Highly satisfied
We stayed for two nights. <What we liked> - The bath was excellent. The Arashi-no-Yu bath was also amazing—just great overall. - The meals were delicious. - The staff were kind. <If there’s anything that could be improved> - The Wi-Fi in the Room felt a little weak. However, it worked fine for normal use, so it wasn’t really an issue. A highly recommended Accommodation.

I’m satisfied.
This was my second stay, following last year. I visit every year during peach season and have stayed at various Accommodations, but I returned because my stay here last year was so comfortable. The Room was a standard Japanese-style room, but the lounge and private dining rooms were spacious. Above all, the meals were outstanding. They were great last year as well, but this time they were even more enjoyable. The hot spring water also felt wonderful and left my skin feeling plump and smooth. All of the staff were pleasant, and I’m looking forward to next year as well.

Potential benefits of the natural Onsen Yakuseki Stone Sauna “Arashi no Yu”
We stayed as three generations. The Room had a loft, a large TV, and a spacious sofa, and we were very satisfied. The food and the Onsen were also great, but I especially want to leave a Review about “Arashi no Yu.” I often go to ganbanyoku (hot stone spa), but about a month ago I twisted my arm, and it hurt at certain angles and had been bothering me. Even though I only spent about five minutes in Arashi no Yu and simply worked up a good sweat, I noticed on the way home the next day that the pain in my arm had eased. It hadn’t improved even with ganbanyoku, so I felt it might have been due to the benefits of Arashi no Yu. As for the Onsen, I only took a quick dip before entering Arashi no Yu, so it was probably thanks to Arashi no Yu. I even thought that if I had stayed in longer, it might have healed completely. I would definitely like everyone to experience it.

It was a wonderful, memorable stay.
This was our first stay, and the stone sauna helped flush out toxins—I could really feel my body responding. The hot water was gentle, and there are three private baths as well, so it’s highly recommended for anyone who loves soaking. The Room has been renovated and is clean, spacious, and comfortable. The air conditioning worked very well, and we were able to spend a pleasant time together and make wonderful family memories. The meals were creative and thoughtfully prepared; even my elderly mother had a better appetite than usual, and the presentation was beautiful. It’s also close to Tokyo, so I’d love to visit again easily.

A relaxing place to unwind
This is a favorite Accommodation I’ve stayed at several times and always feel relaxed here. I visit Ryokan about once every 1–2 months, and I’ve been to Isawa Onsen dozens of times and stayed at many different places, but overall I think this one consistently offers a high level of satisfaction. The meals are seasonal kaiseki cuisine created in collaboration with Itoyanagi, with flavors you can only experience here. Also, if you stay again within a short period, they will adjust the menu for you, and the portions are generous—both your stomach and your heart will be truly satisfied. The desserts are especially well crafted, and it’s nice that you can choose to enjoy them in the private dining room or take them to the lounge. In the lounge, curry is served as a late-night snack, so some people even ask for less rice at dinner to save room for it. During the day, there are also complimentary services such as coffee, tea, beer, donuts, and more. The baths have separate concepts for men and women and are spacious. The private baths are free of charge, and you can enjoy three different types. “Arashi no Yu” bedrock bathing offers a unique refreshing feeling that’s different from both saunas and typical bedrock baths—highly recommended! As for the Rooms: I’ve stayed in every Room type available. They don’t come with features like a garden or an especially large open-air bath; however, everything you need is provided. That said, there’s so much to enjoy—the large public bath (Onsen), Arashi no Yu bedrock bathing area (Onsen), private baths (Onsen), lounge services—that I really only use the Room when arriving and when sleeping. It’s not a large property; if you want to spend your time quietly and fully enjoy a Ryokan stay, I highly recommend it!

An Exceptionally Hospitable Accommodation
We stayed for one night as a couple on a weekday. Beyond the tangible comforts—our Room, loan items like yoga mats and aromatherapy, post-bath beer that was perfect for us as drink lovers, and a lounge where we were also guided to desserts after dinner—we were truly moved by the staff’s hospitality from start to finish. We arrived a little early, but when we mentioned we wanted to visit a winery before check-in, they kindly gave us detailed directions. Even at the mineral-rich hot stone sauna area, the staff member enthusiastically explained how to use it properly—thanks to that, even I (not usually good with saunas) managed three rounds. Every staff member was genuinely wonderful. You could say that’s expected at a Ryokan, but this wasn’t the scripted “perfect service” you sometimes feel at other Hotels or Ryokans—it felt warm and personal, with each person’s individuality shining through. Lastly, there is a large pond in the Accommodation’s courtyard filled with many koi. Koi food is sold for 100 yen—please don’t miss this. It’s really fun.

