    It was an Accommodation where we could relax at a leisurely pace thanks to the attentive hospitality.

    We arrived in Hikone before check-in time, but we were happy that you came to pick us up at Hikone Station. In front of the large public bath, you had placed nicely chilled tea, which was a great help since I was traveling with my grandchild who drinks tea often. This is a calm, comfortable Accommodation where you can feel the spirit of hospitality everywhere. You prepared private dining rooms for both dinner and breakfast, so we could relax and enjoy the delicious meals with peace of mind even with our preschool-aged grandchild. When my grandchild became sleepy during our stay, you even carried the futon for us—thank you very much for your kindness. As this is a cuisine-focused Ryokan, it met our expectations perfectly, and we were truly impressed by the head chef’s wonderful dishes. Thank you very much.

    As a Ryokan with fin...

    As a Ryokan with fine dining, we arrived with high expectations—and it truly delivered. The many delicious dishes were outstanding, and we were completely satisfied. The atmosphere and furnishings were wonderful as well, making it incredibly relaxing. We would love to stay again.

    It was a charming, old-fashioned Ryokan reminiscent of the good old days.

    A local female attendant looked after us throughout both dinner and breakfast with attentive service. There were no foreign guests, and I truly appreciate their hospitality. The meals were kaiseki-style cuisine made with local ingredients. The sashimi didn’t quite compare to what we have in Fukui Prefecture, but I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the soba from Fukui Prefecture was. The ayu sweetfish and hamo conger eel were also very enjoyable. The bath is well water rather than an Onsen like back home, but it is rich in calcium and left my skin even smoother than an Onsen would.

    Simply the best.

    This was my third stay. This time, I stayed in the new wing for the first time and had in-room dining, which was very relaxing and enjoyable. The meals were, as always, outstanding. The open-air bath here also felt wonderful, and I was able to unwind at a leisurely pace. I’ve already made a Reservation for winter and am looking forward to it.

    Excellent food and a very high level of satisfaction.

    I always book my summer and winter holiday Accommodation through IKYU.com, and this time, Ryokan Yasui was among the very best in terms of overall satisfaction. The cuisine was outstanding. I was also happy that the drink prices at dinner were reasonable. If the bath had been an Onsen, it would have been a perfect 5 out of 5.

    Delicious small-portion kaiseki—excellent!!

    Planning my first trip to Shiga. Traveling with my 80-year-old mother, it was essential to find an Accommodation that serves delicious meals in smaller portions. Yasui fulfilled both perfectly—an outstanding Accommodation. We were extremely satisfied with the cuisine; it may well have been the best we’ve had among the Accommodations we’ve reserved through IKYU! We would love to return.

    Girls’ Trip

    Three of us—female classmates from our school days—stayed at this Accommodation on a trip to Hikone. The cuisine was outstanding and truly delicious. It was full of seasonal character, beautifully presented, and made the most of each ingredient’s natural flavors. Every dish reflected careful, thoughtful craftsmanship. After the meal, the head chef came to greet us, and we were able to fully enjoy cuisine with a personal touch. The staff member in charge of our Room was also wonderful; their warm manner and attentive yet unobtrusive hospitality moved us again and again. One of my friends turned 60 this spring. We hadn’t mentioned it in particular, but they picked up on it from our conversation and added a heartfelt handwritten message to her dessert, and even took photos of her wearing a red celebratory vest… Thanks to these surprise touches, we were able to celebrate in a special way and make unforgettable memories. This Accommodation truly made us realize how much choosing where you stay can transform a trip. Thank you so much for taking such great care of us—we’ll be back!

    A long-established culinary Ryokan renowned for its truly delicious meals.

    While searching for Accommodation on IKYU, I noticed a Review saying, “The food is delicious,” and decided to make a Reservation at an Accommodation in Shiga. When I actually visited, it truly lived up to its reputation—everything was delicious and exceeded my expectations. In the bath, another guest asked, “Is this your first time here?” When I replied that it was, they said it was their third visit. They told me, “Of all the Ryokan I’ve stayed at, the food here is the best—it’s worth coming even from far away.” I completely understood why. Every dish was carefully prepared and wonderful, but what impressed me most was the soba. Despite being very thin, it had a firm bite and an elegant flavor that made me want to savor every mouthful. When staying somewhere for the first time, I usually choose a standard Room, but this one felt more spacious than expected and was very comfortable. From the Room we could look out over an inner garden, and enjoying our meal while taking in that view felt truly luxurious. These days it must be difficult to continue offering in-room dining, but here we were able to relax and enjoy our meal in the Room without worrying about others. The baths were also generously sized for a cuisine-focused Ryokan and included an open-air bath as well—I was able to unwind more than I expected. The delicious food and quiet atmosphere were deeply soothing, making this a stay I could genuinely feel satisfied with. On departure, we learned that this place has over 200 years of history.

