    An accommodation that is more modest than expected.

    Based on the concept of "forgetting the everyday," there are no TVs in the rooms, so after sunset when the sea view disappears, there isn't much to do in the Room. The lobby, while functional, lacks the luxurious resort feel and is more like a standard lobby. The overall atmosphere, including the building, feels older and gives off the vibe of a modest countryside Hotel. The meals are served in a restaurant with a Japanese ambiance, but aside from the sashimi, the courses are Western-style and lack a stylish presentation. It wasn't necessarily bad, but it fell short of expectations and left no lasting impression, especially considering the price, which felt a bit underwhelming. The bed, however, was extremely comfortable. This Hotel may not be suitable for those seeking a stylish resort experience.

    The atmosphere of the Hotel and the Onsen were great. However, the next day my arm was itchy, and upon checking, it seemed like I was bitten by mites. I wanted to end my stay with good memories, but unfortunately, it was disappointing in the end.

    Clear your mind and embrace the energy of the morning sun.

    I have stayed here multiple times, but the weather was never favorable until this time when I finally got to see the sunrise. It truly refreshes the soul and gives me energy to keep going! There are so many things I love about this accommodation... The Onsen that leaves your skin silky smooth! The open-air bath with a view of the ocean and soothing sound of waves is simply amazing. Enjoying craft beer on the deck before dinner after a relaxing bath is also fantastic. I always look forward to the service at the lobby lounge, especially my favorite—making fresh-squeezed orange juice myself. The cold brew iced coffee is also delicious. This time, I stayed in a room with a balcony for the first time, and napping in the evening breeze felt so good that I fell asleep for real. At night, we lit up the fireplace and roasted marshmallows—it was such a treat! In the morning, although it was quite sunny and I worried about getting sunburned, I'm sure I'll choose a room with a balcony again next time. See you next year!

    Highly rated and visited with high expectations, but the food was average, and the service for pre-meal drinks and snacks was somewhat lacking. However, the bath had excellent water quality, stunning views, and provided a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. That said, the price is high, making it poor in cost performance; unlikely to revisit.

    Great Onsen, great staff, great food

    First-time stay for one night. Onsen: Excellent. No crowds, allowing for a relaxing soak. Service: Great. Check-in was done at the lounge next to the front desk, where tea and sweets were served. Unfortunately, I didn’t like either (sweat). It would be nice to have an option for cold drinks instead. Since it was matcha, which I’m not fond of, I asked for cold water instead but received lukewarm water in a regular glass (laugh). Apologies to the staff as this might have been unexpected on their part. Meals: Good overall. The vegetables for shabu-shabu were slightly wilted, and the base of the lettuce was discolored, which made me feel a bit disappointed while eating. The meat also seemed slightly dry—perhaps it had been pre-arranged on plates and stored in the fridge? However, thanks to the excellent service from staff members who made up for these minor issues, I didn’t feel right mentioning them directly at that time—so let’s call it even! Both breakfast and dinner were otherwise very satisfying. This is an unpretentious Hotel perfect for enjoying Onsen, meals, and simply relaxing during your trip. It’s a place that makes you want to plan another stay in the future!

    Excellent!

    Stayed in the most luxurious maisonette with a private open-air Onsen at this accommodation. Although it felt a bit pricey, the indulgent service made it worth every penny. While there is already a large public bath offering breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, having a private open-air Onsen was truly exceptional. Soaking in the hot spring while listening to seagulls and enjoying complete privacy was an unforgettable experience. The meals were outstanding, featuring ultra-fresh seafood caught locally at "Maehama," along with luxurious dishes like Shiraoi beef and king crab for dinner. Breakfast was personally served by a chef in our room—truly the best breakfast we've ever had. The balcony offered an eco-friendly bonfire experience using state-of-the-art bioethanol fuel that produced no waste and lasted for four hours. Relaxing on the balcony chairs while listening to the sound of waves was absolutely blissful. We also enjoyed local craft beer outdoors and were delighted to meet "Poko," their shy large dog. It’s an annual luxury treat for us, but we’re already looking forward to next year!

    Nano Mist

    It was our first stay at Umi no Bettei Furukawa, and Room 202 was amazing! The maisonette suite included a nano mist room, and the views from both the second and first floors were stunning. The guestroom bath with a view on the basement level felt like an open-air bath with its windows open. We entered from the second floor, but there was also a door on the first floor, which made it super convenient to access the large public bath and dining area! This time we chose a trial Plan, so the meals were standard, but next time we plan to upgrade for an even better experience. Room 202 is truly exceptional!

