    It was a wonderful accommodation that made me want to come back again.

    There were a few areas where Room repairs seemed slightly behind, but drinks and towel amenities were well stocked, and the staff’s demeanor and service were excellent—I had a very comfortable stay. What especially stood out were the breakfast and dinner. “Meals made with local ingredients” are becoming standard at many Accommodations these days, but the cuisine here was without a doubt among the top three I’ve experienced across Accommodations and Hotels throughout The whole country. Shizuoka’s ingredients—starting with those from Suruga Bay—are outstanding to begin with, but it was clear that they further selected only the best and served them using superb techniques. I can see why there seem to be so many skilled chefs on staff. The restaurant design was also wonderful: you can view the river from every seat, and they finish the dishes right in front of you. I happened to book this Accommodation after seeing it in an IKYU email, but I would definitely like to return.

    An Accommodation with exceptional dining—perfect for a well-deserved treat and a stay you’ll want to repeat.

    The meals let you truly enjoy the natural flavors of the ingredients. Dinner was served deliciously, pleasantly, and at a great pace—from the first course of grated fresh ginger soup onward. Everything was excellent: the soup featured seasonal matsutake mushrooms, the sashimi tuna melted in your mouth, and the grilled dish let us enjoy both crispy and tender textures. We also enjoyed your signature “Fuwa-suki,” savoring the flavors of meat, tomato, and egg. Freshly fried, piping-hot tempura was brought straight from where it was prepared, followed by golden eye snapper sesame ochazuke and dessert—overall extremely satisfying. Breakfast was well balanced as well; like the tempura, the dashimaki tamago could be enjoyed freshly made. Afterward we could also have coffee we liked—nothing to complain about. Compared with other Accommodations in a similar price range, I feel your dining stands out. The guest Room and amenities had everything we needed, and the hospitality and service were excellent. There is also a free drink corner in the lobby, and an on-site spa if needed—almost perfect. I personally had no complaints; however, I deducted points only for the Onsen/bath because there is no large public bath (I believe this is stated on your website). When making a Reservation, guests may want to choose their Room carefully based on bath type and tub size to avoid dissatisfaction—this note is simply as a precaution. In any case, because the food was so good, I would like to visit again if I have another opportunity. I hope you will continue maintaining this quality. Thank you for providing such delicious meals and a comfortable stay.

    Exactly as expected!

    This was my third visit after a long time, and my first since the main building was completed after the renovation. This time, I stayed in Sanka. After being welcomed in the parking lot, we were guided to the lobby to check in. Previously (when staying in an annex), check-in was done in the Room and there were welcome drinks and hot towels, but this time there was a drink bar set up in the lobby and the welcome drink was self-service. At Hotels where you can use a lounge of a similar grade, it’s common to be offered a welcome drink separately from free drinks, so I was a little disappointed. The Room had a modern Japanese atmosphere and was spacious enough for two people—very comfortable. The bath temperature was just right, and I soaked three times. It felt amazing. The signature dish “Fuwasuki”! While it didn’t quite have the same impact as when I tried it for the first time, it was reliably delicious as always—and even better with wasabi! The other dishes also met expectations and we were very satisfied. If I had to say one thing, I’d be even more excited if the dessert menu changed occasionally. Thank you as well for remembering my husband’s disliked ingredients and accommodating them. The dining area has also been renovated; we originally had counter seating, but I thought that if we had been seated at the second-tier counter, the view might have been somewhat underwhelming… There were some disappointing points, but being seen off by the staff and chefs made this another stay that lived up to our expectations overall.     We were very satisfied.

    I have a physical disability and poor balance, so I can only move slowly with a cane. I truly appreciated how considerate and supportive the staff were. We stayed on the Anniversary Plan, and the complimentary half-bottle of sparkling wine was excellent. The private open-air bath also had handrails, so I was able to enjoy an Onsen for the first time in a long while. The meals were also outstanding.

