    A hidden gem

    We drove to the Accommodation by car. To be honest, we wondered if we were heading the right way, but then this hidden retreat suddenly appeared on a hilltop. First of all, the hostess and all the staff were truly kind, which made our stay wonderful. With only a few Rooms, we were able to relax at a leisurely pace. The food was carefully prepared and delicious as well. In summer, it’s perfect for swimming in the sea; in winter, for crab. It’s such a great Accommodation that you’ll want to come back again.

    Disappointing

    I stayed for one night on August 16. The room and the staff’s hospitality and service were perfect. The bath was also great. However, I may have set my expectations too high for dinner (weekday-only summer kaiseki). It was disappointing because it didn’t match the price at all. I often stay at Ryokan on the Tango Peninsula, but this was the worst dinner I’ve had.

    Three-Generation Family Trip

    Two families (six people) stayed in two Rooms. The Room was comfortable, with the living area and bedroom separated. The in-room bath included both an indoor bath and an open-air bath, which we really enjoyed. The large public bath was also great. It’s conveniently close—about a 3-minute walk to the beach. We made a Reservation because we wanted to eat white squid and rock oysters, but it was disappointing that the rock oysters were slightly cooked. The white squid was excellent—we had it as sashimi, tempura, and salt-grilled. We were satisfied with both dinner and breakfast. This is an Accommodation we would like to use again.

    Wonderful Room

    As soon as we tried to park, someone came out right away to greet us and kindly explained various things (including the proprietress, I think). It was a Ryokan with a very warm atmosphere. The Room was also wonderful—spacious, with both an indoor bath and an outdoor bath. The large public bath felt even more soothing. We chose a course featuring only fish this time, so next time I’d like to try the crab course. The nearby beach wasn’t crowded, and the water was very clear and beautiful!

    I wish I had come earlier.

    I wanted to go somewhere with an Onsen, so I made a Reservation on the morning of the day. I don’t often choose a first-time Accommodation and tend to return to the same places, so this was my first stay here. The Room was even cleaner and more spacious than it looked in the photos. The Onsen bath had wonderfully smooth water. There was also a stone sauna, and one night didn’t feel like enough. Every dish was delicious, and the sashimi was cut thick and very fresh. I couldn’t finish the final eel rice dish, which was a shame—but being able to enjoy such a large, delicious eel at the end made me truly happy. The bed was comfortable. I would have liked a slightly larger pillow; having one more pillow would have made it perfect. Across the road is a beach for swimming—shallow, clear water, and pleasantly uncrowded. If my child were still small, I’d definitely want to bring them here. Drinks were available in the front desk lounge area as well, so you can relax there too—again, one night isn’t enough to fully enjoy everything. I would definitely like to stay again. Thanks to IKYU Points, I was able to stay for a little less, which made it even better.

    It’s such a shame.

    First of all, thank you to the proprietress for being so kind and friendly, and for speaking warmly to our children. The meals were also very generous in portion and delicious. Because it was such a nice Accommodation overall, I would like to mention a few points I hope can be improved. We stayed in a Room with an open-air bath, but the washbasin area, toilet, and changing area were all combined without any doors or partitions. The toilet smell was overwhelmingly strong. It felt like an ammonia-like odor had soaked in and filled the entire space. Since I’m very sensitive to smells, I couldn’t even enter that area and ended up unable to use the in-room bath. The toilet on the bedroom side was very clean and had no odor at all, so we did everything there—washing our faces, brushing our teeth, and using the toilet. Since we couldn’t use the in-room bath, we went to the large public bath instead. However, the moment we opened the door, there was an intense musty rag-like smell coming from the changing room. In general, odors around wet areas were quite severe. Also regarding meal service: both dinner and breakfast were served by foreign staff members. Dinner service was fine, but at breakfast time the staff member entered our Room suddenly without pressing the intercom—only knocking—and came in even though we hadn’t responded. This really startled us. My husband said he ran into them right after bathing while he was completely naked; since it was a female staff member, he felt uncomfortable about it. The nearby beach is beautiful, and we would like to visit again during swimming season. However, room odors are one of my most important factors when choosing an Accommodation (among my top priorities), so I sincerely hope this will be improved.

    You can truly relax here.

    Above all, the hostess is truly soothing. Just seeing her face makes us feel at ease. The Room—especially the bath—is great, and the water temperature is perfect. The hospitality is pleasantly attentive as well. The food is delicious, but it was a bit too much for us. However, they kindly made rice balls for us, and we ended up eating them later that night. This is the best Ryokan for us, and we will come again in winter to enjoy crab.

    Let your everyday fatigue melt away.

    Both the indoor bath and open-air bath are free-flowing Onsen—so refreshing! All our fatigue melted away, and even my 94-year-old mother was able to relax. The meals were delicious and we were completely full. They even made rice balls from the mixed rice, and we happily finished them as a late-night snack. This mixed rice was truly so, so tasty! Because my mother is elderly, having meals served in the Room was a huge help. The staff member in charge was very pleasant, and the Room was spacious—we felt completely refreshed.

