    It became a wonderful memory!

    The views and service were wonderful. The kaiseki dinner during the fireworks was both beautiful and delicious, making it a truly special time for our family!

    One-night, two-day stay (Aug 9–10) to watch the Atami Fireworks Festival.

    We stayed for one night with our children from 8/9 to 1/10. It was our first visit, and we were able to enjoy the pool, rock climbing, keychain making, and the beachside café without having to go outside in the extreme heat. There is an outdoor adventure course as well; we made a Reservation for the basic course on the morning of departure and had a great time. We were impressed by how extensive the Facility is in the middle of the forest. Younger children who may find the adventure course difficult can still enjoy themselves at the treehouse. Our younger child (10 years old) cried at first and didn’t want to do it, but with guidance from the staff and his middle-school-aged older brother, he ended up loving it (he went around about five times). The forest area is mostly shaded, and since it was a morning activity, it was very comfortable. Afterward, we were also given chilled barley tea, which was delicious. We then went straight to the Onsen to rinse off before heading home. This time there was heavy traffic in Atami, and both trips took about 2–3 times longer than usual. Using the shuttle service from Kinomiya Station (available 8/8–18 only) should help you avoid traffic and plan your travel time more reliably.

    The Facility was wel...

    The Facility was well-suited for staying with children, and it was very comfortable. I think a stay of about two nights would allow you to enjoy it, including the activities.

    I’ve stayed here before, but I don’t remember it being this mediocre…

    The Room was wonderfully spacious, but that ended up being almost the only memorable thing about this Hotel.. It was my first repeat stay in several years, and I was disappointed—when my child was younger, I remember there being more to enjoy. The in-room bath has a great ocean view, but on the second day there was no cleaning. Was I supposed to wash the tub myself..? The Onsen is also small and not very impressive. The indoor pool is far too small and felt overcrowded, and the chlorine smell was unusually strong—I left after just a few minutes. The breakfast buffet is average. However, the sea bream rice and French toast were delicious!! The climbing wall was fully booked by Reservation, so it wasn’t available on the day.. Not terrible, but the good points weren’t as good as I remembered—overall disappointing.

    Areas for improvement

    We visited on a family trip! We travel a few times a year, and this was our first time in Atami and at RISONARE. We were excited for days beforehand, full of anticipation. The Room met our expectations, and the activities made it a very satisfying trip. The only disappointment was the layout of the buffet venue “Mogumogu.” Since we were in Atami, we had hoped to enjoy the night view at dinner and the scenery at breakfast, but we were seated in a tucked-away area where we couldn’t really feel the views, which lowered our excitement. Of course, there were seats where you could enjoy the scenery, but we couldn’t choose them and were guided to a pre-assigned area. While this makes seating smooth, I would love to see improvements so that guests can dine while enjoying Atami’s wonderful views from every table through a layout change. Other than that, everything was perfect—the Room was spacious and relaxing, and the staff were kind. It was a Hotel with very high satisfaction overall. Our grandchild also loved it, and we’re hoping to visit again around autumn. Thank you very much for this stay.

    Celebrating My Grandchild’s and Dad’s Birthdays Together

    This was our third stay. It started raining when we arrived, so we couldn’t do the stamp rally my grandchild was looking forward to. However, even in bad weather there are plenty of indoor activities like the kids’ kitchen and crafts, and we were also able to use the pool, making it very comfortable for families with children. The staff were also very kind and spoke to the children often, which we really appreciated. For dinner this time we chose the fireworks option, and it was excellent. We would like to stay again.

    Relax in the Onsen while enjoying the night view.

    The Onsen is wonderful! You can relax while enjoying Atami’s beautiful night view. During the fireworks festival, you’ll likely be able to watch the fireworks from the Onsen! We’d love to visit again.

    A bit disappointing...

    Unfortunately, it rained on the day of our stay, and although it was sunny the next day, it was disappointing that we couldn’t use the second-floor skywalk or take a walk around the outer garden. The Room also felt somewhat overpriced for what it offered in terms of Facilities, but overall we had a comfortable stay.