    An Accommodation that Feels Like Home

    From the warm welcome on arrival to the heartfelt send-off at departure, everything was wonderful. I stayed at Unfufu for the first time to celebrate my mother’s birthday (we stayed in Suiryo). A staff member came to greet us as soon as we arrived at the parking lot. At check-in, they even prepared a birthday gift for my mother, which we truly appreciated. The Room was more spacious than it looked in the photos, and I was surprised it even had two toilets. There are many Accommodations with an open-air bath, but they are often small and disappointing; however, this one was large enough for three adults to relax comfortably, and we were able to soak while leisurely enjoying the view. After bathing, we cooled off on the terrace and completely lost track of time. Both dinner and breakfast seemed to use plenty of local ingredients, and everything was delicious. The rolled omelet at breakfast was exceptional. Each dish reflected the head chef’s care and passion for the ingredients. I’m glad I could fulfill my mother’s wish to stay somewhere with great food—she said she was extremely satisfied. Even though mornings must be busy, thank you very much for having the chefs come out from the kitchen to see us off when we departed. We spent meaningful time that helped us forget everyday hustle and bustle. Next time, I’d love to return with a “we’re home” feeling. One thing I noticed: the bathroom tiles are quite slippery, although they are very beautiful tiles. It felt slippery when entering from the open-air bath into the bathroom and when stepping out from the bathroom into the wash area. Since this is an Accommodation where adults come to relax—and many guests may be older—would you consider applying an anti-slip coating or similar treatment? My elderly mother also seemed to slip; thankfully it didn’t lead to a fall or anything serious, but it did make me worry.

    A Wonderful Accommodation in Every Way

    Thank you for taking care of us for one night. From the moment we walked from the parking lot into the Accommodation, it was wonderful and exciting. The front desk had a calm atmosphere, and the staff’s smiles were lovely; their explanations were clear and courteous. The Room was truly amazing, clean, beautiful, and exceptionally well designed. The open-air bath was also large, so we could relax and soak comfortably. The meals were delicious, and our whole family still can’t forget the famous fluffy sukiyaki. We were able to unwind. This is an Accommodation we would definitely like to stay at again.

    A blissful moment

    It had been a while since I last visited my favorite Unpuufu. No matter when I come, the delicious cuisine, comfortable Room, and the staff’s thoughtful, unobtrusive hospitality always make for a truly satisfying one-night, two-day trip. On the way home, my friend and I happily chatted on the train back to Tokyo about when we should visit again! Thank you for a delicious and enjoyable stay!

    Stay at Tsukihibiki

    Overall, I was satisfied with the staff, meals, open-air bath, Shuttle Service, and more, although there were a few minor concerns. What I liked Meals First of all, the food. Not only was everything delicious, but the timing of each course was paced to match the guest’s eating speed rather than being dictated by the kitchen. That meant I never had to wait an uncomfortably long time for the next dish, and I could enjoy the meal without losing momentum. In my case, dinner took about 1.5 hours—quite short considering kaiseki at a Ryokan often takes around 2.5 hours. Also appreciated: dinner times can be chosen every 30 minutes from 17:00 to 21:30, which offers much more flexibility than the typical two-seating system. Open-air bath The tub seemed to be about 160–170 cm in inner diameter—spacious enough to stretch out comfortably—and it is free-flowing hot spring water (kakenagashi), which was excellent. It was also nice that there is a parasol to create shade. Shuttle Service The driving was careful and smooth. It didn’t feel like sudden acceleration at all, so I could ride with peace of mind. What concerned me At check-in For first-time guests, it would have been helpful to have one more brief explanation—for example where the dining area is located and that breakfast time will be confirmed during dinner. Welcome sweets To be honest, having just one piece of rusk in a large basket felt a bit lonely. It seemed like the same container used for two people was used here as well, which made it look sparse. Since it’s likely an item from their parent company and costs are kept down anyway, I’d love to see either a slightly larger portion or a smaller container for solo guests so it doesn’t look so minimal. Room Although there is a wall between rooms, it felt like my garden connected with the neighboring Room (Akane-ka), and I worried that someone might be able to come and go via the garden area. Extending the wall might create some sense of enclosure, but personally I would prefer each Room fully separated so guests can feel secure and independent. Facility I noticed stains on the sofa and a moldy smell from the air conditioner (in the bedroom). That said—even with these points—I think this Accommodation suits people like me who want to stay in their Room once they’ve checked in. Since they change their menu every three months or so, I’d like to visit again in another season.

    If you’re looking to relax

    I visited to relax during my busy days and was mostly satisfied. It would have been nice to have a place inside the entrance where I could sit down to put on my shoes. Since I use a cane, I can’t wear geta, so I need a seat when putting on shoes. Thank you as well for helping me when I was looking for my medication.

