    A luxurious accommodation surrounded by nature

    We stayed with my wife and two children (4 years old and 1 year old). Surrounded by greenery in a quiet environment, we didn’t encounter other guests and enjoyed a relaxing private time. The bath was spacious enough for all four of us to stretch out, and above all, the meals were exceptional!! My wife especially loved the grilled salted sweetfish. At first, I wondered why Nasu beef was served as fillet cutlets instead of steak, but it turned out to be incredibly delicious!! The morning yuba dish was also gentle and comforting. Thank you to the staff who maintained our privacy while being kind to our children! We will definitely stay again!!

    Our child suddenly decided to go the day before. We inquired with little hope, but you kindly accepted, and we are truly grateful. Thank you so much. We were looking forward to our stay as the reviews were highly rated. As soon as we entered the room, my husband was absolutely thrilled with it. I might have seen him that excited for the first time ever! The accommodation is surrounded by nothing much, and the only shop nearby was at a neighboring ryokan of the same group, but there was no need to buy anything extra. The amenities and even drinks and snacks in the refrigerator were plentiful—so much that we couldn’t finish them all (including alcohol, water, juice, pudding—all without any additional charges). Above all else, the bath was spacious with areas where you could lie down in the tub; we enjoyed multiple baths during our stay. Plenty of bath towels were provided along with a place to dry them afterward. The dining area was separate from our room/building. When it started raining heavily around dinner time—a short walk away—we mentioned getting wet might be unavoidable; however, umbrellas were thoughtfully prepared at the entrance so we could move without getting soaked. The meals had generous portions; while we couldn’t finish everything during dinner service (especially rice), they kindly made onigiri for us as a late-night snack instead! What stood out most though wasn’t just balanced delicious food—it’s how friendly & attentive staff members like one particular lady assigned impressed us deeply through her kindness throughout interactions. During dinner when my son needed tissues due allergies-related nasal issues—they lent some immediately—and next morning breakfast table already pre-set included tissues anticipating needs ahead unprompted showing genuine care towards guests’ comfort overall experience! This trip's theme focused relaxing spending quality personal downtime within hotel premises itself yet left wishing extended longer stays possible given how wonderful entire visit turned out being here! Highly recommendable accommodation worth revisiting again someday soon hopefully! Thank You So Much!!

    I love this accommodation.

    As a beginner with only a few stays, I have previously stayed in Accommodation No. 9 and No. 8, both of which had wonderful and unique rooms. This time, I stayed in Accommodation No. 10. The room was spacious enough for three people, and the white-decorated pillars and floor posts in the Japanese-style room changed my perception of traditional Japanese rooms for the better—it was truly inspiring. Stepping out onto the terrace, I enjoyed the natural wooden flooring along with the sound of flowing water from the river and a refreshing forest bath that allowed me to relax deeply. Of course, I also loved having access to our private sauna, cypress cold bath, and onsen open-air bath attached to our room. The meals were absolutely delicious both in the morning and evening! Since food is one of the joys of traveling, my gratitude goes out to all staff involved in preparing such wonderful dishes. However, upon returning home and attempting to make a reservation for New Year's right away, I saw "Waiting List" displayed... Naturally, I immediately registered on it but am left wondering if I'll secure a spot... I had planned to spend this year's year-end holidays relaxing at your accommodation again; unfortunately, those plans are now uncertain. Personally speaking—while this is an accommodation I'd highly recommend—I must admit it's tough when reservations become harder for me too (just my rambling thoughts—please feel free to ignore them) (laughs). On another note: My daughter was thrilled that some staff remembered her name during our stay! Thanks to everyone’s kindness; we were able to enjoy our time comfortably throughout. Lastly: Wishing all staff members good health and continued success from the bottom of my heart!

    I had a relaxing time!

    While planning a trip to Nasu for a mini honeymoon and recovery, I came across a wonderful accommodation and made a reservation immediately. Although we got lost on the way and felt anxious, upon arrival, the accommodation had such a lovely atmosphere, and the staff warmly welcomed us, leaving a great impression! We stayed in Room No. 9, which was spacious with a semi-open-air bath that provided a private space to relax. The meals were fantastic; the staff who served us during both dinner and breakfast were amazing, and the food was so delicious that my spouse and I became completely captivated! Next time, we plan to bring our parents along for another relaxing stay. Thank you very much!

    It was a wonderful time.

    It felt like a serene villa in a Western-style mansion, furnished with tasteful furniture. The room's bath was spacious and bathed in soft sunlight, making it truly luxurious. Although it was just a one-night stay on the way back from Akita, I would love to stay for multiple nights next time to relax more. One slight disappointment was that the dining area could have been designed to be quieter, which would have matched the image of the room better. The young foreign staff member who assisted us provided courteous and pleasant service, and other staff members were also well-trained despite their youth. The combination of classic accommodation and fresh hospitality made for a wonderful experience. The meals were delicious; however, there were limited local wine options, which makes me wonder about choices during a multiple night stay.

