A wonderful accommodation you’ll want to visit again
The guest room was very clean and beautiful. The hiba wood bath smelled wonderful and was amazing. The atmosphere of the building was also great. And the food was incredibly delicious!! The sashimi at dinner was so fresh it was hard to believe we were staying at an Accommodation in the mountains. For breakfast, we were very satisfied to enjoy many local dishes such as Aomori’s famous ika-menchi and Towada barayaki. Most impressive of all was the staff’s thoughtful attention to detail. Since we had a small child with us, thank you very much for all your consideration. In particular, the staff member who assisted us at dinner welcomed us with a wonderful smile, creating a memorable experience that will stay with us. Thank you very much. We visited as a large group, and everyone praised it as an outstanding Accommodation. We would definitely love to visit again in another season. Thank you for a wonderful time.

Thank you for hosting us for one night.
Conveniently located near the Hakkoda Ropeway, with a nice lodge-style exterior. After check-in, when we entered the Room, we were warned that there would be many insects due to the season. However, noise from what seemed to be the staff Room next door kept clattering constantly and bothered me. The meals were normally tasty, and the staff were good. The bath had pleasantly lukewarm water and was very nice, but we couldn’t use the open-air bath due to bear sightings. Still, it was great that we could use the baths for almost all hours during our stay. However, late at night the drainage noise from the bathroom was quite loud and woke me up wondering what was happening. The breakfast buffet was delicious. Maybe we just got an unlucky Room this time, but I couldn’t stop noticing “noise” throughout our stay.

The open-air bath is currently unavailable due to bear sightings.
At check-in on the day, we were informed that the open-air bath was closed due to bears, but this should have been communicated in advance. We would have chosen a different Hotel. The indoor bath had no Onsen minerals and felt like a cold-water bath. The temperature was lukewarm and we couldn’t use it. The Room was cheap and poor quality. The plumbing fixtures were old, and even the bidet toilet seat was an outdated model and worn out.

The mist sauna was great.
I visited while feeling very anxious due to bear precautions. The open-air bath was, understandably, unavailable because of bears, but the mist sauna was very relaxing. The staff’s warm smiles left a great impression, and the food and wine were delicious.

The Onsen was great.
I chose this Accommodation for my first trip to Aomori because it had great Reviews. Rather than a place to relax in the Hotel, it’s probably better suited for people who want to enjoy hiking in the mountains. The Room was a maisonette style. I think it would be easier to store luggage and relax if the living area and bed space were switched. There were few power outlets in the bedroom, and I wished the TV had been positioned directly in front of the bed. It felt very clean, and I was happy there was a coffee maker. I also appreciated having a bag to take to the bath area. The Onsen was absolutely wonderful. I got carsick on the way there, but I was able to warm up thoroughly and recovered quickly. However, it was strange that although there were paper cups in the changing room, the water dispenser was only outside between the men’s and women’s baths. I didn’t even realize it was outside until after I changed back into my clothes. Also, when I bought water from the vending machine, it sold out after just one bottle; I checked again after dinner and again in the morning, but it still showed as sold out. The ice cream freezer at what looked like a small shop also had so much frost buildup that it put me off buying anything. Dinner and breakfast were about what you’d expect for being deep in the mountains. What stood out most was how tasty the squid okizuke and gratin were, and how pleasant our server was—she seemed a bit unsure at times, but she left a very good impression overall.

Thank you for the Shuttle Service.
They promptly approved my request for a pickup from the ropeway base station to the Hotel. When I mentioned that I planned to take the bus to Sukayu the next day, they immediately offered to drive me there, which I truly appreciated. There was an unusual noise in my Room and I had to change Rooms; I was told it had happened before. If there are vacant Rooms, I wish they would avoid using that Room. Although it is in a very snowy area and the Hotel is a bit old, everyone at the Hotel provided courteous service.

This is a Hotel I would highly recommend to friends and acquaintances.
A quiet Accommodation in the forest where you can truly relax. The open-air bath in the woods offers a starry sky at night, and in the morning you can enjoy birdsong and the scent of the forest—an openness unlike anything I’ve experienced before. Both dinner and breakfast were exceptionally delicious, making great use of Aomori ingredients.

