    A resort facility for your stay.

    The facility was excellent, but the quality of the meals was disappointing. Even for a relaxing stay, the current meal standard may not be satisfactory.

    Unfortunately...

    Located in the innermost part of Shima, the natural environment is truly exceptional. The bath is also wonderful, though it is extremely far from the Room. However, the meals are disappointing. Most of the dishes lack a handmade feel and seem to be just taken out of a bag and placed in containers. While there may be various circumstances, it would be appreciated if the supplier could be changed or the budget slightly increased to provide better value for guests. I had a Multiple Night Stay, but on the second day, I lost my appetite!

    Traveling with our dog, we appreciated the privacy of the cottage where we could relax without worrying about occasional barking. The staff everywhere were kind and accommodating. The dinner buffet offered a wide variety of dishes, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Although the temperature of the open-air bath was a bit low, overall it was a comfortable stay at the accommodation.

    Cottage Stay

    I have stayed in Japanese-Western style rooms and cottages multiple times, and I am always very satisfied. Thank you. Last year, I also stayed in a cottage, and I've stayed in cottages several times before... This time, the room was very clean, so I don't think it was mold, but there was a strong smell of humidity or old wood, especially in the bedroom and on the second floor, which made it uncomfortable. I've never experienced this before—what could be the reason? Next time, I plan to stay in a Hotel Room instead; however, I really love the view and atmosphere from the cottage terrace. I hope this can be improved somehow. The meals, bath facilities, and customer service were as excellent as always—polite and friendly. It was great! I will visit again.

    If the cleaning was satisfactory...

    When we entered the cottage, the Room was already cool, which made us happy. However, we found leftover dog food from the previous guest on the floor. The terrace was also covered in moss, making it inaccessible. With better cleaning, this could be a very satisfying Facility.

    Delicious Meals

    It was a hot season, but we decided to go somewhere for the summer vacation and stayed here. We were delighted to find a hotel with a buffet and stargazing opportunities. Although the bath was a bit far, we were able to relax, enjoy delicious meals, and had a great time.

    What a waste!

    The view from the Room was fantastic. While the Facility being old is acceptable, it felt like there was a lack of effort in maintaining and improving overall quality. The smell of the pool, in particular, significantly dampened our travel excitement. Both the building and Room felt older than they appeared in photos, so managing expectations to avoid such gaps might be necessary. The staff's response was polite and excellent.     An Accommodation That Reflects the Spirit of Hospitality

    We stayed in a cottage with our dog during the summer vacation. Upon arrival at the Hotel, an elderly staff member warmly explained everything to us, and the front desk and other staff members provided attentive service that conveyed their hospitality. Although the Facility has an older feel, it was well-maintained, and the Room was very clean. The dining area and bath were not overly spacious but offered a calm atmosphere where we could relax and enjoy ourselves. The seafood rice bowl for dinner featured fresh fish beautifully presented, leaving us highly satisfied. At night, we had a wonderful experience observing summer constellations through one of only three giant telescopes in Japan. Thanks to the sea breeze or perhaps being surrounded by forest, there were few insects, making our stay comfortable. With a pool and many activities available in one place, we created fun summer memories here. Thank you!

    First visit.

    We stayed for one night and two days. The maisonette-style Room was unique, and the kids were thrilled! The view was fantastic, making our stay very pleasant. With two adults and two children, we were a bit concerned about the sleeping arrangements, but the sofa bed on the lower floor was surprisingly sturdy and comfortable for sleeping. The meals were served buffet-style without specific time slots. However, when we went to eat, it seemed to be during peak hours as there was a long line in front of the kitchen area. It took quite some time just to get food. Additionally, some people skipped ahead in line to grab specific items they wanted, so it felt like there wasn’t a proper system in place. As parents with small children, we would have appreciated staff guidance during this process. That said, the food itself was excellent—being near the sea meant that the fish dishes were incredibly delicious! We also enjoyed Ise Udon noodles as part of our meal. The bath area had helpful amenities for families with young children such as baby beds in the changing room and baby chairs for showers. Like our Room, it offered great views and allowed us to relax comfortably. On a side note: crabs wandered into various parts of the facility—perhaps because it's close to the sea? They were cute and brought us some smiles but could use more frequent rescue efforts! Overall, it was a wonderful trip! We’d love to stay again if given another opportunity. Thank you very much!

    We hope you enjoy your stay even more.

    Initially, I considered staying at Miyako Resort Shima Bayside Terrace despite the higher price, but I chose this accommodation because I like buffets and was intrigued by the observatory. There were some good hotel staff, but also some who were not so good. I had high expectations for the dinner buffet, but it was disappointing. 1. The pork stir-fry meat was dry (perhaps due to improper warming temperature?). 2. The quality of sashimi in the seafood bowl could be improved. 3. Regardless of steak quality, the attitude of the person cooking steaks lacked friendliness—questionable as a hotel staff member? 4. The octopus-shaped red sausages for children were dry as well. Additionally, please improve the quality of sausages served at breakfast. The breakfast buffet was enjoyable overall. The pancakes, rice, bread, and coffee served during breakfast were delicious. Regarding the room: The lid of the ice bucket was broken and its interior seemed poorly maintained. While I understand that it is an older facility, I expected a sense of prestige associated with Miyako Hotels but did not feel that here. There are many excellent hotels even with older facilities; I hope this can serve as a reference for improvement.

