    A Hotel You'll Want to Visit Again

    The hotel was busy but pleasantly quiet, and the bath was always available for private use, allowing for a relaxing experience. The meals, both Japanese and Western, were beautifully presented with a seasonal touch. The room provided pajamas in three sizes, which were comfortable to wear. All the staff greeted us with warm smiles, and the shuttle service driver made the journey enjoyable with friendly conversation. I would love to visit again for another relaxing stay.

    Third Stay

    I took a 3-day, 2-night workation after finishing up some work. This was my third stay at the Hotel, as I visit once a year. On the drive back, I reflected on why this place is so captivating—the efficient and professional staff, the delicious and carefully prepared Western and Japanese cuisine, the relaxing Onsen, and the breathtaking view of Mount Bandai with no man-made structures in sight. Once again, I truly felt refreshed during this stay. If my schedule allows it next year, I would love to visit again. Thank you to all the staff!

    It was a wonderful time.

    I stayed with my elderly parents, making it a group of three. We chose Japanese cuisine for both dinner and breakfast, which was delicious and served in just the right portions. The open-air bath with a panoramic view of Mount Bandai and the lake right in front was absolutely amazing! Although we couldn't see many stars from the left-side bath, I wonder if they would have been more visible from the right-side bath—that's my only regret. We stayed in a Junior Suite room, which was very comfortable. However, I think there might not have been air conditioning in the tatami room? My parents used the beds while I slept on a futon; it got slightly warm when we closed the shoji screens. It was just a one-night stay, but I'd love to visit again for some relaxation! Thank you very much!

    It was perfect and extremely satisfying.

    The staff's attentiveness and care were excellent. I was very satisfied with the service. The condition of the building's interior and exterior, the Room layout and design, as well as the state of the restaurant, lobby, and large public bath Facility were all meticulously maintained. The location is great, surrounded by beautiful nature with lush greenery, close to attractions like Goshikinuma Nature Trail and Lake Hibara, making it a truly enjoyable experience.

    The Long-Awaited Hotel

    I have loved this place since my 20s and often came here for tea. Staying at the accommodation was a long-awaited dream, and it exceeded my expectations. The allergy care for meals was thorough, the food was incredibly delicious, and the staff's hospitality was exceptional. Thank you so much for taking care of us. Although the weather wasn't great this time, I still enjoyed feeling the power of nature. I'm already looking forward to visiting again on a sunny day and trying Japanese cuisine next time!

    Extremely comfortable.

    I have stayed at Urabandai Kogen Hotel multiple times, and the stay is always incredibly comfortable. The first thing I want to highlight is the delicious food. The French course dinner is exceptional every time, with not only the main dishes but also the side dishes prepared with such care and attention that you can truly taste it. Every bite of the vegetables and other sides makes me feel grateful to the chef and kitchen staff. The bath is also wonderful. Soaking in the open-air hot spring while gazing at Mount Bandai right in front of you is pure bliss. The room I usually stay in faces Mount Bandai, offering a breathtaking view of Miroku-numa in front and Mount Bandai beyond it. Most of the staff are young Japanese individuals, and their dedication really comes through. My personal favorite spot is the lounge library. It’s usually quiet, allowing me to enjoy coffee while catching up on work efficiently. Although it rained during this stay, I still felt glad to have come thanks to how comfortable this hotel always makes me feel.

    A wonderful Hotel you'll want to visit again!

    Previously, I stayed at a nearby hotel and enjoyed their onsen and meals, which were excellent. However, compared to that hotel, this accommodation was very quiet without any large groups, allowing me to relax completely. My room near the entrance had only a shower, but since it was close to the onsen and towels were provided in the changing area, I could enjoy multiple visits comfortably at my own pace. As I am not fond of very hot water, the outdoor bath with its perfect temperature was especially pleasant. The next morning from the outdoor bath, I admired Mount Bandai beautifully reflected on the calm surface of Yaro Lake—a breathtakingly serene view. The quiet and cozy library café as well as the attentive service during dinner and breakfast were also outstanding. Meals were served at just the right timing with satisfying content. As someone who often travels alone and tends to feel accommodations are more expensive for solo travelers, I found their solo traveler plan particularly appealing. It included snacks and drinks in my room as well as free drinks during dinner—especially great value for those who enjoy alcohol. Although I don’t drink alcohol myself, I thoroughly enjoyed delicious meals paired with non-alcoholic wine. Additionally, finding pillows that suit me can be challenging when traveling; however, they provided a low pillow that allowed me to sleep soundly. The good manners of other guests also contributed greatly to my comfort here. While I usually prefer staying at different accommodations when traveling rather than repeating visits to one place often—this hotel left such an impression that it made me want return again in another season someday. Lastly but importantly—the shuttle service from Inawashiro Station was incredibly helpful!