    A Relaxing and Hospitable Accommodation by the Sea

    I stayed for one night with my best friend. Both of us lost our husbands to illness. For several years, we devoted ourselves to caregiving and could not stay at accommodations like this. To us, who have experienced such a great loss, the sea, the waves, the seagulls, and the stars were all so gentle... We felt the deep healing power of the ocean in our souls. I have stayed here several times in the past, but I have never felt nature's healing as profoundly as I did at this accommodation. Everything about your hospitality was comforting; the meals were both beautiful and delicious. I would love to come back again. When my best friend returns home next time, we hope to see the sea again and share our gratitude for nearly 60 years of friendship while reminiscing together. Thank you very much!

    Highly Satisfying Accommodation

    This was my first time staying here, and I was extremely satisfied with the accommodation. Located right in front of the sea, it offers breathtaking views. At check-in, there was a section to write down your birthday, and even though my birthday had already passed, they kindly provided special services such as champagne and exclusive dishes. The meals featured fresh seafood and produce from Hokkaido, which were not only delicious but also beautifully presented. I enjoyed sampling Japanese sake, late-night snacks, and a variety of teas during my stay. Throughout my visit, I experienced exceptional hospitality at every moment.

    A must-visit accommodation in your lifetime. Everything exceeds your imagination.

    The accommodation is located along the coastline, offering an uninterrupted view of the sea. The breathtaking scenery left me in awe, making me question where I was—it felt like I wasn’t even in Japan anymore. Initially, I wanted to enjoy a stunning view at a hotel near Lake Toya. However, traveling there by train from Noboribetsu Onsen Bus Stop would take time. This accommodation offers shuttle service from Noboribetsu Station and is just a 5-minute drive away. The option to be picked up at your preferred time after 1 PM was also very appealing. Compared to Lake Toya, Kojohama exceeded all expectations with its incredible views. Everything here is top-notch and beyond amazing—this has become my No.1 stay experience so far. An unimaginable ocean view that surpasses expectations. High-quality ingredients served generously in every meal. There’s no sign of “cost-cutting” in the owner’s approach to running this hotel; it’s clear they want guests to have only the best experiences possible, which can be felt throughout every aspect of their hospitality. This warmth extends to all staff members as well—they are calm and kind-hearted. (Personal suggestions for improvement: - Staff conversations could prioritize guests’ needs more effectively; for example, one staff member explained each menu item again even though it had already been covered earlier—I wished for quicker service as it was late dining hours. - Avoid asking personal questions that might make guests uncomfortable. - A sunrise wake-up call requested at the front desk didn’t happen despite clear skies—a small disappointment.) Perfectly positioned chairs with great comfort levels for seating or resting your head on them; futons so cozy they feel like you’re being gently pulled into sleep; impeccable cleanliness everywhere you look; CDs that match the ocean views perfectly; displays showcasing local history and culture (photos of Kojohama and books about Ainu heritage); herbal teas beneficial for health—all these thoughtful touches enhance your stay. The onsen allows you to soak while gazing out at waves crashing against stunning scenery below—a truly unique experience! Meals are served with ocean views too—whether enjoying tea or dining.     A Resort for the Soul

    Stayed here for my husband's birthday trip. The staff were incredibly kind and soothing, creating a relaxing atmosphere. The food was all delicious, and I ended up eating too much! We booked a room with a terrace, and it was perfect for digital detox—enjoying the ocean view without touching my phone. Listening to the sound of the waves was truly healing.     I had a relaxing time.

    I revisited to relax my body after a hectic January and February at work. The clean facilities and rooms, the calm atmosphere of the lounge with amazake and light snacks, and the delicious meals—this place is truly the best. My husband was also very pleased. Time flew by as I gazed at the outdoor torches from the lounge, completely forgetting that there was no TV in the Room. I enjoyed a leisurely bath, and above all, seeing Haru-chan and Poco-chan’s cuteness instantly lifted my spirits. In the morning, after taking a bath, I happened to look over at the dog run area where one of them seemed to be out for a walk (I couldn’t tell which from afar). Watching them resist being taken back inside by staff—a "refusal Great Pyrenees" moment—made me so happy. This experience has motivated me to work hard again so I can return here someday. Thank you very much!