    I still have concerns about how the charges were handled.

    The Facility itself is very appealing, and with its great location, design, and well-equipped amenities for children, I felt it is an excellent Hotel for family trips. On the other hand, this stay left me with serious concerns about how fees were handled. I understand that there was an error in the Reservation category; however, considering the level of the Accommodation Fee I had already paid, I found it difficult to accept the decision regarding the additional Accommodation Fee afterward. I was charged an additional Accommodation Fee for my child solely due to a formal category classification, without any consideration of how it related to the amount already paid. In addition, because the existing Reservation was non-refundable, I was forced into a very difficult choice: either continue with the stay or give up staying based on what had already been paid. Furthermore, I called the Hotel twice on the day before check-in, but both times there was no answer even after being transferred and waiting for some time, so I could not confirm things in advance. Because the Facility has so much appeal, I feel there is room for improvement in fee policies and on-site handling. If you are traveling with children, I recommend confirming your Reservation category and how additional charges are handled in advance.

    Mostly suitable for families with children

    After staying at Hoshino Resorts in Hokkaido, we looked for a place near the Kanto area that we could reach by train and found this one. Inside the building, there are authentic bouldering activities and keychain making (free of charge). Although it’s pricey, there are also outdoor athletic courses and sweets-making activities—making it a fantastic place to visit with children. We’d love to try other Facilities around the whole country as well.

    This was my first st...

    This was my first stay. Overall, I was satisfied. The food was delicious, and the Room was clean and spacious. Areas for improvement include the Shuttle Service frequency, schedule, and capacity being insufficient; a significant difference in quality between paid and free activities; and a limited selection of fruit and desserts at meals. I felt the value for money was not very high for the price.

    It’s been two years, and it was great to see how much the kids have grown.

    I had visited twice in one year before, and at the time I felt like I’d had enough. But now that my child is older and can fully join the activities, we stayed again after a long break. It was really great. The Room was spacious and my child could play. We enjoyed everything—the bath, the pool, the walls, and the forest. Meals are easy now because my child goes to get food from the buffet on their own. I just wish they’d go to the bath by themselves too—but by the time that happens, we might not be doing family trips anymore. I’m not sure until what age we’ll keep coming, but I’d like to visit at least once more within the next few years. I heard it’s been partially renovated, so here are my thoughts: - The buffet felt more kid-friendly than before—there’s even a DIY macaron corner now. On the other hand, there seemed to be fewer items at the live kitchen, and it felt like there was slightly less seafood as well. Personally it used to feel more luxurious, but considering how happy kids are this time around, this may be better overall. - The Onsen changing area design also seemed nicer and cleaner than before—but it didn’t leave a strong impression.

    It was an ideal Hotel for families with children.

    We had an amazing time in the pool using swim diapers! I brought swimsuits for myself and my daughter, but on the first day there were no rental swimsuits available for men or boys (size 80). They were available the next day. If you have room in your luggage, it may be reassuring to bring at least swimsuits for your child and one parent. The view of the Atami sea from the lobby was wonderful—Atami’s coastline is beautiful. There were many families with children, and our kids got to interact with other children. The beach café was also a hit with my child. The Onsen was excellent for adults; I really liked the water quality. I enjoy reading about an Onsen’s benefits while soaking, but I didn’t see any such notices. The Room was very helpful because it had body soap for children, which allowed us to travel with less luggage this time. We stayed in a Japanese-Western style room so we could sleep with our child on tatami mats, but the floor futon required an additional fee.

    Is it set up for families with children?

    The Facility itself is average. For families with children in elementary school or younger, it will be comfortable, as activities and kid-friendly meals are provided. The young staff felt somewhat cobbled together and didn’t seem very familiar with local sightseeing information. We chose Japanese cuisine for dinner, but even considering the price, it was low quality. The duck shinjo had a very strong duck odor, the sashimi was watery, and the Chiba beef shabu-shabu looked good but turned tough almost instantly. It was disappointing because three types of broth were prepared for the shabu-shabu pot. The breakfast buffet also meets only a basic standard, with nothing in particular to recommend. The French toast is likely good. Notably, baby food was available. The views outside are great from both the Room and the large public bath. It would be perfect on days when fireworks are held outside.