    The desired Hotel you wanted to visit when it first opened.

    The plan included breakfast and dinner. It was a buffet style, and both the seafood and local specialties were incredibly delicious and impressive. The customer service was excellent, but the aging of some parts of the facility, such as the bath area that haven't been renovated, was difficult to overlook despite being inevitable over time. Perhaps hiring a live-in repair person to gradually beautify the entire facility for better appearance could be an idea. I regret not staying during its peak period over 20 years ago.

    Traveling with Dogs

    This time, my parents stayed in the main building, while my family and our dog stayed in the lodge. The lodge was old, but the kids enjoyed seeing creatures near the pond and taking walks to the tidal flats. Even though our Rooms were separate, it was nice that seats were arranged so we could eat together. We also enjoyed the planetarium and karaoke. We’d love to visit again during a pleasant season.

    Summer Trip with Grandchildren and Beloved Pets

    This was our second time staying at the Pet Cottage. During our previous visit, we were deeply impressed by the amazing cuisine and the observatory. We had high expectations this time as well, but unfortunately, the cuisine did not quite meet them.

    It was a wonderful trip!

    A long-awaited family trip, and we had a great time with our beloved dog! The cottage was very clean, and we were pleasantly surprised that there was no smell of mold or animals when we entered. Although the distance from the cottage to the large public bath and dining area was a bit far, it wasn’t too much of an inconvenience. At night, we enjoyed a walk back while gazing at the starry sky. The Hotel staff were all very kind and provided excellent service, allowing us to relax and enjoy our stay. The large public bath was also very clean. Since towels need to be brought from the Room, there were times when we didn’t have enough towels available. Because of this, I rated Facility stars as 4 instead of 5. However, overall it was a highly satisfying trip! We would love to visit again. Thank you so much!

    The view is spectacular.

    The view from the room was absolutely stunning. While there were some signs of wear and tear, such as peeling wallpaper, the facility overall had a luxurious feel. The food was served buffet-style and seemed to be at a standard level. For a multiple night stay, it was helpful that the menu varied slightly each day. It would be great if there were more local seafood dishes available. Additionally, the meat was on the tougher side, so some improvement in that area would be appreciated.     I stayed here about 7 years ago on a group tour and have been wanting to stay again. The plan included breakfast and dinner, and the dinner, in particular, had a wide variety of delicious options. Last time I visited the observatory, and this time I went again as it was clear weather. It was enjoyable to listen to explanations while observing stars through the telescope. The property is spacious, so I took a walk along the promenade and enjoyed the beautiful view of Ago Bay. If I may say so, it would be great if there were more shuttle service times from Kashikojima Station.

    A lovely Hotel surrounded by greenery.

    This time, I stayed at the accommodation with my mother for the first time. For dinner, we enjoyed delicious dishes such as Ise lobster sashimi, ara miso soup, fresh seafood sashimi, and meat paired with craft beer. At night, we were able to do stargazing and had a wonderful time. I’m glad to have made good memories with my mother. Thank you to all the staff!

    This Hotel has been a frequent destination for 30 years. There was an ownership change, and the pool has been downsized. Previously, there was a private beach below the garden, but it seems to have disappeared during my walk. Meals are buffet-style. The seaweed omelet at breakfast was delicious. The noise from the Room's air conditioning was bothersome. The provided yukata had an unpleasant smell, which was surprising. During checkout, there seemed to be no send-off due to busyness, giving it more of a Business Hotel vibe.

    Surrounded by a tranquil forest, we enjoyed a relaxing stay. The view of Ago Bay from the room was stunning and a treat for the eyes. The Onsen public bath was clean and comfortable. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style, with each dish well-seasoned. We tried to sample as many dishes as possible by taking small portions of each. It was a rejuvenating experience for both body and mind, leaving us completely satisfied in every aspect.

    The hotel exceeds expectations in every aspect: scenery, dining, and hospitality. All the staff at the shuttle service, front desk, and restaurant were friendly, making for a very comfortable stay. From the room window, we could see Kashikojima on the opposite shore. Although it was mostly cloudy during our stay, the view was mystical and beautiful. The meals were excellent in both variety and quality for dinner and breakfast. The hand-pressed sushi was particularly delicious. While the building itself shows some age, thoughtful touches like flower arrangements conveyed a sense of hospitality. The room was well-maintained and clean, providing a pleasant experience. Based on reviews mentioning that slippers are not disposable, I brought my own pair just in case. I also appreciated eco-friendly efforts throughout the facility such as using water dispensers instead of plastic bottles—an admirable initiative that aligns with modern values. As someone who is not comfortable driving long distances by car, I initially hesitated to visit due to the 25-minute shuttle bus ride from Kashikojima Station. However, I found that it didn’t feel too long after all—and above all else—the breathtaking views made it absolutely worth it! It turned out to be an unforgettable trip thanks to this decision. A heartfelt thank you to all staff members for their exceptional service!

