    Excellent dining experience

    This was my second stay, and once again I chose the Plan with dinner and breakfast. As before, the meals were simply outstanding. With a full-course meal these days, I sometimes feel full before reaching the main dish, but here I was able to enjoy everything through dessert. There are many dishes, yet it all feels wonderfully light. Not only is the food delicious, but it also leaves you feeling comfortable afterward, allowing you to make the most of your evening—an extremely satisfying course. Breakfast was just as great as ever, and I was happy to have the freshly baked croissants again. Thank you very much.

    The Finest Hotel

    Wonderful hospitality! I was truly impressed by the staff’s attentive care. The interior is elegant and made for a very comfortable stay. Breakfast at the restaurant was outstanding in both taste and atmosphere. I also appreciated the intimate size and relaxed feel, with not too many guests. A truly one-of-a-kind, exceptional Hotel.     I thoroughly enjoyed a luxurious solo getaway.

    I was a little worried that after five years the renovation might have changed things too much, but it’s actually been upgraded in the best way! I remembered the French cuisine at Noborioji Hotel as “a comforting course that’s genuinely delicious,” and that steady quality is still there—now with plenty of thoughtful surprises clearly designed to delight guests. Once again, I ate and drank so much I could barely move. It’s a course I’d love to share with someone special. Breakfast was also excellent, and I was happy to have freshly baked bread and homemade jam. That said, I used to love the vegetable-packed poached egg dish, so it’s a shame it’s no longer available. Perhaps because I was traveling solo this time, all of the staff spoke to me in a polite yet friendly way, and beyond the message card, I truly felt your heartfelt “welcome back.” Thank you very much. I’ll be back again—please stay just as you are.

    Everything was exceptionally accommodating.

    All staff were exceptionally kind and provided warm, heartfelt service. The French dinner was outstanding, from the presentation to every dish, and breakfast began with freshly baked croissants and freshly squeezed orange juice—both the Japanese set meal and the Western set meal were thoroughly satisfying. Conveniently located, this is a quiet, hidden-gem Hotel.

    Perfect.

    The Room amenities and the cleanliness throughout the property. The quality of the food. Everything was excellent, but what impressed me most was the staff’s hospitality. They were courteous yet friendly, and their ability to turn small details from our conversations into thoughtful service truly felt first-class.

    The Best Hotel

    I stayed for one night with breakfast included. All the staff provided very hospitable service, which made my stay comfortable. The Room was clean and cozy. Breakfast was delicious, and next time I’d like to try dinner as well! I’d definitely like to stay here again when I visit Nara!

    It’s still a wonderful Hotel.

    With the wisteria at Kasuga Taisha in full bloom and a special Yoshino–Omine exhibition being held at the Nara National Museum, I went to Nara. After getting off at Tenri Interchange, I headed north on Route 169; when I reached the main road with the prefectural office in view, I turned right. If you follow the road up along Mt. Wakakusa, you arrive at Tsukihitei; if you turn left toward Kintetsu Nara Station, you reach Noborioji Nara Hotel. The setting, each Accommodation’s character, and the cuisine are completely different, yet both have irresistible appeal—making it hard to choose. When I casually checked IKYU, I noticed that Noborioji Hotel had a single room (I don’t think they used to?). This time I was traveling solo, so that decision was Done. As always, the Hotel staff were attentive and thoughtful in every detail. In a quiet small-and-luxury atmosphere—truly an adults-only hideaway—their prized underground audio room and wine cellar are still there as well. The single room is simpler than a deluxe twin (considering the room rate), but that can’t be helped. The amenities are comparable, so I was more than satisfied. For dinner, since my condition was better than when I stayed previously, I enjoyed everything deliciously. Keeping wine to three glasses also meant I could fully enjoy breakfast—freshly baked croissants as well as rice porridge and tofu—which were excellent too. Before check-in, a staff member told me there would be Emperor Shomu’s memorial service (a Buddhist rite) at Todaiji Temple; I watched it in front of the Great Buddha statue. It was a rare experience and became a wonderful memory. One concern—more unsettling than dissatisfying—is entering the Hotel from the main road: because there is an unbroken flow of people walking from the station toward Nara Park, it can feel confusing to navigate through them. It’s probably difficult to improve this point.

