    The Onsen was excellent.

I was happy that the Room had a bath, so I could enjoy it anytime, 24 hours a day. I had a very comfortable stay. We were planning to dine at the on-site restaurant, but since there was a group staying that day and it might have been lively, we really appreciated their thoughtful consideration in changing it to an in-Room meal. One disappointing point was that the sashimi at dinner was abalone instead of spiny lobster. Breakfast also came with clam miso soup instead of spiny lobster miso soup. Since the standard kaiseki photos on the website showed spiny lobster, I had expected it and felt disappointed. Still, the food was delicious and the atmosphere of the Room was wonderful! I would love to stay again if I have the chance!

I stayed here with my mother and nephew on a trip for three. We were able to relax in a separate Room, and we could also borrow colorful yukata. This trip was to help cheer up my mother before she begins medical treatment, so it was truly wonderful. Breakfast was gently seasoned, and it seemed my mother was able to enjoy plenty of it as well. I would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

Due to the heavy rain, we couldn’t go outside, but we were able to relax and spend time in the Room. The bath was clean, and we could enjoy it at a leisurely pace. The meals were delicious. We also appreciated your accommodation of our allergies. Thank you to all the staff who assisted us.

    Satisfied

We were completely satisfied with everything—the overall service, the Room, the bath, the meals, and all services for our baby. I highly recommend this Accommodation as a great choice for anyone, not just families with children. If we have the opportunity again, we would definitely stay here. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

We stayed with our 6-month-old baby. Since we were traveling with a baby, we were concerned about how thoroughly the Room would be cleaned, but it was kept very clean. Also, because the Room is in a separate building, it was great not having to worry about our baby’s crying. The Onsen was very relaxing, and meals are served in the Room, so we could eat at our own pace while soothing our baby. This Accommodation is highly recommended for families traveling with a baby.

The Accommodation, food, and service were all excellent.

Many places don’t reply to messages in the notes section when you make a Reservation, which can be worrying, but this Accommodation replied a few days after I booked, so I felt reassured before our stay. The Accommodation was stylish, very clean, and the staff were attentive. The food was also excellent. There was a projector in the bath, which my child loved. However, we booked the most expensive Plan, but I couldn’t tell how the final rice dish or some of the side dishes differed from the standard Plan. From photos in other Reviews, it even looked like the standard course had more luxurious individual dishes. We ordered abalone as an optional add-on; it was large, fresh, and absolutely delicious.

I was a bit anxious about our first trip with our 5-month-old daughter, but as soon as we arrived at the Accommodation, a staff member came out to greet us at the car, which immediately left a great impression. After that, we were shown to our Room by a female international staff member in charge of the Room. She not only explained everything thoroughly but was also very kind to our daughter, so we felt completely at ease during our stay. We also used the baby Plan, and the baby amenities were so well stocked that it felt like we didn’t need to bring anything ourselves. Thanks to that, we had a very comfortable stay. We’re truly glad we chose this Accommodation for our first trip with our daughter. Thank you very much.

If the staff stayed here too.

All night long, a pump or motor noise kept starting and stopping, making it impossible to sleep well. I think the management should try staying here themselves at least once. I also made a Reservation for the top-tier meal plan, but nothing stood out as particularly good. The sashimi boat platter was served together with meat grilled over charcoal at the hearth, so the sashimi warmed up—an unfortunate way to serve it. The steak is also cooked by guests on an iron plate, but the heat was far too strong and the Room quickly filled with smoke. There was nowhere to move it, so there was nothing we could do. There is no phone in reception and no staff present. This Hotel has no redeeming qualities. I will never stay again. The worst Ryokan/Hotel I have ever stayed at.

    The bath is top-class!

There are two baths, one indoors and one outdoors. The indoor bath in particular was at the perfect temperature and felt exceptionally relaxing. Unfortunately, the outdoor bath was a bit dirty, which was disappointing. The meals were also very good, with just the right taste and portion size.

I was very satisfied with the meal.

We visited to celebrate my partner’s birthday. Since the Room is in a separate building, the corridor was cold, but the restroom and the Room were well heated and warm. It was also clean, which was great. Dinner was good, but I especially loved breakfast. Below are a few things that concerned me: - The boiler noise was loud. (It seems you can turn it off, but we left it on while sleeping because we wanted to take a morning bath. If you are sensitive to noise, it may bother you.) - At dinner, my partner sat down a little late (less than 5 minutes), and we were told something along the lines of “we’ll keep bringing out the next dishes, so please proceed,” which felt slightly rushed. In reality, there was plenty of time before the next dish arrived, so there was no need to hurry at all. Overall service was very good, which made this point especially disappointing. Overall, we were very satisfied and would like to visit again if we have plans around Ise/Toba.

