I won’t—but we were able to spend a truly reassuring and heartwarming time. What was especially impressive was that it wasn’t just one particular person; everyone showed their own individuality while providing wonderful hospitality. Since this isn’t a high-end Accommodation in terms of price, I gave it a 4, but my satisfaction level is 100%. When we visit Kagoshima again, we’ll definitely stay with you. Thank you very much.

    An Accommodation you’ll want to come back to.

    In conclusion, it was a wonderful stay that made me think, “I’ll definitely come back.” What impressed me first was the calm atmosphere from the moment I arrived and the staff’s attentive, warm hospitality. Their natural, heartfelt service made me feel truly comfortable. I stayed in Premium Room 218, which had a modern Japanese style and was impeccably maintained down to the smallest details. The Room also has a private free-flowing Onsen bath fed directly from the source, so you can enjoy the Onsen at your own pace. In such a quiet setting, I was able to forget everyday noise and relax deeply—it felt as if time slowed down. And the cuisine I had been looking forward to most exceeded my expectations. Each dish was carefully prepared and truly brought out the quality of the ingredients. Everything looked beautiful, and I was completely satisfied with both the flavors and aromas. Breakfast was also gentle and nourishing, making it easy to start the day feeling refreshed. It’s not only perfect for special occasions—it’s also somewhere you’ll want to visit when you’re feeling a little tired. I would recommend it both for trips with someone important and as a reward for yourself. Thank you for such a genuinely relaxing time.

    The hot spring water quality was excellent, but everything else was disappointing…

    We stayed in Room 102 with a private open-air bath to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday. The Reviews on IKYU were excellent, so we arrived with high expectations, but it was a bit disappointing. What was good... 1) The hot spring water quality was very good. It was silky and left our skin smooth. We also tried the stone sauna, and our skin felt soft and moisturized—it was very relaxing. 2) The Wagyu shabu-shabu at dinner was delicious. It was so tender I could finish it without chewing much. What was disappointing... 1) The amenities felt cheap. There were items like horse-oil shampoo and face wash you might find at a large public bath, and for a Hotel in this price range I expected higher-quality products. 2) Dinner didn’t feel local. To put it bluntly, it felt like something you could eat anywhere. Aside from the Wagyu shabu-shabu mentioned above, there wasn’t anything particularly memorable—everything else was simply fine. 3) The dinner service was disappointing. The pace was too fast, and several times dishes were moved aside even though we hadn’t finished yet. Once is understandable, but it happened about three times, which made us feel rushed. We wanted to take our time and enjoy the meal, so I wish they had noticed that. Also, when we asked for recommendations or pairings for sake or shochu, the staff didn’t seem informed and kept saying they would check each time. It was also disappointing that there wasn’t much explanation of the dishes—we would have liked to enjoy hearing what ingredients were used and what details the chef focused on. 4) Looking at the Facility overall—the souvenir selection, the quality of drinks in the lounge, and some of the decor—there were several areas that felt underwhelming. For a Ryokan in this class, I hope more effort can be put into creating an interior that makes guests want to explore around. I may be writing a bit harshly here, but perhaps we expected too much based on IKYU and Google Reviews. We came all this way to stay in a remote area after reading IKYU Reviews, so it’s hard to shake the feeling of disappointment. We’ve stayed at many Hotels across The whole country and have often been extremely satisfied with Ryokan in this price range—so I truly hope things improve going forward.

    Traveling with My Parents

    Hoping my elderly parents could relax and take their time, I chose this Accommodation for its in-room open-air bath. When we arrived, the ryokan style—beautifully blending Japanese and Western elements—was incredibly comfortable, and it was easy to see why it is so highly rated. The Room’s private open-air bath with free-flowing natural hot spring water was especially wonderful: the crystal-clear water was beautiful, and the gentle mineral quality felt silky on the skin. The temperature was perfect and deeply soothing, and after bathing my skin felt smooth and refreshed. The cuisine was also carefully prepared dish by dish, a delight for both the eyes and the palate, and we enjoyed every bite to our hearts’ content. Above all, seeing how genuinely happy my parents were made me truly glad—we were certain we had chosen the right place, making it a perfect way to show our appreciation.