    Truly the best Hotel.

    Because our previous stay was wonderful, we stayed again to celebrate my son’s high school entrance, together with my parents. The food was also excellent, and my parents and son were very happy. My parents liked it so much that they said they would like to stay at this Hotel whenever they visit Nara. We are planning to visit again around autumn. Thank you in advance.

    I’d love to stay here again.

    I stayed for one night on a solo trip. I received an email right after making the Reservation, and they also contacted me by email when I changed my dates, which made me feel at ease. The Room was full of thoughtful touches, and even though I made a last-minute request for a morning walk, they arranged it for me—and even prepared hand warmers and water. Dinner was more than I could finish, but everything was so delicious that I ended up eating it all, even ingredients I usually don’t like. The breakfast croissants were perfectly crisp yet fluffy, and the Eggs Benedict was also excellent—everything was truly delicious. The service struck just the right balance of attentiveness and distance, so I had a very comfortable stay. Another Accommodation I’d love to visit again has been added to my list.

    An absolutely wonderful Hotel

    A short walk from the station, the atmosphere suddenly shifts in a wonderfully refreshing way—and that’s where this Hotel was. From that moment, I knew I’d made the right choice. The staff in every department are seasoned professionals: knowledgeable, pleasant, consistently reliable, and attentive. That day there was a pre-dinner salon concert. A truly captivating pianist performed a variety of pieces, and I thoroughly enjoyed not only the music but also our conversation. The meal was outstanding; even as a solo guest, I felt relaxed and savored it with delicious wine. The bar after dinner also had a great ambiance, and I was able to spend time enjoying conversation. You can feel their genuine desire to welcome guests throughout the Hotel—it makes you want to come back. I’ll definitely be staying again.

    The Best Hotel

    We stayed here with our child this time. The Room was calm and comfortable. There was also a piano concert, and the sound of the Steinway along with the performance by an excellent pianist was outstanding. The cuisine was delicate and very delicious. All of the staff are older, but their wonderful service and thoughtful hospitality made us feel Japan’s pride and professionalism. We will definitely return again.

    Located in an excellent spot near Nara Park and Kasuga Taisha Shrine, this space truly deserves to be called a "hidden retreat for adults." The owner's refined taste and sophisticated preferences are evident throughout, allowing for a richly fulfilling experience. The staff's service was exceptionally attentive and thoughtful, leaving a warm impression. A morning stroll provided an opportunity to reconnect with the history and culture of Nara, making for a truly pleasant moment. From the special view from the corner-view Room to the delicate and high-quality meals, as well as amenities like the fully equipped men's cave with professional sound systems and wine cellar, it felt like visiting a close friend's private villa. If there is one suggestion for improvement, adding more variety to breakfast options could further enhance satisfaction.

    Ancient City Nara - Enjoyable Accommodation

    I was very satisfied to stay at this dream accommodation. The room, the cuisine, and all the hotel staff were exceptional. The Christmas concert was unforgettable as I got to enjoy a cello performance from the front row. On the first day of my stay, the entrance flowers were beautifully arranged for Christmas, and on the second day, they had been replaced with New Year’s decorations—this truly impressed me. I was also delighted by the variety of snacks provided. What stood out most was the breathtaking view from my window of Kofukuji Temple and its historic pine forest. Staying at this hotel allowed me to fully appreciate the charm of ancient Nara. It was undoubtedly the best accommodation I have ever stayed in. Thank you very much!

    It was excellent.