We had a relaxing stay.
A two-story Hotel There is no elevator, and our Room was on the second floor, so we had to carry our suitcases up and down the stairs, but the guest Room was spacious and relaxing, without anything excessive. Each dish at dinner was delicious, and the female staff member was easy to talk to; she responded politely with a smile. The drinks were also excellent! We were completely full! The breakfast buffet also had a satisfying variety and great taste. In the free-flowing open-air Onsen bath, we could relax while enjoying the view. We were a little concerned about bears, but we were able to soak slowly. We felt it was the perfect place to stay after enjoying nature. We would love to stay again if we have another opportunity.

Two nights in May amid fresh greenery
We stayed in a Room with an Onsen. Not only was the bath in the Room wonderful, but the Room itself was spacious, with plenty of living and bed space, making it very comfortable and easy to use. The Hotel staff were friendly, and when we went out for a walk, they even lent us bear bells as a precaution. As it was the off-season, it was very quiet, and we were able to relax and enjoy our two-night stay. The open-air bath had excellent water quality, and bathing surrounded by fresh greenery was exceptional. We also appreciated the massages in the relaxation area after bathing, as well as the fitness equipment. Although it is not a new Hotel, everything was well maintained overall and kept clean. Breakfast was delicious.

The service at the restaurant was pleasant.
Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, with just the right portions, and we finished everything. The restaurant staff were also attentive, making the dining experience very pleasant. We stayed in a Room with a scenic-view bath, but it took a very long time to fill the tub, so we couldn’t use it in the morning. We had heard that stargazing was available at night, but there was no guidance. We went to the front desk to ask, but no one was there, which was disappointing. Also, since there is no elevator, carrying our suitcase up the stairs was tough. The bed was said to be a Simmons, but it creaked every time we turned over, so it wasn’t very comfortable.

We had a relaxing stay!
Even though it was May, I was surprised to find lingering snow and such low temperatures. To be honest, the bath Facility isn’t perfect, but the hot water was amazing and left my skin feeling silky smooth! The meals featured many ingredients from Aomori, and I truly enjoyed them while appreciating the richness of Aomori Prefecture. (I forgot to take photos of most of it, haha.) The staff were all so warm and welcoming, which made our stay truly enjoyable. The Room was clean as well, and I was able to relax at ease—it felt like a night that completely wiped away all my everyday fatigue. Thank you very much!

Finally visiting Aomori Prefecture for the first time.
I was captivated by a photo of Aomori I happened to see, and felt it was meant to be—so I decided to visit. I used the Shuttle Service from Aomori Station, which was truly appreciated. I stayed for two nights in a Room with a private Onsen bath. We were lucky with the weather, and Sukayu Onsen was about a 30-minute walk away. The snow corridor, blue sky, and Mt. Hakkoda—enjoying the scenery made for a wonderfully luxurious stroll. At night, I highly recommend looking up at the sky; it really moved me to realize just how many stars are out there. The meals and hospitality were simple but warmly welcoming—and that’s exactly what I wanted. I prefer service that is attentive without being intrusive, and this place fit me perfectly. Everything here was comfortable—an Accommodation that felt “just right” for me. When I return, I hope to stay again. If I had to suggest one improvement: the step when going from the main bath area to the open-air bath. A warning sign would be helpful—I nearly tripped on my first visit. I would appreciate it if you could consider this.

We were able to spend a special time with our family.
We stayed in early March as a family of five (2 adults, children aged 6, 4, and 2). - There was still snow on the mountain roads, so winter tires are essential if you’re driving. - The Facility was very clean overall, and we were very satisfied. There were areas for bouldering and putter golf, which was great for letting the kids be active. - Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. We ordered a kids’ dinner as well—the beef stew was especially good. - The Onsen had a few disappointing points. The indoor bath temperature was lukewarm; I personally would have preferred it hotter (though it’s better for kids since they can stay in longer). The outdoor bath floor was slippery, with what seemed like algae settled at the bottom—this was a negative point. The mist sauna felt amazing. Shampoo and other toiletries were provided. There were also three free massage chairs in the relaxation area. - Our Room was No. 107. It didn’t have a skylight, but it had beds on the second floor plus a living space, which the kids loved. The Room had underfloor heating and felt almost too warm. It also had its own bath. - Kids’ amenities and loungewear were available, so we didn’t feel inconvenienced at all. - The staff were kind and approachable. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with our stay.