    It was a great accommodation.

    The public bath in the annex was small, but the room's bath was spacious with a great view—absolutely fantastic. The water was hot, so I adjusted it to a lukewarm temperature and enjoyed it comfortably. However, the hallway outside the room felt uncomfortably warm. The meal was delightful, especially the asparagus and caviar appetizer and grilled sweetfish with salt. The room had few outlets, making it inconvenient as I couldn't place my smartphone by my pillow. The bed was very comfortable to sleep on. The junmai daiginjo sake from IKYU.com felt a bit heavy for my taste. Overall, it was quite a nice accommodation!

    I love this accommodation.

    This was my second stay, and just like the first time, it was a very comfortable trip. The Onsen bath here is spacious with excellent water quality. Dinner was deliciously prepared, making the most of the ingredients, and this time the ayu fish was especially outstanding. The staff were friendly and pleasant. If I had to mention one thing, it would be that the sofa wasn't very comfortable to sit on and there wasn't a bed. I would love to visit again if I have another opportunity.

    The bath in Room 9 is exceptional!

    We stayed in Room No. 9 during our trip with three friends. Despite causing some inconvenience with last-minute reservation changes, directions upon arrival, and a small issue with insects in the room, we were grateful for the polite and attentive assistance provided. The welcome drinks & sweets, complimentary beverages, and meals were all delicious and perfectly captured the seasonal charm of Nasu Highlands. Room No. 9 exceeded our expectations; the bath was particularly outstanding—one of the best we've experienced among all accommodations we've stayed at. If we visit again, we'd love to stay in Room No. 9 once more. While having plenty of spare towels was appreciated, we found it inconvenient that there was no place to hang wet towels. Adding towel racks, hangers, or a towel warmer would be very helpful. This trip created wonderful memories for us, and we look forward to visiting this accommodation again. Thank you!

    It was an excellent accommodation!!

    We recently stayed here for a reunion with our middle and high school classmates. Everyone was impressed by the luxury of the facility. We are grateful for the courteous service provided by the staff. However, if you are considering attracting more guests from central Tokyo, it may be necessary to reconsider the shuttle service options.

    I had a relaxing time.

    We stayed in 2 Rooms with dinner and breakfast included for a multi-generational trip. The staff were very kind, the meals were all delicious, and we appreciated the special preparations for the children. One of the Rooms was on the first floor and separate from the other, which allowed us to relax without worrying about noise even when the children ran around a bit. The different styles of each Room were also interesting, making us want to visit again. Thank you very much for this wonderful experience!

    I stay at many Ryokan every month, and this one is definitely in my top three. The staff were truly considerate, and their service was excellent—attentive yet with just the right distance, so it never felt tiring. The cuisine felt like carefully refined Japanese food; dishes that moved me both visually and after tasting them. It made me want to come back to enjoy the seasonal menus in every season. Everything was delicious, and the meals were also fun—simply outstanding. For the Room, I chose “Nine,” and it was indeed wonderful. The bath was amazing, and although I usually can only sleep on a bed, the bedding here had a mattress that fit my body perfectly, so I stayed very comfortably. I’ve already made my next Reservation as well. This is a 5-star stay for me.

    We look forward to welcoming you again!

    I visited with my 88-year-old mother. There were stairs to the Room, so we moved slowly and carefully. Although we had anticipated this and it wasn’t an issue, the staff kindly noticed and offered to switch us to a Room with fewer stairs. Since we stayed for two nights, this change was very helpful. The meals were incredibly delicious, and I ended up eating more than usual—it was almost hard to work up an appetite again! I would love to visit again when going to Nasu. Thank you very much!

    The Onsen had excell...

    The Onsen had excellent water quality. It may feel hot at first, but you can adjust the temperature by adding water from the provided faucet. The meals were outstanding in both quality and quantity. We were touched by the thoughtful gesture of providing left-handed chopsticks for our left-handed daughter. Although many of the staff seemed young, their service level was impressive. We would love to visit again if we have the chance.

    Everything is wonderful.

    This property is perfectly described as wonderful. No matter what we conveyed, we received exemplary responses, allowing us to truly relax. It is such a wonderful property that you will want to plan your next stay on your way home. The food and the bath were also excellent.

    Wonderful Stays

    It was a calm and comfortable New Year in a stylish Japanese-style architecture. I wouldn't recommend it for elderly people or those who want to avoid climbing stairs, but the staff's constant attentiveness made me feel happy and at ease. The timing of the meals was just right, neither too early nor too late, which was pleasant. I was able to enjoy seasonal dishes deliciously. I definitely want to visit again for a summer retreat!

    The Onsen was excellent.

