    Everything was excellent.

    The view of Mount Yufu was wonderful. Everything was satisfying. It became a great trip to celebrate my 60th birthday.

    The staff members were all from abroad, but their service was very polite and just right, making the stay very comfortable. The food was made with high-quality ingredients and was enjoyable both in taste and presentation!

    I had a relaxing time.

    I stayed here with my daughter this time. Since we were sightseeing, it was a bit disappointing that dinner time was limited to 6:30 PM. Most of the staff were from overseas, but they were polite, spoke excellent Japanese, and perfectly explained the complex meal details. When I mentioned we would be sightseeing in Yufuin the next day, they kindly marked recommendations on a map by hand—such warm hospitality! The meals were wonderful, and the pottery used was so exquisite that I couldn't help but admire it. The bath is a natural hot spring with an incredible view of Mount Yufu right in front of you! The Room was clean and comfortable. However, I wished there had been towels in the sink area and adjustable lighting near the bed. The geta sandals were charming but hurt my feet while walking. While staying in a detached room is lovely, it might be challenging for those with mobility issues. After checking out and being kindly dropped off at the station, I realized I had forgotten some clothing items. They went out of their way to deliver them to Yufuin Station's information counter—such impressive coordination! Yufuin is truly amazing! If you're looking for a luxurious trip experience, I highly recommend this place.

    Highly Satisfied

    The open-air bath and the cuisine were both wonderful, but what left the deepest impression was the heartfelt hospitality of the foreign staff. Their Japanese was polite, and their smiles and attentiveness felt so natural. I was truly moved by their approach to service, carefully observing our needs and responding accordingly. Making a once-in-a-lifetime encounter during a trip this comfortable is truly remarkable. Each dish was meticulously prepared and absolutely delicious. The sirloin steak was also a feast for the eyes! (Though as an older guest, I would have appreciated filet more—haha.) The bath with views of Mount Yufu was incredibly relaxing, and the presence of such dedicated staff made this accommodation even more special. Thank you very much!

    Excellent staff service, cuisine, and amenities

    This was my third visit, and this time I stayed in Kunugi. The indoor and open-air baths had perfect water temperatures, and I enjoyed multiple soaks. I believe it was around the same time last year when I visited as well, and I had the pleasure of reconnecting with the very friendly foreign staff members, making for a relaxing stay. Of course, the Japanese staff were also wonderful, serving us a delicious breakfast. The highlight was definitely dinner—while it has always been excellent from the start, the volume and taste of Bungo beef and Oita chicken served later in the meal were beyond impressive. Even for two big eaters like us, we couldn’t finish it all that night; they kindly prepared it for us to enjoy at breakfast instead—and that too was exceptional. With no complaints whatsoever, we left the accommodation just before 11 AM feeling completely satisfied.

    The bathroom in the Room is

    The water was slightly lukewarm, and it required adding a significant amount of hot water to make it comfortable. While the lack of a reheating function is understandable, it took quite some time in the morning to make the bath usable as most of the water had turned cold. Considering it's already May, though still chilly, this was a bit disappointing. On the other hand, the meals were visually stunning and absolutely delicious—nothing short of perfect. The view from the Room was also spectacular, providing an excellent escape from daily life. I would love to visit again!

    It was an accommodation beyond our expectations.

    The room amenities, onsen, and the view of Mount Yufu from the room were amazing. The food was especially outstanding, exceeding expectations with each dish carefully prepared and featuring excellent dashi. Additionally, the explanations for each dish were detailed and wonderful. I couldn't finish the wagyu beef, so it was prepared with refreshing ponzu sauce the next morning, which was delicious. I have made a reservation for autumn to enjoy seasonal dishes again.

    Excellent

    I chose Ryunohige to fully enjoy Mount Yufu and be moved by the meals, and it was absolutely the right choice. The morning mist is stunning, especially in winter. In summer, the fresh greenery is beautiful, and thanks to its elevated location, you can enjoy a dry and comfortable stay without feeling humidity. In autumn, you can admire the colorful leaves, making this accommodation perfect for any season. At night, I thought it would be completely dark, but it's beautifully lit up so you can enjoy breathtaking views anytime. The staff are wonderful; I was mainly assisted by people from Vietnam and Nepal who provided warm and attentive service. As someone who loves hearing about local stories from others' homelands, I asked them many questions—they cheerfully shared their hometown's charm with me! It was delightful to learn about different parts of the world through them. I highly recommend trying their delicious highball drinks! I'd love to see the view from other rooms as well next time if given another opportunity to visit. Thank you so much for making my first trip to Oita truly unforgettable!

