    A Heartwarming Accommodation

    I stayed here with my 99-year-old mother during the Obon period in August, and it was a truly wonderful Accommodation that will stay in our hearts. The meal—above all—the owner’s handmade soba was outstanding. It looked cool and beautifully presented, and we could tell it would be delicious even before taking a bite. Thank you for the wonderful meal! At the intimate concert, the owner and a folk singer passionately performed “Azusa No. 2,” and we lost track of time while sharing such a warm moment with the other guests. I hope more Accommodations like this—kind and welcoming to those who need care, such as wheelchair users—will become available. Thank you very much for everything; we are truly grateful.

    Despite the affordable price, we were very satisfied with both the food and the service.

    I stayed here because it is close to Kissei Hall, where the Seiji Ozawa Matsumoto Festival was held. The food was delicious, the private bath was great (and free), and both the Onsen and the service were excellent. On top of that, the price was reasonable, so I was very satisfied.

    Hospitality Ryokan

    Everything was excellent. The hostess’s hospitality was especially wonderful. The staff also kindly introduced us to local spots and were very helpful, so we were able to fully enjoy Nagano. The Onsen was very relaxing, and the meals were truly delicate, beautifully presented, and delicious throughout. There was no excessive service like at a luxury Ryokan, which made it very comfortable. We would love to stay again when we visit Matsumoto.

    The food was delicio...

    The food was delicious no matter what we tried, and the tableware was stylish as well. The portions were just right, and it was thoughtful that there were additional menu options. The evening mini concert was interactive and fun. The Room and bath were thoroughly cleaned, making our stay very comfortable.

    Your First Visit to Asama Onsen

    It was an Onsen conveniently located near the Matsumoto Interchange and easy to reach by car. Both the baths and the meals were excellent. The quince juice after the bath was especially delicious.

    This was our second ...

    This was our second stay, following our visit in April. I truly love everything about this Accommodation—the open, private Onsen and the open-air bath in the Room. Above all, I love the meals. My child kept saying, “So delicious!!” and even said it’s their favorite place ever. In this hot season, starting with chilled udon was also a great touch. The soft drink selection was helpful too—from classic cola to options like grape and apple that my 5-year-old (who doesn’t like carbonation) really enjoyed. Thank you as well for accommodating my request of “I’d like to eat shrimp.” This time we also joined the tempura buffet—everything was delicious, but the corn tempura in particular was outstanding. So sweet! And I’m sorry—I couldn’t resist having rice with the meat, so I ended up stealing some of my child’s rice and enjoyed it very much. The very back table in “Milky Way” was also extremely helpful for us with a child. We’re very sorry for how noisy our children can be, but we would love to stay again.

    It was very good.

    Located near the entrance to the Onsen town, so it was easy to find. After arriving, we enjoyed strolling around the Onsen town and visiting a nearby bakery and tofu shop that the Hotel staff recommended. The meals were delicious. These days we worry about bears in the mountains, so staying in an Onsen area in town felt safe and reassuring. We stayed as a couple, but since we both wanted to rest quietly, it was great that we could make a Reservation for one Room each.

    It was a wonderful Onsen.

    The Onsen was wonderful and very relaxing. I’m glad we were able to use the private bath as well. One disappointing point was that the repairs to the women’s large public bath outdoor bath felt questionable. The meals were delicious, too. We stayed in a Room with a massage chair, so along with the Onsen, all our fatigue melted away.

    A class reunion at the site of our first Inter-High in 50 years

    We stayed here for a reunion at the place where we competed as the Mie Prefecture basketball team for the first time in 50 years, and everyone was extremely satisfied with both the Onsen and the meals. We are also grateful to the proprietress and all the staff for their warm hospitality. (The strawberry smoothie was delicious.) We plan to visit again soon with our family, and we look forward to seeing you then. Thank you very much.

    I had a comfortable and worry-free stay.

    This was a trip for three of us celebrating our 70th birthdays. As someone with a disability, I always pay close attention to accessibility and meals when choosing an Accommodation. We chose Tamano-yu because they provided clear information about their barrier-free facilities. The property is well equipped with handrails and other features, so we were able to stay comfortably and with peace of mind. It was the first time we had stayed at an Accommodation making such efforts, and we truly appreciated it. The meals were also delicious, and we were very satisfied. If we have the chance, we would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

    It was really great.

    We stayed in a Room for four! It was barrier-free. The Room was bright and very clean! The food was excellent, of course! All the staff who served us were very kind and pleasant, and we felt truly comfortable. They even wiped our car windows when we left— thank you for the wonderful service. We’d love to visit again.

