    The open-air bath with a view of the beautiful sea and starry sky was wonderful!

    I stayed with my elderly parents and aunt. I chose the "Byakurin no Ma" room after being drawn to the beautiful view of Okinawa's sea from the room as shown on the website. During low tide, it felt a bit underwhelming, but at high tide, the blue sea stretched out just as depicted online. Sitting by the sunken kotatsu in the room, it looked like a painting—truly stunning. We were also blessed with good weather and enjoyed a beautiful sunset. In addition, we could bathe under a star-filled sky in the private open-air bath exclusive to "Byakurin no Ma." However, accessing this bath requires climbing narrow stairs, which might be challenging for elderly guests. Also, since you need to wear sandals while climbing up, extra caution is necessary. As for meals, as mentioned in other reviews, they were not entirely satisfying in some aspects. The seasoning was inconsistent—some dishes were overly salty while others were too bland—and I believe improving this would enhance guest satisfaction further. Additionally (though this might be due to restaurant layout constraints), during breakfast we were seated at one of three four-person tables or one six-person table on one side of the restaurant; all other tables seemed occupied by what appeared to be group tours? On the opposite side of the restaurant there were only about four two-person tables with ample space between them; however our area felt quite cramped and noisy making it difficult even for us adults let alone my elderly parents/aunt who couldn’t hear explanations about food properly either! Adjusting seating arrangements better accommodating different party sizes OR staggering breakfast times avoiding overcrowding simultaneously large groups altogether could help improve overall dining experience significantly! Amongst many Resort Hotels across Okinawa offering modern amenities galore instead here’s unique charm blending traditional Japanese Ryokan-style atmosphere featuring tatami-matted rooms—a refreshing change indeed much appreciated thank-you!

    Unfortunately.

    We stayed at this accommodation as we wanted to visit the beautiful building and take advantage of the discounted price. However, we were disappointed overall. The private bath we had been looking forward to had little water and was visible from outside. While the meal portions were just right for us older guests, they felt somewhat lacking. Additionally, the staff during breakfast seemed unmotivated, leaving us with an underwhelming experience overall.

    An Okinawa-style property.

    On the third day of our stay in Okinawa, we stayed at this property. The exterior is made of white stone with orange tiles. The hallway leading to the front desk is a pathway for the sea breeze. The scent of the sea is refreshing and pleasant. Check-in offers an ocean view right before your eyes. The emerald green sea is beautifully visible, leaving you in awe. Of course, the room also has an ocean view; sitting on the terrace with a beer allowed us to fully enjoy Okinawa time. In addition, banyan trees are growing in the courtyard as if trying to break through the building, exuding wildness and evoking thoughts of "Yanbaru." Meals feature Okinawan ingredients both morning and evening, which were deliciously enjoyed. Vegetables, meat, and fish from Okinawa are truly tasty. The hospitality was friendly and made for a pleasant stay that left us satisfied. We will visit again.

    An overwhelming extraordinary experience

    Unlike the resort areas of Okinawa, this property is located in a region with World Heritage sites in the south, offering a different kind of luxury experience. The location of the property is somewhat difficult to find, but this adds to its hidden charm, making it ideal for those who wish to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. You can enjoy an experience worth its price. We especially recommend using the private bath on the rooftop. During the day, you can relax with views of the beautiful sea and endless blue sky, while at night you can gaze at a sky full of stars. If I had any requests, it would be nice to have recommendations for drinks that pair well with meals or guided tours around this lovely property. I wanted to take my time exploring inside. Honestly, I was so satisfied that I almost don't want others to know about it; it was such an exceptional experience. I will definitely use it again. Thank you very much.

    The bath, the delicious meals, the never-tiring view of the sea, and the way the staff interacted with us all make me smile when I remember this Property. Thank you for promptly accommodating our request for an extra comforter. We were able to relax and unwind. I would like to visit again on my next trip to Okinawa.

    The best Ryokan

    I had been curious about Hyakuna Garan for a long time! I finally got to go, and as expected, the Room and food were great, but my daughter got a fever and felt unwell. Thanks to the staff's consideration, they provided rice porridge, delivered meals to the Room, and even gave us water and cooling gel sheets. We were really well taken care of. It was a sad trip, but I am truly glad we stayed at Hyakuna Garan. Thank you very much.

    Please be considerate of secondhand smoke.

    Just as I was enjoying breakfast on the terrace in the refreshing morning air, there was cigarette smoke and odor. It completely ruined the mood. Is smoking allowed on the terrace seats? Is the hotel being marketed as a smoking-friendly property? Or is it being marketed as a property where you can enjoy the vast natural sea and environment below? As someone who wants to fully enjoy the wonderful nature, I would like to request an early improvement to a completely smoke-free property.

    A view beyond this world

    The warm room, which allows you to enjoy the changes over time, uses a lot of natural materials and has a simple interior like a relative's house in the countryside. The atmosphere was very Okinawan and personally, I found it wonderful. The ingenuity of integrating the interior and exterior is excellent. The view from there is breathtaking, and whether from the balcony, moon-viewing platform, or the open-air bath on the fifth floor, the scenery is spectacular. It feels like being on a ship, with the endless sea and sky. During the 2-night, 3-day stay, I enjoyed various views: sunny, cloudy, rainy, moonlit, sunrise, and sunset. Everything was perfect. Just for that, staying at this property was worth it. Additionally, the building's exterior, entrance, hall, and restaurant are characterized by Ryukyu limestone walls and an Okinawan red tile roof, with the exterior featuring Okinawan plants full of vitality and statues that are well-balanced, making it an attractive and unique building. However, as is the case with any hotel, there is a difference in staff levels, and I hope the lower levels will be improved. The appeal and understanding of the cuisine varied significantly depending on the restaurant staff. Regarding the food, everything was above average. It was delicious, but not quite moving. I think having a signature dish for this property would make it even more appealing. Finally, choosing this property for my long-awaited trip to Okinawa was a great decision. I now have more properties I want to stay at. Thank you for the 2-night, 3-day stay.