    A cozy Ryokan with attentive hospitality

    Landing in Kagoshima for the first time and driving a rental car for 40 minutes… Just as I started to worry, thinking, “Huh? It’s deep in the mountains with nothing around,” I found the Accommodation! Seeing all the parked cars was a relief (lol). Though compact, it was an Accommodation with thoughtful attention to detail and so many services that made me think, “This is great.” The Room was very practical and felt like home, and the open-air bath in the Room was amazing—I used it again and again. I also enjoyed the stone sauna, and it was great to be able to compare different shochu at the free lounge. I gave the baths 4 stars because I didn’t feel as impressed by the private bath since the open-air bath in my Room was so good, and because the open-air bath at the public bath was closed due to seasonal conditions—so I’m looking forward to next time. All of the staff were cheerful and courteous, making this Accommodation truly comfortable. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

    This is a Ryokan I’d love to stay at again.

    Because it’s an Accommodation with highly rated Reviews, I was so excited I could hardly sleep at night. After actually staying there, I’d say it was close to perfect in almost every way—except that the Room door was a bit hard to open… If I have the chance to visit Kagoshima again, I’d love to stay here again.

    Relax and recharge at your own pace.

    A calm, peaceful atmosphere helped me feel refreshed and centered. The Kuroge Wagyu shabu-shabu was delicious. Breakfast was even better than before. This time, the room had a private indoor bath, so I could relax and soak at my leisure—the hot spring water quality was excellent.

    It was a fun trip.

    The Onsen was excellent, the Room was spacious, and the bedding was very comfortable. The meals had a Japanese-Western style and were delicious with wine. Although it is not in a tourist area, there is a bus from the airport, which was very convenient. The rice was especially tasty, so breakfast was also outstanding. The service was polite, and I would definitely like to visit again.

    It was an Accommodation where the traditional hospitality of a Ryokan and the best qualities of a Hotel were blended in just the right way. As we stayed on my birthday, they prepared a birthday plate and even performed a heartfelt birthday song, making it a truly memorable stay. They also called us in advance to confirm details, and their attentive service started from that moment. The meals were delicious, with both quantity and quality beyond reproach, leaving us comfortably full. As seniors, overly large multi-dish meals that you can’t finish and end up feeling uncomfortably stuffed can be tough, so we were genuinely satisfied with the dining here. If I had to mention one thing, it would have been perfect if alcoholic drinks during drink time were available from check-in.

    You can enjoy a comfortable stay.

    The creative course meal focused on quality over quantity, with just the right portion size and each dish being incredibly delicious. The semi-private room allowed for a relaxing time without worrying about others. The lounge offered a selection of high-quality free drinks, adding more enjoyment to the stay. Although the public open-air bath was closed during winter, we were able to use the private open-air bath. The stone sauna was also enjoyable for a full hour. The staff were very kind and made our stay pleasant from start to finish.

    This is my second stay.

    Our first stay was in a spacious room with a private open-air bath, and we were very satisfied. For our second stay this time, we stayed in a room without an open-air bath for three people, but it was more spacious and lovely than expected, which lifted our spirits. We were concerned about the crowding of the large public bath, but perhaps because many rooms have private open-air baths, it was not crowded and very comfortable. The stone sauna we tried for the first time this visit was also excellent. All other services were top-notch, with hospitality felt everywhere. The shabu-shabu dinner featured carefully prepared ingredients and was absolutely delicious. Overall, it was an excellent stay that even delighted my elderly parents.

    I had a wonderful solo trip.

    Everything—from the private Onsen to dinner and breakfast—was wonderful, and we became fans of this Facility. From check-in, the staff’s service was excellent, and when we were leaving, they kindly provided Shuttle Service to a nearby station since buses in this area are limited.     It was an accommodation I always wanted to stay at. It did not disappoint; the service and food were excellent. Especially, when I informed them about ingredients I dislike, they prepared them in a different way, and everything was delicious. I would love to stay here again.

