    Relaxing Accommodation

    The room had large windows, and the open-air bath and terrace offered a stunning view of Beppu Bay. I stayed on the fifth floor of Harumi, and since all rooms seem to have an ocean view, I believe any room would provide a relaxing stay. I purchased souvenirs at the shop, but with a bit more variety or creativity, it could enhance satisfaction even further. Overall, it was a wonderful accommodation.

    We were upgraded to ...

    We were upgraded to a better room as it was available. The view from the room offered a stunning ocean panorama, and at night, the stars were beautifully visible. The staff provided courteous service. The Onsen had just the right temperature and was very relaxing. For dinner, we chose seafood, but it turned out to be more like Chinese cuisine, which felt a bit off. However, the breakfast buffet had a wide variety of delicious options, making up for it slightly. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay.

    Excellent!!

    The Onsen features natural free-flowing hot spring water, and the meals were delicious with generous portions. The service was excellent, the room was clean, and the views from both the room and the bath were stunning. I would definitely love to visit again!

    Thanks to the high-quality service provided during my stay, I was able to enjoy a stress-free experience. Check-in was conducted in a relaxing lounge setting, followed by a welcome drink served at an atmospheric terrace seat. The room I was guided to by the staff was spacious and clean, featuring a terrace with a stunning view of Beppu Bay and a semi-open-air bath that felt truly refreshing. The large public bath area was also spotless, with plenty of towels available. It included indoor baths, open-air baths, an open-air jet bath, as well as a spacious sauna and cold-water bath. There were outdoor relaxation chairs and separate spaces for changing clothes and using hair dryers, ensuring comfort throughout. For dinner at the seafood restaurant "Eitaro," we enjoyed the basic course menu which exceeded our expectations in taste. The fresh sashimi seemed to have been taken directly from the live tank and paired perfectly with Kyushu soy sauce—though non-sweet soy sauce options were also available. Other dishes showcased excellent flavors and quality ingredients in their composition. Breakfast offered an extensive buffet selection that made it hard to choose what to eat! The variety reflected pride in local ingredients and regional cuisine. Despite being full, I couldn’t resist trying their curry featuring slices of unusually large shiitake mushrooms that added both flavor depth and great texture. Salads were prepared deli-style upon request while maintaining 3C (Cold, Clean & Crispy), allowing guests to mix favorite ingredients topped with kabosu dressing for delightful freshness. As part of the Diamond benefits program, we received ¥3,000 worth of vouchers for use within the accommodation facilities—perfectly utilized on drinks during dinner or souvenirs afterward. Nearby Shonin Park offers sand baths along with stylish shopping areas filled with energy—a lively neighborhood worth exploring. Overall high-quality accommodations; I would love to stay here again!

    Sea! Sea! I love the sea!!

    Welcome drinks (I had sparkling wine, my husband had beer) were enjoyed on a lovely sofa while gazing at the sea and being soothed by the sound of waves. We were guided to our Room and mesmerized again by the horizon; though it was so spacious that we felt a bit overwhelmed (haha), we took a nap on the balcony couch with the sound of waves. Dinner was paella—absolutely delicious. The open-air bath in the large public bath offered a view at sea level, pure bliss—I could have stayed there forever. Breakfast was varied, and I tried shiitake mushroom curry for the first time. Everything was so tasty that I ended up eating too much! All of the staff had wonderful smiles, making me want to visit again.

    It was a wonderful Hotel.

    Stayed in a Resort Twin Room on September 20. While the room had its own bath, the public bath with a sauna offered great views and perfect temperature control for the sauna. Dinner was casual French, and I appreciate the immediate adjustment made for my food allergies. Overall, this is an excellent Hotel that exceeds expectations in every aspect. I would definitely return if given the chance.

    Finally, I was able to stay at the dream accommodation SEIKAI.

    I had been wanting to stay at SEIKAI for a long time, and I finally got the chance. As expected from the AMAN group, dinner was delicious. Breakfast was served in two strict shifts, so I couldn't relax as much as I wanted. The bath in the room was too hot and required adding water before use, which might be good for hygiene purposes. The staff's service was good, but check-in wasn't very smooth. I think this is an adult-oriented hotel with a resort-like atmosphere that you can't miss when visiting Beppu. The room had a closet, making it neat and comfortable to stay in. The furniture and bed were made of rattan, showing attention to detail and providing a relaxing experience. I would definitely like to return again if possible.

    Disappointing customer service

    Breathtaking onsen, delicious meals that are more than enough to satisfy, and attentive service made for a truly meaningful stay. However, during breakfast the next day at Gen, the staff member who served us was very disappointing. Aside from explaining the dishes, they were silent with no smile, and every time they came to serve food, there was a tense atmosphere. As they seemed experienced, I had hoped to hear various stories about Oita but was truly disappointed. I noticed similar reviews before and it seems this issue has not been addressed yet.

