    The Room and the vie...

    The Room and the view were excellent! It was disappointing that the service at Restaurant Gen was not good. A female staff member from China or Korea served the food carelessly, which was unfortunate. She slammed the private room door shut with a loud bang, which startled me. The way she served the dishes also felt rough. Overall, compared with other good Hotels, this Hotel has great Onsen and meals, but it was disappointing that the customer service was not good.

    First-time guest

    I stayed here with a friend. The infinity Onsen and the food were both excellent. However, the hair dryers in the large public bath took a long time to dry my hair, so I would appreciate it if you could upgrade them to higher-quality ones when you replace them next time. Since the Facility is wonderful, it felt like a bit of a missed opportunity. I would love to stay here again when I visit Beppu. Thank you very much.

    I stayed for two nights.

    We stayed for two nights over the weekend. As always, the space was wonderful and the service was heartwarming, allowing us to relax in the Onsen. Dinner was French on the first night and Japanese cuisine on the second; both were delicious and great value. Breakfast was a buffet with an impressive selection of fresh ingredients from Oita, and I ended up eating too much. All of the staff were incredibly kind—everything was truly excellent! I always look forward to watching the sunrise, but this time our Room had buildings and trees directly in front of it, so I couldn’t capture a good video, which was a bit disappointing. Thanks to IKYU, I was able to unwind for the first time in a while. Thank you very much! I would love to stay again.

    I was satisfied.

    In Beppu, I made a Reservation with extra care at a high-quality Accommodation I wouldn’t normally choose. The Room, service, meals, and Onsen all met my expectations. The Onsen was truly excellent—of course the large public bath was great, but the open-air bath in the Room was outstanding as well. That said, the in-room bath water was too hot at first, so it took some effort to cool it down. The only thing I noticed in the Room was that there were surprisingly few trash bins for such a spacious space—having a couple more would have been helpful. For dinner, I chose the reasonably priced “paella,” and it was more than satisfying. The staff were also very kind and always checked in with us, which we really appreciated. I’d love to stay again if I have the chance.

    The Room we had rese...

    The Room we had reserved was unavailable due to repairs, but we were offered an upgraded Room instead and were very satisfied. We usually travel as a couple and didn’t think we needed a four-bed Room, but this one had a great view, and the interior and Facility were excellent, so we would like to stay here again next time. There are many international staff members, and their friendly service with a smile left a great impression.

    The meals are amazing.

    I stayed here around the same time last year as well. Choosing the chef’s recommended seasonal Beppu French dinner last year was absolutely the right call—it was so delicious that this year I splurged on the luxury course. Every dish was outstanding and delicious! Harumi must not let this chef go! The breakfast buffet was also fantastic—they even made an omelet for me. I’ll be back again next year when I return home to visit family graves, so thank you in advance.

    It was amazing!

    Everything exceeded our expectations, and we were extremely satisfied! I’m quite particular about cleanliness and often can’t fully relax at a Hotel, but this place was different—the Room was spotless, the in-room Onsen was very comfortable, and Eitaro, where we went for dinner, was wonderful with delicious food. Our elementary school daughter also loved it. We’d definitely like to stay again!

    Completely satisfied in every way.

    We stayed at Hare no To with our family of three. The living room was very spacious, with an ocean view, and we enjoyed a truly luxurious time. The bed was large enough for the three of us to sleep comfortably. The in-room Onsen was spacious enough for all three of us to bathe together, and the view was wonderful. We had both dinner and breakfast at Gen. Dinner was served in a fully private room, and breakfast in a semi-private room. They also handled our child’s allergies carefully, which was a great help. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with how spacious both the Room and the in-room Onsen were. It’s a Hotel we would definitely like to stay at again.

    Four Generations of Family—Highly Satisfied

    We came from Osaka to visit our family grave—four generations: my mother, me, my grandchild, and my daughter. The Hotel had an in-Room bath, and the Room was very spacious, so we could truly relax and unwind. For dinner, we ordered our favorite Japanese dishes; everything was delicious and we were very satisfied. Breakfast was a buffet with both Japanese and Western options. The dining area was spacious, there was a wide variety of items, and every single dish was tasty—we were extremely satisfied. There aren’t many Rooms on each floor, so we hardly ran into other guests. The Hotel never felt crowded, and we were able to spend our time comfortably overall. The staff were polite and kind from check-in to seeing us off at departure, which made us feel welcome. We visit the grave every year, so we’d like to stay here again next year.

    Ocean-view Resort Hotel

    The Room was spacious with a wonderful view, and the weather was great on the day we stayed. We were able to relax while looking out at the sea from both the in-room open-air bath and the large public bath. The property had a Resort Hotel atmosphere throughout, and the seafood dinner—especially the fresh Seki horse mackerel and Seki mackerel—was excellent and truly enjoyable. Regarding service, there was one disappointing point. After check-in, a young female staff member escorted us to our Room. She asked if we would like a brief explanation of the Room; since it was our first stay, we requested it. However, she spoke very quickly, gave only a cursory explanation, and left in a hurry. Later, when we requested an in-room massage and the therapist entered, they noticed that our shoes were still left as they were when we first came in and kindly straightened them for us. Because the staff member left immediately after her explanation, it felt as though there was no sense of welcome toward us. In hindsight, she also did not suggest slippers at the entrance or explain indoor footwear within the property. We do not necessarily need these explained in detail, but I felt that even small gestures—such as aligning guests’ shoes—would have been appreciated. To fully enjoy a resort atmosphere, I would like service to feel comfortable as well; among the staff members, some were pleasant while others felt businesslike, and I sensed individual differences.

