It was a good family trip.

We stayed for two nights on a family trip. The room, onsen, and meals were all very satisfying. The food was especially excellent in both content and volume, and my daughters were also very pleased. There are multiple onsens available, and the open-air bath under the starry sky was refreshing for both body and mind. There were some minor issues with fittings like sliding doors or the door to the private bath in the room. Even so, it has become one of the properties we would like to visit again. Thank you for your hospitality.

Very good, but slightly lacking in some areas...!

Parking guidance, large public bath, open-air bath in the Room, Japanese-Western style room, and breakfast were all part of an experience that made us fans, including the children. The attention to detail, such as the Room minibar, light snacks at the rest area, and the late-night soba service, was very much appreciated. However, there were a few points we would like to see improved. Front Desk: We understand the desire for table check-in, but after signing in, no one came, and the guidance was full of mistakes. When we inquired about dinner, the response was, "Ah, that's a bit difficult," as if we were friends, which was quite unprofessional. Shoe Management: The style is to leave your shoes, but at checkout, one pair of shoes was missing from our claim tag. It seems another family's shoes were lost, and the staff took out our shoes without permission, asking, "Are these yours?" Eventually, we had to enter the management area to search for our shoes ourselves. This makes it too scary to leave our shoes. We really want proper management. We really want proper management. We think the staff, including the front desk, is insufficient. Futon: It's too hard like a rice cracker, so please do some maintenance.

    There is nothing but disappointment.

Stayed on 12/30 during the year-end, but the staff handling the guestbook seemed like a part-timer and responded curtly to questions about the facility. Although it was explained that there might not be yukata available, as expected, there were no yukata in my size. The room's courtyard had exposed wiring conduits, unkempt plants, and what seemed to be remnants of an old lantern base. The hotel management appears lacking as there was no sense of hospitality or proper service. It was such a terrible hotel experience that I will never stay here again, though I initially didn't want to file a complaint.

Impressions on Using Rooms with Open-Air Baths

I can't relax because I can hear the noise from the next room. The meat is tough and the food is bad. The amenities are no different from a Business Hotel.

    Inappropriate

I stayed for two nights this time, and was first surprised by the payment of over 170,000 yen, and the welcome drink upon arrival was a self-service coffee machine? Both dinner and breakfast were as expected, not impressive. There were many Chinese tourists due to inbound travel, and as expected in Kusatsu, the Onsen was the only good part.

The bath was satisfactory, the rest was so-so.

I traveled with close friends, so I didn't expect much luxury and was generally satisfied. The onsen is really nice. Since it's part of the Dormy Inn chain, they use methods to increase satisfaction with low-cost services like ice candy and night soba, but it doesn't feel bad, so there's no problem there. However, there were a few points of concern. Points of concern: ① First, the room's air conditioning was strange. In the middle of the night, a sudden blast of hot air came out, and all four of us, who were sleeping in two separate rooms, felt unwell and woke up. Even after adjusting the temperature, it was a cycle of being too cold and too hot, making it impossible to sleep. We ended up turning off the air conditioning. The room's air purifier is also old and not clean. ② Meal times are limited to 17:30 and 20:00. Honestly, both are too early or too late. ③ They promote a rental corner where you can freely choose yukata and pillows, but there are not enough, and I couldn't even choose a yukata that fit me, let alone a colored yukata. There was an announcement that it's on a first-come, first-served basis, but shouldn't there be enough for the last guest to choose their size? ④ There are no towels in the large public bath, so you have to bring them from your room, which is a bit inconvenient. Also, there is no space to hang towels in the room. I took it as a message from the property to only bathe once. ⑤ During dinner, we received a few dishes as a gift from the property, but we were told about it towards the end of the meal. We were eating while considering the overall amount, but we were too full to finish at the end. I thought it was a pseudo-luxury property like Hoshino Resorts.

    Guest Room Bath

The open-air bath in the Room is cold and difficult to use; a little enclosure would be nice.

    I relaxed.

Among the many Stays available, I chose to use Toki no Niwa. It was good. The entire facility had tatami and flooring, so there was no hassle with slippers. There were many baths, and although they were a bit hot, I enjoyed them. The meals were good in both quantity and taste. However, there was no miso in the breakfast! The chashu was missing from the yonaki soba! I couldn't find my shoes! The parking guidance was unkind. Other than that, it was good.

    We stayed as a family.

The room had an open-air bath, and there was also a private open-air bath. The view from the room's open-air bath was fantastic. The food was incredibly delicious and surprising. The portions were very large and very satisfying. It was a bit disappointing that the water temperature in the private open-air bath was too hot, so I didn't stay in for long. However, the room's open-air bath allowed for water temperature adjustment, so I was very satisfied. It would have been even better if there was something like a net to scoop out insects provided in the room. The staff's hospitality was excellent, and the service was very pleasant. It was also nice to have coffee beans to grind yourself in the room. I've traveled to many places, but this is a property I definitely want to visit again!

This is a property we highly recommend.

We stayed in a room with an open-air Onsen. The facility was very user-friendly, and there were many clean baths available, including private baths, allowing us to fully enjoy the Onsen experience. The meals were also very delicious. The option to choose amenities, yukata, and pillows is attractive, but despite not checking in late, the stock was low, and there were almost no pillows left. We would appreciate it if more were available. It was also disappointing that the types of pillows were not labeled, making it difficult to know which pillow was which.

The front desk service is poor.

The front desk service was extremely poor. It seems likely that the front desk manager is incompetent. If the supervisor were capable of properly training their staff, this wouldn't happen. The level of service was unbearable and left me frustrated throughout my stay. Receiving service worse than a Business Hotel at an Onsen Accommodation was truly disappointing. (The dining staff, however, were excellent.)

It was a good hot spring.

There were various types of baths. I was able to enjoy them, but I wish the staff would pay a little more attention to customer service. When I asked where the old bath was, they just pointed and said "there"... I was taken aback. Also, at check-in, I was told that check-out is at 12, so don't be late. When I mentioned I was staying for consecutive nights, they said they would check and didn't return for a while. There wasn't even a single apology, and it felt like they were rushing me to decide whether I wanted just a towel exchange or cleaning. I went to my room feeling very disappointed. In the middle, I asked for a yukata and there wasn't a single one available. I wish they would provide it in the room as a service. The room had an indescribable smell. I was worried about whether it was ventilated. The toilet smelled, and I couldn't sleep at night... It was a disappointing trip to Kusatsu.
