    This is my third stay. I always enjoy a wonderful accommodation.

    Thank you for your hospitality once again. Although it had been about a year since our last stay, we truly appreciated that you remembered us and even confirmed our meal preferences in advance. My wife and mother requested spa treatments, and they mentioned not only how skillful and relaxing the treatments were but also how they could immediately feel the effects. We enjoy filling the indoor bath in the room with water and alternating between it and the open-air bath, which we always do during our stays. The chef personally came to explain each dish to us, which was very thoughtful. The meals were incredibly diverse, and every dish was delicious. We would love to visit again!

    Relaxing Time

    We enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing time surrounded by beautiful greenery, allowing us to forget the daily hustle. The food was delicious; however, for two seniors with a combined age of 140, the squid rice at the end felt a bit heavy. For this reason, we rated our stay 4 out of 5. That said, we appreciated the creativity and effort put into the other dishes and look forward to visiting again. It was also delightful that the head chef came to greet us personally. We will return!

    This accommodation is perfect for a relaxing time as a couple. This stay was another delightful one-night experience that passed in no time. At night, we could see a few fireflies, and in the morning, the warblers sang beautifully while enjoying the refreshing greenery right in front of us. On top of that, the meals were delicious!

    A Thrill After 60 Years!

    The fireflies I saw in the garden of the accommodation brought back memories of watching them at home during my elementary school days, 60 years ago. I was deeply moved and never thought I could feel this way at my age. I plan to visit again next year. On the morning of checkout, there was a firefly on the lobby window.

    It was truly wonderful!

    This was my second stay after a long time, and it was absolutely wonderful! From check-in to check-out, everything was perfect, and the staff's hospitality was exceptionally polite. The room was clean, and having complimentary drinks in the refrigerator was a delightful touch. The public bath was fantastic, but soaking in the private open-air bath while enjoying the view from the room felt incredibly relaxing. The lounge offering free drinks and ice cream (including Häagen-Dazs!) was also much appreciated. The meals were absolutely delicious! Everything exceeded expectations, leaving me completely satisfied. I would love to stay at this accommodation again. Thank you very much!

    Felt betrayed despite high expectations. Upon arrival, we were asked for our preferred dinner time. When we said 6 PM, the staff informed us it wasn’t available. After suggesting 6:30 PM, they consulted and later replied that 6:30 was also difficult. Why ask for preferences then? We arrived at 2:30 PM, not late by any means. The temperature of the room's private onsen was low, so we mentioned it after dinner. The response was that it’s currently at 41°C but could be adjusted higher if needed; however, adjustments required entering from beside the bath area. The tone felt dismissive and intrusive to have someone enter our room for this reason, so we gave up and used only the indoor bath instead. By morning, the water in the private onsen had turned completely cold and unusable. We specifically chose a room with a private onsen to avoid using public baths due to my husband’s post-surgery condition—this was extremely disappointing. We often stay at another accommodation in Yunohana Onsen but decided to try this one due to its high reviews; unfortunately, it didn’t meet expectations at all. While the head chef greeted us personally and dinner showed creativity, breakfast didn’t suit our taste. The tatami in the room didn’t reflect what you’d expect from a high-end ryokan—it looked worn out with visible stains. Complimentary drinks and snacks in the room as well as quality towels were appreciated; however, due to issues with the private onsen and how they were handled afterward, we won’t be returning again.

    It was a satisfying stay. Thank you very much. The meals, in particular, were meticulously prepared with rich flavors to enjoy. The presentation of the dishes and tableware also delighted the eyes, making the dining experience enjoyable as we anticipated each course. Although the facility felt slightly aged, every corner was well-maintained with thoughtful care, allowing for a comfortable stay. The staff's service struck a perfect balance—not too close yet not too distant—creating a relaxing atmosphere within the accommodation. Thank you for providing such a wonderful retreat.

    I finally had the ch...

    I finally had the chance to stay at SuiSen, located in Yunohana Onsen, Kyoto's hidden retreat that I had been curious about for a long time. The spacious room was well-designed with separate bedroom and living areas, making it very comfortable to relax. The bath was almost perfect, but since it wasn’t a natural hot spring flow system, I’d give it a slight deduction—though this isn’t an issue with the accommodation itself. Both the private bath and large public bath were spacious and enjoyable. The open-air bath attached to the room was at an ideal temperature and I used it multiple times. The meals were kaiseki-style using seasonal ingredients; everything was delicious with just the right portions, leaving me fully satisfied. The facilities within the accommodation included a lounge where soft drinks were available anytime and beautifully arranged displays that added a touch of luxury. Above all, every staff member was polite and maintained just the right level of attentiveness, making my stay very pleasant. While staying in city hotels is often more convenient for sightseeing or dining in Kyoto city center, I would definitely recommend this place to my friends!