    Accommodation with exceptionally delicious cuisine

I stayed in the Main Building Annex ~IRORI~ (Japanese-Western Style Room). Compared to its sister property, Kisara Bettei Toki, which I had stayed at before, this accommodation feels slightly older but has a charming and atmospheric appeal. The water facilities were clean. Both the private open-air bath and indoor bath were spacious enough, and the floor of the indoor bath was made of a waterproof material resembling tatami mats, making it safe for bathing with babies. The indoor bath also featured projection mapping, which delighted the children. The quality of the cuisine was exceptionally high; every dish from appetizers to dessert was meticulously prepared. The meals showcased the delicious flavors of Ise-Shima's seafood and Ise beef beautifully. Even though we had a Multiple Night Stay, they ensured that each menu was different with thoughtful variations. The Ise lobster was particularly outstanding! The service provided by our room attendant was excellent; they paid attention to even small details and offered assistance whenever needed. On our last day, they kindly accommodated our request for an early breakfast due to our schedule—thank you very much! If there is one drawback, it would be that no soft drinks or alcohol were available in the lounge; only beverages from the minibar in our room (for an additional charge) were provided. This accommodation is highly recommended for those who wish to enjoy private open-air baths or in-room dining. I look forward to staying here again when visiting Toba City!

    It was a wonderful accommodation.

We stayed here after finding this accommodation while searching for a maternity plan to create one last memory as a couple before the baby arrives. The facility was slightly old, but it was impeccably clean, the onsen in the guest room was very relaxing, and the meals were delicious and perfectly portioned. The staff member who attended to us was from abroad but spoke excellent Japanese and provided very pleasant service. I think this ryokan is ideal for families with children or expectant mothers. The positive reviews were absolutely true. It became a truly wonderful Christmas before childbirth. Thank you very much!

    It was very relaxing.

The staff were very polite and attentive. I had read a previous review mentioning concerns about non-Japanese staff, but I found no reason to worry at all. The staff member who assisted us was from another country, but they were incredibly polite, attentive, and thoughtful. During meals or when they came to our Room, they kindly interacted with our children, making them feel so comfortable that they cried because they didn’t want to leave. Our family had a very pleasant and comfortable stay. The sashimi was especially excellent! Other dishes were also delicious. If we have the chance, we would love to stay here again.

Very satisfied with the private open-air bath in the Room.

Maternity Plan + Birthday Plate Option: We chose this accommodation for its private open-air bath, perfect during pregnancy. The bath and meals exceeded our expectations, providing an exceptional experience. With the indoor and outdoor baths connected, it was easy to use multiple times. Available 24 hours, with tatami flooring keeping feet warm, and views from the bedroom or balcony made it enjoyable for the whole family. The in-room dining plan allowed us to fully relax without leaving the room except for check-in and check-out. The dining table was spacious and comfortable. Our child’s meal had generous portions, and the birthday plate with fireworks brought great joy. One concern was about Child Sharing Existing Bedding fees before our stay; while email communication clarified everything thoroughly, making such details clearer during online reservation would save time and avoid misunderstandings for such a wonderful accommodation. This is a fantastic place where families can enjoy luxurious moments together without worrying about others around them. We would love to stay here again!

    First Trip with Kids

We stayed here for our child's first trip and our wedding anniversary. As it was our first family trip, we were a bit worried, but the staff's thoughtfulness and excellent service made it a wonderful experience. A baby chair was also provided in the Room, which was very convenient. Our first family trip became a truly memorable experience! We would love to visit again!

    A relaxing Ryokan

The food was delicious. The service was average, but the person who served the food was very pleasant. Overall, the staff maintained a comfortable balance of attentiveness without being intrusive, which made for a relaxing stay. The bath was also great. The indoor bath, in particular, was spacious and allowed for a leisurely soak compared to the open-air bath. With large windows, it feels semi-open-air. This is definitely a Ryokan I would like to visit again. It would be nice if there were small makeup mirrors available.

    Reservation confirmed!!

I had always wanted to stay at this accommodation, but never had the chance until now. My expectations were high even before arriving, and from check-in to check-out, everything exceeded my satisfaction! The hospitality was exceptional, and even though we were traveling with a small child, they went above and beyond to ensure our child was happy throughout the stay. It truly felt like the perfect choice. We go on family trips several times a year and rarely stay at the same accommodation twice, but I would definitely love to visit Kisara again. Thank you for providing us with such a wonderful and enjoyable time!