    A Journey to the Furukawa Suite

    This time, only one suite room was available, so we stayed with my husband, also considering the direction on the day of Kagami Biraki. The full-course Japanese meal, the spacious room with good energy flow, the private open-air bath, the sea, the sunrise, and the moon clearly floating in the starry sky with Orion were full of mood, allowing us to relax and recharge. I felt like I received this year's luck. Even after returning home, the afterglow and luck continue. I am grateful for the numerous hospitality and would like to stay in the suite again.     A solo Onsen trip after a long time

    A solo onsen trip after a long time. While I have visited onsen areas like Jozankei and Lake Toya in Hokkaido, I had not experienced the area around Noboribetsu, so I searched in this vicinity. I chose this property because it met the conditions of being suitable for a solo female traveler and accessible without a rental car, and I was attracted by the presence of a resident dog and a bioethanol fireplace in the room. In the end, I was very satisfied. If I had to say, there were a few things that felt a bit excessive for a solo trip. Bath: The large public bath was very spacious, not only indoors but also the open-air bath, and I particularly liked the sleeping bath area in the open-air bath. It was wonderful to be able to lie down in the open-air bath with only the sky and sea in view. The plan also included the use of a stone sauna and a private bath. The stone sauna allowed for a gentle sweat and detox. Since it was a solo trip, I thought the private bath might not have been necessary, and even if coming with multiple people, going to the large public bath, using the stone sauna, and then the private bath felt a bit hectic. They took time reservations at check-in, so I used everything, but adjusting the reservation times seemed quite cumbersome and required several exchanges. Overall, I felt it would be better to offer these as optional with additional charges for those who need them, rather than as a default. Meals: There were plenty of Hokkaido-like ingredients, and it was delicious. They served a variety of dishes, and since the portions were large, I got full midway and ate slowly, but the server kindly suggested, "I think you should eat this while it's warm," showing great hospitality. Breakfast was also very delicious, and I was particularly impressed by the freshly cooked rice. Incidentally, there were times in between to drink beer or have snacks, making for a packed schedule of events. While this was appreciated, there were free drinks in the room and the dinner portions were large, so I was constantly full. Service: Overall, it was very pleasant. The energy of the lady serving breakfast was particularly outstanding. The friendly atmosphere among the staff was also conveyed. I finally got to greet the resident dog in the morning. It was very cute. Summary: I was able to relax very much, but overall it was a bit excessive. Haha. But perhaps that's just right for an onsen property.

    I learned about this seaside villa when I visited Jozankei's Furukawa and decided to visit. The location, service, and bath were all excellent. I was able to relax and forget the hustle and bustle of daily life. I went alone, but the staff were very attentive and made me feel at ease.

    The food is delicious.

    The meals were delicious. They were on par with or even better than those at high-end Ryokans in the area. If I had to point out something, the food and drinks in the lounge were a bit lacking. The drinks were unimpressive, and the food was just okay. I don't recall any fruits after the meal. There probably were some fruits, but they were so unimpressive that they didn't leave a lasting impression.

    It was a lovely and warm, rustic Stays.

    It's a family trip. Although it's not the main course of a tourist trip to Hokkaido, I am very satisfied with my choice. The service and food were simple and warm, and I was able to relax comfortably for the first time in a while. It was impressive that my mother, who doesn't eat much, ate a lot. Waiting for the sunrise from the sea while listening to the sound of the waves. Unexpected experiences also became good memories. Thank you very much.

    A truly relaxing Stays

    We stayed to celebrate my parents' 80th birthday. The concept this time was for each of us to relax and spend time as we liked. From the moment we arrived at the property, we were greeted with warm hospitality, and my mother was moved the moment she saw the vast ocean from the room window. My parents live in a town not far from Shiraoi with a sea, and they said they were used to seeing the ocean, but the view from the window was different. Usually, my parents watch TV whenever they have free time, but they forgot about the TV and were satisfied with the onsen, the scenery, and the cuisine made with local ingredients. I was also completely satisfied, and the sky I looked up at from the open-air bath while listening to the sound of the waves truly healed me from the bottom of my heart. My elderly parents took it easy at their own pace. I, who wanted to enjoy various things, was able to have a pleasant time with craft beer and homemade smoked snacks on the deck after a bath. I am grateful to all the staff for their warm hospitality and smiles at all times. When we were leaving the property, my mother said, "When I run away from home, I'll come here, so please take care of me," which made me burst out laughing. It is truly a recommended stay.

    Various disappointing aspects stood out.

