    Satisfaction at any time

    My spouse and I stayed for three nights mainly to ski, but in the end we skied only one day and spent the other two days on a guided snowshoe trek and a snowy walk around Goshikinuma. As always, we enjoyed our stay at the Hotel with its pleasant Facility, relaxing Onsen, and delicious meals (two Western-style dinners and one Japanese-style dinner). The staff seemed younger overall, and there were a few awkward moments in service, but nothing was a problem.

    Always a place of comfort and relaxation.

    After about a year, I visited during the snow season for the first time. This time, I wanted some personal time right after finishing work and chose Urabandai. It was the perfect choice. The stunning snowy scenery, the consistently delicious meals, and the open-air bath with a forest aroma were all exceptional. This Hotel is the best place for those who want to enjoy tranquility. It became a luxurious solo retreat at the end of the year. Once again, I am deeply grateful to all the staff for their hospitality. I look forward to visiting again after your renovations!

    This was my first time using your service. I mentioned in advance that we would be accompanied by an elderly person, and I appreciate your thoughtful arrangement of a room close to the bath and restaurant. Thank you very much. The staff were all smiling and worked hard for long hours, providing excellent service. The meals were beautifully presented, reflecting the season, and we thoroughly enjoyed both the taste and experience. As the colder season approaches, I imagine it will be challenging, but I look forward to staying again in the future. Please keep up the great work!

    Enjoy the view.

    I stayed at the accommodation to visit Goshikinuma during the autumn foliage season. The hotel's garden and surrounding autumn colors were at their peak and absolutely captivating. Since our room was on the Bandai Mountain side, we had a stunning view of Mount Bandai, the forest, Yaroku Pond, and all the beautiful autumn leaves from our window. My husband, who loves mountains, was deeply impressed and kept saying "Amazing!" Just before dinner, I suddenly felt unwell and thought I might have to skip it. However, they kindly rescheduled our dinner to a later time slot. After resting for a while, I recovered enough to enjoy dinner. During dinner as well, they provided warm tea and lap blankets along with other thoughtful gestures—thank you so much for your kindness. The next morning, we were taken by bus to the entrance of Goshikinuma where we enjoyed strolling around and fully appreciated the vibrant autumn scenery. My husband and I talked about how we'd love to come back again!

    It was a wonderful Hotel.

    This was my first stay at this accommodation to enjoy the autumn leaves around Bandai. The excellent lakeside location, the calm atmosphere throughout the facility, the bright, spacious, and clean room, the delicious meals, the pleasant onsen, and the great value for money—all were highly satisfying. Having stayed at numerous hotels and ryokans across various regions before, I can confidently say this is one of the best accommodations. I was also impressed by how thoughtfully meals were prepared for my young grandchild. I would love to visit again soon. Please continue maintaining this high quality of service!

    Prime Location

    The location was absolutely amazing. I was deeply soothed by the breathtaking scenery that changed beautifully with time. Whether from the Room, the bath, or the library, every view was stunning. The library offered books from a wide range of genres, creating such a wonderful space that I felt I could spend hours there without getting bored. The staff were consistently kind and attentive—thank you so much for your hospitality. Thanks to all of this, it became a truly unforgettable trip of a lifetime.

    Expected a quiet time, but the stay was unsettling.

    The location, building ambiance, rooms, and Onsen were all excellent, providing a peaceful environment surrounded by nature. The architecture and views met expectations, and the facilities were very satisfying. However, there were significant disappointments regarding the service during our stay. In the room above us, it seemed that small children were running around from morning until night with loud noises resembling furniture falling over. From as early as 7 AM, it felt like a noisy sports event was taking place. At the restaurant during both breakfast and dinner times, constant shouting and crying from children made it difficult to enjoy meals in a calm atmosphere. The staff showed no signs of addressing or managing this situation; it felt more like a family restaurant than an accommodation of this price range. This was my first experience at such an accommodation accepting young children where staff took no action whatsoever. Additionally, at breakfast check-in when asked for our room number by a male staff member, he did not greet us politely but instead loudly repeated our table number multiple times to another staff member who seemed unable to hear him clearly—this left quite an unpleasant impression. After finishing breakfast and returning to our room before 9 AM, we found cleaning supplies lined up in the hallway with cleaning staff moving back and forth—it gave off more of a Business Hotel vibe than expected. Overall while aspects such as location or facilities exceeded expectations ("hard" elements), operational management along with hospitality ("soft" elements) fell short leaving much disappointment behind. Having chosen this Accommodation based on high ratings on IKYU.com confidently beforehand—the experience turned out underwhelmingly disappointing due partly perhaps coinciding alongside large groups traveling w/ infants-toddlers alike disrupting tranquility sought-after originally intended rejuvenation purposes ultimately unmet unfortunately!

    Mother-Daughter's Last Journey Together

    I chose this accommodation as the destination for what is likely the last trip with my pregnant daughter. Our goal was to spend a relaxing time, and we were completely satisfied with everything—the view from the room, the quality of the staff, and all aspects of the accommodation environment. (Although there was a "Beware of Bears" sign on the walking trail, which made us hesitant to venture in.) I would love to visit again in every season.

    Highly Satisfied!!

    It was my first stay. The course meal was so delicious that it made me forget the fatigue from driving 300 kilometers one way, and the view from the room was absolutely stunning, bringing smiles and relaxation! The tableware used had excellent taste, making it enjoyable to look at and satisfying to eat from! The variety of amenities is a delightful point for women! Next time, I would love to see the snowy winter scenery. I hope to come back for another relaxing trip. Thank you for your hospitality!

    It was simply amazing.

