    Had a comfortable stay.

    Both dinner and breakfast were delicious and very satisfying. We stayed with our 2-year-old grandchild, and the staff were incredibly kind, making our stay very comfortable. We would love to visit again if we have the chance.

    Delicious Meals

    We enjoyed a delicious dinner. It was a stay for our wedding anniversary with our daughter, and we were delighted to receive red rice as a kind gesture, making it a wonderful and memorable trip. Thank you very much. The Onsen quality was excellent with a silky texture, and the private Onsen bath in the room was more than sufficient.

    Accommodation with Delicious Cuisine

    I keep coming back to this accommodation. Everything is clean and well-maintained. The staff are professional and provide heartfelt service, making the stay very pleasant. While meals at accommodations around Lake Biwa are generally delicious, this one stands out as exceptionally tasty, especially the meat, which is the best I've ever had. The breakfast features high-quality ingredients, and I even enjoy egg over rice here—something I usually don't eat. Of course, it's delicious. The room with a bed is comfortable and relaxing, which I really like. There's a coffee vending machine available, so no issues there. It's also budget-friendly for someone like me who stays at different accommodations every month. This is an amazing accommodation that makes you want to visit again and again!

    A Satisfying Hotel

    The Onsen, meals, hospitality, and service were excellent, allowing us to enjoy a comfortable time with our family. However, it was disappointing that the room's refrigerator was just a cooler box, and we were slightly concerned about the tatami being a bit uneven.

    Omi beef steak is de...

    Omi beef steak is delicious and available as an additional option for an extra charge. Other dishes are well-presented but lack uniqueness, with all flavors tasting similar. Each table has a dedicated staff member, but their behavior, such as quickly clearing plates while still eating, was surprising. The ponzu and sesame sauce for the shabu-shabu did not suit my taste, and the sesame sauce did not pair well with the meat. For breakfast, only one staff member was preparing everything like rice, miso soup, and tea. It took a long time to arrive without any explanation. When freshly cooked rice in a pot finally arrived, everyone rushed to get some out of concern it might run out. After managing to get some rice and sitting down at my seat, they brought more from a rice cooker—leaving me confused about their service system! Other guests were also left unattended; when asking about rice availability, male staff ignored them and walked away angrily leaving customers frustrated at their tables.

    Accommodation with a Sense of Hospitality

    A great accommodation that I would want to use again even for a Kyoto trip. The kaiseki meals were exquisite, utilizing local ingredients to their fullest with meticulous and delicate preparation. Even during a multiple night stay, the meals remained enjoyable without becoming repetitive. The thoughtful gesture of turning leftover sea bream rice into onigiri and delivering it as a late-night snack was much appreciated. The onsen is circulated and disinfected but uses no added water, with chlorine levels low enough not to be bothersome. It features an alkaline simple spring that seems beneficial for the skin. Towels are provided in the bathing area, so there's no need to bring your own. The shuttle service is very convenient as it operates flexibly rather than at fixed times. It covers not only Ogoto Onsen Station but also JR Sakamoto Station, Keihan Sakamoto Station, and even the cable car station for Enryakuji Temple—making it easy to explore various places without worry. All staff members were pleasant and welcoming; this level of hospitality is rare in accommodations within this price range nowadays. With Kyoto Station just 20 minutes away, it's highly recommended. Our room was on the second floor with a roof view under certain conditions but still offered sufficient views of cherry blossoms and Lake Biwa.

    We stayed during our children's spring break. The room was simple but clean and comfortable. The view of Lake Biwa from the room was beautiful. The staff provided polite and excellent service. However, the dressing area in the large public bath was clean earlier in the day, but when we used it late at night, there was a lot of hair on the floor, which was disappointing... It might be nice to have some light cleaning done in the dressing area during bathing hours. Overall, it was a very enjoyable trip. Thank you!