    A charming Hotel surrounded by nature

    My mother had visited several times before, and this time we used the Mother-Daughter Plan. Although the day of our arrival was unfortunately cloudy, the scenery was still beautiful in its own way. The next day, we were blessed with clear skies and could admire the stunning beauty of the mountains. As for the Hotel, the open-air bath was absolutely amazing. The view felt like being inside a painting, offering a sense of freedom and relaxation that helped me forget my usual busy life. The meals were also excellent; Fukushima beef was truly delicious. I would love to visit again during a different season. The staff provided very attentive and high-quality service. Highly recommended!

    It was a Hotel that left no room for anything but praise.

    Staying at hotels with Onsen large baths has been my recent hobby, and I regret not targeting the Urabandai area or noticing the charm of Urabandai Kogen Hotel earlier—it was such a wonderful hotel in every way. A compact yet comfortable room, a clean open-air bath and large bath with stunning views of Urabandai's snowy landscape, delicious meals served by friendly staff in the restaurant, a quiet library lounge for relaxation, safe Shuttle Service transportation, and an attractive solo travel Plan! The front desk staff were also kind and answered many of my questions. While the solo travel Plan is appealing, I’m considering revisiting during a season perfect for exploring so I can bring my partner along. Thank you very much!

    Relaxing Accommodation for Adults

    Absolutely satisfying. First, the bath and the view are outstanding. Soaking in the bath while gazing at Mount Bandai is incredibly relaxing. The water quality is just right, not too strong and perfect. The view from the room is also wonderful, offering a luxurious time simply by enjoying the scenery outside at leisure. For meals, we had French cuisine for dinner and Western-style dishes for breakfast. As cuisine offered in a Fukushima accommodation, it was of excellent quality. While it may not match Michelin-starred restaurants, considering the level of service provided, it was highly satisfying overall. At dinner, two types of bread were served; at breakfast, three types were offered—all very delicious. Among them, the rice flour bread and croissants were exceptionally tasty! One minor disappointment was that my wife's filet steak was slightly overcooked—closer to medium-well than medium-rare as requested—while mine was perfectly medium-rare; comparing both made this difference quite noticeable and felt like a missed opportunity in an otherwise great meal experience. The facility itself isn’t brand new but has been well-maintained with renovated areas such as plumbing systems while retaining its charm through older elements that add character rather than detract from comfortability due to thorough cleaning efforts throughout ensuring guests feel cozy during their stay here comfortably appreciating nostalgic aesthetics likely appealing more towards adult visitors seeking tranquil accommodations. Having stayed multiple times previously around Urabandai region without choosing this particular place earlier feels regretful now after experiencing everything firsthand finally realizing what makes staying here special enough worth returning again someday soon especially imagining how different seasonal landscapes might look warmer weather conditions compared snowy wintertime views enjoyed currently during recent visit expressing gratitude wholeheartedly looking forward next opportunity revisit thank you!

    Highly recommended! It was excellent!

    The meals were delicious, the onsen was wonderful, and the staff were very kind and attentive. Highly recommended accommodation. While hotel prices are generally rising, sometimes choosing based on high prices or good reviews may not meet expectations. However, this hotel is one I can confidently recommend. The food was excellent, made with high-quality ingredients and local specialties, making my visit worthwhile. The facility may not be the newest as mentioned in other reviews, but it was clean and had satisfactory amenities. The staff's kindness ensured a comfortable stay. I look forward to visiting again in a different season!

