A Ryokan located within Miho no Matsubara

Rather than just being near Miho no Matsubara, it felt like there was a Ryokan right within it. You can easily take a walk to Miho no Matsubara and the beach. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and we enjoyed the scent of hinoki in the in-room bath. If I have the chance, I would like to stay again.

We stayed with my grandparents and uncle to celebrate my grandparents’ 90th birthday. They were delighted to receive a pair of matching chopsticks as a gift. During the meal, my grandfather accidentally bumped his hand while serving one dish and spilled everything, causing trouble; we were very grateful that it was kindly prepared again. Most of the staff were non-Japanese except for the proprietress. At times we weren’t sure if we were fully understood, but everyone was very kind and we had a comfortable stay.

A historic, Showa-era retro accommodation with attentive hospitality

A historic, Showa-era retro Accommodation where members of the imperial family, movie stars, politicians, athletes, and other notable guests once stayed. A Nepalese attendant provides heartfelt hospitality—more Japanese than Japanese—from welcome to dinner and breakfast service through to farewell. A two-room Room with a cypress bath and a beautifully maintained garden. Each dish is prepared with great care; the abalone and sakura shrimp sashimi in particular are as vibrant as they are delicious. The Hotel is located at Miho no Matsubara, and after breakfast we enjoyed a relaxed walk of about two hours to Hagoromo no Matsu, Kamagasaki, Kami no Michi, Miho Shrine, and Mihoshirube.

    The staff was wonderful.

We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days at the traditional Ryokan "Hagoromo," located in Miho no Matsubara, a place loved by Ieyasu, where Mount Fuji and pine groves harmonize beautifully, to celebrate my wife's birthday. The proprietress kindly gifted us a pair of "husband-and-wife chopsticks" as a birthday present, and we enjoyed delicious kinmedai (golden eye snapper). The staff's hospitality was excellent, and upon inquiry, we learned that all of them were from other parts of Asia. Needless to say, their Japanese was fluent. Their heartfelt service left both my wife and me surprised and deeply moved. It was a satisfying trip filled with warmth that reminded us of something Japan may have lost over time.

    Delicious

We stayed at the accommodation for a family trip. The sashimi served at dinner was perfect in both freshness and volume, and the kinmedai shabu-shabu was incredibly delicious. It seems to be a historic ryokan; while the building appears old, it is well-maintained and provided a comfortable stay. The assortment of unique sweets from the ryokan that we enjoyed in our room was very tasty. We were also given some as souvenirs upon departure, which made our family very happy.

    The photos on IKYU.c...

The photos on IKYU.com and the Hotel were different from what I imagined. The foreign staff members were polite and nice, but it might be better to have Japanese staff as well. There isn't much around Miho no Matsubara with its Showa-era atmosphere, except for this Hotel, leaving an impression of having too much free time. Inside the Hotel, there is only a large public bath available. Considering the affordable price, I find it reasonable.

    Located in the World...

Located in the World Heritage Site of Miho no Matsubara, the Hotel boasts an excellent location. By reviewing all aspects such as Facilities, dining, hospitality, and various events with the community, it is believed that attracting more guests and increasing revenue is certain. Therefore, while my evaluation may be strict and humble at this time, I look forward to seeing a transformed Hagoromo Hotel at Miho no Matsubara in a few years.

    It was a satisfying Property.

It was my first time using this service, but I had a great time without feeling any dissatisfaction. The best part is definitely the location, being just a stone's throw away from "Hagoromo no Matsu."

    It was a memorable trip.

This was my first time staying for my mother's retirement celebration. I felt the staff's thoughtfulness throughout and was able to spend the entire time with a warm feeling. All the staff were very pleasant, kind, and courteous. Unexpectedly, my mother received a gift of chopsticks, which moved both her and me. Dinner was a seafood feast. There were many dishes, but each had a gentle taste and was delicious, so we were able to finish everything. My grandmother, who is over 90 years old, was with us and ate surprisingly well. I thought the soy milk hot pot could have been a bit saltier. When we returned to the room after dinner, the futon was neatly laid out, and there was a handmade pine cookie with a message on the table. I was moved by this warm service. Thanks to this, my mother, grandmother, and I were able to have a wonderful time. I would like to stay again if I have the opportunity to visit the Shimizu area. Thank you very much.

I was able to relax with my mother.

I was looking for a Stays where three generations could stay together and found this Property. Since it was a weekend stay, it was a bit pricey, but the service was worth the price. All the staff who assisted us were from overseas. The service was excellent, and they mentioned they were from Nepal. [Room] The Room was spacious and clean. While we were out for dinner, they laid out the futon for us, which is a typical Japanese style. Upon arrival, they served us warm tea and sweets, which helped relieve our travel fatigue. The Room also had a bath. Facial wash and lotion were provided. [Bath] There was a large bath that alternated use by time. Since there weren't many guest rooms, we didn't often encounter other guests and could relax. The large bath also had facial wash and lotion. There were cold drinks and a foot massager available. The open-air bath was a bit small and lukewarm, so we didn't feel like using it much. [Meals] Each dish was carefully prepared and was wonderful! The timing of the serving was perfect, and the portions were just right. There was sashimi, and it was almost too much to finish. The dessert included delicious oranges, strawberries, and dried persimmons. It was a very satisfying meal. For our 2-year-old child, we were delighted to receive miso soup, white rice, and furikake. Since the child was without meals and bedding, we thought we would share from our portions, but receiving this rice set initially was very helpful! The meal for the kindergarten child included shrimp fry, fried chicken, hamburger steak, and grilled rice balls, which made the child smile with joy. There were even sweets at the end! We were grateful for the meal that understood children's preferences. [Hospitality] Although all the staff were foreigners, they provided excellent hospitality, and we had a very pleasant stay. [Location] You can reach the sea in about a 2-minute walk. The view of Mt. Fuji from the sea was very beautiful. In the opposite direction, you can also walk the "Path of the Gods" (Kami no Michi). It got dark quickly in the evening, but it was lit up, so we could walk even at night. It was a wonderful stay. Thank you very much.

We stayed as a family. We were very satisfied as we could relax and unwind. The surroundings were quiet, the room was very spacious, and the meals were divided by tables like semi-private rooms, allowing us to enjoy without worrying about others. We chose the course with kinmedai shabu-shabu, and we were surprised by the volume. It was our first time trying it, and it was very delicious, so we were glad we chose this course. The staff were mostly foreigners, but they were very polite, which was great. Thank you very much.
