    It was an accommodation with great satisfaction.

    The staff's hospitality and service, the cuisine, and the Onsen were all truly exceptional at this accommodation. We visited to celebrate my mother's birthday, and it became a wonderful memory. On IKYU.com, it was mentioned that there was "no shampoo or conditioner," but when I visited, they were provided in the Onsen area!

    Visited again

    This is my second visit following last year. Attentive service, delicious cuisine, and relaxing baths. It’s truly a comfortable accommodation. Being close to Tokyo and convenient for a one-night stay is also appreciated.

    The best cuisine I've had in over a decade, including non-accommodation experiences. The quality of the ingredients was outstanding, and the meticulous attention to detail in each dish elevated the overall dining experience. With only a few rooms available, it's perfect for relaxing and savoring the meals. This accommodation is a must-visit again!

    A wonderful accommodation full of hospitality.

    Seasonal flowers are beautifully arranged throughout the accommodation, and the cleanliness is impeccable. The warm hospitality of the wonderful hostess and staff made for a truly refreshing stay. The in-room dining experience was delightful, with each dish carefully explained, allowing us to savor every bite at a relaxed pace. With only five rooms available, the onsen was never crowded, providing a peaceful soak to relieve work fatigue. The availability of hand towels in the bath area was especially convenient—perfect for situations where using a bath towel felt unnecessary but something smaller was needed after one use. The futon provided excellent comfort for a restful sleep. While the adjustable pillows were nice, having an option for softer and lower pillows would have been even better. We took a taxi upon arrival and walked downhill on our way back; however, we recommend arranging for a taxi if you’re not confident about your physical strength as the steep slope can be quite challenging—especially with luggage that’s hard to control while descending. Although it was disappointing that the museum we planned to visit was temporarily closed, we look forward to our next visit!

    Hospitality at a Small Accommodation

    We visited on a weekday as a couple. The accommodation is located up a narrow steep slope, which can be a bit challenging to access. However, the view from the window makes up for it, offering a beautiful panorama from the townscape of Yugawara to the sea. During our 1-night stay, we enjoyed the onsen four times, and each time we had it all to ourselves. The slightly alkaline water felt smooth and gentle on the skin, making it very relaxing. Meals were served in our room for both dinner and breakfast, with excellent attention given to my wife's allergies. The fish dishes were particularly delicious. While we appreciated the warm send-off at departure, there was also some pressure to leave quickly by car—this might vary depending on personal preferences regarding timing. Overall, this is an accommodation we'd love to visit again!

    Consistent Comfort

    I have stayed here more than five times. Since I travel alone, I take a day off during the week to make a reservation and stay. Recently, perhaps due to the high reviews, it has become difficult to secure a reservation. It seems that Chef Aramaki retired about two years ago due to age, so the famous "Mizuki Tofu" is no longer on the menu. However, each dish is served at perfect timing and is exceptional. The grilled fish was Spanish mackerel, and the meat dish was duck. Most importantly, there are no pots using solid fuel commonly found in other ryokans, which I appreciate. Breakfast was as delicious as always; their specialty "Fried Mochi" remains unchanged. The rice comes in something like an "ohitsu" or "magewappa," which absorbs excess moisture perfectly—I had three bowls of it! The bath features free-flowing hot spring water that keeps your body warm even after getting out. It was a very relaxing one-night stay!

    A Relaxing Accommodation Close to the City Center

    This was my first visit. Despite being established for 21 years, the property is well-maintained, very clean, and comfortable to stay in. I stayed in a room on the second floor with a great view, offering beautiful scenery. Unfortunately, the view from the open-air bath was not as expected, but I had a restful sleep thanks to the excellent hot springs of Yugawara. It was slightly inconvenient that there was no powder room in the large public bath. Additionally, it would be nice if disposable amenities were provided in the room. Having both breakfast and dinner served in-room at this price is quite rare and valuable. The meals were reasonably delicious. The service had a warm and homely feel to it. According to other reviews, rooms on the first floor have poor views and can be noisy due to sounds from people using the baths; therefore, I hope it's possible to specify rooms when making reservations for my next visit. Being close to Tokyo makes it an ideal spot for spontaneous trips if reservations are available again! Thank you for your warm hospitality!

    A Reliable Inn

    We are an elderly couple and this is our favorite property, where we stay every year. It is a high-quality property with a calm atmosphere, consistently delicious food, soothing onsen, and above all, the smile of the proprietress. It was our first visit in a year, but what stood out most was the deliciousness of the "two-step upgrade (lol)" dinner & breakfast. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

    A property with attention to detail.