    A Warm and Welcoming Accommodation

    It’s been a long time since I last visited Matsumoto. I stayed at Tamanoyu with my parents more than 20 years ago. The atmosphere felt different from back then, but the Japanese-modern style is wonderful. This time, my husband and I stayed together. The Room, baths, and meals were all excellent. Unfortunately, I wasn’t feeling well and couldn’t eat much of the thoughtfully prepared cuisine. However, by the time we left, I had recovered considerably thanks to the benefits of the Onsen. The warmth of the wood and the traditional Japanese ambiance were truly soothing. It’s an Accommodation that makes you want to come back again.

    Thank you for your warm hospitality during our stay. We were very satisfied with our Accommodation. What we liked: - We really appreciated the excellent services for children. Having kids’ samue loungewear available and child-friendly meal options was a big help. - We loved the open-air bath in our Room and enjoyed it many times. - Although the building and Room show their age, everything was kept spotlessly clean, so we were very comfortable. - Every dish was outstanding! Not only dinner, but even the miso soup at breakfast was delicious—we liked it so much that we bought some miso to take home. - The concert was wonderful, and we had a relaxing time. If I had to mention anything: - Regarding the dining area, we visited with the impression of semi-private rooms based on the photos on your website, but in reality it was partitioned with roller screens, so it felt a little different from what we expected (we were traveling with a child, so perhaps you kindly seated us further inside). The food itself was excellent. - We couldn’t find shower caps in either our Room or the large public bath (sorry if we simply missed them), so it would be even better if they were provided. Thanks to you, we had a truly enjoyable trip. When we visit Matsumoto again, we would definitely consider staying here. Thank you very much!

    I could really feel ...

    I could really feel the history in the Room, but I thought it was a wonderful Accommodation!! First of all, the food was delicious!! The sashimi served salad-style was unusual, but I enjoyed it so much. The meat and soba were all delicious!! The meat was so good that having rice as well would have made it even better (lol). (The meal was the soba Plan.) And the buffet-style pickles at dinner were way too good!! This also made me want to ask for extra rice. My child accidentally spilled miso soup and it got on the food, but they kindly remade it for us… I could have cried. Also, the private open-air bath was spacious and great. (Going in while it was raining is a good memory too.) When we left, they even wiped our car windows… I was truly impressed by their hospitality. If I had to say one thing, I wanted to try the tempura buffet too… (Of course, even without tempura everything was delicious and we were completely full.)

    Warm, heartfelt hosp...

    Warm, heartfelt hospitality, delicious meals, and a wonderful hot bath—this was a lovely Accommodation. We were completely satisfied! Singing and dancing along with the mandolin concert was so much fun and became a great memory. Thank you for the photos. We’d love to visit again in a different season.

    The meals and the quality of the hot spring water were excellent!

    I stayed for one night with a friend. Perhaps it was the quality of the Asama Onsen water, but it felt silky and left my skin soft and supple, and I also felt refreshed after getting out. It was also nice to be able to enjoy quince juice and Enmei tea after the bath. All of the meals were delicious, and the salad and pickle bar, as well as the tempura freshly fried by the proprietress, were wonderful touches. If I had to mention one thing, the bed firmness didn’t quite suit me, but overall it was a very satisfying Accommodation. Thank you very much.

    A very lovely Hotel

    Thank you very much for your wonderful service! Although we stayed for only one night, we were able to have a great time thanks to you. The Hotel staff were extremely kind and courteous. As for the Onsen, we used both the large public bath and the private bath, and both were very pleasant; everything was thoroughly cleaned and well maintained. It was also convenient that bath towels were available in the large public bath, so we didn’t need to bring them from our Room. We also appreciated having a small basket in the Room to carry items to the bath, so we didn’t need to take our own bag, which was very convenient. The Room had a wonderful atmosphere—a lovely modern Japanese-style space. The air conditioning worked well, and with the in-house loungewear provided throughout the Hotel, we were able to stay comfortable. All of the meals were delicious, and we could really feel the attention paid even to details like the tableware. The soba noodles and tempura were especially excellent, and we would love to come back just to enjoy them again. In addition, there was a sign language performance event held on the first floor at night; it was very enjoyable and became a great opportunity for us to learn about sign language—an excellent experience. Once again, thank you very much. We would love to stay with you again.

    The anticipation makes it even more special...

    The temperature of the Onsen was just right, neither too hot nor too cold, making it one of the most comfortable Onsen experiences I've had. The long operating hours also made it convenient to enjoy at any time. However, the private open-air bath was quite cold as the changing area was outside. It was disappointing that there were no washing areas or buckets available. I was really looking forward to the meals as well. While having a private dining room was nice, it felt very chilly inside as the heating didn’t seem sufficient, and I had to borrow a blanket. The intervals between courses were long, making the wait feel extended. Additionally, I wanted to try various drinks but found myself not enjoying them much due to this pacing issue. The staff providing service were kind and attentive; however, overall there were many aspects that felt lacking. Paying attention to finer details and adopting more customer-focused measures could greatly enhance the experience in my opinion.

