    Service...

After completing the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, this was my first stay. The Onsen was very pleasant. However, I had a few concerns: 1. The first parking lot was full and there was nowhere to park, so I temporarily pulled up in front of the Hotel entrance, but no one came out. I went to the front desk to ask about parking. Another guest also came in to ask on their own in the same way. If the parking situation is not immediately clear, I would like staff to respond by coming out to the entrance. 2. The water dispenser in front of the bath ran out of water by 8:00 p.m., and it still had not been refilled when I used it again the next morning. 3. At dinner, the staff member spoke quietly and was hard to hear. They tried to clear plates while we were still eating; even after telling them twice that we were not finished, it made the meal feel rushed. It is not an expensive Hotel, but I do not think it is cheap either. I would like you to consider improving your service a bit more.

It may not be ideal during the high season.

I stayed during a peak-season long weekend at high-season rates, and I had hoped for more attentive hospitality. The meal time I selected at check-in was not shared with the dining venue, so they were not prepared. While that may be unavoidable, there was no follow-up recovery afterward (such as adjusting the timing for laying out the futons), which was disappointing. There were also moments when information confirmed at check-in had not been communicated to other staff members, which made me feel there was a lack of coordination. At weekday pricing I might have been satisfied, but for what I paid this time, the overall quality felt somewhat low. That said, each staff member individually did not leave a bad impression, so it seems more like an issue with communication and operations. I used this Accommodation to celebrate an important person’s birthday, but if coordination mistakes like this occur, it may be better to be cautious about using it for special occasions. As for the bath facilities, although there is a sauna, it was disappointing that there was no cold plunge bath or outdoor relaxation area. The only highlight was that the food was delicious. In the future, I would consider staying on weekdays or in the off-season after confirming whether the balance between price and service is appropriate.

    Vegan Noodles for Sale

Because we live a vegan lifestyle, we really appreciated that the shop sold vegan noodles. The bath and the service were excellent, and we would love to stay again if we have the opportunity. Thank you very much.

We were able to relax in a Room with an open-air bath.

We stayed in a Room on the 7th floor. The Room had tatami flooring, so we could relax. The private open-air bath in the Room also had a proper washing area, which was great. Dinner was delicious too—especially the shabu-shabu. And the white rice was very tasty. We would love to stay again.

I would like to stay here again.

As last year, we stayed in a Room with a semi-open-air bath. It was wonderful to be able to enjoy the Onsen at the perfect temperature anytime, so this time we didn’t use the public bath and spent our stay using only the in-room bath. The tap water was delicious to drink, and the in-room amenities were well stocked, which we really appreciated. The only issue was that the air conditioning had heating only; since it was a seasonal transition, it felt a bit warm inside even with the heat turned off, so it would be nice if cooling were available during this time of year. Other than that, everything—from the location and service to the value for money—was excellent. We’d love to stay again.

    Shinshu Premium Beef Shabu-Shabu

[Yuraku no Yakata Sui] Japanese-Western Room with Open-Air Bath We stayed on the Shinshu Premium Beef Shabu-Shabu Plan. The Room was spacious and very relaxing. Having beds in a Japanese-style room was a nice touch. The bath water temperature felt a little low, so we asked if it could be warmed up slightly. We decided to upgrade our meal, and it exceeded our expectations. The portion of meat was very generous—so much so that we skipped the rice. Sushi is served at the beginning, but for guests who aren’t young, an assorted sashimi platter might be more appreciated than sushi. A couple of things stood out: we would have liked complimentary bottled water in the Room. I’m sure the tap water is from the Southern Alps, but we still preferred bottled water. Also, there was no guardrail by the low window, which felt a bit unsafe—families with small children should be careful. Overall, we were very satisfied and would love to visit again in a different season. Thank you very much.

    Onsen-style accommodation

It has the feel of a traditional Onsen town Accommodation, but it has been renovated, with thoughtful touches throughout, and was very comfortable. For the price, both dinner and breakfast were high quality, and we were very satisfied. The balance of quality and portion size was excellent. We stayed in a Room with an open-air bath, but we were a bit concerned about the houses across the river, so it might be better to increase the tinting on the glass.