Snow, snow, and more snow.
With nearly 5 meters of snowfall reported in Sukayu and Aomori City hit by a disaster-level heavy snowstorm (over 180 cm of snow for the first time in 40 years), this was the timing of our stay. The Ou Main Line had been suspended day after day, but we managed to reach Sukayu by JR bus, and after enjoying a bath, the Hotel staff kindly picked us up. Thank you very much. Our first stay at Hotel Jogakura was like something out of a dream—completely covered in snow and icicles—and we were truly captivated by the scenery. From the Room window, at the open-air bath, and even on the way to the restaurant, everything was buried deep in snow—perhaps a view unique to this season. Although it was below freezing outside, thanks to the delicious meals, wine, and all of your staff, we were able to spend a warm and relaxing time. The next day service between Aomori Station and Shin-Aomori Station was also suspended, but it really helped that you drove us to Shin-Aomori Station. One request: I would have appreciated it if a path could have been cleared so guests could access the open-air bath safely. On the men’s side we could get in by climbing over packed snow, but I scraped my foot on ice. On the women’s side they were disappointed because they couldn’t open the door due to piled -up snow.

It was a very lovely Hotel. Highly recommended.
I found an available room and made a reservation while searching for a hotel to relax near Shin-Aomori Station. The accommodation features classical interiors with a cozy atmosphere, allowing guests to unwind in the room while enjoying the snowy scenery from the window (despite the heavy snowfall, of course!). In addition to its charming appearance, the hotel offers excellent facilities for relaxation, such as massage chairs, a powder room, and even bouldering spaces. During my stay amidst heavy snow caused by a cold wave, I greatly appreciated the staff's kind consideration regarding transportation conditions. This hotel is highly recommended for those planning activities nearby or anyone looking to enjoy unique and scenic views. Thank you for making my stay enjoyable!

Good.
Thank you for your hospitality during the January holiday. We stayed with the purpose of enjoying the heavy snow in the Sukayu Onsen area and the Onsen itself. The nature and Onsen were, of course, wonderful, but the meals were also excellent. Usually, there are some dishes at a Ryokan that I cannot eat, but at Jogakura Hotel, it felt like dining on a course meal at a city restaurant, making wine and sake irresistible. Both dinner and breakfast were fantastic. The snowy scenery from our room, the Onsen, and delicious meals allowed us to relax completely. We would love to visit again in another season. Thank you for everything including the Shuttle Service!

Backcountry Tour
This Hotel features amazing backcountry tour guides. As a first-timer in backcountry activities, I was taught essential techniques such as handling equipment and practicing safe behavior in snowy mountains with great care. Thanks to the guides' high level of expertise and warm instruction, I was able to start my journey without any worries, even as a complete beginner. The regular participants of these tours are also very friendly, which I believe is a testament to the welcoming community fostered by the guides. If you're considering starting backcountry adventures, this Hotel's guide team is undoubtedly where you should begin. As a base for backcountry activities, the Hotel offers exceptional comfort. The meals may not be extravagant but are gentle on the body and deeply satisfying. With well-balanced flavors that don't overwhelm your stomach even during a Multiple Night Stay, it’s highly recommended as your base accommodation. Regarding Onsen and sauna facilities, both the outdoor bath's location and the steam sauna's heat were just as satisfying as those of dry saunas. Adding "relaxation chairs" for post-sauna recovery would make this environment absolutely perfect. As long as this guide team remains here, I will gladly return time and time again!

Each Visit
I have used this place several times, but I feel the quality of the food has been declining with each visit. The dishes are not warm enough, and in a cold region, cold food is not enjoyable. Even the small bowls at breakfast were all cold, which was quite disappointing. And then there’s the stink bugs. How about the tape with stink bugs stuck to it still hanging on the Room wall?

A Simple and Minimalist Life
The atmosphere was simple and calming, fitting for a mountain setting. The dinner course had a retro Showa-style kaiseki feel, which might be expected given the price. On the other hand, the breakfast was impressive with plenty of local specialties like "nokke-don," "bara-yaki," and "ika-mentchi," offering greater satisfaction than the dinner course.

I love this Hotel.
We stayed for a Multiple Night Stay during the autumn foliage season again this year, just like last year. We love this Hotel for its convenient access to Mt. Hakkoda and Oirase, the stunning open-air baths, delicious meals both in the morning and evening, and attentive yet unobtrusive service. So much so that my spouse and I are even considering staying for three nights next time! That said, we humbly have a few points of concern and requests to share: - Regarding the sashimi platter, we found last year's presentation in a large bowl more exciting. The visually delightful arrangement left such a strong impression on us that we missed it this time. - On our second night, the beech forest lights were not illuminated for some reason, which felt a bit lonely. We enjoy viewing them from the terrace after dinner or from our Room's private bath (as turning on indoor lights at night attracts insects). Since they were lit on our first night, perhaps it was just an exception? We hope you can continue this feature in the future. - My husband was disappointed to find that the sauna chair (beach bed) previously available at the men's outdoor bath was no longer there. It was still present on the women's side—was it just bad timing? These are small but cherished aspects of our stay that we look forward to each year; if possible, we'd be delighted if they could be restored or continued moving forward. Thank you again—we look forward to staying with you once more!