    Excellent, especially the meals.

    The meals were delicious. Each appetizer was carefully prepared, and the steamed dishes, sashimi, and soba were particularly excellent. The homemade pickles by the hostess were delightful, and the enzyme brown rice served at breakfast was a pleasant touch. The only downside in terms of service was that refills for drinks took some time, and I felt it would be better if trays were consistently used when serving dishes. The private open-air bath was available for free, and overall, I was very satisfied with my stay.

    It was a lovely barrier-free accommodation.

    I stayed with my wheelchair-bound mother. The restroom was spacious, allowing wheelchair access, and equipped with handrails, making it safe and convenient to use. The meals were delicious and very satisfying. At check-in, we were disappointed to hear that a special dish we wanted was sold out, but during dinner, they kindly prepared it for us, and we were deeply touched by their warm hospitality. The evening concert was wonderful, with everyone performing beautifully, and we were captivated. The Onsen was relaxing, and the room was new and clean. After check-out, we were recommended a nearby shop, which turned out to be excellent. We bought handmade cakes and fruits to take home, and they were incredibly delicious. Overall, Asama Onsen left a very positive impression. Thank you!

    We were satisfied with both the accommodation and the food!

    I stayed at this recommended barrier-free accommodation, and the family bath and room design were thoughtfully considered for wheelchair users. I always use barrier-free accommodations, but I have never stayed at an accommodation as user-friendly for wheelchair users as this one. Ease of use may vary depending on individual disabilities, but I would like to stay here again. The mini-concert by a local singer held from 8:30 PM was also enjoyable.

    This was my first visit to Asama Onsen. Although it was a rainy day, the staff kindly moved our car, allowing us to enter the accommodation without getting wet. After check-in with a welcome drink, our luggage had already been brought to the room, which was very helpful. The room was a twin room with just the right amount of space. The large public bath was well-maintained and clean, with no trash, making for a pleasant bathing experience. Both the indoor and outdoor baths had handrails installed, and chairs were provided in the washing area—a thoughtful touch for elderly guests or those with physical disabilities. For dinner, we enjoyed kaiseki cuisine along with stewed carp upon request; it was tender enough to eat even the bones and tasted mild yet delicious. The buffet-style pickles and salads were also delightful. Breakfast featured dishes made from fermented ingredients designed to energize your body; everything had a subtle sweetness that I thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you for calling in advance about allergies or other concerns—it allowed us to travel worry-free!

    The food was delicious.

    Thank you for your hospitality. The meals, both dinner and breakfast, had a handmade touch to each dish and were delicious. The room was a corner room on the top floor with a panoramic view of Matsumoto City, offering beautiful night scenery. The private Onsen bath in the room was fantastic, and I enjoyed it multiple times. However, it seems that the early check-in arrangement was not communicated among the staff.

    Beer is always the best, isn't it?

    The room and service were above standard and enjoyable, and the food was reasonably delicious. However, the beer I ordered during this hot season was not cold! The mug wasn’t frosty, and the beer tasted like it was at room temperature... It was a first-time experience for me with beer.

    The meals were absolutely delicious.

    We stayed in the most standard room this time, but the meals were all very delicious, featuring some ingredients we tried for the first time. The main dish of Shinshu beef was served as puff pastry-wrapped beef stew and bite-sized steak, both tender and flavorful. The staff's service was pleasant and satisfying. The daily entertainment corner featured flamenco and guitar performances, which we initially thought might be louder but turned out to be enjoyable at a perfect scale. Before departure, they even wiped our car windows for us. It had been a while since we stayed at an onsen ryokan, but we were highly impressed with Nagano's hospitality.

    The essential bath and meals at the Onsen Hotel were excellent. In addition to the large public bath on the first floor, there was a private bath on the fifth floor, allowing us to enjoy both. The meals featured an abundance of seafood and mountain delicacies, exceeding our expectations in taste. The beef served during dinner was particularly tender and delicious, leaving a lasting impression. I look forward to visiting again next time.

    Perfect for seniors

    The cuisine is excellent, with individual servings for each guest, while salads and other items are offered in a buffet style. The use of ceramic tableware is lovely. Combining both styles is a great idea, especially as buffets may not be ideal for older guests. The Room has been renovated and is clean, featuring a design that accommodates guests with physical disabilities.