    We are a travel-lovi...

    We are a travel-loving couple in our 60s, and we stayed in the Shaka Room. It was spacious enough for two, and since it had been renovated, it was very clean and comfortable. Soaking in the open-air bath while looking out at the garden was pure bliss. The Room’s indoor bath, open-air bath, and the large public bath are all free-flowing Onsen from the source. We loved the greenish cloudy water, though some guests may be concerned by small natural particles that are characteristic of natural Onsen water. We also appreciated having a hot stone sauna chair in the Room and a ReFa hair dryer. The dining area was private; Matsuba crab season had ended, but we were able to enjoy Kasumi crab, which was delicious. Even though it takes about 35 minutes by car from Toyooka Station to the Accommodation, we were very grateful for the Shuttle Service. This has become an Accommodation we have definitely decided to revisit.

    Room with a private open-air hot spring bath (free-flowing)

    I was attracted by the in-room open-air bath with free-flowing natural hot spring water, but unfortunately my parent with mobility issues couldn’t use it because there were no handrails on the tub. Also, since the toilet connects directly to the bathtub and open-air bath area, it was inconvenient that the toilet couldn’t be used while someone was bathing. The food and hospitality were perfect.

    Highly Satisfying Accommodation

    The Room was clean and spacious, and we were able to relax. All of the food was delicious, and we were very satisfied. The Diamond member perk souvenir was also nice.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    I arrived before check-in time, and thank you for kindly accommodating me. The Room had a cypress indoor bath with an outside view and an open-air bath, both of which I was able to use late at night. Also, each Room is in a separate building, so I never heard other guests during my stay and was able to enjoy a truly relaxing getaway. I would love to stay again if I have the opportunity.

    Once again, it was a wonderfully relaxing trip that we were completely satisfied with!

    We come back every year during crab season, and we’re always welcomed by the same fresh, delicious, generously portioned meals and the kind proprietress! One small disappointment was that I didn’t like the crab vinegar for the boiled crab at dinner because it contained crab broth. I wish there had been an option to choose a more standard, plain crab vinegar as well. We’d love to visit again next year!

    Savor the last crab dishes of the year to the fullest.

    In late March, we were able to enjoy the last crab dishes of the season, and everything was absolutely delicious. Even though we booked the “Weekday Value Plan,” the lavish cuisine was not only crab—every dish was excellent. The couple traveling with us said they had eaten crab many times this year, but commented that “the crab dishes at this Accommodation were the best of the season.” Before dinner, we were able to enjoy wine while looking out at the sea from a relaxing space in the lobby, and we also had pleasant conversations with other guests. Having both an open-air bath and an indoor bath in our Room—and being able to use them whenever we liked—was especially appreciated. The large public bath was also not crowded, so we could relax comfortably.

    Everything was delicious, and we were very satisfied.

    I made a Reservation for the crab course, but there was so much I couldn’t finish it all… You kindly packed one crab for me to take home as a souvenir on my way back. Not only the crab dinner, but also breakfast was absolutely delicious. (I’m sorry I left some because I was too full.) Even the small details—like the dashi broth and the shredded daikon garnish for the sashimi—were prepared with such care and tasted wonderful. The Room was spacious, and the garden, indoor bath, and open-air bath were all very relaxing. You also provided loungewear such as yukata, a bathrobe, pajamas, tabi socks, and sandals. There were towels both for the public bath and for use in the Room—I was genuinely impressed! The coffee in the Room was also excellent. In the lobby, not only coffee but also juice and wine were available to drink freely—it truly felt like you had thought of everything. Because of our work schedules, my husband and I have been living apart for a year. Staying at this Ryokan—one I had wanted to visit for so long—allowed us to relax together again after quite some time, making it a very memorable trip. We even said we’d like to come again and stay in a different Room next time, so we will definitely visit again. I won’t forget the proprietress’s wonderful smile. Thank you very much. And we finished all of the crab you packed for us as soon as we got home!

    Second stay

    The Onsen and the food were both excellent, and we were very satisfied. We definitely plan to visit again next year. If we had to make one suggestion, having a massage chair would be helpful.

    All-You-Can-Eat Crab Feast

    Everything was simply delicious. The crab sashimi was sweet, the grilled crab was perfect dipped in crab miso, and we thoroughly enjoyed the full crab feast all the way through to the crab hot pot and rice porridge. We had the steamed crab packed to take home as a souvenir. The sashimi and abalone with butter were also outstanding. However, the dishes kept coming one after another and were cleared away just as quickly, which made it feel a bit rushed. That was disappointing, especially since the staff outside the dining area were very courteous.

    Excellent!

    2.5 servings of crab was unbelievable! I was so satisfied that I felt like I wouldn’t need crab for a while. The Accommodation was also excellent! We stayed during heavy snowfall, but with underfloor heating, we were warm and comfortable the whole time. We’re already thinking about coming again next year—definitely a repeat stay!

