    The entire building ...

The entire building is very old, and as mentioned in other reviews, some parts of the hotel had a strong moldy smell, which was unpleasant every time we passed through. The onsen was completely different from the pictures and located in an outdated facility. The women's bath had a large number of insects floating in it, making it unusable. The cold bath in the men's area was also out of service without any explanation. As someone who visited specifically for the onsen, this was very disappointing. However, the staff's service was excellent.

    Some parts of the fa...

Some parts of the facility, such as the wallpaper on the way to the large public bath, showed signs of wear and tear. Additionally, the water pressure in the showers at the large public bath was too strong and uncomfortable. The Hotel staff who guided us to our Room were unfriendly. The food was delicious but served in portions that were too large, so we couldn't finish it. It was disappointing compared to our previous visit when both the Facility and staff service were excellent. It would be appreciated if a spin dryer could be provided for use after swimming in the pool. The Room was clean, and the private bath was enjoyable.

I had high expectations, but I was disappointed!

【Disappointing Points】 ● The musty smell of mold throughout the room, the hallway to the large public bath, and the entire facility. It reminded us of an old vacation home. My partner has a mold allergy and experienced persistent coughing during and after our stay. ● Hygiene issues: The private open-air bath in our room felt slimy and seemed poorly cleaned. There was a large spider web in the upper right corner of the private open-air bath area. ● The large public bath was too far away, and both the bath area and locker room felt abandoned, which was unsettling! Is the Onsen water in the outdoor public bath not being circulated? Concerns about hygiene arose as well. Additionally, walking on the stone-paved approach was painful. ● The welcome and send-off felt rushed or careless—perhaps due to staff shortages? 【Positive Points】 ● The view was spectacular! ● The layout of our room was comfortable. ● While most staff displayed good hospitality, it was disappointing to see some wearing their uniforms sloppily. ● The simmered kinmedai (golden eye snapper) dish was absolutely delicious. As someone who travels monthly to Onsen Ryokans across Japan for comparison, this experience left me with a somewhat disappointing impression for its price point. However, given its great location and decent facilities overall, I sincerely hope improvements will be made!

    The view is spectacular.

The ocean view is amazing. The staff were very pleasant, the Room was spacious, and we were able to relax completely! We would love to visit again. The meals were also delicious. At other ryokans in Chiba, we often felt overwhelmed by an excessive amount of fish dishes, but here, the balance of fish, meat, and vegetables was perfect for us as middle-aged light eaters. (For those who want to indulge in a lot of seafood, the standard course might feel insufficient.)

Inubosaki Villa Umi to Mori (Attracted by Spa Bimori and Dining)

I watched the broadcast of "Tabi Salad" and decided to make a Reservation for this trip, focusing on meals and spa treatments rather than sightseeing. The spacious Hotel was very comfortable, and arriving early allowed me to relax in the large Onsen, which was very satisfying. However, it was disappointing that the cleaning of the open-air bath was not up to standard. The open-air bath in the Room with a view of the ocean... was absolutely amazing. The meals featuring fresh fish were incredibly satisfying. Above all, what I loved most was "Spa Mimori," located in a separate building. It reminded me of an esthetic treatment I had in Bali.

    It was a disappointing Hotel.

We parked the car in front of the entrance and unloaded our luggage, but despite several staff being present in the lobby, no one came out to assist. We had no choice but to carry our luggage ourselves and entered the front lobby, only to find that the staff at the counter did not even greet us. After being informed that we would check in there, we were made to wait for a few more minutes before finally entering our room. Both dinner and breakfast consisted of ordinary menus found anywhere and did not justify the accommodation cost at all. It was a disappointing hotel experience.

    A breathtaking accommodation.