A Ryokan with great value for money

This was my first time staying here, though I had visited the annex before. The price is more reasonable compared to the annex, making it a good value Ryokan. Upon arrival, no one came to assist us immediately, and parking was confusing due to unclear markings. The room was located on the basement floor via elevator and did not have an ocean view like the annex, which was disappointing. I chose this room because it mentioned being renovated; while slightly dim, it was spacious, clean, and comfortable. However, it was unfortunate that the TV could not be viewed from the bed. Instead of a large public bathhouse (Onsen), there were private baths in the room: an indoor bath and an outdoor ceramic open-air bath (though surrounded by walls with no outside view). Both used transported water from Sakakibara Onsen with adjustable temperatures; while spacious and pleasant overall, they lacked the silky smooth texture found at the annex's baths. Dinner had generous portions overall but lacked intricate appetizers or elaborate dishes. The sashimi platter included items like lobster with substantial volume; particularly noteworthy was how firm and deliciously fresh sea bream tasted! My wife enjoyed taro dumplings very much too. Breakfast served in-room featured highlights such as miso soup made using lobster stock alongside simmered sea bream head—both delightful additions enhancing our experience further. However small details could improve: only one serving worth of coffee provided inside rooms without tea offered during check-in either (despite traditional sweets stored within refrigerators). Adding extra amenities would elevate guest satisfaction significantly! Lastly yet importantly—the female staff member assigned proved exceptionally kind throughout interactions—sharing insights regarding sake breweries linked closely toward brands sampled during tastings alongside recommending nearby fish markets upon departure requests alike! Her refined demeanor left lasting positive impressions indeed!

It was an accommodation where you could fully enjoy to your heart's content.

We stayed in a room with an irori (traditional Japanese hearth) as a couple. ■ About the Staff Service From the warm welcome, check-in process, room guidance, meal service, to check-out assistance, the staff provided attentive and professional hospitality with just the right amount of distance. It truly felt like staying at an accommodation with exceptional service. ■ About the Room The room was impeccably clean down to every detail, creating a comfortable environment without any discomfort. There were both indoor and outdoor baths in our private bathroom. The indoor bath was spacious enough for two people to stretch out comfortably. The outdoor bath was also adequately sized for one person to enjoy Onsen comfortably. Next to the outdoor bath was a deck area that provided an ideal spot for cooling off after bathing, especially during this cooler season. ■ About Meals We opted for in-room dining this time and appreciated how efficiently everything was prepared so we could start eating at our requested time upon check-in. The meal featured kaiseki cuisine using local fish, Ise lobster, beef, and pork abundantly—both of us were extremely satisfied with it. For breakfast as well, we enjoyed delicious dishes including fish dishes and Ise lobster miso soup that left us very pleased. Since our purpose for this trip was "to enjoy delicious seafood," we were able to fully indulge ourselves. ■ Overall Impression This accommodation ranks among the top-class options within easy reach from Kansai region in terms of satisfaction level. Both my spouse and I would love to return again!

I had a very comfortable stay!!

I stayed with my mother at the accommodation. First, we were shown to our room, and I was amazed by the spaciousness of both the room and the bathroom. The meals were plentiful, especially the sashimi which was delicious, and the staff's hospitality made for a very pleasant trip. I would love to stay here again if I have another opportunity!

    A very happy time

I had a very relaxing time surrounded by nature. The staff were kind and truly wonderful. Additionally, having a charging station for the car in the parking lot was incredibly helpful. The meals featured excellent seasonal menus, and I enjoyed them from start to finish. Thank you for the lovely experience!

    We had a great time.

I stayed for the first time in mid-October. Although it was a bit difficult to find the accommodation, the staff kindly guided us. The staff at the accommodation provided very courteous service. The room had an excellent bath, and I was able to enjoy it multiple times. Regarding the meals, as we are an elderly couple, some dishes felt a bit too strongly flavored, but overall, there was plenty of food and we were satisfied. I would love to visit again if given the opportunity.

    Simply outstanding.

Simply put, it was absolutely amazing. It had been several years since my last visit, and I heard the accommodation had been renovated during that time. It was already beautiful and atmospheric before, but after the renovation, it became even more stunning, which surprised me. I reserved a different room this time compared to my previous stay, and not only was it impeccably clean, but it was also so spacious that one night felt too short to fully enjoy it. The room included a private bath with both an indoor and outdoor option. The baths were so relaxing that I found myself using them multiple times. For meals, I chose a plan with in-room dining service. The timing of meal delivery and their thoughtful consideration for children were impeccable—everything exceeded expectations in every way possible. I would love to visit again!