    I stayed for one night alone. From storing my luggage in the morning to the final farewell, every staff member at the reception, restaurant, and bar treated me exceptionally well. The meals were all incredibly delicious. During dinner, I was introduced to a unique way of enjoying fresh oysters and had cheese served before dessert—a rare experience in Japan—which made for a delightful evening. Breakfast was luxurious, starting with freshly baked croissants. I also enjoyed Eggs Benedict; since I'm not particularly fond of Hollandaise sauce, I was thrilled with the cheese and truffle sauce option. The room amenities and tea selection showed great attention to detail, making it an ideal place for a cozy stay-in experience as well. Everything about this Hotel was outstanding. I will definitely visit again!

    The bathroom is filled with a sewage odor.

    I had been looking forward to staying at your hotel as it was a place I wanted to experience for a long time, but the bathroom in the room was filled with a sewage smell, causing various inconveniences and discomfort. The Japanese-style breakfast did not suit my taste, and despite having a multiple night stay, I was unable to use the laundry service. It is truly disappointing to write such a review.

    The bathroom was filled with a sewage smell, making the stay extremely unpleasant. Paying 200,000 yen for a two-night stay and having to endure such conditions is unacceptable. This is not a Business Hotel; one would expect at least a pleasant scent in the room. It took significant effort to bring this issue up. I hesitated but eventually reported it when the smell worsened by morning. However, nothing was resolved after my first complaint. It wasn’t until I mentioned it again during breakfast that I was moved to a new room. Why did I have to report this twice before any action was taken? Dealing with such an issue while already enduring an unpleasant sewage-smelling bathroom made the experience even more stressful. As a result, I couldn’t sleep well and spent most of my time in the room due to exhaustion from lack of rest and stress from moving rooms. If I had known this would happen, I wouldn’t have booked a Multiple Night Stay. I find it hard to believe that you continue using rooms prone to sudden sewage smells without fixing them first through proper maintenance or calling professionals. Assigning guests such rooms guarantees their stay will be far from enjoyable—this should be obvious. While I appreciate the concierge’s efforts in providing guidance, ensuring basic comfort in the Room should come first before offering additional services like recommendations or information about local culture or history (e.g., asking if guests know about "Haibutsu Kishaku"). Such questions might make some people uncomfortable as they are not here for lectures on general knowledge. Additionally, breakfast didn’t suit my taste at all—it was truly unappetizing for me personally. Lastly, having laundry facilities unavailable on weekends seems impractical for guests’ needs—I had no choice but to use coin laundries near JR Nara Station instead. I had been looking forward so much to this trip but ended up writing such negative Reviews instead—it’s genuinely disheartening.

    A Luxurious and Tranquil Retreat

    I made the Reservation about a year ago based on a friend's recommendation. Unfortunately, I couldn't stay at the Hotel much due to work in Nara, but I had such a wonderful time. In the morning, I enjoyed freshly baked croissants and either a Japanese or Western-style breakfast course. The fulfilling breakfast gave me energy for the entire day. It was truly refreshing for my soul!

    Wonderful Hotel

    Thank you for hosting us for one night. We were upgraded to a better Room and had a wonderful time! Thank you so much! The Room was, of course, excellent, and every meal was delicious. They even accommodated changes for items we didn’t prefer. The croissants at breakfast were crispy and chewy! Above all, the staff’s perfect balance of hospitality and interaction was truly comforting. We’ve grown to love Nara even more. Thank you very much!

    "It was the best hospitality!!"

    The cleanliness and elegance of the interior, the delicious meals, and the thoughtfulness of the staff were all exceptional. Early autumn in Nara was bustling with tourists as expected. However, stepping through the gate felt like entering another world. I was able to enjoy a quiet and peaceful time. The morning walk with the guide was also delightful. The brioche and jam from breakfast that I couldn't finish were enjoyed thoroughly the next day—thank you for such a treat! Next time, I plan to adjust my schedule to spend more relaxing time in the Room.