We stayed as a family of three—my father, mother, and I (daughter)—to celebrate my mother's 77th birthday. Thank you for your thoughtful gestures, such as preparing a purple celebratory vest, adding crane decorations, and including a message since we mentioned it was for her milestone celebration. My mother was very pleased. The view from the room was fantastic, and the sound of the waves was soothing. It was also nice to have a coffee machine in the lounge where we could enjoy freshly brewed coffee freely. One disappointing aspect was that there were some stains on the toilet walls that looked like drips, which felt unpleasant. Additionally, it was hard to find the large public bath area; it felt dimly lit and somewhat scary. However, with our private open-air bath offering great views in our room, there wasn’t much need to visit the public bath anyway. The meals were plentiful with many dishes to enjoy—we were very satisfied! It would have been even better if fruits had been included at breakfast. On another note, some staff at reception on the following day lacked smiles or greetings when passing by; this left us slightly disappointed. Overall though, we had an excellent stay at this accommodation and would love to visit again!

With my husband, just the two of us

I stayed here with my husband for a long-awaited trip, but the private open-air bath in the room was not Onsen and the water was dirty. The meals were not particularly elaborate, and there was no sense of excitement.

    The Room is good, but

The room with a private bath was good, but the service, except during meals, was poor, and there seemed to be a lack of staff. Perhaps it was because it was a Friday stay and fewer staff were available. I have stayed at several accommodations in Chiba Prefecture within the same price range, but this one was slightly disappointing.

    Stunning Views and Excellent Service

We recently stayed with a group of 15, including our grandchildren. The service was very attentive, the meals were delicious, the interior was modern and luxurious, and the view from the Room was spectacular. In Inubosaki, located at the easternmost point of mainland Japan overlooking the Pacific Ocean, you can enjoy tide-pooling on the coast—highly recommended for families with children. Lastly, my grandchild forgot a toy bracelet, but the hostess kindly delivered it to Choshi Station for us. Thank you so much for your hospitality; it became a wonderful family travel memory!

No additional charges: Discrepancy between IKYU and on-site billing.

This review highlights several areas for improvement, including service efficiency, meal flexibility, room facilities, and cleanliness. The overall experience did not meet expectations, with concerns about pricing discrepancies between IKYU.com and the Hotel. Significant improvements are recommended. Thank you for your feedback.

    There are many good ...

There are many good points. However, it is surprising that there is no place to hang used towels in the Hotel. Isn't ending access to the Onsen at 8:00 AM the next day a bit too early?

    I had high expectations.

The Room was clean, but the peeling wallpaper in the hallway gave a sense of aging. The meal was served in a banquet hall, which was surprising. Although the seats were spaced apart, the atmosphere wasn't particularly pleasant. As for the food, there wasn’t anything especially delicious. Even the sashimi we were looking forward to was just average. The bath area wasn’t crowded, but one sauna wasn’t operational and one bath seemed unused. Perhaps I missed noticing a switch for the jacuzzi? While there was no jacuzzi in the women’s bath, it seemed to be available in the men’s bath where children appeared to enjoy themselves. Although spacious, it was hard to distinguish between each bath as there didn’t seem to be any noticeable temperature differences. The long distance from our Room to the baths also made multiple visits unappealing. In the library area, coffee could be enjoyed freely; however, aside from a few picture books for children, there weren’t any books worth reading. Amenities were standard—there weren’t even hair ties provided—and towels had to be brought from our Room with only two sets per person available. For two adults and two elementary school children during Golden Week pricing (even with 20,000 yen off using IKYU Points... without that discount it would have exceeded 160,000 yen), paying over 140,000 yen felt underwhelming for this quality of experience. I don’t think we’ll return again.

    Please enjoy our coffee!

The room's bath, the freshness of the sashimi in the meals, and the views from various spots were all exceptional. The coffee is crafted with great care, even selling their own beans, and enjoying a hand-dripped cup while gazing at the sea was absolutely delightful. If you visit, be sure to try it! This is an accommodation I would love to revisit when given the chance!

    Bath

Upon closer inspection, it was clearly stated that the bath attached to the room is not an Onsen. However, I thought it couldn't be helped even if the bath wasn't an Onsen. The meals had a large variety of dishes, but none left a lasting impression. For 65,000 yen, it felt extremely overpriced.