    I had a relaxing stay.

    The lodge was comfortable, the meals were delicious, and the observatory offered a beautiful view of the stars. It would have been even better if there was a place to sit and enjoy coffee at the observatory. Having more towels available would also be appreciated.

    Cottage Stay with Your Dog

    We stayed in a cottage for 2 nights and 3 days. Since we had a dog, we had breakfast on the terrace for one morning only. Although the weather was cloudy, it was neither too hot nor too cold, allowing us to enjoy a pleasant breakfast surrounded by fresh air. Meals with dogs require a reservation one day in advance, so same-day reservations are not possible. We recommend making a reservation beforehand. There are no dog run facilities in the surrounding area, so it would be even better if there were one within the hotel premises.

    The sea was not visible on the way to the Hotel, making it hard to tell where we were... However, the Room had a beautiful sea view and was very clean. I often stay at Hotels with buffet meals, and compared to those, the variety here seemed slightly limited. But since I chose an all-you-can-drink Plan this time, it was perfectly fine!

    Off-peak solo stay. Arrived via Shimakaze. 【Room & Amenities】 The room shows some signs of age, but it is well-maintained and fully functional. For sustainability, drinking water is provided through a server system where you fill your own bottle; however, the bottles are too tall to fit in the fridge, which could be improved. The view from the window has a charming appeal, but strong western sunlight can raise the room temperature quickly, making it difficult to leave curtains open all day. 【Service】 The staff provided excellent service with no unpleasant experiences at all. The only minor inconvenience was that the shop was closed during daytime hours due to low guest numbers. 【Onsen & Bath】 The Onsen facilities are modern and impeccably clean with great views, offering high satisfaction overall. Being located next to Aqua Palace makes for a perfect combination—enjoying physical activity in the pool followed by relaxation in the Onsen. The bathroom in the room also has a spacious washing area and bathtub for added comfort. 【Facility】 Aqua Palace stands out as an exceptional facility that others cannot easily match—it’s a heated pool so you can enjoy it even during off-season periods without worry. However, its daytime-only operating hours may not align well with lunch plans (as mentioned below). For those interested in astronomy, Tenmonkan is worth visiting; its guide's lighthearted explanations leave quite an impression—they might even have potential as a YouTuber! 【Dining】 The hotel meals are excellent overall—especially noteworthy is their buffet beef curry packed generously with beef chunks for high satisfaction (could it possibly be Matsusaka beef?). However—and this isn’t unique to this hotel—the lack of lunch service combined with no nearby restaurants or convenience stores within walking distance poses challenges for guests planning an "in-hotel" staycation experience. If you have access to a car it's easier; otherwise options include taking the shuttle bus to Kashikojima Station or resorting to cup noodles from vending machines (since even souvenir shops close during daytime). This issue caused some frustration. 【Overall Satisfaction】 Both service and facilities are outstanding here! While its remote location may limit outdoor activities and lunchtime options require careful planning for those staying put at the hotel—it’s best suited when your itinerary and purpose are clearly defined beforehand!

    I was healed by nature.

    There is a walking path, and I enjoyed pleasant walks in the morning and evening. The fresh air and the sound of birds made it very relaxing. The meals, however, were a bit disappointing. As part of the sea bream fair, there were 3-4 dishes available, but they all used the same sea bream sashimi slices with little variation. Other sashimi options were available but none stood out as particularly delicious. For meat dishes, there was only one option besides steak. Those who are not fond of fish might find limited choices to eat. As for fried items, there were two types of tempura (shrimp and sea lettuce), while fried foods in the kids' section seemed to be mostly frozen products. A few years ago when I visited, I remember being very satisfied with the meals; this time felt a bit underwhelming. The food seemed to reflect current economic conditions with rising prices—it’s understandable but still a little disappointing overall.

    I stayed here during my trip to Ise-Shima. Looking for a reasonably priced and clean accommodation, I decided on Aqua Forest. Although it’s a bit far from Ise and Toba, the drive along Pearl Road made it feel not too distant and was an enjoyable journey. The hotel is an impressive facility, and the approach itself builds anticipation. After dropping off companions at the entrance, parking in the underground garage was very convenient for retrieving forgotten items later. I reserved a room on the top floor with an excellent view of the ria coastline. The bath was a bit of a walk away but spacious and comfortable to use; however, there was no view from the open-air bath, which was slightly disappointing. Meals were buffet-style for both dinner and breakfast. While there weren’t any particularly luxurious dishes, freshly prepared options were available on-site, which turned out to be surprisingly satisfying. The facility overall is well-equipped with features like an observatory that kept us entertained even at night. Above all, everything was clean and pleasant to stay in. The staff's attentiveness also added to our positive experience—choosing this hotel turned out to be a great decision! Overall, it’s cost-effective accommodation offering good value for money.