    It was incredibly relaxing.

    Every time, I’m reminded what a truly wonderful place this is. The Onsen is excellent—gentle on the skin, perfectly temperature-controlled, and comfortable to soak in for as long as you like. The staff are also outstanding. I was very disappointed that the signature fluffy sukiyaki is no longer served in a hot pot, but the unlimited freshly grated wasabi is one of a kind—and for wasabi lovers, it’s unbeatable. I will definitely be back!

    An Accommodation you’ll want to return to again and again.

    This was my third stay, and each time it feels even more welcoming. This time, I found myself browsing IKYU’s Reservation site during my stay, thinking, “When can we come back next?” The service is truly comforting, and you can feel the warmth and kindness of the staff in so many moments. The Room was just the right size, and the views from the windows and terrace were very soothing. I enjoyed the Onsen many times without feeling worn out afterward, and all the amenities I needed were provided, so I could relax in complete comfort. Above all, the meals were outstanding. The portions were perfect, everything looked beautiful and tasted wonderful, and even the atmosphere of the dining area was a perfect 120 out of 100. You can really tell how carefully and delicately each dish is prepared. The next morning when we woke up, my husband’s first words were: “Last night’s meal was truly delicious.” The chefs also came to see us off at the end—thank you so much for doing that despite the heat; I felt sorry to trouble you, but it made me very happy. I truly recharged my energy here. We’ll be back!

    From the warm and kind welcome, this Accommodation made us feel truly cared for. The grounds were more spacious than expected, and we were able to relax slowly in the peaceful surroundings. The in-room facilities and amenities were excellent and well stocked, and the temperature of the open-air bath was perfect for me. I really appreciated that, as it’s disappointing when the water is too cool. The meals were carefully prepared using local ingredients, and the portions were just right. I wasn’t feeling well before arriving, but perhaps thanks to the scenery, food, and Onsen, I started to feel better. I’d love to return again in a different season.

    Check-in was at 3:00 PM and check-out at 11:00 AM, so I was truly able to relax.\nBoth dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious.\nEven traveling alone, I had a wonderful time without feeling self-conscious. There was a great selection of drinks, and the three refreshing types of sake that were chosen for me paired perfectly with the food.\nThe Room was clean and spacious, and I could unwind on the terrace—perhaps thanks to the mosquito coil. The Onsen temperature was a little lukewarm, so I kept using the faucet. Throughout my stay, all the staff made me feel comfortable with their lovely smiles.\nThis Accommodation is highly recommended for a luxurious solo Onsen trip.

    A Relaxing Obon Holiday

    Our previous Room was Ryusei, but this time we stayed in Suiryou. It has four beds and a large sofa, so we could relax comfortably. Having two toilets, an indoor bath, and two shower areas was very convenient. The open-air bath was also spacious and deep enough to soak up to our shoulders, which was great. After traffic and a long drive, we wanted to relieve leg swelling, so it would have been nice if there had been a massage chair. Last time in Ryusei, when we returned from dinner, mosquito coils had been set on the deck table by the open-air bath, but this time they were not set up. There was a ceramic incense holder as well, but it wasn’t prepared either, which was disappointing. One thing we would like improved is the wooden sandals: they are heavy and noisy, so we hope you can provide lighter ones. Next time we will stay with my mother-in-law; she has trouble with her legs and could fall with those sandals. Please provide safer wooden sandals suitable for elderly guests.

    Thank you for a relaxing stay.