    The Room was great.

    The Room and the food were excellent. There was more than we could finish, and we were very satisfied. The bath in the Room and the location were also outstanding. One downside was that the tables in the dining area were too high, which made it uncomfortable. The bed mattress had firm springs and wasn’t very comfortable. The sauna temperature was low, so it took a long time to start sweating. I hope these points can be improved a bit.

    I was able to spend my special day at ease.

    We chose this place because it has a limited number of rooms, perfect for spending a relaxing time on our special anniversary. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed as they waited for us at the parking lot. The room was spacious with both an open-air bath and an indoor bath, allowing us to relax fully. Meals were served in the room, so we could enjoy dining at our own pace, which was great. The portions exceeded our expectations, and we thoroughly enjoyed the crab! However, it was slightly disappointing that the staff serving the meals were foreign and sometimes had difficulty understanding us. They tried their best, so it wasn’t a major issue, but having to repeat ourselves multiple times was a bit inconvenient. Overall, we had a satisfying and enjoyable stay. Thank you very much!

    Stayed at "Miroku no...

    Stayed at "Miroku no Ma" on December 10th for one night. The accommodation was very quiet with no outside noise, allowing us to relax both in the room's open-air bath and inside the room. We thoroughly enjoyed the crab kaiseki meal. The staff were all wonderful, making our stay very pleasant, and we appreciated the approachable personality of the hostess. This has become one of the accommodations we would like to visit again in a different season. Special thanks to the head chef as well!

    Thank you for your stay. We chose this Ryokan based on good reviews, but unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations. The description mentioned a garden, so we expected a typical garden; however, it was more like utilizing the mountain area and didn’t feel like a proper garden. The room was beautifully unified in white, but with plain white walls and no decorations or paintings, it felt somewhat like a hospital. Of course, impressions may vary from person to person. Having stayed at many other Ryokans around the same price of 50,000 yen, the cuisine here felt average considering the cost.

    Scenic accommodation with onsen baths in every room

    The private bath in the room at Kinosaki Onsen is not sourced from the Onsen due to environmental considerations, so we decided to explore further. This cozy Ryokan is located near a picturesque coastline. Our room was a standalone building, offering great privacy. First and foremost, the bath in our room was exceptional. Both the indoor and open-air baths were fed directly from a natural hot spring and available for use all day long. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, perfect for relaxation. I found myself wishing to stay for a Multiple Night Stay someday to fully unwind. The service struck a perfect balance between attentiveness and privacy. Although we chose the standard Plan for meals, both their quality and quantity exceeded expectations. I would love to visit again!

    Spend peacefully

    Room with an indoor bath and open-air bath. The sea view is not very prominent. The water temperature was just right. The sofa in the garden was quite dirty, so it might be better to check it before guests arrive. Both dinner and breakfast were plentiful in volume and variety, leaving us very full. Although I should have mentioned it at the time, the red miso soup served during dinner was unbelievably thick and undrinkable. However, the blended miso soup served at breakfast had a perfect taste, so perhaps there was a mistake in preparation or seasoning; tasting before serving would be recommended. Service was polite, and the hostess's smile was very comforting—thank you! Since there is nothing much around, this accommodation seems ideal for couples or married pairs who want to spend a truly relaxing time together.

    The service was excellent!

    We stayed in a special Room with the Red Snow Crab course. The hot spring was sourced directly from the spring, but the amount of water flowing into the bath was relatively small. However, as it was a cypress bath with a pleasant aroma, we were satisfied. The crab included rare sashimi for Red Snow Crab and was delicious, though we honestly wished there had been a bit more quantity. Breakfast was satisfying overall. While it seemed to focus on local ingredients, providing more details about their origins during breakfast would enhance satisfaction further. The Room amenities like TV and hairdryer were appropriate for the price range, but having even better Facilities would increase satisfaction further. I forgot something at the Facility, but I was very pleased with how well the staff handled it. I look forward to visiting again!

    It was very relaxing.

    I have recently visited various Ryokans, and I had a very pleasant stay here. Thank you very much. I heard that this is the only Ryokan still operating in Kamai Onsen. The high transparency of Kumihama and the extraordinary atmosphere where even the sound of cars cannot be heard were truly wonderful. I would like to visit again in winter next time.

    Birthday gift

    Stayed at the accommodation for my wife's birthday. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. The room had a private hot spring bath, which was amazing. However, both of us smoke, and it was a bit disappointing that there wasn't a smoking area. Still, my wife seemed very satisfied, so I’m glad. We would love to visit again!

    A hospitality-filled accommodation.

    The service was excellent. I was very satisfied with the email communication, phone support, and assistance on the day. The Room was renovated and comfortable. I enjoyed fresh seafood, which was very delicious. Additionally, you arranged fireworks for us, allowing us to have a wonderful time. I would like to visit again during crab season next time.
