    The whole family will be delighted!

    We arrived at the Hotel at 6 PM after participating in the Jomon Cedar trekking tour. It was such a nice Hotel that I wished we could have checked in around 3 PM to relax. We stayed as a family of four, and everything—guest room, meals, and bath—was excellent. Everyone was very satisfied. The dinner buffet was especially delightful, with delicious roast beef and oysters. The all-you-can-drink alcohol menu allowed us to enjoy plenty of refills at a reasonable price. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much!

    The Onsen was amazing.

    The hot spring, ranked as the second-best in Japan for beautiful skin, was truly amazing as expected. The service was excellent, and the staff were very attentive, making me want to visit this Hotel again. I was pleasantly surprised to find such a wonderful Hotel in Yakushima.

    The buffet quality is excellent.

    Stayed for 2 nights for the Jomon Sugi trekking. Since we left at 4 AM without breakfast, they kindly prepared a packed meal for both breakfast and lunch. The buffet meals for breakfast and dinner were absolutely delicious and impressive. The staff were incredibly friendly, making it a wonderful stay.

    The rice and hot water are exceptional!

    Both the breakfast and dinner buffets were delicious, exceeding my expectations. The freshly prepared steak, shabu-shabu, and pizza made to order were exceptional, and the authentic desserts with real vanilla beans offered a wide variety and great taste. The selection and quality of dishes were outstanding. The Onsen had a rich texture, truly deserving its reputation as the second-best beauty-enhancing hot spring in the whole country. I would love to visit again!

    The meals were delicious.

    I stayed for three nights. The breakfast and dinner menus were different every day, and everything was delicious, especially the sushi and chicken rice. The bento box prepared for visiting Shiratani Unsuikyo was well-suited for trekking. The room was spacious and comfortable. I gave four stars because, for a Multiple Night Stay, I wished there had been more space to store luggage. The Onsen had perfectly warm water and was very pleasant. The staff's greetings and service were also very welcoming. Yakushima itself is a fascinating place, and I would love to visit again using Samana Hotel!

    This Hotel made my Y...

    This Hotel made my Yakushima memories truly special. The breakfast and dinner featured plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits, with warm dishes prepared and served at the live kitchen, making me want to order more and more. The staff also kindly interacted with us during meals, creating a warm atmosphere. They promptly cleared our plates, ensuring a stress-free dining experience! The Onsen I was most looking forward to was an alkaline Onsen with a silky texture, and the water temperature was perfect for me—I enjoyed it multiple times. I'm glad I chose a room with its own bath; in addition, I fully enjoyed the large public bath and open-air bath as well. With views of both mountains and the vast ocean, this Hotel made me want to visit Yakushima again—and stay here next time too!

    I want to stay at this Hotel again next time.

    In mid-May, my wife and I visited Yakushima for the first time. We rented a car and explored Shiratani Unsuikyo, Yakusugi Land, several waterfalls, and drove around the island. The hotel is located in the southernmost part of the island, offering an excellent location. We chose a 2-night, 3-day plan with dinner and breakfast included. Here are our impressions in order of what we liked most: ① Meals: All meals were buffet-style with a live kitchen where several dishes were freshly prepared on-site and brought to your table. The pasta, pizza, risotto, sautéed dishes, teppanyaki options—all were incredibly delicious. Breakfast included items like omelets and rice balls as well. Once I had sautéed white fish with shrimp miso sauce; since I have an allergy to shrimp miso, I informed them about it. The chef kindly replaced it with a mushroom-based sauce instead—such thoughtful service! It was prepared by a young male chef with a strong build—thank you so much for your kindness at that time! ② Onsen: The water felt smooth on the skin and left it feeling soft—it was wonderful! From the open-air bath (located northwest of the hotel), you can enjoy views of the ocean. ③ Room: Spacious and clean with two beds and a sofa—a very relaxing atmosphere overall. ④ Hotel Staff & Hospitality: This isn’t ranked fourth but rather reflects an overall impression—the staff gave off a customer-first attitude throughout our stay. As for other guests during this visit’s timing—most seemed to be older adults or couples like us in their 50s; there were also groups of women travelers or pairs of women friends occasionally seen alongside solo female or male travelers in their 30s or so—but no small children around this time period nor many international visitors (about 90% appeared Japanese). The open-air bath is available for non-staying day-use guests until around 8 PM; if you go during early evening hours when it's still open to them too—it can get quite crowded at times. If we visit Yakushima again someday—we’d love staying here once more! There aren’t many accommodations that make us want repeats—but this hotel truly stands out as exceptional!