    This was my first stay here. Just as other reviews said, it was a wonderful Accommodation filled with warm hospitality—perfect for easing the fatigue of everyday work. ・Room & amenities 　I loved the tasteful touches such as the carved wooden flooring and partitions. 　The lighting felt a little dim, so having a brighter spotlight-style light would be helpful for reading. ・Staff & service 　As soon as we arrived by car, we were greeted right away and guided to park—an excellent start to our stay. 　Every staff member impressed me with their posture, greetings, smiles, and professionalism. 　One suggestion: it may be worth strengthening regular patrols of the on-site corridors and parking area. 　※Around 8:00 a.m., there was a plastic bottle in the parking lot (possibly left behind by another guest?) that remained there until about 10:30. ・Baths 　The open-air bath with free-flowing natural hot spring water was spacious, clean, and incredibly relaxing—I ended up using it three times. 　One minor issue was that I couldn’t fix the shower head at an ideal angle. ・Facility & equipment 　The bed, futon bedding, and pillows were high quality and very comfortable. 　The Bluetooth speaker was a BOSE unit with great sound—excellent! 　The faucet lever in the washbasin area was stiff and difficult to operate. ■Dining 　Both quality and portion size were very satisfying. 　In particular, dinner sukiyaki, salt-grilled ayu sweetfish, and the tofu at breakfast were delicious. 　If I could ask for one more thing: it would be nice to have a service like take-away rice balls for when you get hungry later in the evening after dinner. ■In closing Now in my 50s, I travel several times a year seeking relaxation and visit Accommodations across The whole country—and this is without doubt an Accommodation I would love to stay at again. With costs rising everywhere, maintaining this level of service must take tremendous effort. (Even being seen off by the chefs when leaving left a lasting impression.)     A wonderful and charming Accommodation.

    After the rush of everyday life finally settled down, I decided to challenge myself with my first solo trip, hoping to relax somewhere I could hear the sounds of nature. Choosing this Accommodation was absolutely the right decision. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, and they took great care with my allergies. The Room was exactly what I had been hoping for the moment I stepped in—beautiful greenery through the window, yet a very modern design that made it easy to truly unwind. The bath temperature was also perfect for summer. I had wondered how dining alone would feel, but there was no need to worry at all—the meals were outstanding. I also requested acupuncture treatment, which was handled very carefully; my severe lower back pain eased so much that I could rest at night without any pain. Everything about this stay was wonderful, and I think solo travel may become a habit for me. I would love to visit in every season. Thank you very much.

    A welcoming and comfortable Accommodation filled with hospitality

    After an intense workload since April finally eased up, I stayed here as a treat to relax with a friend. I also added a 90-minute massage and had a truly restful time. As soon as our car arrived at the parking lot, the staff came running out to greet us in the heat, carefully helped with our luggage and guided us, and even saw us off in the heat at the end. Throughout our stay, there was nothing inconvenient or questionable at all—we were completely comfortable. Above all, every staff member greeted us with a warm smile and pleasant service that was truly soothing. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. Thank you very much.

    I was extremely satisfied and felt that the hospitality of the head chef and all the staff was outstanding. I don’t have any particular points for improvement, but the open-air bath was a little hot, and the edge of the bath felt rough and hurt to sit on—if it could be made a bit smoother, I think half-body bathing would be more comfortable. Also, as someone who enjoys drinks, I’d be happy if draft beer were available in the lounge. Thank you very much for your kind care; I would love to visit again.

    As soon as I entered the Room, I was greeted by birdsong and instantly transported into an extraordinary world. The atmosphere was wonderfully calm. Thankfully, despite the forecast, the weather was great, and the open-air bath in the Room was incredibly soothing and relaxing. The meals were outstanding—served at a solid counter table with a full glass front—and both the taste and portion size were just right. The staff’s service was exceptional, and I truly enjoyed a relaxing, wonderful time. Thank you very much. Just one small request… It would have been nice to have a small table next to the bed to place glasses, a phone, drinks, etc.

    The hospitality is wonderful.

    The staff’s hospitality was outstanding. The sofa in the Room was also comfortable and perfect for watching soccer. On the other hand, the Room felt dim, the indoor slippers were hard to walk in, and there were fishy odors lingering in parts of the building. The riverside walking path was breezy and refreshing, but a musty smell lingered in the Room washbasin area throughout our stay. As for the meals, both dinner and breakfast felt like a mix of hits and misses. We chose this Accommodation based on an article by a blogger, and it almost made us wonder if it was sponsored (definitely not!), but we were able to buy mackerel sushi at Shuzenji Station on the way home, so no complaints overall. Thank you for having us.

    The meals and the Onsen are excellent.

    The meals and the Onsen were wonderful. For dinner, we took a full two hours while enjoying the view of the Kano River flowing right in front of us. There was a wide variety of dishes, and everything was delicious. Breakfast was also very filling, and I was completely satisfied—even went back for seconds. The Onsen is available 24 hours a day, and since it was a hot season, I enjoyed using the indoor bath as a cold bath and going back and forth between it and the open-air bath many times. This may have been seasonal, but after bathing in the Onsen and returning to my Room, it felt quite hot. Since the air conditioner could not be adjusted, it would have been nice to have a fan. Perhaps because they value privacy, the service felt somewhat minimal overall, but when we left, even the head chef (?) came out to see us off. The open-air bath seems better suited to colder winter weather, so I would like to visit again at a different time of year.