    Heavy snow

    I made a reservation in February because I wanted to see the snowy scenery like the photos on the homepage. This year, I was worried if I could visit due to heavy snow, but I'm glad I was able to go. I was surprised by the snowfall that exceeded my expectations. The snow clumps hanging from the roof without falling gave me a sense of being in a snowy country. Living in an area with little snow, even though it was just a one-night stay, I felt that living here would be challenging. This time, we stayed for a birthday celebration. The fruit platter and delicious cuisine were excellent, as well as the snow-viewing bath; everything was wonderful. Thanks to the snow, we didn't go anywhere and enjoyed bathing at the hotel thoroughly and had a relaxing stay. When seeing us off on our return bus trip, you waved your hand big despite the driving snowstorm. Thank you very much. Next time, I'd like to visit around summer.

    Completely satisfied

    We stayed for three nights to ski at the three slopes: Urabandai, Nekoma Mountain, and Grandeco. The view of Mount Bandai over the snow-covered garden was a wonderful sight, different from summer. As always, the open-air Onsen and both Japanese and Western meals were excellent. The staff were friendly, and we enjoyed a satisfying stay in every aspect.

    Winter is also wonderful.

    We visited during the heavy snow in winter. We were completely relaxed with the warm hospitality, delicious meals, and soothing onsen. Our stay also coincided with my wife's birthday celebration, and many staff members offered their congratulations, which made her very happy. The garden overlooking the snowy Urabandai is also beautiful. Thank you very much.

    2 nights and 3 days stay

    I stay at the property every February when I go snowboarding. This year, I was worried about the heavy snowfall, but we were blessed with good weather and made it safely. As always, I am satisfied with the onsen, meals, and service. The onsen is particularly wonderful with a great view of Mt. Bandai (Bandaisan), and since it wasn't crowded, I could enjoy a relaxing bath. I would like to use it again next time as well.

    It was excellent.

    The cuisine and service were both courteous. The French fish dish, in particular, has a wonderful flavor. As for the Japanese cuisine, the broth might be an area for improvement. The staff were kind, and I had a comfortable stay. I am grateful for the safe Shuttle Service provided in the heavy snow. It was relaxing without any foreign guests.

    Repeat

    This was my sixth stay, having visited in summer, autumn, and winter, and each time I am soothed by the scenery of Urabandai, the hotel's meals, and the onsen. Although it was fully booked during the year-end stay, the clientele was calm, allowing for a quiet experience. On New Year's Eve, there were fireworks and toshikoshi soba, which satisfied the children. I have repeated my visits many times, but I think it would be nice to hear a word like "Thank you for always staying with us" at check-in, and upon departure, there were no other guests besides us, but it felt rather straightforward. I may have written a bit harshly, but overall, it is a very good hotel, and I was satisfied with my stay, so I would like to stay again.

    The location is one-of-a-kind.

    We visited in mid-December as a family of four, including a couple, one child, and a grandmother, to relax and unwind from the year's fatigue. The lounge and library face Yaro Lake, offering an unobstructed and unique view through the large windows. By mid-December, the snow was deeply piled up, and the child was playing happily. This Hotel is recommended for those who want to spend a quiet and leisurely time. The breakfast was very delicious.

    A historically renowned Hotel that has impressed us the most!

    I had a wonderful stay during my first trip to Fukushima. The quaint, long-established hotel blends perfectly into the powder snow-covered silver world. Although not new, each piece of interior is carefully selected, making it simple, clean, and comfortable. Above all, the warm hospitality of the staff was remarkable at every moment, making me feel like I found a treasure. The open-air bath with a spectacular view is something I would love to visit again in a different season. The cuisine, both Japanese and Western, was delicious and very satisfying. The beautiful view of Mount Bandai can be seen from the room, and I would love to have a Multiple Night Stay next time!

    I felt very relaxed....

    I felt very relaxed. The location is wonderful, allowing me to spend leisurely time while enjoying the views of the mountains and waterfront. Although the building has a historical background, it is well-maintained and clean, and the Onsen and sanitary facilities were also clean and pleasant. The library offers a range of books from old to new, allowing you to spend a relaxing time while enjoying delicious coffee. I would like to visit again in a different season.