    I stayed for one night with my husband. Although it's a small property, it is clean and attention to detail is evident throughout. Flowers were arranged in the room, toilet, and bath, which was nice. The onsen had just the right temperature and we enjoyed it multiple times. All the dishes were served warm and freshly made, which was delicious. Thank you very much.

    The best Ryokan for solo Onsen experience

    I always enjoy Onsen alone when my husband is on a business trip. Of course, I also go on Onsen tours with my husband who loves Onsen. After searching various places, I decided that I wanted to stay here at Zuigetsu. The Onsen from 3 o'clock was a bit lukewarm, but after getting out, it warmed me up nicely. The quality of the spring was good and made my skin smooth. Moreover, I was very satisfied with the dishes prepared by Chef Nojiri; they were exquisite. The homemade karasumi was also superb, making it the best solo trip as I enjoyed all the dishes visually and tasted them delightfully. The proprietress was wonderful and the staff were pleasant as well. Thank you for taking care of me. Next time I'll visit with my husband.

    Wonderful Stays

    It is a small Stays, but the food, the view from the Room, and the Onsen were all wonderful. Also, the hospitality of all the staff was truly excellent. The homely atmosphere was also very nice. I would definitely like to visit again.

    This is a quintessential Japanese inn.

    Until now, I could hardly take weekdays off due to work, and I didn't know such a wonderful Onsen property was nearby. I was truly moved by the comfort that far exceeded my imagination, and I'm glad I came. However, it was not just superficial hospitality, but the attitude of the property, which was small and simple, yet filled with sincerity in every detail. The cleanliness of the room, the natural hospitality of the hostess, the gentle temperature setting of the Onsen water, the beautiful fresh flowers and paintings placed throughout the facility, and above all, the gourmet meals that lived up to the property's name. Each dish was very simple, yet the flavor of the broth, which seemed to be carefully prepared to bring out the taste of the ingredients, conveyed the chef's sincerity and moved me. The Yamagata glacier rice was so delicious that I ended up eating too much. Haha It was a truly satisfying one-night stay that made me feel once again that this is the true Japanese property. I want to come again!

    Although we were lat...

    Although we were late for check-out and dinner time, the hostess responded pleasantly. The Ryokan was very attentive, clean, and beautiful. The furnishings, paintings, and the patterns on the Room's ceiling were very sophisticated and lovely. The cuisine was exceptional and very delicious, all prepared with meticulous care. The dishes were also very beautiful, leaving us feeling very satisfied. The bath was also great, and everything was wonderful, which energized us. It was a wonderful stay.

    This is a property with truly delicious cuisine.

    I stayed here nearly ten years ago for a girls' night and have always wanted to return with my family. It had been a while, but just as I felt last time that "the food is truly delicious," I thoroughly enjoyed it again this time. Each dish reflects careful craftsmanship that brings out the flavors of the ingredients. Everything was delicious, but the grilled yellowtail's cooking and seasoning were the best I've ever had. My family seemed to enjoy the pufferfish and striped jack. Despite the considerable number of dishes, the portions are meticulously calculated so that you can enjoy dessert as well, which is delightful. Even though I felt full after dinner, I was pleasantly hungry by morning, which I think is due to the good balance of ingredients. The warm "basic dashi" served at breakfast used luxurious ingredients and gently warmed my stomach. The thoughtfulness of the Stays staff was wonderful, and I enjoyed the homemade karasumi by the head chef and learned about delicious sake. Since it was a winter stay, the hallway and bath area were quite cold, so I rated it four stars, but after bathing, I felt very warm, and my body stayed cozy for a long time. We were able to reserve a room with a great view, so we leisurely enjoyed the view of the valley and townscape along the river in Yugawara. My husband and I are already talking about "going again."

    The food is delicious.

    A quiet and serene Stays with only five rooms. Perhaps because it is a small Property, the meals were exceptional. The breakfast, in particular, was wonderful. Grilled horse mackerel, miso soup. I enjoyed it with a second helping of rice. I would definitely like to use it again.

    Unfortunately

    I made a reservation because the reviews were good. The meals were not satisfactory, but I thought it was good that the bowl and miso soup were piping hot. There was no explanation of the benefits for Diamond members, and I found out at checkout.

    My heart is fulfilled.