    Great for a three-generation trip, but the value for money is questionable.

    We stayed here for a three-generation family trip. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent, with options that everyone from babies to seniors can enjoy. It was also a nice touch that the amenities included OSAJI, a brand I like. The bath was a semi-open-air bath with a great view, and it was so relaxing that we ended up soaking for quite a while. On the other hand, there were a few disappointing points. When we were leaving, there was a staff member at the entrance, but even though we were carrying our luggage, they did not offer to help and instead chatted with another family who arrived afterward. Also, since guests generally carry their own luggage to the Room, considering the Accommodation rate, it felt like there was some gap in service. Please note that most Rooms have combined bath and toilet units. It wasn’t an issue for us this time since it was just our family, but it might feel slightly awkward if sharing with in-laws.

    Warm Atami Even in Winter

    I visited Atami in February—still winter, though technically spring on the calendar. If your children are older, I recommend having dinner while watching the fireworks. The Onsen was just the right size and temperature. The night view was beautiful.

    Stayed with family

    We chose to stay at Risonare as we were looking for accommodation where children could have fun, and the indoor pool available even in winter was a big draw. Beyond the pool, there were many thoughtful touches like a ball pit and toys provided in the guest rooms, ensuring that our child never got bored. Thanks to this, we adults were able to relax and enjoy our time as well. The meals offered a wide variety of delicious options, with plenty of choices suitable for children, which was very helpful. The view from the bath was lovely, and with both hotter and milder temperature options available, even our child could comfortably enjoy soaking in it. The 12:00 checkout time was also greatly appreciated; after breakfast and some sightseeing in the morning, we still had enough time to return to the hotel so our child could enjoy one last swim before leaving. We truly had a wonderful experience overall. The hospitality and service were excellent, making us want to visit again soon. Next time, we'd love to try some outdoor activities as well! Thank you very much!

    Perfect for families with children.

    The pool, athletic facilities, events, and kids' space were all perfect for children, providing them with an enjoyable time. Since they said they want to visit again, I would love to bring them back.

    Do not expect hospitality, or you may be disappointed.

    The amenities in the room include a toothbrush, one bath towel, and one face towel. However, there is no clear option for drying hands after washing them at the sink in the bathroom. While there is a hand towel in the toilet area for drying hands after use, it becomes inconvenient when washing hands at the sink near the bathtub. Upon visiting the public bath area, I noticed that both amenities and towels are provided there—why are they not readily available in the room? Additionally, I found hair on the wall of the private bathroom and on its sink. Does this mean cleaning is skipped during a Multiple Night Stay? Actually, I noticed this issue on my first day of stay. Furthermore, stains were visible all over the wooden floor of my suite—are these permanent? It was disappointing to see such conditions from a renowned brand like Hoshino Resorts. Despite high expectations and being unable to Change or Cancel my Reservation as needed, it felt like things were not up to standard.

    A family trip with four generations, including 88-year-old elderly parents and a 10-month-old grandchild. This is the perfect Hotel for traveling with small children. Everything from the Room to the Facility and restaurant is wonderful for kids. However, the bathtub was too deep for the elderly to use.

However, we often felt that the operations and hospitality did not match the price. There were disappointing experiences such as being called by the wrong name or inconsistencies in reservation details without prior confirmation (though we acknowledge our own mistakes as a premise).

    All staff members provide consistently pleasant and friendly service, leaving a positive impression. The design allows the naked body to be visible from the guest room windows of the neighboring Hotel, which was a bit embarrassing.

    Great for families with children!

    We visited on a hot summer day. Since it was a hot day, we spent our time entirely at the Hotel after arriving. There were activities like a ball pool play area, swimming pool, pizza making, and keychain crafting. The Room was spacious, and the children enjoyed themselves without getting bored. We also explored the forest. We would love to visit again. Thank you!

    The hospitality...