    After visiting for the first time in 10 years, the majestic view of Bandai Mountain was matched by the grand and dignified appearance of the Hotel. The clean and well-maintained Facility, excellent meals, and staff who maintained a perfect balance of attentiveness made for an exceptional experience. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

    Scenic Views of Yaroku Lake and Mount Bandai with Delicious Meals

    Multiple Night Stay after about 2 years. The views of Yaro Lake and Mount Bandai can be enjoyed from anywhere in the Hotel. This time, I chose French cuisine for both dinners, and the "Kanpachi Confit" and "Traditional Beef Stew" on the second day were particularly memorable. I was also able to relax and enjoy the Onsen alone, making the most of my late summer vacation.

    Stayed for the first time in 5 years.

    This has been my favorite hotel, where I have stayed many times. With Yaro Lake and Mount Bandai, the location is fantastic. I was looking forward to the delicious meals as well. However, I felt that the taste has slightly declined. The amuse-bouche and appetizer were underwhelming, which diminished my anticipation for the main course. It seemed like they used to serve dishes that paired better with wine. Previously, the appetizers were vibrant and truly delightful, so it was very disappointing this time. I ordered a slightly more expensive wine expecting great food, but starting with the appetizers was a letdown—very unfortunate indeed. I hope improvements will be made so I can visit again in the future.

    I stayed here with my parents on our first trip to Fukushima. The view of Mount Bandai from the bath was amazing! Plus, seeing Mount Bandai reflected in Yajiroku Marsh was such a breathtaking sight that we lost track of time. The Hotel staff were always smiling and provided warm hospitality, which made my parents very happy. Thank you so much. Although it was just one night, I truly enjoyed spending a relaxing time surrounded by nature. I would love to stay here again on my next trip to Fukushima!

    The view from the Room was truly stunning, just like a postcard. In recent years, buffet-style breakfasts have become mainstream at Hotels, but this Hotel offers seated service with traditional hospitality, which is delightful. I have one suggestion: I enjoy receiving aroma massages while traveling, so it would be great if that service were available.

    For the first time in 40 years

    We were able to visit again after 40 years since our first stay during the summer of our first year of marriage. While the boats on Lake Yaroku were no longer there, an open-air bath had been added, allowing us to enjoy the stunning views of the lake and Mount Bandai from the bath. The room had been renovated and now included air conditioning, which was previously deemed unnecessary due to the cool climate. We enjoyed reading books with coffee in the library lounge and savored beautifully crafted meals at the restaurant that delighted both our eyes and taste buds. Most of all, we were delighted that the elegant atmosphere of Urabandai Kogen Hotel remained unchanged over time.

    Perfect in every way

    The environment, service, meals, and facilities were all exceptional. The interior design was tasteful, everything was spotless, and the staff were not only friendly but also attentive to guests' needs with meticulous service. The lounge offered a wonderful selection of books from around the world, perfectly curated and delightful. It was so comfortable that I wanted to spend hours reading while gazing at the lake. The most luxurious aspect was the breathtaking view of the private lake set against the backdrop of Mount Bandai. Guests can enjoy an exclusive walking trail around the lake that feels like a mini mountain trek. The view from the large public bath is equally stunning—mountains and forests reflecting on the mirror-like surface of the lake is simply breathtaking. For meals, I chose French cuisine for dinner and Japanese for breakfast; both were sophisticated and absolutely delicious. While it’s not in a location with convenient transportation access, there’s a shuttle bus to nearby tourist spots which makes it very convenient. I never knew such an amazing place existed in Fukushima! I will definitely return again during another season to experience its charm anew. Thank you so much to all staff members and especially to the head chef!

    It is a wonderful Hotel.

    This was my first time staying at this wonderful hotel. The location and hospitality were exceptional, as expected from a place favored by the Imperial Family, making it perfect for a relaxing vacation. If I may suggest some improvements: during meals, the serving timing for both Japanese and Western cuisine felt slightly rushed. Considering that guests are on vacation and not in a hurry, it might be better to take a brief pause before serving each course. Additionally, during my 2-night stay with two dinner and two breakfast opportunities, I was never seated at a window-side table with a nice view. With four chances available, I would have appreciated being seated by the window at least once. As an IKYU Diamond Member staying in a suite room, I had hoped for more consideration in this regard. Aside from these two points, it was an excellent hotel experience overall, and I would love to stay here again in the future. It was truly an enjoyable stay!

    The Best Natural Scenery

    The view from the Hotel is absolutely stunning, among the best in the country. The cleanliness was impeccable, allowing for a very comfortable stay. During our two-night trip, we enjoyed Western cuisine on the first day and Japanese cuisine on the second day. Both menus showcased creativity and innovation, and were incredibly delicious. Additionally, the staff provided kind and attentive service, which was outstanding. Although it is far from my residence, I would love to visit again. Thank you very much!

    Stayed with my wife. The view of Yaroku Lake and Mount Bandai from the library lounge, the room, and the open-air bath was absolutely stunning from the moment we arrived. The size of the accommodation was just right, and the staff's service was exceptionally pleasant. I would definitely love to stay here again.     Rainy Urabandai

    The building and the stunning views were, of course, impressive, but enjoying the Onsen while gazing at the serene lake surface was truly delightful. The quiet and clean interior allowed for a relaxing and fulfilling stay. Many of the staff members were relatively young, providing fresh and cheerful service. I was also impressed that all staff, including cleaning staff, were Japanese. I would definitely love to visit again!

    Enjoy the Scenery

    Overall, I had a comfortable and pleasant stay. Considering the price range, there was a free welcome drink service, but it would have been nice to have some alcoholic options as well.