    I had the pleasure of staying here on my first solo trip. The meals, onsen, and service were exactly as others have written in their reviews, and I was very satisfied. I was particularly impressed and moved throughout my stay by how meticulously the cleanliness of the interior was maintained. I would like to visit again when the greenery is bright. On a personal note, I mentioned in a casual conversation that a few days after my stay was the anniversary of my husband's passing, and they kindly prepared a meal offering for him. I am still filled with gratitude for this unexpected kindness. It was an inn where you could feel the warmth of people and have your heart fulfilled. Thank you very much.

    Thank you very much for your hospitality during our stay. The staff, including the Okami, were all very attentive, and the Room and Facility were impeccably maintained, allowing us to have a comfortable stay. The food was particularly delicious, and we kept saying to each other, "This is delicious," and "This is also delicious," as we enjoyed it with our family. Despite being busy preparing such exquisite and elaborate dishes, we were surprised to be seen off by the head chef along with the Okami and staff upon our departure. We have stayed at various places, from casual to luxury Ryokan, but this was the first time the head chef saw us off, which made us feel both apologetic and deeply moved. We would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

    Kokoro no Stays

    We used the property for the first time on a three-generation girls' trip. We were looking for a calm atmosphere with few rooms where we could have meals in our room. Since we were bringing our elderly mother, we had many concerns, but from the moment we arrived at the gate, we received assistance, and the attention to detail was excellent until checkout. Fresh flowers were placed everywhere, delicious traditional sweets, a clean interior, and a pleasant bath. The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were exquisite. We were able to spend our time comfortably and leisurely until the end. Our elderly mother, who had become reluctant to go out, said she wanted to visit again, so a repeat visit is certain.

    A Ryokan with character

    It is a traditional and simple Ryokan, but it offers good value for money and a relaxing stay. The Onsen is free-flowing, and since it's not crowded, you can enjoy it leisurely. While there are more and more luxurious Ryokans that are simply expensive, this Ryokan is highly recommended.

    Sincere Stays

    I first stayed here in June this year and have been eagerly looking forward to returning ever since. Once again, I was able to enjoy a rich time wrapped in genuine hospitality. It's easy to say "with all my heart," but in this era, it's harder to find it. However, this inn is filled with heartfelt care, both in its cuisine and hospitality. Although the heart cannot be seen, this inn provides healing for modern people like myself, who are often swayed by only what is visible. I look forward to staying here again. Thank you very much.

    The best in the past

    I have introduced more than 10 Stays to my parents so far. They came back and said they wanted to go again immediately this time. It's the first time ever. They praised the service and thoughtfulness of the Property. They were impressed by the heartfelt conversation during meals and the send-off when leaving, saying it was the most heartfelt experience they've ever had. The meals were delicious, and even my mother, who usually eats little, finished everything, which is rare. The bath temperature was just right, and they ended up taking a long bath. This time, my parents were truly taken care of. Hearing my parents' impressions, I also definitely want to visit.

    A cozy but calm Stays

    The bath and meals were good. They were kind to the elderly accompanying us. The property was clean, and although time has passed, the cleaning was thorough and excellent. The food was delicious both at night and in the morning. It was a pity that there was no hair tonic in the bathroom. Due to the structure of the building, stairs are unavoidable, but it would be better if there were some barrier-free arrangements.

    I want to become a repeat guest.

    Thank you for your hospitality. We were moved by the explanation of each dish and enjoyed delicious meals while having conversations. At the end, we were honored that the head chef came to greet us personally. Fresh flowers were arranged everywhere, lemon water was prepared after the bath, the building's decor, and the attentiveness and hospitality of the staff, including the proprietress, were perfect for my wife. It was a great memory to see the supermoon at Mizuki. It's also nice to be able to enjoy the flowing bath without worrying about early morning or late-night hours. We look forward to visiting again.

    Wonderful accommodation

    The room, meals, hot springs, customer service, hygiene, and hospitality were all perfect at this inn. I'm really glad I stayed here! While many inns nowadays use artificial flowers that require no maintenance, there were fresh flowers displayed everywhere. The large windows with views of greenery were spotless without any traces of water droplets. Even the older parts of the inn were so clean that you could imagine they had been meticulously cleaned every day for years. The way the proprietress and a young woman skillfully set the sheets was beautiful. This is what hospitality is all about! It was a two-day stay that taught me that. Thank you very much. I will definitely visit again!

    The room was spaciou...

    The room was spacious enough for three people to relax comfortably. The cleaning was thorough in every corner. The proprietress and the staff were very pleasant and kind, allowing us to have a comfortable stay. The food and drinks were also very delicious. Although it was a one-night stay from Saturday evening, it was a moment that allowed us to forget about everyday life. Thank you for taking care of us. I definitely want to visit again.