Even though it was just one night, I was able to relax at a leisurely pace and feel refreshed.
The meals were excellent, and since it was a weekday we rarely ran into other guests. The space felt very comfortable, and the garden was beautiful. We’d love to drop by again on a whim.

We had a heartwarming stay.
I stayed here with my mother and my 4-year-old daughter. It was a truly heartwarming stay. The Accommodation had a calm atmosphere and felt very clean, so we were able to relax comfortably. The food was also delicious, and my mother was delighted. It felt like a safe and welcoming place even with a young child, and my daughter keeps saying, “I want to come again!” After making the Reservation, we suddenly needed to add one child, but the staff handled it warmly and with great care, which we truly appreciated. Throughout our stay, we could feel their thoughtful attention in many small ways, making our time very comfortable. We also accidentally left something behind when checking out, but they responded right away and it was a huge help. We are grateful for their kindness until the very end. This became a precious family memory. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

Perfect for a relaxing stay.
to Isawa Onsen Station。 Stayed about twenty hours total;since purpose trip = relax slowly, it became best stay possible。 Only reason Facility rating =4 is because one side's big-bath area + private-bath equipment looked old; if upgraded same level as newer big-bath side would be perfect। But since baths switch between night/morning you can choose not use if don't like। Everything else — Room amenities , courtyard vibe , food taste , lounge variety/quality (*all drinks were really good), staff attentiveness — truly excellent。 Would love stay again if opportunity arises。 Thank you very much for wonderful stay。

A Long-Awaited Visit to Arashi no Yu
When visiting Isawa Onsen on trips to Yamanashi, I used to stay at Itoyanagi, but this time I stayed at “Yuwa” for the first time. What decided it for me was the Arashi no Yu and the cozy, calm atmosphere. On the day of my stay, I arrived 30 minutes before check-in time, but they accommodated me smoothly. After that as well, I received so much warm hospitality and had a very pleasant stay. Inside the building, you can walk around barefoot, which was very comfortable. Arashi no Yu felt wonderful and did not disappoint, and the staff were very kind. After dinner, we enjoyed dessert in the lounge. Both the meals and desserts were extremely delicious. The late-night curry was also very tasty. The Itoyanagi Group Accommodations are truly great. I will definitely stay here again when I visit Isawa next time. Thank you very much.

We were glad they put so much effort into the meals!
This was my second stay at this Accommodation, and I heard the owner has changed since my last visit. The Facility had been slightly renovated, though it still felt a bit dated. As before, there was a hot stone sauna, and the Room was clean. After working up a sweat in the hot stone sauna and Onsen, I enjoyed complimentary draft beer and other drinks in the lounge. The draft beer was especially delicious. Dinner was a Japanese kaiseki-style course meal. Everything was great, but I especially loved the steak you grill yourself and the takikomi gohan cooked in an iron pot. They even offered late-night curry and Yamanashi wine service—I was truly full and very satisfied. Breakfast was also Japanese cuisine, served kaiseki-style, and felt like a feast as well. All of the staff were kind and attentive, so I had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Thank you as well for promptly sending my forgotten item by courier. Thank you for taking such good care of me throughout my stay.

We had another wonderful stay.
Our second stay—something we had been looking forward to after a wonderful first visit—was just as amazing. Above all, the time in the lounge is fantastic. We could relax and freely choose warm drinks and enjoy plenty of them (there are also lots of cold drinks), have desserts both at night and in the morning, drink plenty of wine at night (my husband even had curry), read books, and let our child play. I don’t drink alcohol, but my husband enjoyed a few welcome beers. The stone sauna was also excellent—so soothing. Having staff there made it feel reassuring. The spacious open-air bath was pleasantly lukewarm, just how we like it—we could stay in forever. The private bath was wonderful too. Everything is simply healing, and our child was thrilled. Every time, the man at check-in and the woman serving meals are so pleasant; we’re always impressed by the hospitality-filled service. They are also extremely considerate toward children. We’re big fans because it’s truly relaxing and restorative. We will definitely come again—I can’t wait. If I had to mention any drawbacks, there would be two: the Room feels old, and there are areas for improvement with the male staff member on night duty. The older Room isn’t an issue for us—we only sleep there. We relax in the lounge; the Room is just for sleeping. As long as there’s a sink and toilet, that’s enough for us, and we don’t use the in-room bath so we never even open that door. For guests who want to spend lots of time enjoying their Room, things like size or odors might bother them. This time we enjoyed some aromatherapy at bedtime—it was great! As for the male staff member on night duty, I had serious questions again this time as well. When I went to reception after 10 p.m., three groups were waiting. To a couple who had reserved a private family bath from 10 p.m., he said he would start cleaning now. Hm? It was already past 10 p.m. I had something I wanted to ask too, but he said that since he was alone at night, cleaning comes first! It also made me think: “He’s telling guests again that he’ll be alone until 7 a.m....” If one-person operation isn’t feasible, then from a service standpoint it seems right to find ways to make it work—assign someone who can handle it or respond with multiple staff members when needed. Last time there were also comments implying we should drink wine in our Room instead. It’s not appropriate to appeal to guests by emphasizing how busy things are. That said, it’s incredibly healing overall, so our family will definitely return again. The lounge is amazing. We love the stone sauna and open-air bath too. We like the man at check-in as well as the woman serving meals. We’re huge fans of Yuwa.