    The meals were excellent, but the Room was disappointing.

    This was a Hotel I loved so much that I used it every year. Last year, I even received an upgrade to Gahama, but unfortunately, I couldn't go as it was the day my father passed away. This year, I had been looking forward to making up for that. I reserved a U-type Room that combined staying in Sora's building and dining at Eitaro. While I expected the Room to be as great as before, the atmosphere and air felt slightly eerie and uncomfortable. It was unsettling enough that I went to a nearby convenience store to buy salt. The meal at Eitaro was excellent; however, returning to the Room felt unpleasant, and sleeping soundly on the bed seemed impossible. So, I requested a Change of Reservation at the front desk. They prepared another Room on the same floor where I managed to sleep somehow; still, this new Room also had an old musty smell which was disappointing. If possible, they could have offered me a different floor's Room instead to refresh my mood entirely. Considering it's not an inexpensive Hotel, some thoughtful care would have been appreciated. While I'm grateful for their effort in Changing my Reservation promptly, it felt lacking when even the front desk staff didn't seem particularly apologetic about it. In future visits hereafter, I'll likely stay at another Hotel while enjoying meals at Eitaro instead.

    A lovely accommodation overlooking Beppu Bay

    All rooms offer ocean views overlooking Beppu Bay, allowing for a relaxing and tranquil stay. The lukewarm baths during the summer were perfect for extended soaks. The meals were also delicious.

    For the price...

    During the peak of the holiday, it cost around 110,000 yen for one night with two meals included. However, the quality of dinner was really disappointing, especially the main dish—low-temperature cooked Japanese beef. It was just a chunk of fat. I couldn't understand why it had to be cooked at a low temperature. Breakfast was a buffet and very enjoyable. Dinner fell short compared to breakfast. The Room and bath were excellent.

    Company Retreat

    We stayed here for a company trip. The atmosphere of the water lounge upon arrival was wonderful. The open-air bath in the Room had no partitions, offering a direct view of the ocean, which was amazing. The large public bath also allowed you to enjoy the same ocean view and even had a sauna—absolutely fantastic. For dinner, we tried Japanese cuisine for the first time but found it less recommendable. However, Western cuisine was delicious and is highly recommended instead. For breakfast, we chose Japanese cuisine again; it was prepared by a different chef from dinner and turned out to be very tasty. The service staff were friendly with smiles, but they didn’t clear glasses or cups when bringing new drinks, leaving our table cluttered with coasters. While the view from our Room was stunning, there were no complimentary snacks or sweets provided in the Room. The fridge only contained water, which felt slightly underwhelming considering the price point. Choosing one of their more affordable Rooms might offer better value for money overall. The farewell service was very polite; they even took photos for us—much appreciated! As I love baths so much, I would definitely like to visit again!

    Breakfast Buffet

    I enjoyed the breakfast buffet. However, for some reason, guests need staff assistance to get salad and shumai. I always request that the salad be made self-serve, but this has been completely ignored. This time, there were no staff members at the salad or shumai stations for a considerable amount of time—not just a moment. It’s inconvenient to wait so long during busy mornings when time is limited.

    Both Harumi and Gahama Terrace

    A perfect accommodation for relaxing and enjoying Onsen in a guest room with a semi-open-air bath. Both the room and facilities were very impressive. The large public bath at Harumi offers an open-air bath with a stunning view of the sea, making it especially enjoyable on sunny days. It was refreshing, and I will definitely visit again!

    Full of tropical resort vibes

    The staff provided a warm and pleasant welcome, thank you. The French Kaiseki cuisine was visually stunning, and the bread was so delicious that I almost asked for seconds. I had a massage, which was very relaxing and skillfully done, leaving me delighted. The Room was spacious and equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay, offering a truly soothing experience. My husband and I talked about wanting to visit again as we headed home.

    Infinity Open-Air Bath and Delicious French Cuisine

    It was a very satisfying stay. The infinity open-air bath was so relaxing that it made me forget the real world. The quality of the water seemed excellent, as my wounds healed quickly. Dinner was French cuisine, and every dish was absolutely delicious. My husband doesn't drink alcohol, but there were non-alcoholic pairings available, so we could enjoy it together despite our different preferences. The breakfast buffet had such a wide variety that it was hard to choose what to eat. At the parking lot, a male staff member kindly took many photos for us, and we got plenty of great shots. The Hotel building itself might be old, but it has been renovated so well that you don't feel its age at all. I would love to visit again!

    The room's bath is excellent!