    Upon check-in, you are guided to your room after enjoying tea and sweets in the lounge, but even if you are still drinking, you are asked to move to the room. You are accompanied to the room, but there is no consideration for your luggage. It seemed like the staff was new, as they were reading the manual diligently. After that, it is a pleasant service to enjoy alcohol and beer in the lounge, but the quality of the food prepared together is low, with a taste that makes you think the oil is old, and a texture that feels damp, which was not to my liking. The dinner I was looking forward to also had many dishes that did not suit my taste, which was disappointing. It was not so much a refined subtle flavor as it was lacking something. There was nothing that made me feel reluctant to finish eating, and since the volume was decent, I somehow finished it with momentum. Dessert is served in the lounge. After finishing the meal, I was told to head to the lounge, but there was no staff present. After standing for a while, an older male staff member came, so I asked him to clear the dishes left on the table. Despite the table being dirty with spilled drinks from the previous guest, it was not wiped clean. Later, a female staff member brought the dessert and was about to place it on the dirty table without concern, which surprised me. There was nothing particularly noteworthy about breakfast. The Onsen was good, but the employees' chatter in the changing room was noisy and distracting. The most difficult part was the room temperature control. It was too hot to sleep, and when I checked the room's air conditioning, it could not switch between heating and cooling, only showing heating. I considered consulting the front desk, but I gave up and opened the window because the response from the night front desk staff was poor when I asked about another matter. The sound of the waves and wind was loud, and I could hardly sleep. The next morning, I noticed a sign in the elevator saying that today was air conditioning operation. If only this had been explained at check-in... There was no send-off after check-out. I wanted to indulge in a luxurious vacation feeling, but dissatisfaction with the staff's response and lack of sleep made it impossible. I was truly disappointed because my expectations were high. I will not be visiting again.

    Stressful Stays

    The snacks were never replenished, and the fried apple peel snacks and leftover feeling of the dinner dessert were very cheap-looking. It's not bad to use things without waste, but please choose the right time and place. Why not eat the apple peels yourselves? Why is there a need to serve that to guests? There were also issues with some employees hanging up the phone abruptly and having a bad attitude, and there were no spoons for the tea leaves in the tea room, no tongs for the snacks, etc., which made me wonder if many people were touching them directly with their hands. This lack of hygiene and other issues made for a generally stressful stay.

    Autumn Family Trip

    This is my third stay at this Hotel, and every visit brings fresh surprises and excitement. The rooms have been renovated without me noticing, with a good flow of energy, cleanliness, and great usability. The location offers a constant view of the sea, allowing me to relax by reading on the sofa or listening to music. The bed was comfortable, and the towels were plentiful. The meals, including seafood, Shiraoi Wagyu steak, and homemade desserts, were delicious, and I fully enjoyed the Onsen and open-air baths, recharging with the power of nature. It's a favorite spot that always makes me want to return. I am very satisfied this time as well. Thank you for taking care of me.

    It was excellent.

    I stayed here for my mother's birthday. It was very accessible, located right off the Noboribetsu East Interchange on the highway, and the room with a view of the ocean was fantastic. We had a room with a terrace, which had a bioethanol fireplace, and marshmallows that my daughters were looking forward to were provided, which we enjoyed. The meal was served by a very pleasant gentleman who prepared everything with a smile, took photos for us, and made the dining experience very enjoyable and delicious. For my mother's 80th birthday, they gave us a commemorative gift with a photo attached to a colored paper, which was a wonderful keepsake. Thank you very much. We ordered an extra sea urchin platter, and it was absolutely delicious and very satisfying. We were served champagne as part of the celebration, but I felt sorry for leaving it as I'm not good with alcohol. My mother was delighted. I wanted to give all five stars, but there was just one thing. I was looking forward to using the outdoor footbath, but it was very lukewarm and cold, which was a bit disappointing. The large public bath was wonderful! I've decided this is a place I want to visit again. Thank you very much.

    This is my third time staying here, and once again, I was healed by the amazing scenery and hospitality. The Shiraoi beef was incredibly delicious. I definitely want to use this place again, but there were quite a few disappointments this time. I couldn't see the sunrise, the person in charge at dinner was inexperienced and hard to hear, the person in charge at checkout was blunt, the outdoor footbath was too hot to use when I went, the private bath pass suddenly disappeared and I had to ask for an explanation, and the frozen cherries that my child was really looking forward to were never available no matter how many times we went. During our stay, we were very satisfied with the various services, scenery, and baths, and spent the ultimate bliss. I was also happy to meet the dog. Thank you for taking care of us.

    The sunrise is amazing!

    We stayed at Bettei Furusato during a golf trip with my wife. Fortunately, we were blessed with good weather and were able to see a magnificent sunrise over the Pacific Ocean. I also think the concept of relaxing in a room without a TV is wonderful. The hot springs, meals, and the attentiveness of the staff were all excellent, making it a very satisfying stay.

    I had a wonderful time.

    I had a very wonderful time. The staff's meticulous attention, smiles, various services, delicious food, the room with a breathtaking view, and the adorable Poco-chan... it became the best memory. I would love to stay again.