    It was a relaxing experience.

Dinner features stable and delicious options such as simmered golden eye snapper, sashimi, and shabu-shabu! The appetizers were different from those in March and paired perfectly with drinks. Thank you to the staff for their kind hospitality! Conveniently located near Inubosaki Lighthouse!

    Dinner and Breakfast

    - For dinner, I would have appreciated being informed about additional options. If I had known lobster was available, I would have ordered it. I felt hungry late at night but managed to sleep through it. As for the refrigerator contents, it would be ideal to have 5 bottles of water and 3 bottles of tea instead of just 1 bottle of water and a total of 4 bottles. - For breakfast, there was a hot pot dish served, but if that's the case, I would have liked natto to be included as well.

Accommodation with a view of Inubosaki Lighthouse

I stayed at the accommodation with my mother this time. The hotel staff were kind, greeted us at the entrance, and even carried our luggage. The room was spacious with a great view from the terrace, and watching the sunrise was amazing. The meals were served in semi-private rooms, allowing us to dine comfortably; both the simmered golden-eye snapper and sashimi were delicious. The tofu at breakfast was also tasty, as well as the welcome drink tea. I had a wonderful time. Thank you very much!

I was able to relax and unwind comfortably.

The view from the Room and the large public bath was excellent, with features like a sky terrace adding to the experience. The Hotel offered a spacious atmosphere and beautiful scenery, creating a calm and pleasant ambiance. The open-air bath in the Room was wonderful, and the food was exceptionally delicious.

    Expensive Accommodation Only in Price

No welcome or farewell service, and the front lobby smelled like air freshener, which was unpleasant. They only helped carry one piece of luggage, so we had to carry most of the belongings for our family of four ourselves—an experience we've never had before. There was only one staff member at the front desk, which was surprising. Despite it being spring break, there were only a few cars in the parking lot, which gave us a bad feeling—and it turned out to be true. The large public bath had empty tubs and an unusable sauna—it felt like a haunted house. The food included seafood but came in such excessive quantities that it was overwhelming. This is not the kind of meal you'd expect from accommodation costing 70,000 yen per person. The dessert seemed like cheap store-bought items served as-is. It felt like they imitated the surface-level appearance of luxury accommodations but failed miserably overall. Our mood dropped so much that we wish we could get our spring break back. It's embarrassing to admit this place costs about the same as last spring's stay at Hiramatsu Atami's special sukiya-style room!

    The food is not delicious.

Several light bulbs in the large public bath were out, making it dim, and many unused bathtubs were present. The clock was stopped, giving it an abandoned feel. Many lockers in the large public bath were broken, with numerous ones left open as they couldn't be locked. It felt eerie and unsettling to enter alone. Additionally, reaching the large public bath required walking a considerable distance through a dimly lit corridor with an unpleasant odor. Dinner was served in a room resembling an old wedding hall with many tables set up, shared with other guests in the same room. The dishes lacked appeal and weren't very tasty; however, the simmered golden-eye snapper was delicious. It felt reminiscent of old national lodges. The room had an open-air bath attached and was spacious with two TVs and clean facilities, which seemed like a waste given the state of other areas. Considering its condition, discontinuing the use of the large public bath might be better. The service provided by foreign staff members was satisfactory overall.

The Facility did not meet the expectations based on the price level.

Compared to other accommodations in the same price range, the services and facilities expected at this price level were slightly disappointing. The detached room was excellent. However: - The main building's large public bath did not have the sauna or stone spa operating. - The ocean view from the open-air bath in the large public bath was almost nonexistent. - The pathway between the detached room and the hotel’s main building might be challenging for those with weak legs or mobility issues. On a positive note, all of the hotel staff were wonderful and delightful individuals. We look forward to seeing this accommodation become even more attractive in the future!

    Thank you for your patronage.

During a day trip to Choshi, I received a facility guide and decided to stay at this accommodation. The room was spacious, the meals were delicious, and I had a relaxing time. Although access to the large public bath was slightly inconvenient, it was an excellent accommodation. Thank you for your hospitality.