    I was very intereste...

    I was very interested in the luxurious plan on IKYU.com and made a reservation this time. I stayed in a room with an open-air bath and a semi-open-air bath, which my elderly mother was delighted to use comfortably. We enjoyed delicious ingredients, including Oita beef, and were very satisfied. Thank you for the thoughtful service.

    Relax in a quiet accommodation.

    I stayed with my elderly mother and had a wonderful time. While the area around the station felt crowded due to inbound tourism, the accommodation is located slightly away from town, and each room is in a separate building, allowing for a calm and quiet stay. From the terrace and the onsen in our room, we could see Mount Yufu, enjoying its changing appearance over time while relaxing. My mother was delighted and enjoyed soaking in the onsen multiple times. The meals were all delicious—the vegetables were crisp and sweet, and the meat was outstanding! The chicken was also very tasty. Additionally, the staff from overseas were incredibly kind and charming. Thank you very much!

    Impressed by the thoughtful attention!

    I had an amazing stay at Ryunohige Villa and enjoyed the best time! The charm of this ryokan lies not only in its beautiful scenery and facilities but also in the warm hospitality of the staff. I was especially impressed by the courteous and kind service provided by the foreign staff, whose heartfelt care went beyond words. The "Kogomi" room where I stayed was incredibly comfortable, making me feel as if I were relaxing in my own private villa. The room featured a water server, allowing me to enjoy fresh water anytime—a delightful touch. The private open-air onsen was absolutely fantastic, offering a luxurious experience of enjoying onsen at any time without interruption. This exclusive indulgence is truly priceless. Additionally, having two baths in the room meant plenty of bath towels were provided—a thoughtful detail that added to my comfort. One particularly memorable moment was when I ordered Yufuin cider through room service. Not only did they bring it promptly, but they also served it with chilled glasses filled with ice—such attentive care! These small yet meaningful gestures reflect the high level of hospitality this ryokan offers. Everything about my stay was perfect and allowed me to fully relax and unwind. Surrounded by Yufuin's stunning nature and experiencing such warm hospitality unique to this place makes me eager to return again soon. Thank you so much for an unforgettable experience!

    It will create a wonderful journey for you.

    I don't usually write reviews, but this property was so wonderful that I felt compelled to. First, the customer service. I also work in customer service, and there was so much to learn from them. They maintain a perfect balance of distance and friendliness. The phrase "anticipating every need" perfectly describes their customer-first approach. There were many foreign staff members, but they were excellent! Their training is thorough. I experienced so much hospitality that I can't even describe it all here. I will visit again from Tokyo.

    Stays with smiling hospitality and delicious cuisine

    During our first trip to Oita, we stayed here the day after staying in Beppu. Upon arrival by car, we were greeted by a charming staff member from overseas. Despite being petite, she carried our large luggage down the long stairs to our room. All rooms are separate, so we hardly encountered other guests. With an onsen in the room, we were able to relax quietly. We were also pleased with the quality of the onsen water. As for the meals, both the dinner course and breakfast were delicious. The dinner course featured a generous portion of Oita beef steak, which made us, as meat lovers, very happy. Each dish was wonderfully crafted and we were extremely satisfied. The overseas female staff member who served our meals was very attentive and considerate, with excellent Japanese skills, which was impressive. All the overseas staff members interacted with us with smiles, which was very touching. Thank you for taking care of us. We appreciate it and will visit again if we have the opportunity.

    It was a spectacular view!

    The view of Mount Yufu from the Room was spectacular, and we could also see the sunrise peeking from Mount Yufu. The Room was clean and beautifully decorated with flowers, making it a comfortable stay. The meals were very delicious, and the service was attentive and courteous.

    It has become my favorite Stays.

    This was my first stay, and I was well taken care of. The meals were simply wonderful! The dinner was hearty, beautifully presented in lovely dishes, and of course, delicious, providing satisfaction from the visual appeal as well. I also enjoyed the Onsen multiple times, which allowed me to truly relax. The staff member in charge of our meals was from abroad and provided detailed explanations for each dish, handling everything with a lovely smile, making it a highly satisfying trip. All the staff members I met were wonderful! This is an excellent property that heals both the tired mind and body.