    The more you visit, the more you’ll be amazed!

    Still not fully adjusted to the recent heat, I changed my plans at the last minute for a quick getaway. Relaxing in a cozy Room and soaking in the open-air Onsen bath in the Room—those are the moments when I truly think, “This is happiness.” There was a mirror installed in the washing area; I’m not sure if it was always there or added based on guest Reviews, but it showed the Accommodation’s sincere commitment to improvement. Amenities and in-room items were also more than sufficient—phone chargers, a KINUJO hair dryer, and more—nothing to complain about. The meals were as delicious as ever, and each dish reflected careful preparation by the chef. Every time I eat here, I find myself wanting to come back again soon. Service was perfectly balanced—attentive without being intrusive—and very comfortable. A refined Accommodation for adults who want to spend time slowly and quietly.

    I stayed here for the first time in April, and it was so wonderful that I returned three months later. I was fully satisfied with the consistently courteous service, the presentation of the meals, the portion size and quality, the timing of each course, and of course how delicious everything was. Since the dining area felt like it was reserved just for us and we were served by a female staff member, I was nervous at first and couldn’t fully focus on enjoying the food, but thanks to her thoughtful care we had a great time—thank you. This time I chose a different Room than last time, which brought a fresh sense of excitement. I also enjoyed the bath and was able to relax. I have a Hotel in Hakone that I visit regularly, but large Hotels with over 100 Rooms are crowded and tiring. From now on, I’ll be coming back here in different seasons. At check-out, even in the rain, several staff members saw us off while holding umbrellas—thank you very much. In the past I’ve been seen off by two people (the person who carried my luggage and a manager), but this was my first time being seen off by several people. Last time it moved me deeply; this time, because it was raining, I felt sorry for putting you through that. I hope to visit again next year.

    A Relaxing Getaway

    We stayed for three nights. We’ve stayed at various Ryokan for three to four nights, but Ufufu’s daily meals showed real creativity, and the head chef’s excellent sense was a level above other Ryokan and Hotels in the same class. All three days felt fresh and new, and it made us very happy. All of the staff were very kind and pleasant, allowing us to enjoy a comfortable stay. The in-Room Onsen was also very relaxing, and we were satisfied. The only disappointment was that the Room cushions smelled sweaty. We would like to stay again.

    60th Birthday Celebration

    I stayed here as a 60th birthday gift from my mother. This was my second stay, and the sound of the river was soothing when we arrived. The staff’s hospitality was excellent. The open-air bath has handrails, which made it safe and comfortable for my elderly mother to use. I was looking forward to a morning bath, but it rained, so that was disappointing. The meals were truly outstanding! Some of the tableware featured Mt. Fuji motifs, and it was a rare and enjoyable experience to dine side by side while looking out over the river surface. This is an Accommodation I would love to visit again.

    Highly satisfied

    First of all, the Onsen is wonderful. If you soak and warm up slowly, you’ll be heated through to the core—so much so that it takes quite a while for the sweat to stop afterward. No sauna needed! The service is not overbearing, yet it is polite and excellent. The meals focus on quality over quantity. It was an extremely satisfying stay.

    Trip to Izu

    Every June, my spouse and I take a trip to stay in a Room on the Izu Peninsula with an open-air bath. This year, we stayed at Tsukigase Onsen Unfufu - ufufu -. From the welcome at arrival to the send-off, the service was pleasantly unobtrusive and helped us relax. We initially made a Reservation for a second-floor Room but later Cancel the Reservation and changed it after seeing photos of the bath; it was spacious, and we were very satisfied with the open-air bath. We did have a little trouble operating the sink area and indoor bath controls. All of the meals were delicious, especially the soups and vegetable dishes. Since neither of us drinks much alcohol, we would appreciate more locally made soft drinks. Even if they cost more, as non-drinkers we would love adult-oriented soft drinks made with Shizuoka-grown fruits other than plum—such as watermelon, peaches, plums, or melon.