    At the end of the year, I saw it in a magazine and decided to visit Lake Biwa. At first, it was fully booked, but I was able to make a Reservation a week later. I was surprised as it was my first time staying at a Ryokan with so many staff members. There were many rare dishes I had never tried before. The quality of the Onsen was excellent. Thank you for everything. I truly appreciate your hospitality.

    From the moment we arrived, we were courteously guided and the welcome drink, yuzu tea, was incredibly delicious. I visited with a friend and we had an enjoyable and comfortable stay until the end. All of the staff were wonderful.

    The view is excellent.

    I often visit the area, but this is my first time at this Hotel. I had made a reservation for moon viewing during the full moon, but due to bad weather, I had it moved up by a day. Even so, the eastern sky was shrouded in clouds, and I couldn't see the moon rising over Lake Biwa this time either. However, the view from the slightly elevated location was not obstructed by the silhouette of the Grand Hotel, and it even served as an accent to Lake Biwa spreading above it, making me realize it was one of the best views in the area. The night view of moonlight through the clouds from the bath in our room was nice, and the sunrise the next morning was also superb. The cuisine might have been from the "Goku" lineup, but it lacked something "super" or distinctive, and to be honest, I had to say it was rather ordinary.

    The once-a-year birt...

    The once-a-year birthday trip turned into the worst memory. I thought it was a property where I could stay with a baby without worry, but I didn't expect to be told we were noisy even though the baby wasn't being disruptive. There was no baby food, the yukata was charged, the room had no safety measures for children, and I couldn't understand the purpose of the facility usage fee (2,200 yen) for a 0-year-old.

    The warabi mochi milk tea in the lounge is delicious!

    Since I stayed in a special room, the room's spaciousness, the semi-open-air bath, and the view of Lake Biwa were all impeccable. It would have been even more satisfying if there had been a walk-in closet with a full-length mirror to open the suitcase... We thoroughly enjoyed the Omi beef kaiseki in terms of both taste and quantity, but the explanation of the dishes was vague, requiring us to check the menu each time. As for breakfast, there was no menu, so we had to look, eat, and guess, which seemed a waste for such delicious food. However, the staff were pleasant, and it was an enjoyable stay.

    Highly recommended. I was able to relax.

    We visited in the snow. Since we arrived early, it was nice to be shown to our room ahead of time when we checked in. The bath was available from 3 PM, and when we went to the large public bath, it was like having it all to ourselves. It was clean, and we could relax. Both towels and bath towels were sufficiently replenished for use there. The bath was satisfying. Dinner was delicious. We used the private room for a birthday celebration by adding 2,200 yen, but the child's voice next door was loud, which was disappointing as we had gone to the trouble of getting a private room. The alcohol seemed a bit expensive. The cost performance is good, but I would like some improvements in how the alcohol is made. We were undecided about the room but chose a Japanese-style room. Since it wasn't separated from the bedroom, it was spacious, and we could see Lake Biwa, which was nice. We were torn between this and a lakeside ryokan, but this was the right choice. Breakfast was very delicious, both the rice and the side dishes. It was more satisfying than dinner. The price of morning coffee was high, so I wondered if it was that delicious, but I refrained as I didn't want to regret it and lower my evaluation. While many places offer it freely, charging about 800 yen is a bit much for guests staying. It was better than the price. I would like to visit again if I have the opportunity.

    The food is delicious!

    Stayed on 1/23. Used this Property three times in the past year. Reasonable price and delicious meals. The Room location was disappointing as it was near the edge (despite making the Reservation three months ago). The view from the Room was mostly trees, so I kept the curtains closed. However, dinner was delicious. The meat was especially excellent. The dessert was also tasty (the mandarin orange was incredibly sweet). Considering staying at my usual spot in front of Lake Biwa next time. The view there is also a treat.

    There is no refrigerator.