    It was cozy and relaxing.

As a base for visiting the ski resort and the Kurobe Dam, I felt this Ryokan was a pretty good Accommodation. The atmosphere inside is pleasantly casual, and many guests seemed to be here for skiing. Many people also chose a later dinner seating—perhaps so they could finish skiing and then enjoy a relaxed meal. Lately, I’ve heard that the number of skiers in Japan has been declining. With that in mind, I think it would be encouraging for the region if more overseas visitors could enjoy Japan’s snow and spend comfortably while traveling. When I went out for a walk, Hoshino Resorts “KAI” was next door. It left an impression to see staff waiting near the gate, clearly prepared to welcome guests properly even in the cold. I’d love to stay at an Accommodation with that kind of attentive hospitality at least once. That said, considering the price, I was more than satisfied with this Accommodation as well. Choosing a Room with a sunken kotatsu was absolutely the right call—on such cold days, that warmth is truly appreciated. The only other time I’ve stayed at a Ryokan with a sunken kotatsu was in Furukawa at Mubutei, in their Room called “Issui,” but it reminded me again how perfectly this feature suits colder regions. Breakfast was enjoyable as well, served as multiple set trays with plenty of variety.

The Onsen is great, but the meals are...

The Onsen was clean, very well maintained, and a pleasure to use. However, the drinks in the Room were limited to a pot with water and hot water, which felt a bit lacking. The most disappointing part was the children’s meal. It felt like it was simply the adult meal with 2–3 items removed, and it still had wasabi and mustard on it. There were also many items that are difficult for elementary school children to eat, such as tsukudani and vinegared dishes. When we asked on the second night whether it could be changed to a toddler-friendly meal, we were told there would be an additional charge. If this had been explained in advance, we could have chosen from the beginning. Because the Onsen was so good, it was unfortunate that the meals were somewhat disappointing.

    It was comfortable.

I arrived at 5:30 PM, and the dinner time was kindly set for 7 PM, allowing me to relax in the bath before dinner. The dinner was delicious and very satisfying. The Room was clean, and breakfast offered a wide variety of side dishes, each of which was tasty—so much so that I almost ate too much. There were no major issues; however, the toothbrushes in the Room were a bit confusing as both my wife and I accidentally opened combs instead of toothbrushes, which felt wasteful. The next day, I visited Kurobe Dam and Tateyama. Since breakfast started at 7 AM, there was plenty of time to enjoy it without feeling rushed. Overall, I was very satisfied and would love to stay again!

    Adorable Breakfast

The staff were all very friendly and provided wonderful service. The Room felt slightly old but was still satisfactory. As I am getting older, I thought a small chair at the entrance would make it easier to put on shoes. Dinner was excellent in both presentation and taste, and I was pleasantly surprised by the breakfast served in a traditional box tray. Thank you for offering such a beautifully arranged meal instead of the usual buffet style seen nowadays.

    First time in Omachi!

Stayed for 2 nights from October 31st and had a very pleasant experience at this accommodation. The dining experience was particularly impressive, thanks to the two wonderful veteran gentlemen and two ladies who set an example of excellent hospitality. Despite the large number of guests in the dining area, they managed everything with just about three staff members, showcasing exceptional attentiveness and care. The meals offered a wide variety of dishes that were visually delightful and delicious to eat. Freshly fried tempura was served at just the right timing, which was a thoughtful touch—kudos to the chef for their meticulous attention to detail. Over our 2-night stay, both breakfast and dinner menus were entirely different each day, beautifully presented, and thoroughly enjoyable. The room was impeccably clean with large windows offering breathtaking views of the mountains and river—truly awe-inspiring scenery. While I felt that the bath might be slightly small, both the bathing area and changing room were spotless, making it a comfortable experience overall. The onsen left my skin feeling smooth and hydrated. Overall, this is an outstanding accommodation. As someone who goes on about 10 onsen trips annually, I can confidently say I would love to return in spring! Next time, I hope to explore more around Omachi town as well. Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality during this stay!