    Wonderful

    Although we live in the same prefecture, my spouse and I stayed for one night because we wanted to take our time strolling around Hikone. It was a wonderful Accommodation with attentive care in every detail. Both the kaiseki dinner course and breakfast were delicious, and we enjoyed every bite. Perhaps because there are only a few Rooms, we were able to spend a calm and relaxing time. The service was courteous as well—this was a truly excellent Ryokan that makes you want to return.     A Night of Culinary Delights

    After strolling around Hikone Castle and the old town and encountering Shoki-sama, we stepped through Yasui’s noren swaying in the breeze. Welcomed with warm hospitality from the staff, we enjoyed dinner in a spacious, calm Room surrounded by tasteful furnishings. Every dish was superb—both a feast for the eyes and the palate—and the drinks went down easily. The next morning, breakfast was a lavish Japanese set meal served in a separate Room. The freshly cooked rice and local ingredients were truly delicious.

    An excellent Accommodation with delicious cuisine and attentive service

    An hour and a half by car from home, we’ve found an Accommodation in Shiga that we’d like to visit again. We truly appreciate that you warmly welcomed us even though we arrived about 20 minutes early. The beautifully presented, delicious dishes served one after another and the attentive service were exactly as described in the Reviews, and we were very satisfied with those aspects. Overall, it is a wonderful Accommodation, so I’m sure others have already written about the good points. I’d like to share a few things that concerned us. If possible, I hope these requests can be considered before our next visit. Amenities are not provided in the Room and guests need to pick up what they need (which is not a problem at all), but there was a camera installed above the amenities area with a sign saying something like “Security camera in operation.” I understand your perspective, but it didn’t feel very comfortable. There were no towels in the toilet in our Room. We have stayed at many Accommodations before, but this was the first time there was neither a towel nor paper, and it was genuinely inconvenient. The stool at the washbasin is too low—when sitting down, you can’t see yourself in the mirror at all. Even though you have such a lovely garden, when we tried to go out together there was only one pair of sandals available. Towels (basically 1 bath towel and 1 towel per person) were gladly provided when requested, but having to ask each time felt stressful. It would be helpful if a few extra could be placed from the start. Despite how lovely this Accommodation is overall, these small issues prevented us from truly relaxing. That said, we simply want to experience those dishes again and would love to return in another season.

    As expected from a top-class Ryokan with fine dining!!

    I used this Ryokan for my birthday after seeing an “Anniversary Plan” in an IKYU points cashback sale email. I’ve stayed at many Onsen Ryokan, and for me the meals are always the biggest highlight and a key factor in my rating. Here, the cuisine was so outstanding it may well have been the best I’ve ever had—my wife agreed that it truly lives up to calling itself a fine-dining Ryokan. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, bringing out the natural flavors of the ingredients, and we enjoyed both its originality and delicious taste. The Room and bath were also well maintained and very clean, which was great; however, there were a couple of issues that unfortunately affected my score. In the Room, there was a dusty cord and bag (decoration?) hanging from the alcove pillar. As for the bath, while I understand it is not an Onsen, the shower pressure suddenly became weak at times and was not stable—something I hope will be improved. I would like to visit again in a different season.

    Overall, satisfied.

    This was my fourth stay. As always, the meals were outstanding. The choice of ingredients and seasoning were flawless—this is honestly what I come for. From this visit, the Shuttle Service was also available, which I really appreciated. Even though my schedule moved up by an hour, they handled it courteously. However, there was a pump malfunction, and the bath water temperature on the day of arrival was low, which was disappointing. Given the chance, I would like to stay here again in the future.

    As its name suggests, this Ryokan offers a truly satisfying dining experience.

    As a reward for reaching our 50s, this was a commemorative trip with classmates. For the second night of our adults-only getaway, we chose your property hoping for a slightly luxurious meal and a relaxing time. Everything met our expectations, and we were able to create the best memories. For us—who have spent decades traveling around in search of great food—the delicious dinner and breakfast were the greatest joy. They became unforgettable flavors and unforgettable memories.     The food was very delicious.

    This was my first stay here. As the Reviews said, the food was excellent and I was very satisfied. However, at the time of Reservation, checkout was listed as 11:00, and my Reservation also showed 11:00. On the day of checkout, I was told, “It’s past the time, so please get ready.” Even after I explained the time shown at booking, I was told, “The checkout time has changed, so please leave as soon as you’re ready,” and it felt like we were being rushed out. If the checkout time had been changed, wasn’t there any plan to follow up with guests who had already booked under the previous time? We even received a pre-stay confirmation call in advance, so I wish this had been mentioned then. Regarding the Facility: in the large public bath, the shower would periodically stop running. It seems like there may be an issue with the plumbing; I’m not sure whether staff are unaware or it has simply been left unresolved, but it was confusing at first. Also, there were no bags or baskets provided for taking items to the bath. Because the food was so good, it’s a shame that this ended up being a somewhat disappointing stay.

    I was blown away by the private dining room.

    The meal was excellent, truly living up to its reputation as a kappo restaurant. Our whole family was very satisfied. Not only was the food outstanding, but we were also amazed by the unique interior design of the private dining room. From the moment we were welcomed at the entrance by a red suit of armor, it felt like a special experience. We would love to visit again. Our sincere thanks to the head chef and all staff for their attentive service.