    The Room was spacious, almost too large for three people. There was plenty of space to place our luggage, making it very comfortable. The beds were big enough for three people to sleep on two of them. However, the air conditioning seemed to be malfunctioning as it remained hot even with cooling on, causing us to wake up multiple times during the night due to the heat. The public bath was always surprisingly empty, allowing us to relax at our own pace. It was also nice that there were few small children around. While we saw many foreign guests in the dining area, most had good manners which made for a pleasant experience. Near the public bath is a well-equipped post-bath lounge; however, there were no drinks provided and its proximity to a smoking room meant there was a noticeable smell of tobacco—this felt like a missed opportunity. Perhaps converting it into a non-smoking area and offering complimentary drinks would enhance the experience. The most disappointing part of our stay was arriving around 2 PM due to flight schedules when check-in time is at 3 PM. Although we had to wait quite some time as our Room wasn’t ready yet—which is understandable—it might have been better if we were directed earlier towards enjoying welcome drinks on the terrace instead of just waiting around. At that time, only young or foreign staff members seemed available and they appeared unable to handle such situations flexibly or adaptively. For dinner at Eitaro restaurant, unfortunately, we couldn’t get seating with an outside view which was disappointing; however, both the food and alcohol were delicious and reasonably priced while staff members were kind and attentive. We would love another opportunity to visit again in the future!

    There is an issue with the private open-air bath.

    The private open-air bath lacked handrails, making it very difficult to use and preventing me from enjoying the bath. This significantly reduced my overall experience. For elderly guests or young children, there is a risk of falling, which is dangerous. Immediate improvements are strongly recommended.

    Everything is excellent at the Hotel!

    We stayed at the accommodation with our family in spring. The hotel room was very spacious and clean, and we enjoyed a stunning view of the sea from the terrace. In the evening, we had a seafood course meal, which was both delicious and accompanied by excellent service. At the large public bath's open-air onsen, we relaxed while admiring the ocean view. It was a perfect stay, and we would love to visit again!

    This was a repeat visit, but the first time since the renovation. The Onsen and room were excellent. I forgot my smartphone charger and asked for one, but there was no Type-C available. When I contacted them to borrow a hair iron, they didn’t have one either. Breakfast was a buffet style. It felt more like a Business Hotel, which was disappointing. I chose a nice room and it was for my mother’s birthday, but it lacked the thoughtful touches from before, which made me feel sad. I used to recommend this place to others all the time, but I’m disappointed this time around.

    Stayed with a friend. Dinner was a Japanese course meal, but the main meat dish was disappointing. It was mostly fat and inedible. I’ve stayed at many accommodations as I love traveling, but this was the first time I left the main meat dish untouched. Since I was with a friend, I didn’t say anything, but if I had been with family, it would have been bad enough to request a replacement. While rising food costs might be challenging, this is something that should be improved. The room and large public bath were average—neither good nor bad. The view was nice thanks to the good weather.

    A lovely Hotel with an ocean view

    It was my first stay in Beppu, Oita. The hotel had a beautiful ocean view as seen on the website, and the lobby was also lovely. The welcome drink of kabosu was sweet and sour, and very delicious. The room we were guided to had a stylish wood-grain design with a sense of cleanliness, making it comfortable and relaxing. The bedroom could be partitioned with a door when sleeping, allowing for a good night's sleep. I was looking forward to the onsen in the room as well, so I enjoyed it multiple times while listening to the sound of waves; I also used the large bath and was very satisfied with the onsen experience. We made a reservation at Eitaro for Japanese cuisine. I was looking forward to seafood like Seki-saba (sekisaba), so I thoroughly enjoyed fresh sashimi with its crunchy texture. In one course dish, however, the cream stew of tilefish (tachiuo) with taro had an overpowering taste of green onions that masked both flavors; it ended up being quite unrecognizable in taste. While beef itself was tender & deliciously cooked—the strong unique aroma from nanohana sauce along its bitter flavor didn’t suit me personally—I chose not dipping into sauce but ate beef plain instead. Other than that everything else went well. When visiting Beppu again someday—I would love staying here once more!

    This time, a repeat visit

    This was my second stay at the property! As expected, the service was impeccable and I was very satisfied. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of items, so much so that I couldn't try everything I wanted to eat. I'm eager to try more next time. However, it's very disappointing that there is no charging facility for electric vehicles. This affects my itinerary for the next day, so please consider installing one. The image shows the miraculous sunrise and Beppu Bay as seen from the guest room with Sunflower in view!

    Excellent!

    The hospitality of the staff, the cleanliness of the Facility, the infinity bath, and especially the meals in terms of seasoning, portion size, and presentation are all perfect. Since it is a building along a major street, I wondered about the view. However, once inside the Hotel, it's like another world. The infinity bath was also exceptionally good. I would definitely like to use it again and recommend it to others.