    Solo Male Travel

I stayed for one night on October 24th and 25th. The purpose of my stay was to heal my back pain and enjoy sightseeing. The accommodation was spacious, clean, and very beautiful. The staff greeted me with smiles and provided excellent service. The room, "Yuraku no Kan Sui," was spacious with an open-air bath that used natural water from the Alps instead of Onsen water. The bathwater felt soft and very pleasant. On the first floor, there was also a footbath, and the hotel's garden was beautifully maintained with a charming atmosphere. Both the large public bath and the adjacent open-air bath were truly wonderful. The Onsen water in Omachi Onsenkyo had a smooth texture that made my skin feel silky, and it seemed to work well for my back pain as well. Every meal I had was delicious with just the right portions. While all dishes were tasty, I especially enjoyed the rice and miso soup—they were exceptional! Perhaps it's because they use Shinshu miso from Nagano Prefecture to prepare them carefully. It was an accommodation I would love to visit again someday. Thank you very much!

    Relax and unwind.

I requested a shuttle service from Shinano-Omachi Station. The room was spacious and clean. There were ReFa products, plenty of amenities, and the facility was well-equipped. The onsen, including the open-air bath, was very relaxing. The sauna had a window with an outside view, which might have affected the temperature as it didn’t get very hot—slightly disappointing. It also seemed like there wasn’t a cold bath available. Both dinner and breakfast were extremely satisfying. Since it wasn’t a buffet style, I could enjoy everything without overeating, and all dishes were delicious. I particularly enjoyed the local Northern Alps Junmai sake for its unique flavor—it became my favorite! A hotel staff member kindly informed me that it’s sold at local supermarkets! The next day we visited Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route from Ogizawa; it took about 15-20 minutes by car, making access very convenient.

    Multiple Night Stay was great.

I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay on Friday and Saturday. The bath in the Room was very spacious, giving a sense of openness, and the pleasant scent of cypress made it the best private bath I have ever experienced. Since it was a Multiple Night Stay, I was worried that the meals might be repetitive, but neither dinner nor breakfast had any repeated dishes. I could feel the chef's dedication, and the meals were absolutely delicious. The footbath was also very relaxing, gently warming my body. I appreciated the attention to detail, such as providing cushions and towels for drying feet. This was my first time staying for a Multiple Night Stay, and with the added discount, I highly recommend it!

    The Finest Dashi

It was my first stay, and all the Japanese cuisine was incredibly delicious. The dishes using dashi were particularly outstanding. I think I’ll stay again just for the food next time. Also, the customer service was excellent. The only downside was that there was no notification when the taxi I requested arrived, which seemed to be due to a lack of proper communication during handover.

    Great value for money.

I have previously used IKYU to find luxury accommodations and enjoyed both sightseeing and the satisfaction of staying at such places. However, this time, I felt that the services I had taken for granted were not provided considering the price. The room's refrigerator was empty, the tea snacks were just cookies, and the welcome drink was minimal. While pricing may vary depending on the season, I discovered during my stay that there was a more cost-effective accommodation nearby ("○ no") which was also cheaper (not listed on IKYU). I regret not exploring options beyond IKYU a bit more. That said, the meals were appropriate and delicious, and I was very satisfied with the staff's hospitality. The only disappointment was in terms of cost performance.

    This is my third stay.

We stayed as three generations of three families. This was our third stay, and we always have a pleasant experience. The other families were also satisfied with the service, meals, and rooms. Even with small children, we felt warmly welcomed. The elementary school-aged kids enjoyed the variety of welcome drinks, foot baths, and game rentals. While not a brand-new facility, it is well-maintained and offers a comfortable stay at this hotel.

    My wishes were fulfilled.