    Sophisticated Adult Highland Hotel

    Visited during a vacation in the snow at the end of November. Quiet and serene atmosphere. The guest rooms and Onsen were simple and sophisticated. There was a library and a fireplace, which made it relaxing. Stayed for two nights and enjoyed both Japanese and Western cuisine for breakfast and dinner. A selection of local sake from Aizu and Kitakata was available, allowing us to enjoy a delightful pairing with the delicious dishes. The staff were unpretentious and kind. I would like to visit again in the spring.

    Stays after 20 years

    The Room, restaurant, and bath have been renovated, allowing us to enjoy a pleasant and leisurely stay. The view of Mount Bandai from in front of the pond was magnificent. There was still one log house remaining. I often used the log house, so it was nostalgic.

    It was a memorable stay.

    I made a reservation to spend some relaxing time with my mother after a long time. The room, meals, and service were all excellent at the hotel. The onsen was simple but clean with a great view, allowing us to enjoy a luxurious feeling. Both the onsen and the restaurant are on the second floor, so choosing a room on the second floor was the right decision considering my mother's mobility issues. (Of course, there is an elevator) Personally, I also found the selection of souvenirs to be good, and I wish I had bought more. The smiles of the staff were impressive. I would like to visit again in a different season. Thank you very much.

    A healing stay at "Urabandai Kogen Hotel"

    I visited for the first time on the recommendation of a friend living in Fukushima, and I am grateful to my friend as everything, including the Onsen, cuisine, and service, was wonderful. Normally, the autumn leaves season would have passed by this time of year, but perhaps due to the intense heat this year, we were able to enjoy the autumn foliage, which was very soothing. It was a trip meant to express my gratitude to my wife, and she was also very pleased, making it a highly satisfying trip.

    This time, I was worried about dining at the restaurant with my one-year-old grandchild. However, I was relieved when they kindly agreed to warm up the freeze-dried baby food. We were also given a corner sofa seat both at night and during the day, so we didn't have to worry about disturbing others and could enjoy our meals. The autumn leaves were also wonderful, making it a great memory. Thank you very much.

    I will visit again in a different season.

    It was a bit early for the autumn leaves, but we enjoyed a two-night stay with golf and a walk around Goshikinuma. We borrowed a bear bell and took the hotel's bus, which dropped us off for a course that took about an hour to return to the hotel, which was just right. Although it was a weekday, the hotel was almost fully booked, and we stayed on the entrance side rather than the mountain side, but the room seemed to have been renovated and was clean. The view from the open-air bath was also excellent. It is recommended for those who want to spend a quiet time with only adults. The French cuisine was not too heavy and could be enjoyed with leisurely service. (Recently, many places are short-staffed and rushed.) The staff seemed to work with joy and pride, which was pleasant. I rated the meals a 4 because I thought they could have included a bit more local menu in the Japanese cuisine. I rated the facility a 4 because there were no screens on the room windows, and there was a notice about stink bugs, so we couldn't open them. It was a bit disappointing as we wanted to enjoy the highland air. Overall, the satisfaction level was quite high, so I would definitely like to stay again.

    It is a comfortable Hotel.

    A very lovely hotel. The lounge for guests is spacious and has a calm atmosphere, with a postcard-like view that you could gaze at forever. The impressive bookshelf in the lounge is also picturesque, and it contains books from various genres, including magazines, which made me happy as a book lover. Overall, it is very comfortable, and I am really looking forward to visiting again. Next time for a multiple night stay.

    Thank you for your hospitality.

    This is my third stay. The view from the room on the Bandai Mountain side was like a postcard with the trees starting to change color. As always, the view from the open-air bath was wonderful, and the simplicity of the room was calming. However, there were a few disappointing points. Firstly, the meals were not memorable, and since the accommodation fee is higher than usual due to the season, I felt it was not quite worth the price. The breakfast also lacked warm dishes, and the grilled fish, in particular, seemed to be reheated in a microwave, lacking any grill marks. Overall, it felt rather meager. Additionally, during dinner, when the staff brought drinks, they repeatedly said things like "Sorry to keep you waiting, young lady..." I believe they intended to be friendly, but it felt a bit disrespectful to someone in their 50s. I think I might not revisit for a while.