    Solo Male Travel: Kyushu Edition

    Every November, I go on an Onsen trip somewhere in Kyushu. This year, it was Kagoshima for the first time in three years. I stayed for one night and two days at Tezuka Ryokan. I reserved a room with an open-air bath. The Onsen, especially the private bath, was very relaxing. The water quality is natural hot spring flow with a smooth texture that feels great on the skin. For meals, I ordered steak as the main dish. It was very filling and delicious. There is also a drink service at the bar with a wide variety of options including shochu. I made a reservation for an esthetic treatment and received 60 minutes of care; however, it was disappointing that the skill level of the therapist was slightly below expectations. Overall, my impression is that this place has great location ambiance, is quiet, and allows you to relax peacefully.

    It was wonderful.

    We stayed here for an anniversary trip. From the moment we arrived, the staff warmly welcomed us, provided detailed explanations, and impressed us with their flexibility and sense of humor. The breakfast portions were generous, and while it was a challenge to finish everything because we wanted to try it all, every dish was absolutely delicious! We stayed for two nights, and both breakfast and dinner on the second day were different from the first day. For dinner on the second night, we were even allowed to choose our preferred menu after finishing our first night's meal—this made us extremely satisfied. The stone sauna, private open-air bath, and free lounge were all fantastic. Above all, we deeply appreciated how attentive and courteous the staff remained throughout our stay—it truly made us happy. This is a Ryokan we'd love to revisit someday!

    The bathroom in the Room was excellent.

    The room's bath was excellent. I thought it was a quiet accommodation for adults, but I was surprised to see families with children spanning three generations.

    Flawless service, high-quality meals, and maximum satisfaction at this accommodation!

    From the moment we were greeted at the bus stop in front of the Railway Museum in the rain, to the exceptional hospitality inside the accommodation and shuttle service back to the bus stop, everything was flawless. The staff's hospitality left us deeply impressed. Having stayed at various accommodations, this one is truly No.1! The meals were outstanding; despite being in a mountainous area, even the sashimi was delicious. We usually have small appetites but ended up finishing every dish because they were so tasty. It’s surprising to find such a wonderful accommodation in such a remote location. Since it was a weekday, we could stay at an affordable price with excellent value for money. If I had to mention anything that caught my attention, it would be that some doors were slightly difficult to open, there were spider webs on some garden trees, and parts of the interior felt a bit dimly lit—but even considering these points, this is an amazing place to stay. Although traveling from Kanto to Kyushu isn’t something we often get an opportunity for, if we visit Kyushu again in the future, this is definitely an accommodation we’d love to return to!

    A Ryokan where you can create the best memories every time you visit.

    This was our third stay at Tezuka Ryokan. For the first time, we stayed in a room on the second floor, and upon entering, we were both soothed by the spacious atmosphere. The room also had a private open-air bath, which we used multiple times. The natural hot spring water made it an incredibly relaxing experience. As always, the staff were exceptionally kind, and the meals were absolutely delicious. This is our number one ryokan to visit again. Thank you for creating such wonderful memories!

    The best Onsen and dining

    I used this accommodation as a gift for my wife's birthday. Having previously experienced the onsen and knowing its excellent quality, I was very excited about staying this time. The hospitality from the welcome was very attentive, and the service was excellent. The meal, part of a special anniversary plan, was luxurious and satisfying with its refined flavors that highlighted the ingredients' natural taste. I would love to use this accommodation again for another special occasion.

    Solo Travel

    Previously, I visited the Onsen for a day trip and always wanted to stay overnight at Tezuka. This time, it was a completely solo trip... The view of the trees from the room, the Onsen, the stone sauna, and the high quality of meals—truly worthy of the Tezuka brand. The hospitality of the staff was exceptional. What healed me most was how different impressions were created during lounge time with changes in BGM between morning and night. Time flowed slowly, allowing me to fully relax. In the morning, a mystical morning mist added to the experience... This has become an accommodation I want to visit regularly. I will definitely return again. Thank you very much!

    I had a wonderful time.

    The staff's hospitality was truly exceptional. The open-air bath in the guest room was amazing. The Room retained its charming traditional features while being beautifully renovated with a focus on Japanese aesthetics, making it a very lovely space. Being welcomed with the aroma of tea was also wonderful. The meals were incredibly delicious, and the pork shabu-shabu was outstanding.