    Unfortunately...

The room's facilities were not particularly problematic, but I was concerned about the smell in the room. There was no welcome drink prepared upon arrival, so I made green tea with the pot and teabags provided in the room. However, the smell bothered me so much that I ended up replacing all of the pot's water with natural spring water myself. I had high expectations for the meals, but we were directed to a banquet hall. While a buffet breakfast might be acceptable, having dinner in a banquet hall is not typical for a Ryokan of this class. The kinmedai sashimi was delicious, but other than that, the meal content was quite ordinary. My family tried to console me by saying it felt like a school trip... We also visited the large communal bath located at some distance away; however, despite its spacious changing area, it felt deserted and lacked heating—making it cold even after bathing. Although only the open-air bath was said to be an Onsen (hot spring), its source outlet had been stopped with no hot water flowing out; additionally there were strong chlorine smells from indoor baths or unused ones while saunas were unavailable too. Overall impression suggested more emphasis on cost-saving than hospitality service here—if priced at half this rate perhaps understandable yet honestly unthinkable given current pricing levels!

    New Moon Night Sky

Stays are in winter. The new moon made the night sky beautiful. The stars seemed so big and close. Even the welcome drink was delicious. The room, meals, and service were excellent. More than that, I always feel the wonderful care for guests permeating everything, providing a sense of security. Thank you very much.

    Room Information and Customer Service

The room guide was too fast. Even when pressing the call button during meals, there was no response, which personally makes me think that it becomes a Ryokan with just expensive rooms. However, the Room itself was quite nice, but whether it was due to strong winds or loud heating noise is unclear; even when drunk, I woke up every two hours. With hopes for future improvements, I dare to give a strict 3-star rating.

    A Blissful Moment

The Onsen was far away as it was a separate Facility, but I was lucky to have the open-air bath all to myself and enjoyed the spectacular view of the vast ocean. I am very satisfied with the Room, private open-air bath in the guest room, and cuisine. It would be perfect if only the hallway were warmer.

    What is the target?

Last Sunday, I stayed in a Japanese-Western style room on the third floor with my wife and our 1.5-year-old son. We had previously stayed here with my parents seven years ago and were looking forward to this visit as well. The room was spacious with an excellent view, and we had requested a Hollywood twin-style bed arrangement, but it was upgraded to a triple bed, which delighted our son as he rolled around on the beds. Additionally, they removed the shoji screens for childproofing purposes, perfectly accommodating our requests. For meals, they provided rice, miso soup, and juice for children along with fruit punch for dessert. The staff were very kind to our son and seemed to enjoy their time interacting with him. While we were satisfied since this trip focused on our toddler's enjoyment, there were some concerns elsewhere. The open-air bath offers great views and comfort; however, unlike last time during warmer weather when it wasn't an issue—this season makes stepping out of the shower booth feel chilly indeed! It doesn't need full enclosure but perhaps surrounding three sides could help block cold winds somewhat. Moreover within Hotel premises having larger-scale shop selling alcohol snacks souvenirs might make stay more comfortable—the lounge feels incomplete otherwise—and regarding meals: being in Choshi fresh seafood is desired so meat dishes seem unnecessary although I understand adding them caters those who dislike seafood or balances menu; still maybe offering choice between meat & seafood upon check-in would work? Sharing ingredients with Hotel Mikazuki could prevent food waste too! When asking front desk about buying local cabbage at checkout they directed us towards Select Market near Choshi Station yet found hardly any vegetables including cabbages there ultimately leading us into Aeon instead—a similar request made at Nakaizu Ryokan once resulted staff calling store confirming availability beforehand—that’s what matters here: your Property ranks among top-class luxury Ryokans Outer Boso area making trip enjoyable overall though comparing against same price range Onsen Ryokans nearby Kanto tourist spots like Izu Hakone Nikko leaves room improvement both hardware software aspects hoping further level-up ahead!