    A Relaxing Moment for Couples

    It was a calm and relaxing Accommodation. The meals used seasonal local ingredients, and everything tasted wonderful. You could feel the care put into each dish. The bath was very clean, the water felt soft, and it kept me warm for a long time. I will definitely come again.

    Applause for the Head Chef

    From the warm hospitality to the beautiful lighting throughout the Accommodation (it may look dark in photos, but it felt completely different in person). I’ve stayed at many luxury Accommodations, but Yasui was spotless down to every last detail. Above all, the quality of the cuisine is simply breathtaking!! The flavors are truly exceptional. I even heard someone in a private room next door say, “This— isn’t it unbelievably good?” The head chef has truly godlike skill and taste! I’m so glad I found this Accommodation!

    The food was outstanding! Considering our age, we chose the smaller-course meal and thought it might not be enough, but we were completely satisfied. Even though there are some steps inside the building, there are lifts and carts available to borrow, which was a thoughtful touch. All of the staff were truly kind, and we had a very comfortable stay. If I had to mention one thing, perhaps we simply used too many, but we would have been happier with a few more towels. We were also impressed by the eco-friendly hand towels in the restrooms.

    As a Ryokan with a traditional restaurant, the meals are, of course, outstanding. The Room is spacious, and the attentive service from the staff feels unique to a restaurant-style Ryokan. There were also guests with children, but it was very quiet and relaxing.

    The meals are excellent!

    I finally had the chance to stay at “Ryokan Yasui,” a place I’d been wanting to visit for a long time. Of all days, the strongest cold wave of the season hit on my Reservation date. With expressway restrictions, I gave up driving and made my way to Hikone Station by connecting Shinkansen and local trains running on disrupted schedules. Since I couldn’t predict my arrival time due to delays, I didn’t request a pickup and walked to the Accommodation instead. As soon as I arrived and passed under the noren at the gate, the front garden leading to the entrance was beautifully covered in snow—I couldn’t help but gasp. From check-in onward, the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. The building and my Room were spacious and full of charm, making it a calm, adults-only style Accommodation where I could truly relax. The garden outside my Room was also a snowy scene, and I even got to enjoy an unexpected open-air bath with falling snow—this cold wave turned out not so bad after all. Above all, both dinner and breakfast were outstanding. As expected of a Ryokan with fine dining roots, every dish was carefully prepared using selected seasonal ingredients, and each one was genuinely delicious. Most memorable was how wonderful the dashi base was—so comforting it felt like it soaked into me. Overwhelmed with emotion (to the point of tears), I ended up standing up reflexively when the head chef came by to greet me (laugh). I love traveling—and great food—and have stayed in many places over the years, but among Japanese-cuisine Accommodations I’ve visited before, this one is by far gold-medal level! It will be a wonderful memory during the Milan Olympics period. The day after my stay, they kindly stored my luggage at reception while I visited Genkyuen Garden at Hikone Castle. They even drove me there out of concern for walking on snowy roads, which helped so much. Enjoying that beautifully snow-covered garden almost entirely to myself was deeply satisfying. Thank you very much for everything.

    As soon as we arrive...

    As soon as we arrived at the parking lot, someone came to greet us. They offered to carry our luggage, so I asked them to take just one item. When I tried to take a photo, they kindly offered to take it for us, but after that they did not carry the luggage and I carried it myself. Since other guests were arriving as well, several staff members came out to greet us, and I was concerned that their kimono had many stains. It was difficult to walk on the garden stones up to the entrance, and I would have felt more at ease if we had been guided via the route from the road right next to it. At the time we requested for dinner, only a tray arrived first, and it took quite a long time for the dishes to be served. The person bringing both dinner and breakfast seemed out of breath, which worried me. At checkout, we were told that an optional charge had not been paid. When we asked them to confirm, another staff member also clearly said twice that it had not been paid; however, in the end it turned out that it had been paid. We were also told there would be a gift if we filled out a questionnaire; we submitted it but did not receive anything. Since we had plans afterward as well, this delay was disappointing. I felt there may be operational issues due either to management difficulties or understaffing. When operations are not running smoothly, it shows in staff expressions and in the overall atmosphere of the Facility. We truly felt glad we chose this place for such an important day, but that feeling was shattered at departure. That said, overall I think it is a wonderful place, and I sincerely hope you will continue for many years and that our paths may cross again in the future.

    It was very quiet, the bath was clean and at just the right temperature, and what impressed me most was the food. Each dish was carefully prepared with great care—beautifully presented, delicate, and full of color. The flavors were wonderful, with a rich dashi that really stood out. In particular, being able to enjoy handmade soba made this trip truly satisfying.

    You’ll have an amazing time.

    From the moment we arrived at the Accommodation until we left, we truly felt heartfelt hospitality. With its historic elements and well-maintained areas, and the meticulous care given to every detail, it is a truly wonderful space. The bath is not overly ornate; with its calm atmosphere and lighting, it is genuinely soothing. The chilled tea available right after you step out was excellent. The meals were beautifully presented and delicious—exactly what you would expect from an Accommodation worthy of being called a dining Ryokan. Three generations—grandmother, grandchild, and us—stayed here, and we definitely want to return. We are truly grateful to everyone at the Ryokan.