    The room had stains on the walls and dead insects in the window gaps, which was very concerning. Also, I think there are too many steps in the room. The Onsen in the room was spacious, and the quality of the spring water was excellent. Personally, I wished for slippers in the toilet and a samue as room wear. The dinner used very good ingredients and was very delicious, but I would have preferred simple rice with pickles and miso soup instead of rice with thick sauce at the end. The rice with thick sauce was too rich to eat at the end, which was a waste. I think the price is too high for this level of service.

    It was a Room for ten. The building and furniture have a tasteful charm and are well considered. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious without being overwhelmed by the quantity of food on each plate. The complimentary four-go bottle of sake was also nice! The service was attentive yet unobtrusive, maintaining just the right distance. Although it was a direct in-and-out visit, I would like to visit again at a leisurely pace and explore the surroundings next time.

    I will definitely stay here again!

    The staff were very pleasant, and we had a wonderful time. The young lady who attended to us was very considerate, kind, cheerful, and charming. When we went to the main building's large bath late at night, she kindly escorted us from the annex. She offered to pick us up on the way back, but we intended to return to our room on our own. However, as we walked through the lobby and along the road, she quickly came running with a flashlight to escort us, which moved our family deeply. Since it is dangerous to go to the dining area from the annex at night due to the lack of lighting, it might be better to contact the staff before moving. I almost tripped on the stairs in the dark, but the young lady hurriedly came with a flashlight to escort us. It was raining a little, so she also provided an umbrella, showing great attention to detail. I love onsens and have visited many places, but the cuisine here was so delicious that I can say it was the best. The beef's natural flavor was enhanced by the excellent cooking method. The interior and rooms were stylish, clean, and spacious, almost perfect. The only downside was that the room lighting was too moody and dim. The area where we opened our suitcase was dark, so we used our phone's light to find things. The living room light was not too dim, but it was insufficient for studying, so my daughter, who brought homework, studied in the bathroom, which was bright enough, possibly because it's a place for makeup. The onsen in the room was also clean and pleasant, with fluffy towels and plenty of outlets. They provided several sizes of yukata for children. We were lent two phone chargers. Since it was Nasu, we thought it would be cold and brought warm indoor clothes, but the air conditioning worked well, so we could stay in short sleeves in the room. The refrigerator was stocked with bottled beer, apple juice, and water, which we could drink freely. The herbal tea and matcha pound cake served upon arrival were very delicious. Although tea and coffee were available, I was disappointed that there was no tea since I can't drink coffee. There was no tea at the dining area either. It would have been nice if drinks were provided in a free drink format at the rest area next to the annex entrance. Next time, I plan to bring a portable desk lamp and tea.

    The building of this Stays is very much to my liking. As with other Rooms I've stayed in the past, the newly established Room this time was also good. The materials, color scheme, and every corner are well designed, and the furnishings are tastefully arranged. The dining has changed from in-Room dining to a newly established dining area, but this was also good, including the meals. If I may be greedy, I wish there were a large public bath and an open-air bath, but it is such a good Stays, starting with the staff, that I would like to stay many times.

    It was a very satisfying stay.

    I stayed for one night in November. I visited by car, but I couldn't reach the destination with the navigation system and had to call several times, yet the staff responded wonderfully. The staff's service was polite but not overly so, making the interaction very comfortable. Since there aren't many rooms, I expected this, but I was able to enjoy a leisurely and delicious meal at the dining area, and they also handled allergies and dislikes smoothly. The room was Room Six, and it had simple yet tasteful furniture, allowing for a very relaxing stay. I enjoyed the bath so much that I took it four times, and the view of the autumn leaves through the lattice window made it a seasonally pleasant stay.

    When asked "How was ...

    When asked "How was it?" at checkout, I mentioned that the artworks placed throughout the facility, the unique interior, and the tableware for meals were wonderful, and that the Onsen was also good. If I had been asked, "Please let us know if there are any points for improvement," I would have mentioned that I assumed I could stroll through a pruned garden on a 2,000 tsubo site, that at this price I assumed measures were taken to prevent conversations during meals from being overheard by other guests, that blue tarps were visible from the entrance and Room, and that I wished measures had been taken to hide the cars in the parking lot and old structures. That being said, I felt that the staff were working hard to provide good service and that the owner's dedication was evident, and I hope it will continue to improve in the future.     I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay in October 2024. The Room had a neat and simple appearance, which was very relaxing. The dishes I was looking forward to were beautifully presented, and each one was beyond words of "delicious," leaving me in awe. I am filled with gratitude for the hospitality of the chef and all the staff. I am eager to visit again. Thank you very much.

    The best renovation

    I visited for the first time in 17 years. It was the best accommodation in Japan for me, and I was anxious about whether the renewal had improved it or not, but my worries were completely dispelled. It was a positive renewal that retained the previous charm. The transition from in-room dining to restaurant meals exceeded my expectations by far, making it a place worth visiting for the meals alone. It was an excellent stay. I thought it would be nice if the amenities included a more comprehensive range of body care products.