    The meals and the bath are both excellent.

    This was my first stay. For dinner at Gen, I asked at the last minute to change to fried dishes, and I truly appreciate that you kindly accommodated my request. The food was absolutely delicious, and I was very satisfied. The bath was clean, and the open-air bath was especially relaxing. I would love to stay again if I have the opportunity.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    We stayed for one night with two adults and two children (an elementary schooler and a 3-year-old). 　The Room was very spacious, and the kids were thrilled. It’s a bit away from Beppu’s Onsen district, but the ocean view right in front of you is simply amazing. We could see the entire bay, and since the weather was great, we had a very relaxing stay. The large public bath also had a wonderful panoramic ocean view. 　The meals focused on seafood, with a variety of local dishes, and everything was delicious. 　Our Room had a terrace, but the railing was made of wire with wide gaps. Our younger child could have fallen through when leaning out between the wires, so families with small children should be especially careful about that. Other than that, it was an excellent Hotel.

    The stunning views and in-room open-air bath were excellent, but the service and meals were slightly disappointing.

    I stayed on a weekday in February. The seaside location was excellent, with stunning views from the Room, and I also enjoyed the sunrise over the horizon. The Room’s design and atmosphere were wonderful, and the open-air bath with free-flowing natural hot spring water was the best I’ve ever experienced. On the other hand, the restaurant “Eitaro,” where I had dinner, specializes in healthy creative cuisine, but it was too unique for my taste, and service felt a bit slow. Overall, while the Facility and scenery are outstanding, the service felt more businesslike than the attentive hospitality you would expect at a luxury Ryokan.

    It exceeded my expectations.

    The facility, room, bath, meals, and service were all exceptional! The hotel had a faintly refreshing scent throughout, and everything was impeccably clean, allowing for a very relaxing stay. Next time, I would like to enjoy a multiple night stay and spend an entire day relaxing at this hotel. One note: For those not traveling by car, please be aware that buses may stop running early in the evening. In onsen areas, it can sometimes be difficult to find a taxi, so we recommend checking transportation options in advance.

    Satisfaction

    This might be a bit luxurious, but since it's my second time here, it would be amazing if we could choose between tea or juice at check-in. Still, I was very satisfied.

    I had a relaxing stay.

    The Room was spacious and had a calm atmosphere, allowing for a relaxing stay. The view from the Room was amazing, and I enjoyed a beautiful sunrise. However, the open-air bath in the Room was extremely hot, which was inconvenient. Additionally, during dinner at night, it was disappointing that there were families with children running around.

    Relax in a spacious Room.

    The room was very pleasant. The view of the sea from the balcony and the open-air bath in the room was truly relaxing. The flowing hot spring water was also excellent. The spacious and comfortable bed provided a restful sleep, making us wish we could stay another night. We upgraded to a Japanese-style dinner, which was delicious overall. However, we found the steak sauce and the pickled vegetables served at the end a bit too sweet for our taste, which was slightly disappointing. Thank you to all the staff for your kindness. We were also delighted with the Kabosu-flavored Nikaso souvenir you gave us!

    I had a relaxing stay.

    The room I stayed in had a beautiful view of the sea! The open-air bath in the room was relaxing, with the sound of waves adding to the experience. I was amazed by the view from the outdoor bath in the large public bath at night. Although it was cloudy in the morning, I imagine it would be stunning to see the sunrise on a clear day. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious without being overly seasoned. The sashimi was fresh and very tasty. However, when I dropped a keychain under the sofa and moved it, there was dust and trash underneath, which was disappointing. If that area had been cleaned as well, my stay would have been even more pleasant. The food and service were excellent, so I would love to stay again!

    Family Trip

    This was our third time booking the Amane Resort for our annual year-end family trip. We chose the Sora Building R-Type Superior Twin Room this time because we were highly satisfied with our previous stay at Gahama Tower and noticed that the Sora Building had a newly established section. In conclusion, we were once again extremely satisfied, felt rejuvenated, and are glad we chose Amane Resort. Regarding the room and amenities, it would be appreciated if items like lotion could be individually packaged for better hygiene. As for the facility, while the two reclining sofas in the room showed some signs of wear due to age, being leather might make them appealing to some as they add character. Dinner and breakfast were once again excellent. When my growing son asked for an extra serving of rice, it was provided with a smile and no hesitation—this level of service left us very impressed. We look forward to seeing more upgrades at Amane Resort in the future. Thank you again for another wonderful experience!

    I stayed here for th...