I made the Reservation through the site this time, and although I requested a Room that was originally not available in the remarks section, I was deeply moved when my request was granted. The front desk staff provided excellent service, and the food was incredibly delicious. We traveled from Saitama Prefecture, and my wife and I found this Hotel to be such a wonderful place that we would love to stay here again. If we have another opportunity, we look forward to visiting again.

    The riverside view is stunning!

I was unsure which accommodation to choose in Omachi, but I decided on this hotel. Upon arrival, I unloaded my luggage from the car. It was a suitcase and two small bags, but I felt uncomfortable as the staff responsible for welcoming and guiding guests did not offer any assistance with the luggage. Perhaps it is a rule of the hotel not to assist with guests' belongings? However, if someone appears to be struggling with heavy luggage, even a little help or offering a cart would have been appreciated. Later, while waiting for my partner to park the car, I was told to wait on a chair. However, even after about 15 minutes had passed since parking was completed, no one called me back, so I went to the front desk myself and checked in. I don't understand why we were made to wait unnecessarily at that point. The restaurant staff were very kind and left a good impression on me. The room was spacious with great views outside. The bath facilities were also excellent. Since I had been looking forward to enjoying an onsen experience, the bath felt wonderful; even spaces like those for grooming after bathing were very comfortable. When traveling, being warmly welcomed at the entrance of an accommodation can immediately relieve fatigue from the journey. It would be nice if there were such welcoming gestures for guests staying here as well.

    Are you serious????

Second Stay This time, I stayed alone at the accommodation. When I checked in at night, there was no one at the front desk. After ringing the bell, I heard someone from inside say, "What a nuisance," and then they came out to assist me. Unbelievable, right? I thought to myself, "Then just stay at the front desk from the start," but I responded normally anyway. I couldn't help but wonder why I'm paying money to stay here and having such an unpleasant experience just for ringing a bell that says it's okay to use it. Even if that comment wasn't directed at me personally, it's not something appropriate for staff to say in the backroom while working in customer service.

It's a shame due to a slight lack of service.

The accommodation is wonderful in every aspect, and overall satisfaction is high. However, I would like to mention one disappointing point. I always have hot tea during meals. At any ryokan I've stayed at before, hot tea was always provided without issue. However, when I requested it as usual during the meal here, I was told it would only be served with dessert and my request was declined. This was very disappointing and disheartening. For such a lovely accommodation, this felt like a missed opportunity. Even if it's self-service, providing hot tea would likely be appreciated by older guests.

    Stayed at an affordable price.

The room and the private open-air bath were excellent, although it was not an Onsen. The yukata was too long for me at 148cm, even in the smallest size, and the stylish yukata didn't fit either. My husband found a smaller size than usual to be just right. The meals were reasonable for the price. However, the Shuttle Service was very helpful.

    Perfect for Alpine Route trips.

I live nearby, but this time I used this accommodation to guide my friends to the Alpine Route and Snow Corridor. It is a quiet accommodation located by the Kashima River, with clean and comfortable rooms, large baths, and private baths. My onsen-loving friend managed to enjoy the onsen four times during our short stay. The staff greeted us warmly, and the restaurant staff were particularly pleasant. Since we had an early departure in the morning, we appreciated having a dinner-only plan without breakfast. With its proximity to Ogizawa, it is an ideal location for an Alpine Route trip. My friends seemed very satisfied with their trip as well. Thank you for your hospitality!

The water heating facility was broken, which was disappointing.

Unfortunately, due to a malfunction in the hot water system, only cold water was available in the shower at the Onsen. The bathwater temperature was also low, making it difficult to enjoy the Onsen experience. (Perhaps the bath is usually set to a lukewarm temperature.) Although we were informed about the issue during check-in and still charged for the Hot Spring Tax, there was no update on repairs or an apology at check-out, which felt disappointing. That said, the Room was clean and offered a great view from the window. It’s unfortunate because everything else besides the Onsen experience was excellent. (Since it’s an Onsen Ryokan, I paid expecting to fully enjoy that aspect.)