    Everything was excellent.

    This was my first stay at this accommodation. Despite arriving before noon, the staff immediately came out to assist and kindly took care of my luggage. I had informed them via email that I wanted to visit Asuka the next day, and during check-in, they provided me with a lovely pamphlet about Asuka and gave a brief explanation. Additionally, they handed me copies of relevant sections from a gently written book on Nihon Shoki. Thanks to reading this in advance, I was able to fully understand and thoroughly enjoy visiting places like Kitora Tumulus, Takamatsuzuka Tumulus, Ishibutai Kofun, and Asukadera Temple. Although I wanted to thank them directly later on, I didn’t have the chance to meet them again; so here I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude. I thought all the staff's attentiveness was truly exceptional. My thanks also go out to the person who taught me about tea before leaving. The meals were as expected—delicious from appetizers through desserts! There were some dishes prepared in ways I'd never experienced before; they suited my taste perfectly and were incredibly enjoyable. The room amenities—including tea and beverages in the refrigerator—were all carefully selected high-quality items that made for a very comfortable stay. I wasn’t aware that this accommodation is part of Relais & Châteaux until later but found it entirely fitting after learning so—it’s truly deserving of such recognition! On top of that, it offers outstanding value for money. Whenever I visit Nara again, I will definitely choose this accommodation once more. Thank you very much!

    Wonderful Hotel

    We appreciate the staff's attentive service and thoughtfulness. The Room and the entire Hotel were clean and comfortable, and we were delighted to find the drinks in the Room's refrigerator replenished. The juice was very delicious.     Promised to revisit with my mother.

    I had the pleasure of staying with my nearly 80-year-old mother, and we both had an absolutely satisfying experience. Both dinner and breakfast were incredibly delicious, but what truly made our stay so fulfilling was the heartfelt hospitality of the Hotel staff. I am deeply grateful to all of you. On our way home, my mother and I promised to visit again. I sincerely hope that this wonderful Hotel continues to stand in this timeless land of Nara for generations to come.     Small Luxury

    From arrival to departure, I experienced truly heartwarming hospitality. Stepping outside the Hotel, you are surrounded by the bustling energy of inbound travelers, but once inside, it is incredibly quiet—not in a way that feels tense, but rather warm and welcoming. When I went out at night, I was kindly asked if they could prepare my room for bedtime. Upon returning, water had been replenished and a foot mat was placed by the bed. It’s been a while since I’ve received such thoughtful service! Although this isn’t a resort destination, it made me want to stay in the Hotel and simply enjoy my time there. When I mentioned upon arrival that I planned to visit a certain place (〇〇), the staff handed me printed information about it during breakfast the next morning. This kind of personalized attention is truly luxurious and unique to small Hotels where they remember their guests’ faces. Next time, I’d love to visit again with my husband for a more leisurely stay!

    Highly satisfied.

    This was my second stay, and I noticed the entire facility had been renovated, giving it a more modern, clean, and luxurious feel. The newly added balcony deck in the guest room allowed me to feel closer to the beautiful forest of Kofukuji Temple right in front of me. This time, I chose a dinner-inclusive Plan and dined at the on-site restaurant for the first time. The ingredients, cooking methods, and flavors were exceptional, and I was satisfied with every dish. I also appreciated having a chair inside the separate shower room—it was very convenient. All staff members provided excellent hospitality and service, making my stay truly comfortable.

    It might sound a bit...

    It might sound a bit exaggerated, but everything was truly exceptional. First, I was impressed by the impeccable sense of style in every detail. Not only the prominent furnishings like the bed but also small items such as single flower vases and cups were carefully selected. Moreover, everything was highly functional and incredibly comfortable. Despite being meticulously chosen, nothing felt overbearing or out of place—everything blended seamlessly with great taste. As others have mentioned, the service was outstanding. Both the quality of services provided and the hospitality of the staff were remarkable.