    I stayed here for the first time during a year-end Onsen trip. The room had an open-air bath, allowing me to enjoy the Onsen casually before breakfast. After soaking, I stepped out onto the balcony with my warmed body, listened to the sound of waves, watched the ocean and ferries, and spent a relaxing time. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious (my husband and son, who love fish, especially enjoyed the sashimi). The large public bath was not crowded, so we could fully enjoy the sauna and jacuzzi. It was a very pleasant stay—thank you! However, I found the pillow too hard and high, so I deducted one star from my rating.

    Second Stay

    I stayed here last year as well, and I was surprised to see that despite the recent rise in prices, the rates remained unchanged while maintaining the quality of service. The hospitality and food were just as satisfying as last year. Although additional items like towels now come with a fee, I think this is a good approach. During my stay, I enjoyed soaking in the private open-air bath in my Room multiple times and admired the star-filled sky and sunrise from the open-air bath in the public bath area. I would love to visit again!

    I was very satisfied.

    Perfect distance, attentiveness, and elegance. The Room was just the right size, and the bathwater temperature was perfect. Since I usually sleep in a single bed, I was delighted with the spaciousness of the bed. It was very relaxing and comfortable to stay here. The Hotel staff also offered kind and heartfelt words. This is a Hotel I would love to visit again.

    This is not a luxury accommodation service.

    The towel baskets in the large public bath were overflowing with used towels, but no one came to collect them. The room design felt cheap, and paying 88,000 yen for a room with breakfast left me feeling disappointed. If you are expecting luxurious service and quality, choosing this accommodation might be a mistake.

    How about this service?

    The timing of food and drink service was inconsistent, either too slow or too fast. Even when ordering drinks to pair with the dishes, the timing didn’t match, making it difficult to enjoy the pairing. To top it off, two main dishes—fish and meat—were served back-to-back. While the food itself was delicious, the service did not feel worth the price. It’s a shame because other aspects were great.

    I would love to stay here again!

    This was my first stay, and I spent two nights at Gahama Terrace and Harumi. Both accommodations were excellent in terms of the onsen, room, and meals! The private onsen in the room was especially amazing! I had a wonderfully relaxing time after a long while. Most importantly, during dinner, when I couldn't bear the loud chewing sounds from the person at the next table (a so-called "loud chewer") and requested to change seats, the staff responded promptly and kindly without any hesitation. Thanks to their quick action, I was able to enjoy my meal deliciously. Thank you so much! I will definitely stay here again!

    Great accommodation!

    The room, bath, and meals are excellent at this accommodation. The rating for the room and facility was 4, possibly because the room was located at the end of the building, and I could hear car noises from outside while in the bedroom at night. However, I would love to stay here again.

    A Luxury Ryokan Representing Beppu

    True to its name, this Accommodation felt wonderfully refreshing with the sea breeze in the air. Check-in was handled on a terrace overlooking the ocean, instantly setting a resort-like mood. The welcome drink was a delicious kabosu citrus drink with generous pulp, and they also offered draft beer—an appreciated touch. The reflecting pool and ocean view from the terrace were perfectly in harmony—truly breathtaking. The staff kindly took turns offering to take photos for us, and we felt their warm hospitality. Our Room had only a few Rooms per floor, creating a calm atmosphere with great privacy. With a living area, bedroom, tatami room, and a spacious closet, it was more than roomy enough. Best of all was being able to enjoy an open-air hot spring bath fed directly from the source while looking out over the sea—pure luxury. The Japanese tea provided in the Room also came with plenty of tea leaves and tasted authentic; you could really feel the Accommodation’s attention to detail. For dinner we chose a Japanese course meal. The three-kind sashimi platter featured thick cuts with an enjoyable firm texture; it was so good that we ordered additional Seki Aji as an extra dish. Most memorable was the uni (sea urchin) cream pasta midway through the course—rich without being heavy, letting the uni flavor shine through beautifully. Local Beppu specialties such as toriten (chicken tempura) and ryukyu don were also served, and we enjoyed regional flavors all the way through to the final dessert, “yaseuma.” The pacing of each dish was perfect—and it certainly encouraged us to keep sipping our sweet potato shochu. From the large public bath you can take in panoramic views of Beppu Bay, and sunrise there was especially beautiful. An early-morning soak is highly recommended. Breakfast was buffet-style with plenty of small side dishes that made choosing fun, and the clam soup made with large shellfish had excellent broth and tasted wonderful. Dishes were constantly replenished so we could enjoy fresh ingredients throughout. Staff also refilled salads regularly here as well—we felt their care in every detail. From check-in to check-out, everyone on staff remained cheerful and pleasant at all times. The overall atmosphere of the Accommodation was great, and our stay was comfortable from start to finish. With dining, baths, and service all exceeding expectations, this is an Accommodation where you truly feel outstanding hospitality. We would love to return again soon.

    Relaxing Accommodation

    The room had large windows, and the open-air bath and terrace offered a stunning view of Beppu Bay. I stayed on the fifth floor of Harumi, and since all rooms seem to have an ocean view, I believe any room would provide a relaxing stay. I purchased souvenirs at the shop, but with a bit more variety or creativity, it could enhance satisfaction even further. Overall, it was a wonderful accommodation.