    The Best Hotel

    It was a wonderful Hotel that made me feel it was worth coming all the way to Yakushima! The silky Onsen soothed my tiredness from hiking, and above all, the staff's hospitality was exceptional. I would love to visit again, though it's not an easily accessible place—which might actually add to its charm...

    It has become brighter.

    This was my first visit since the management changed from JR Hotel. The location and Onsen were as excellent as before. The room has become more user-friendly due to renovations, and the meals were delightful. The staff are friendly, creating a brighter atmosphere.

    A very kind and excellent Hotel.

    I had such a wonderful stay over New Year’s that I chose this place again. All the staff are very kind. The meals are carefully prepared with local ingredients and are delicious. The Onsen water is also excellent. The view from the Room was simply amazing. I was moved to see whales several times from the Hotel. Getting around was convenient, as I could take a local bus right from the Hotel entrance. This is a Hotel with impeccable service, so I highly recommend it. I’ll be back again during whale season to see them. Thank you very much.

    Ranked 2nd in the whole country for breathtaking views and skin-beautifying hot springs.

    Stayed here for the second night after leaving Sankara. As shown in the photos, the hotel offers a stunning 360-degree view. The highlight was definitely the hot water! Just as mentioned in reviews, it was incredibly smooth and left a lasting impression. The staff were all genuinely friendly and welcoming, and both the dinner and breakfast buffet were of high quality, leaving us very satisfied. The room was new, extremely clean, equipped with everything we needed, and very comfortable to stay in. We were blessed with great weather and could fully enjoy both sunset and sunrise, making our Yakushima trip truly unforgettable. Thank you so much! We will definitely visit again.

    Wonderful Hotel

    The Hotel offers stunning views; from the terrace, you can see the vast ocean, and from the entrance, you can admire Mount Mocchomu. You can enjoy both sea and mountain scenery. Yakushima Onsen is known for its silky smooth waters that are great for your skin. The Room comes with an Onsen, allowing you to indulge in a luxurious time soaking while gazing at the ocean whenever you like. The restaurant serves buffet-style meals for both breakfast and dinner, featuring dishes made with local ingredients. Dinner changes almost entirely from the previous day and includes a live kitchen for an enhanced experience. At breakfast's live kitchen, freshly prepared egg dishes and rice balls are available. The staff is full of hospitality; they greet guests warmly and naturally engage in conversation with them. There is a bus stop conveniently located right in front of the Hotel entrance.

    I was very satisfied.

    High-quality service and meals. I enjoyed relaxing in the alkaline Onsen. The Room's furnishings were simple yet tasteful, and the natural material bags for carrying items to the Onsen and indoor slippers added a relaxing touch. The drip coffee was also a stylish detail. The meals were subtle but carefully prepared, with no unnecessary dishes just to increase variety. Each dish was of high quality and thoughtfully made, especially the various side dishes which were impressive—like carrot râpé with cranberries and Earl Grey tea leaves. The 10 types of baked goods served at dinner were also exceptional. The lounge featured various books related to Yakushima, as well as a ping-pong table where I saw some guests playing at night—after all, ping-pong is synonymous with Onsen! I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Yakushima!

    It was a very good Hotel.

    On my first trip to Yakushima, I wasn’t sure where to stay, so I chose this Hotel based on Reviews. Even though it was New Year’s and seemed busy, all the staff were kind, and choosing this Hotel was absolutely the right decision. Dinner featured plenty of local ingredients and was prepared with great care. I had osechi cuisine in ANA Premium Class on the flight and thought I wouldn’t be hungry, but it was so delicious that I ended up eating too much. Of course, breakfast was also excellent with no compromises. My daughter wasn’t hungry at breakfast time—she could barely eat anything. The Room is simple, but the view was great. My daughter was thrilled to see whales from the Room. The Onsen water was also wonderful. They even saw us off with the same level of care you’d expect at a luxury Hotel. A Hotel with staff who can provide such wonderful service is truly reassuring. Since I didn’t get to see any whales myself, I immediately made another Reservation. Thank you very much.