    The meals are always...

    The meals are always delicious, and we are very satisfied. My husband especially loves the bath with its unique "Yunohana" smoothness. This time, we stayed to celebrate my birthday and my husband's retirement. The quiet accommodation provided a peaceful and relaxing time, perfect for a mature couple like us.

    Accommodation for Adults

    There are no particular sightseeing spots, so we recommend relaxing at the Ryokan. We visited on March 3 with my mother and daughter. The seasonal cuisine, private bath, and the bath in our Room were wonderful. Thank you for arranging a taxi when the return bus was fully booked. If I may make one request, it would be to have a sauna and cold bath!

    Snowy Kyoto

    We stayed at the accommodation for a three-generation mother-daughter trip. The snowy scenery from the room was beautiful, and the room was equipped with floor heating (even in the washroom!), making it very comfortable. We enjoyed chatting while having drinks and delicious snacks provided in the room. The large public bath was very pleasant, and it was fun to eat ice cream in the lobby lounge after bathing while wearing samue robes. There was a spa service available, which we booked on the day, and it helped us relax deeply—it paired wonderfully with the onsen experience. Dinner was served in a private room, allowing us to enjoy our meal comfortably and deliciously. Breakfast was colorful and complemented perfectly with rice. The hotel staff maintained a perfect balance of attentiveness without being intrusive, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We would love to visit again during another season!

    Relaxation

    This accommodation lives up to its reviews. The room was clean and relaxing, equipped with a ceiling-mounted TV that allowed us to watch programs while lying in bed. The view from the bath offered a charming countryside scenery, and the water temperature was just right for a soothing experience. My wife seemed satisfied with the spa treatment and enjoyed an extraordinary time. The meals were creatively presented, beautifully plated, and absolutely delicious.     It was a great accommodation.

    I stayed for one night to enjoy the Onsen at the start of the new year. I used the large public bath several times, and it was well-maintained with frequent cleaning, making it a pleasant experience. The water temperature was just right. The lobby was clean and spacious, allowing me to relax while enjoying the view of the garden. I also appreciated having a coffee machine available at all times. I would love to visit again!

    A Long-Awaited Return: The Cuisine Has Become Consistently Excellent

    A return visit after a long time. The head chef has changed, and while the cuisine style was unstable for a period, it now seems well-thought-out under the new chef. The hot spring water remains excellent and relaxing. The only disappointment is that upon arrival, there is a staff member who persistently tries to push dinner to start at 5:30 PM. It would be appreciated if guests could freely choose their dining time rather than being guided by the accommodation's convenience. It's unfortunate that my favorite staff member, Ms. O, has left; it's rare to find someone with such refined manners at that level.

    Perfect for a relaxing stay.

    I recently decided to change my accommodation after being disappointed by the decline in food and service at a place I had been repeatedly visiting. This was my first time booking here, and although I was initially anxious, I was thoroughly impressed by the chef's delicate presentation and flavors. The dishes prepared at the table by the chef were enjoyable, and many of the plates used were beautiful, adding to the experience. The same staff member served us for all three days with great care, which was especially appreciated as I was traveling with an elderly companion. This has become an accommodation I'd love to revisit. The room and its private bath were comfortable, quiet, and impeccably clean—perfect for a multiple night stay without venturing out anywhere. Although we didn’t use it this time, there seemed to be a lovely spa available as well. If only the welcome upon arrival had been more attentive or warm, I would have rated everything 5 stars. I am delighted to have found an accommodation worth revisiting!

    Spacious Japanese-Western Room with Open-Air Bath (4th-5th Stay)

    This Ryokan is a favorite for both my wife and me. Until now, we had always stayed in Room 202, but this time we stayed in Room 203 for the first time. The interior was the same, but being closer to the center of the garden provided a better view. The comfort and satisfaction during our stay at the Ryokan were as excellent as ever; however, dinner felt slightly downgraded in terms of ingredient quality. In particular, I noticed that the steak was not up to its usual standard. Given current circumstances, this might be unavoidable. Additionally, my wife ordered the premium sake tasting course with three varieties but found none of them enjoyable at all—it made us wonder if there had been some kind of mistake. On a positive note, breakfast was delicately flavored and very satisfying.

    This was my second stay at the accommodation. The matcha and chestnut wagashi served in the lobby were very delicious. The room was spacious, with three beds, creating a wonderful atmosphere. I enjoyed relaxing in the large public bath and felt very calm soaking in the open-air bath. Dinner was beautifully presented with attention to detail in the tableware, which also stimulated my appetite visually. Every dish had a rich and flavorful taste of dashi broth. I had an enjoyable evening. In the morning, I soaked in the open-air bath attached to my room while enjoying the clear weather after last night's rain. It was truly a relaxing two days. I would love to visit this ryokan again!