Family-friendly hospitality
I previously stayed here with friends, and the Arashi-no-Yu bath and meals were especially wonderful, so this time I returned with my family, including our 0-year-old daughter. Although I did not mention anything in particular when making the Reservation, I really appreciated that you had prepared a dedicated diaper trash bin and a child’s chair in the room, and had already pushed the beds together for Child Sharing Existing Bedding. Also, since shoes are not allowed throughout the entire building from the lobby entrance onward, we could let our baby move around safely inside and enjoy a very comfortable stay. Of course, this time as well, the baths, Arashi-no-Yu bath, and meals were all excellent, and we were able to feel refreshed for the first time in a while. We would love to stay again!

It was a wonderful accommodation.
Thank you very much for your hospitality. The property was very clean overall, and every member of the staff provided warm, attentive service, which made our stay truly comfortable. The food was excellent in taste, presentation, and service. We also enjoyed the lounge and the Onsen. We would love to visit again. Thank you.

An exceptionally attentive Accommodation that exceeds expectations
I’ve been visiting famous Onsen destinations across the whole country with IKYU, and I finally found an Accommodation that truly has it all! The guest room and lobby were spotless. Disposable slippers were provided, and even the in-room bath was sparkling clean. The staff’s service was genuinely pleasant, so we felt relaxed and at ease throughout our stay. We could also book the private bath from a smartphone, which was very convenient. The meals were thoughtfully prepared, and the semi-private dining area was comfortable. We were impressed by the complimentary drink service and the evening curry service—such delightful touches. It wasn’t just “free because it’s cheap”—the quality was excellent. We were especially surprised by how delicious the curry was; it tasted like a true professional’s work. We will definitely stay again. Even my hard-to-please partner approved of this Accommodation. A wonderful place with kind Facilities—and even kinder people.

We visited during the holiday with our family, and everything was perfect – the meals were delicious, the room was clean, and the Onsen was spacious and not crowded.

The meal was the same as when I stayed in September, including the dessert, which was a bit disappointing. While I understand it may be difficult to avoid repetition, a slight variation would have been appreciated. However, the service was excellent, so I look forward to staying again.

I was completely satisfied with the meals and the baths. I used both the private bath and the stone bath, which were very clean and enjoyable! We had a wonderful time spanning three generations of mothers and daughters.
I stayed with my mother and 1-year-old daughter. I was worried that my daughter might cause trouble, but everyone was very kind, and we had a wonderful time. The dining area was described as semi-private, but it had proper doors, creating a separate space where adults could relax and enjoy delicious meals. The beautiful presentation made the dishes visually delightful as well. The private bath we used on the first day was incredibly spacious—almost too luxurious for just the three of us! On the second day, when the baths were switched between men and women, we enjoyed an even larger bath with a charming atmosphere. We also tried "Arashi no Yu," which made us sweat in a way we've never experienced before—it was surprising! With an 11:00 AM checkout time, we had enough time after breakfast to enjoy another private bath with my daughter at our leisure. The complimentary drinks and late-night snacks were also delightful touches. I enjoyed beer after bathing and wine during some quiet time after my daughter went to sleep. My daughter happily enjoyed muffins as well. If there’s anything disappointing to mention, it would be that neither my mother nor I could connect to the room's Wi-Fi throughout our stay—this might be inconvenient for some guests. Also, while I understand it may depend on the season, since we visited "Fruit Kingdom," having fresh fruit desserts would have been even better!

A wonderful accommodation, I would love to stay again.
I stayed with my mother. The day before, we received a kind confirmation about our accommodation, and upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed. The accommodation was spotless, spacious, and offered a calm and beautiful atmosphere. The courtyard had koi fish, and the well-maintained garden provided a soothing view. Every detail reflected hospitality, from the subtle seasonal decorations to the thoughtful arrangements of plants. All the staff were warm and attentive, which made us very happy. The lounge's drink service was much appreciated, and both the curry and homemade pudding were delicious. The presentation of meals was stylish, enhancing both their taste and our conversations during dining. The staff serving us were also very kind-hearted. Our room was spacious and relaxing; it allowed for enjoyable evening conversations as well. The quality of the bathwater was excellent—it warmed us to our core—and the cleanliness of the changing area along with well-prepared amenities added to our comfort. My mother said she would love to stay here again! Thanks to this experience, I created wonderful memories with her that I will cherish forever. Thank you so much!