    It was better than I imagined.

    Although it was only a one-night stay, the room, meals, bath, and service were all wonderful. The hotel had a generally compact impression compared to the photos, but the room was spacious and taking off shoes made it very relaxing. Meals were buffet style for both breakfast and dinner, and everything was delicious; I wished I could have stayed for about three nights to fully enjoy it. The Onsen was silky smooth and being able to soak while gazing at the sea was great. It would have been even better if there was a sauna. It might be inconvenient without a rental car, but we were quite satisfied using the bus. We definitely want to visit again.

    A place you want to visit again and again, Hotel

    This is my second time, and it's a relaxing Hotel with great scenery. You can leisurely observe creatures on the terrace, and the food was good. The staff were attentive, and I'm glad I came again. I would like to stay here again; it was an enjoyable trip.

    I was very satisfied!

    We stayed for two nights, one in a room with an Onsen and one without. Both rooms, as well as the sister hotel Sankara, had their own unique charm, making it difficult to compare them. However, they were very appealing to us as we were there for hiking. This time Yakushima had unusually heavy snow, but we could walk from the hotel to the Janokuchi Waterfall hiking course and enjoyed Onsen and table tennis while forgetting about time. As we've grown older and find bothersome things tedious, the buffet-style meals suited us well; we enjoyed everything including delicious pizza and shabu-shabu at the live kitchen. Above all else, all of the staff members were extremely kind thanks to the manager's leadership; especially K-san in dining made our meal times enjoyable—we look forward to meeting again next time. We plan on visiting Mount Mocchomu (Motchomu-dake) which we couldn't climb due to snow this time around so please continue your hospitality then too! The reason for one less star is that while standard rooms are fine by themselves it would be nice if there were some sweets provided with tea in rooms with an Onsen attached—but I must say that compared even against Sankara’s model ReFa hairdryer was newer or better somehow!

    It became the best memory.

    I was looking forward to visiting Yakushima after a long time, and I had a really enjoyable stay with the new staff. First of all, the view from the room is spectacular. I highly recommend staying in the Onsen suite. The wonderful view and comfortable sofa. The Onsen you can enter anytime (it was amazing!). The moment you wake up, the sea is right in front of you, and it's breathtaking!! I've been to Yakushima many times, and I love Ono no Ma as well. The moment you step out from the front of the hotel, you can see the magnificent scenery, which is the most delightful thing. And the food is truly beyond imagination in taste!! It's fun!! Each dish is carefully prepared, and such a delicious buffet is extremely precious! I'm so happy to have found another hotel I love. It's a hotel I want to visit again and again. It's simply the best!! By the way, if I could make a wish, having a sauna would make it even more perfect!!

    I'm glad I chose this Hotel.

    It was my first time in Yakushima. I was unsure which hotel to choose. However, I'm glad I chose this one. The quality of the Onsen was good and made my skin smooth. The buffet meals were also plentiful. I stayed for one night, but next time I would like to stay for two nights.

    The Best Stay

    It was my first time visiting Yakushima, and I stayed at this Hotel. The staff were full of hospitality, and it was truly soothing. The Hotel was very stylish, with beautiful houseplants and Yakusugi cedar furniture—an inviting space where I wanted to stay forever. The buffet featured many dishes made with local ingredients, and you could really feel the care put into each one. The Onsen water also had a unique quality—silky and slightly thick—and it left my skin feeling wonderfully soft. One disappointing point was that I stayed in an ocean-side Room, but from late night to early morning the sound of wind and rain was quite loud, echoing with a roaring noise that made it hard to sleep. With better soundproofing, I think I could have slept soundly without worrying about the storm outside. Still, it was a lovely ocean-view Room with an amazing view—clean, spotless, and stylish. It’s a Hotel I would definitely like to stay at again.

    It was delicious!

    I was able to relax.