A Ryokan with delicious cuisine and attentive service. The view is slightly limited.

Located near Kintetsu Toba Station and close to the sea, this accommodation is nestled in the forest. However, the view from the room is limited to the roof of the ryokan and nearby buildings, which was a bit disappointing. That said, it is a wonderful ryokan. The building has a charming, traditional design, and the compact lobby and front desk felt private and cozy. A single, experienced staff member took care of everything from check-in to check-out, including serving meals in the room. Her attentive service, well-timed meal delivery, and clear explanations were impressive. When I mentioned that I missed trying the local specialty, shark tare, on my previous visit to Toba, she kindly arranged for it to be included with breakfast, which was a delightful surprise. The meals primarily featured local ingredients. Dinner included premium dishes such as Ise beef fillet, which rivals branded beef in flavor, natural rock oysters, sashimi of Ise lobster, and a variety of delicacies like ayu, nada tuna, and eel hitsumabushi. The portions were generous, and the dishes were expertly prepared. Unique items like straw-grilled bonito and koromo-gaki, which are rare even in this region, showcased the chef's skill. Although I couldn't finish the rice and had it made into rice balls, I felt a bit guilty about it. Breakfast was a healthy and delicious combination of seafood and mountain produce, with highlights like perfectly cooked tai ara-ni. Overall, the meals were highly satisfying. The room included a dining area, a twin-bedded bedroom, an open-air bath, and an indoor bath. It was clean and well-maintained. The ryokan's information was provided via a dedicated tablet, which I initially found challenging to use, but the staff kindly guided me, and I quickly got the hang of it. The onsen water, though transported, was clean and pleasant. The indoor bath featured projection mapping, which was surprising and entertaining. Amenities like small-sized shampoo bottles added a sense of cleanliness, and the safe was conveniently placed at an accessible height. However, I would have appreciated a dedicated hanger for trousers. Despite being managed by a single staff member, the service was exceptional, and the ryokan was well-maintained. The staff member who drove me back was polite and left a positive impression. While the view from the window could be improved, I would love to stay at this accommodation again.

Expected value: 80, Actual value: 40

We stayed with high expectations due to the good reviews, but there were several disappointments: 1. Grilled meat was not allowed for in-room dining (the smell lingered in the room and became an unpleasant odor). 2. The room setup included two rooms for in-room dining, which felt unnecessary. 3. Low level of hospitality. 4. No lounge services such as welcome drinks were provided at all. 5. The automatic door on the connecting corridor was broken, and the handling seemed careless. The Onsen (not from a natural hot spring source) had both indoor and open-air baths, making it convenient to use. While the staff's response was polite, there were few of them, creating a somewhat deserted atmosphere that emphasized a lower quality feel overall. There seems to be potential for higher quality here; we hope efforts will be made to enhance its value as an Onsen accommodation.

    It became a wonderful memory.

I stayed at this accommodation for the first time with my daughter for a special parent-child trip. Based on her wish to enjoy seafood, I made a reservation here. We chose the "Gourmet Feast Plan with Premium Kaiseki" and dined in the restaurant. When I saw the menu, I was thrilled by its extravagance. The dishes featured local ingredients, including fresh and thickly sliced sashimi, oysters, filet meat, and abalone—an endless array of luxurious dishes that were all incredibly delicious and satisfying. Additionally, due to an unexpected schedule change on our part, we caused some inconvenience but received excellent support from the staff. Their hospitality was outstanding. This trip created precious and wonderful memories with my daughter. I would love to stay here again in the future!

    Resort-like atmosphere with attentive hospitality.

The staff who assisted us during our stay was a foreigner, but they were very kind, making it feel like a resort and allowing us to refresh ourselves. The meals became increasingly delicious with each course, and the rare-cooked steak and abalone dishes were exceptionally tasty. The Room's bath was fantastic; despite the hot day, it was wonderful to enjoy the bath while looking at the greenery. One point of concern was that the elevator had a musty smell, which stood out as an area that seemed less well-maintained.

    I had a relaxing time.

I stayed at Kisara this time. Previously, I had also used Bettei Toki and enjoyed the onsen with my family. This time as well, the onsen was very relaxing. The meals were delicious, plentiful, and very satisfying. Despite making a last-minute reservation late the night before, I was warmly welcomed, which made me happy. Of course, I would like to stay again. One small disappointment was that the drain in the toilet's handwashing area seemed a bit dirty, but overall it was a satisfying trip.