We recommend the therapeutic stone bath "Arashi no Yu".
The entire accommodation features tatami flooring starting from the entrance, giving it a traditional charm despite its slightly aged appearance. The well-maintained Japanese garden with a koi pond adds to the serene atmosphere. In the lounge, complimentary coffee, various juices, and soft drinks are available. Additionally, beer is served until 6 PM, and wine & curry are offered from 9 PM to 11 PM for free—there’s almost not enough time to enjoy everything! We stayed in one of three rooms with private open-air Onsen baths located up a staircase of 25 steps at the back of the lounge. The room's open-air bath had lukewarm water perfect for relaxing soaks, and the Onsen was incredibly soothing. The indoor bath was an ordinary household-style tub that we didn’t use much; however, shampoo, conditioner, and body soap were dispensed via wall-mounted buttons. There are two large public baths that switch between male and female use after midnight. The first one we tried was "Mizuki no Yu," featuring both indoor rock baths and outdoor rock baths. In contrast, "Ao no Yu" had a smaller changing area with just two tubs—a rectangular pool-like tub and a round cauldron-shaped tub—which felt less impressive overall but did have better-quality showerheads compared to Mizuki no Yu. Additionally, there is "Arashi no Yu," a therapeutic stone bath that seems to be one of this accommodation's highlights. Although walking on small stones can be slightly uncomfortable at first, as described on their official website—“sweating out toxins for inner healing”—the heat and humidity quickly made us sweat profusely in an invigorating way. Dinner featured luxurious sukiyaki made with Koshu Wine Beef—a hearty meal full of flavor! We also added wine pairing (3 glasses for ¥2,530), which left us pleasantly tipsy and thoroughly satisfied. When visiting the large public bath again around 10 PM later that night—it was completely empty like having our own private spa! Breakfast included Shabu-shabu made with Suisho Pork as its main dish—it was absolutely delicious! Dessert could be enjoyed leisurely in the spacious lounge afterward—a thoughtful touch we appreciated greatly!

The meals are delicious.
The meals and service were excellent. The jacuzzi in the room was very nice. I had plans to visit Azumino, so I made another reservation at the end of the month as a side trip. One concern: moss was growing on parts of the open-air bath exposed to sunlight.

An accommodation full of services to enjoy all day long
The collection of books by the director was full of personality and very enjoyable to read. The "Arashi no Yu" bath, similar to a hot stone spa, was incredibly relaxing and warmed my entire body, even though I had no prior sauna experience. While the facilities are quite old, they were impeccably clean and did not feel unpleasant at all. The room's private bath was also excellent. I was surprised by the unlimited grape juice, wine, and other drinks available, as well as the late-night snacks provided—truly outstanding service! With options like foam rollers and aromatherapy rentals, I could relax in this wonderful space just like at home. Access from the city center is very convenient, yet there were few tourists around (sorry!), allowing for a peaceful stay. This is definitely one of the accommodations I would love to visit again!

Rooms...
The overall service was not bad, but... Despite being advertised as non-smoking, the room smelled of cigarettes as soon as I entered. I tried to mask it with aroma, but the smell seemed ingrained in the room. When I mentioned it at checkout, they said it might be because the smoking room was nearby or that they could have changed my room if I had said something. However, considering I had made the reservation well in advance, it felt unfair that they set me up next to a smoking room—it sounded like speaking up would have been my only advantage. It was truly disappointing since this was supposed to be the most luxurious room of our trip.

I would definitely love to stay at this accommodation again!
This is an accommodation I strongly wish to stay at again. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was exceptional. The staff's service was outstanding. I was charmed by the personality of the gentleman (slightly older and somewhat comical) who handled our check-in. Relaxing in the lounge with desserts, drinks, and wine was fantastic—I wished we had arrived earlier! The spaciousness of the private family bath was impressive (it seems it used to be a large public bath). It was my first time trying a stone sauna, but thanks to the detailed explanation from a male staff member, I could enjoy it with peace of mind. I had concerns about encountering guests with poor manners from overseas; however, during our visit, there were no such issues as all guests were polite and respectful—no unpleasant experiences at all. Above all else, I deeply appreciated how they treated my 2-year-old daughter as an important guest. She seemed happy throughout our stay. As for the room itself, while it did feel slightly dated in appearance, it was clean and comfortable. Some may find its age noticeable; however, given how wonderful areas like the lounge on the first floor are, we will definitely return. The proximity between our room and smoking area concerned me initially; however, there seemed to be no users as there wasn’t any noticeable smell during our stay. The meals were delicious—I’d love to try them again in another season! What an amazing experience!