    I stayed in a Japanese-Western style Room. The Room had a cooler, but it seems it does not have the ability to chill. Even if you put room-temperature drinks inside, they will not become cold. Therefore, I had to ask the front desk to store my drinks in their refrigerator, but whenever my child wanted a cold drink, I had to go to the front desk to retrieve it. The Room was dry, so we often felt thirsty. I have stayed at many Properties before, but this was the first time I encountered a Property without a refrigerator. The meals included two main dishes: grilled Omi beef and sukiyaki, which were both excellent. Breakfast was also delicious. The lack of a refrigerator was the only disappointment.

    Mysterious Air Conditioning

    When we entered the Room, the air conditioning in the bedroom was already running, even though it was December. We noticed it immediately and turned it off, thinking the issue was resolved. We do not use heating while sleeping as a precaution against colds. Therefore, we did not touch the bedroom remote control again. However, around 5 a.m., we were awakened by a mysterious noise and cold air blowing from above. Could it be the air conditioning? We checked the remote control, but there was no operation display. Then what was this cold air and noise? Both my mother and I were extremely confused and wandered around the Room trying to figure it out. Eventually, pressing the operation button on the remote control twice stopped it. Why did the air conditioner start operating on its own, and why in cooling mode? Despite relaxing our bodies in the Onsen, we ended up suffering from lack of sleep, and I felt sorry for my parent. This is not a Property I would want to revisit. However, watching the sunrise from the Room was incredibly beautiful and remains a good memory. The staff were kind and helpful.

    The Omi beef was delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed the dinner overall. We also had a hearty breakfast. Not only the Japanese staff but also the foreign staff were kind.

    I searched for an on...

    I searched for an onsen Stays around Lake Biwa and chose this one. We went by car, but we missed the well-displayed sign and ended up entering a narrow residential area on the next road... Following the signs is important! Although we arrived late, we were warmly welcomed, and the check-in was straightforward. The bath had a night and morning rotation system, and both were good bathing areas. However, there was no view from the bath. I thought it might be due to the location. As for the meals, every dish was creatively prepared, with light seasoning, which I really liked. The matsutake mushrooms for dinner and the yudofu for breakfast were delicious. They used local ingredients, which gave a sense of being in Lake Biwa. The staff were all pleasant, easy to talk to, and made us feel comfortable. I would like to visit again on another occasion. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

    The perfect Stays for recovering from the fatigue of temple visits.

    We were both very tired from visiting mountain temples such as Hieizan Enryakuji, Miidera, and Ishiyamadera, but the delicious food and Onsen greatly relieved our fatigue. The kaiseki dinner, in particular, was not only delicious but also visually stunning and wonderful. Additionally, it is worth mentioning that the room was impeccably clean, allowing us to stay with peace of mind.

    Family Trip Across Four Generations

    We stayed with my parents, daughter, and 14-month-old grandchild to celebrate my mother's 90th birthday. Both of my parents have difficulty walking, so we had many requirements such as a room with an onsen open-air bath, bed height, and the distance from the bedroom to the toilet. After exchanging emails several times, we were shown the actual guest room and were able to borrow a shower chair, bathtub stand, and high chair. The view of Lake Biwa from the room was wonderful, and the guest room's open-air bath was a flowing onsen, allowing us to relax at our leisure. In the private dining room, we enjoyed seasonal dishes such as sweetfish and even received celebratory items like a purple vest, which made my parents very happy. The property is also baby-friendly, offering the option to borrow picture books and toys for the room, which kept the grandchild content and made my daughter happy. The picture books and displays available were tasteful. If I had to point out any concerns, it would be that it would have been better if there were chairs in the washroom and dressing room, and that there was a slight delay between dishes, possibly because the hotel was fully booked despite it being a weekday. Overall, it was a very comfortable hotel, and I'm glad we chose this hotel. All the staff were kind and not overly formal, and we appreciated the various considerations from the pre-visit. I would definitely recommend this hotel for family trips with elderly or small children.