You can fully enjoy the great outdoors.
Searched and made a Reservation to visit Hakkoda during my first trip to Aomori. The location is close to the ropeway station, surrounded by rich nature, and truly beautiful. It seems popular among skiers, and the Room was a maisonette type, which felt unnecessary for just two people. The Onsen was very relaxing and wonderful. Although the meals were slightly different from the images provided, the taste was good.

Staff service during breakfast
The check-in staff's service, the Room, the open-air bath, dinner, and the front desk staff's service were satisfactory. However, the service from the breakfast staff was extremely unpleasant. After finishing my meal, I left my seat briefly to get coffee and fruit, but when I returned, my table was already being cleared. I immediately addressed this with a male staff member on-site. Having stayed at various Hotels, this was my first time experiencing such an issue. To avoid repeating similar mistakes, it might be helpful to establish rules in advance, such as turning over the room number plate after finishing a meal. Please consider this suggestion.

I stayed here again.
This was my second stay! While Sukayu Onsen is also great, I chose this hotel for a more relaxing experience. The meals were delicious, the open-air bath was fantastic, and overall it was a wonderful stay. (If I had to mention one drawback, it would be the lack of an elevator. My elderly parents with strong legs were fine this time, but I wondered if I could bring them again in the future.) I love the atmosphere of this area and have stayed at Sukayu Onsen, Hakkoda Hotel, and Jogakura Hotel—all have their pros and cons. However, Jogakura Hotel is my favorite among them. Looking forward to staying here again!

A Satisfying Stay
The staff at this Hotel were all very warm and provided excellent service. The breakfast buffet was especially impressive, with cold and hot dishes replenished at just the right timing. The Onsen was wonderful, and there were even free massage chairs and ice cream available. The maisonette Room was quite spacious and comfortable. Surrounded by nature, there were many insects, but the night sky full of stars was stunning, making it a very satisfying stay.

A Quiet Mountain Hotel
- The Hotel is conveniently located with direct access via JR bus, making it very convenient for guests without a car. The hotel's free shuttle service is also very helpful. - The Room was slightly outdated but quiet and comfortable. The bathroom was a bit small. Since the Hotel does not have an elevator, carrying heavy suitcases can be inconvenient. - The Onsen was average. The outdoor bath was not very hot, and there were many insects floating in it, which was a bit unsettling. Towels were not provided at the Onsen. - The breakfast buffet was excellent. We had dinner for two nights; the first night was average, but the second night’s meal was delicious. - The staff were very friendly and helpful. They kindly provided bear bells and raincoats for us to borrow, which we greatly appreciated.

The facility felt a bit dated, but overall it was clean and comfortable. The staff's service and meals were also satisfying. The Onsen's water quality was truly amazing, leaving my skin smooth and soft. While the toilet in the guest room being close to the bed and in a unit bath style was less ideal, I would still like to stay here again.

The bath was excellent.
The bath was excellent. It was a bit hard to see at night, but in the morning, I discovered it was an observation bath surrounded by glass, offering a great view of the surroundings and a refreshing experience. The hot spring water is clear but warms you to the core and relieves fatigue. As for meals, I personally enjoyed breakfast more; it was both delightful and delicious.

We are delighted to offer heartfelt and satisfying cuisine!
I chose this place for its cozy, Nordic mountain lodge-style exterior and the promise of delicious meals made with seasonal local ingredients. While there is a famous Hotel in Hakkoda recommended by a friend, I was drawn to this spot instead. Due to heavy rain, we arrived earlier than planned (around 3 PM), but they accommodated us promptly. Thanks to their quick response, we were able to enjoy the Onsen and relax in our Room. The meals we had been looking forward to were all delicious, especially the locally sourced mozuku seaweed from Aomori that followed the abalone—it was unlike anything I’ve ever tasted before! The staff who served us were friendly and shared interesting stories about art and even anecdotes about Antonio Inoki. Breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes, conveniently pre-portioned into small bowls for easy serving—a thoughtful touch I appreciated. This is truly a hidden gem I’d recommend to anyone visiting Hakkoda. Thank you for everything!