    Thank you for your patronage.

    The view from the room was nice. However, unlike many luxury stays nowadays, there were no welcome drinks or greetings from the head chef, and it would have been better with a little extra hospitality. It was a bit disappointing that there was no bell at the dining area, and we had to call the staff when needed.

    A property you can confidently recommend to others.

    The view of Mount Yufu from the open terrace is superb. On the first day, I enjoyed the scenery bathed in the sunset, and on the second day, I woke up early to enjoy the sunrise while relaxing in the open-air bath. There is a spacious semi-open-air bath and a Goemon bath, and despite the lack of a large public bath, I enjoyed it so much that one night was not enough. As for the meals, not only the main meat dish but also the appetizers, salads, and snacks were all delicious and truly satisfying. I was surprised by how delicious the sashimi of sea bream and amberjack was. I was also pleased to find that the room was equipped with yukata, pajamas, and bathrobes.

    The rest depends on the weather.

    I was expecting a view of Mount Yufu from the room and the bath, but unfortunately, the weather was bad and I couldn't see it. Other than that, the service, facilities, and meals were all impeccable, and I thought it was worth the price!

    Great location, but the meals...

    A wonderful location where you can view Mount Yufu from the room's terrace or the private bath. However, the meals are disappointing. You grill 200g of Oita Wagyu ribeye and chicken yourself. If there's any left, it's served for breakfast the next day. Coming to a luxury onsen property and being served meat like an all-you-can-eat buffet, only to eat it the next day, is disappointing. For travelers over sixty, it would be more pleasing to have 70g of Wagyu fillet or matsutake mushrooms grilled for them. When I asked, I was told that most people can't finish it and it's served the next morning. Is this property exclusively for those in their 20s or 30s?

    We stayed for one night starting Sunday for a trip with friends, and it turned out to be a very satisfying journey with the shuttle service from the station, the room, the onsen, and unexpectedly luxurious meals. The staff's courteous service made us want to visit this property again.

    Wonderful accommodation

    We used this place to commemorate my husband's retirement. We were very lucky to make a reservation four days in advance, even though it's usually difficult to book. We stayed in the "Hinoki" room. The room, service, bath, and meals were all the best hospitality. The bath was unique with iron-rich water. The meals were in a completely private room, so we could enjoy our meal without hearing other people's conversations. The wagyu beef was especially exquisite. We were grateful that the leftover meat was cooked for breakfast. Everyone who took care of us had wonderful smiles, and the service from welcome to farewell was perfect. It became a great memory.

    A Lovely Inn Found in Yufuin

    We stayed at Bettei Yumuta with two families in two rooms. If the weather had been clear, we would have had a perfect view of Mount Yufu from the rooms and the private hot springs, but unfortunately, it was covered by clouds, and we couldn't see the summit. The hot spring water, rich in iron and reddish-brown, was on the cooler side, so it didn't immediately warm us to the core, but it was perfect for leisurely soaking multiple times. The dinner was excellent, but the highlight was the large, thick marbled beef, comparable to a steak, which we grilled ourselves. It was undoubtedly the best in both quality and quantity among the beef we've been served at any accommodation we've stayed at. There were two plates for the two families, but one plate was left over and served as grilled meat for breakfast the next morning. Naturally, the breakfast was also very satisfying. We enjoyed delicious meals in nature, soaked in the hot springs as much as we wanted, and were able to relax thoroughly.

    I would like to stay again.

    I stayed in a room called "Kunugi." The facilities, view, hot springs, service, and meals in the morning and evening were all excellent. The food, in particular, was wonderful, delicious, and very filling. The price is on the high side, but it was a satisfying stay. I definitely want to stay at this inn again.

    The hospitality, cuisine, hot springs, and location were all top-notch at this inn! The staff's smiles and heartfelt hospitality from welcome to farewell were truly soothing. Every dish at dinner was delicious, and I was particularly impressed by the tenderness of the meat. I was also very grateful that they kindly prepared breakfast despite my sudden request. The view from the Kaede room and the Goemon bath became wonderful memories. The sunrise over Mount Yufu was incredibly beautiful, making it an inn I definitely want to visit again.