    We stayed as a family of three. The room and facility were just as shown in the photos, and the onsen had a great view, making it a comfortable experience. Although we have used Hoshino Resorts several times before, this was our first time at Risonare, but the customer service was simply disappointing. We used the shuttle service from Atami Station but couldn’t board because it was full. We were instructed to wait on the side of the road for the next bus to arrive. When it did and we tried to board, staff began assisting guests from another line that had formed separately. Even after explaining that we had been told to wait on the side, they only asked for our reservation name without addressing why other guests who arrived later were prioritized over us. The shuttle is first-come-first-served with about 20 seats available and no reservations allowed; despite waiting in line, six people were let ahead of us. Upon arriving at the hotel, there was no guidance or welcome at check-in counters; neither at hotel shops nor activity counters nor even at indoor pools or Solana Café did anyone greet us with "Welcome." Only in the restaurant did someone say "Welcome." For activities, even when start times arrived, staff didn’t come to guide or call out instructions like “This way.” We had to figure things out ourselves. The only exception was one smiling staff member managing climbing activities. This trip changed my impression of Hoshino Resorts entirely—I would advise not expecting much hospitality here.

    We visited with two families and children, and it was a very pleasant stay. Highly recommended, especially for those traveling with kids! My sister's family booked through the official site, while I made my Reservation via IKYU. Due to an error in selecting the Plan, I couldn't add dinner and had to call the official inquiry line. It was difficult to get through, and when I finally did, it turned out to be outside business hours. Honestly, I was quite anxious about whether dinner seats would be fully booked. I assume that calls are directed to Hoshino Group's general hotline, which might explain why it's hard to connect due to high call volume. Additionally, the explanation during check-in took quite some time and ended just a few minutes before our scheduled activity Reservation time. Since we were not familiar with this process either, it made us a bit nervous. For those who have pre-booked activities, we recommend arriving at the Hotel well in advance. (Mainly due to issues related to phone inquiries, we rated customer service 4 stars.) That said, everything else allowed us to enjoy an incredibly fulfilling experience without any worries. Even though our Reservations were made through different platforms, they kindly arranged for both families' Rooms and dinner seats (as much as possible) next to each other. We truly appreciated this thoughtful gesture. Moreover, as someone who booked via IKYU.com specifically mentioned by staff members—I received a complimentary service voucher! This unexpected treat brought me so much joy!

    Highly satisfied.

    Stayed for one night with my wife and two children (ages 3 and 7). The staff's guidance was polite and excellent. With plenty of activities available, we had enough fun within the premises. We only had breakfast, which included local specialties and was overall delicious. The "Mago Chazuke" was especially outstanding. However, it would have been nice to have a bit more fruit for the kids. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay, but regarding the Onsen, aside from the ocean view, there wasn’t much else notable. It would have been better if there were at least one more type of Onsen to enjoy some variety.

    Fireworks view from the Room is amazing!

    I was lucky to make a Reservation during the additional schedule for the Atami Sea Fireworks Festival. I enjoyed dinner while watching the fireworks, and every dish was delicious. After that, I watched the fireworks festival from my Room. Seeing the fireworks from a different height than usual was amazing. I would love to visit again if I have another opportunity. Thank you very much!

    Thanks to everyone, it was a wonderful Hotel stay!

    We stayed for one night with dinner and breakfast included from May 24th for two people. From the operator's assistance before our stay to the final checkout, everyone was truly wonderful, and we were deeply impressed! When we inquired on the morning of our stay about preparing a birthday plate for dinner, they kindly agreed to prepare it with a chocolate plate. The staff at Atami Station who handled the shuttle bus reception, those at check-in, and those who assisted with the gelato activity all provided service with such warm smiles that made us feel great! (We tried Kuon and gelato as recommended—so delicious!) During dinner, the male staff member attending to us maintained just the right distance between being attentive yet unobtrusive, making it very comfortable. At Hoshino Resorts, we noticed how multi-tasking their young staff members are during our stay. Despite their youthfulness, every single one of them demonstrated exceptional hospitality skills that left us amazed. Thank you so much!