    I visited in the first half of November. Yakushima is said to have rain most of the year, but fortunately, half of my trip was blessed with sunny weather. Within a day, the weather rapidly alternates between sunny and rainy depending on the time and location while driving. Therefore, it is impossible to categorize days as typically sunny on the first day and rainy on the second day. The Room on the first night was on the mountain side, but even from the mountain side, you can see the sea. The second night was an ocean view on the sea side, and since the sea viewed from the Hotel faces west, you can leisurely watch the sunset. If you wake up early in the morning, you can see a magnificent sunrise from the mountain side. The Room is very clean and comfortable. Meals are buffet style for both breakfast and dinner, and all the ingredients are excellent, delicious, and visually appealing. The replenishment is impressive, so there is no need to worry about "this is about to run out" or "I missed that," allowing you to enjoy a relaxed buffet time without rushing. Replenishment is done perfectly until the end of the time slot. It is recommended to spend a leisurely dinner time while drinking for three hours. Overeating is inevitable, so high self-control is necessary, haha. Being able to enjoy all the varieties until the very end is impressive, and such remarkable replenishment would not be possible without the high skills of the Hotel staff. It was impressive. The bath is alkaline, making your skin feel rejuvenated, and since Yakushima has good water, your hair becomes smooth even without hair oil. You can go outside from the lounge floor, and the view is spectacular. The consideration for guests who go trekking is also wonderful, with laundry, dryers, and shoe dryers fully equipped. Additionally, the morning buffet can be changed to a trekking lunch box (amazingly, for both breakfast and lunch). The lunch box is outsourced, but it was also very delicious! It was a wonderful Hotel with excellent services unique to Yakushima. I felt like revisiting when I visit Yakushima again. Thank you very much.

    The view is great, the Facility is clean, and the staff is friendly.

    Reserved as a base for trekking to Jomon Sugi and Shiratani Unsuikyo. The facility is very clean and stylish. There is an onsen, and thanks to being able to soak in it every day, I hardly had any muscle pain. The room has a shoe dryer, there is a coin laundry in front of the large public bath, and a free large dryer (where you can hang and dry shoes, small items, and wear), all of which are appreciated by trekkers. There is also an A-Coop nearby, so shopping was not a problem. The staff were very kind, and when the Jomon Sugi trek was canceled, they invited us to the breakfast buffet with only the pre-transfer bento fee, which was very encouraging in our disappointment. If I have another opportunity to visit Yakushima, I would appreciate your hospitality again.

    It was the best stay ever!!

    I visited with my parents for a 3-night, 4-day stay. It was a very beautiful hotel, and the staff were all very considerate, so we had a comfortable stay every day. The room was thoroughly cleaned, and the amenities were provided in a cute pouch. Thank you for keeping everything clean every day. The restaurant buffet had a wide variety, and we were able to enjoy the ingredients of Yakushima, making both breakfast and dinner something to look forward to every day. On the second day, we went on a Jomon Sugi trekking, so they prepared a lunch box for us. We received the lunch box with a smile early in the morning, which motivated us for the trekking! Haha The Onsen had silky smooth water, which was impressive. The changing rooms and other areas were kept clean, creating a wonderful space. I have so much to say that this has become a disorganized text, but in any case, it's an amazing hotel!! Haha I want to thank all the staff who were involved with us this time.     First Time in Yakushima

    I stayed here for my first visit to Yakushima. The entire facility was clean and comfortable, making it easy to relax. The food was very delicious, and I ended up eating until I was completely full. One request I have is that I wanted to feel the sea breeze and open the window, but insects came in immediately, so it would be nice to have a screen door.

    A hotel that makes you want to visit again!

    We stayed for three nights and went on the Jomon Sugi trekking. The property was clean everywhere, and the staff were friendly and welcoming, making it a wonderful place. The trekking confirmation was done in advance, and the arrangement for the lunch box was smooth. Although the location is a bit far from Jomon Sugi and Shiratani Unsuikyo, there is no problem at all if you have a rental car or a tour with shuttle service. It is a hotel in a wonderful place where you can enjoy beautiful views of both the sea and the mountains. The onsen is alkaline, making your skin smooth. We soaked in it after trekking and slowly relieved our fatigue! The most satisfying part was the buffet! One might think, "It's just a buffet from a stay plan," but that was not the case at all. Everything, from dishes using local ingredients to the live kitchen and desserts, exceeded expectations and was delicious! If I have the chance to visit Yakushima again, I will definitely make a reservation without hesitation! I look forward to another opportunity if possible...!

    The hot spring clings to the skin, feeling slimy at first and then smooth, and this pleasant slimy sensation is quite rare. Please experience it for yourself. The food was delicious, the service was pleasant, and I had a great time. If I have the chance to visit Yakushima again, I think I will choose this hotel.
