    Facility

    I’m not sure what the concept is, but the pool and bath are small, and the Facility feels outdated; it has been carefully maintained but not renovated or updated with newer features. I was disappointed because it didn’t really feel like a resort.

    The breakfast and the large public bath are excellent.

    A short distance from downtown in southern Ishigaki Island, this is an oceanfront property. However, it felt more like a rocky shore than a beach. There are two sections, Villa Garden and Ocean Wing, and they are essentially separate Hotels rather than just different buildings. The entrances are also different. I stayed in the Ocean Wing, but I had pictured the Villa Garden vibe, so there was a bit of a gap. Overall it feels old, and the pool on this side is small. I was very happy that the large public bath had both a sauna and a cold plunge pool, but I did notice some areas that didn’t feel very clean. There are three dinner options: teppanyaki, shabu-shabu, and a bar. We chose the shabu-shabu restaurant with an à la carte menu. We picked the cheapest shabu-shabu course, but it included sashimi as well as shabu-shabu and we were full; in the end we only ordered sea grapes from the à la carte menu. I think breakfast was ¥2,800; there was plenty of variety, including Ishigaki oden and Yaeyama squid-ink pasta, which made it very satisfying. Overall it’s on the older side, but reasonably priced for that reason. Even though it isn’t a beach setting, the sea is right in front of you, so I think it’s a good place to enjoy an Ishigaki-like atmosphere.

    A Comfortable Stay

    I stayed for two nights. All the staff, including those who assisted me at check-in, were kind and courteous. Thank you very much. The drinks available at the entrance and the large public bath in the Facility were also great. Thank you again.

    I enjoyed a truly extraordinary experience.

    The Hotel was excellent—better than I imagined. Breakfast offered plenty of Okinawan dishes, and I was very satisfied. I also made a Reservation for dinner, and the Shuttle Service to the main building made everything effortless. I had a wonderful time, and I was amazed at how beautiful the stars in the night sky were. I would love to stay again if I have the chance. Thank you very much.

    It was a comfortable stay.

    I stayed here for a solo trip. The Shuttle Service to the airport was convenient, the Room was spacious enough, and the resort atmosphere was fantastic—completely satisfying. I chose a plan with dinner and breakfast included, and both were excellent. The teppanyaki buffet at Tida and the yakiniku at Ryuka were delicious without any additional charges, and breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes. Although swimming in the sea right in front of the Hotel wasn't possible, it was off-season anyway, and I didn't plan to swim, so it wasn't an issue. There’s also a drink service near the front desk, large public baths with stone saunas available, and even complimentary ice cream after bathing. It truly felt like a fully accommodating Hotel experience. Since it was off-season, I assume I got to stay at an affordable price—but if this same experience were in Honolulu, how much more would it cost? Honestly, why go to Hawaii when Ishigaki Island is just as good?

    Well-balanced and relaxing.

    This was my first stay at a hotel in Ishigaki. The Resort Hotel offers a sense of openness and an extraordinary atmosphere, while also providing a relaxed environment without being overly formal. Unlike Fusaki, it is not crowded with children, making it ideal for those seeking quiet time. The facility showed some signs of aging but was generally well-maintained, with effective measures against humidity throughout. There was no musty smell typical of seaside accommodations, and the cleaning staff worked diligently, leaving a very positive impression. Breakfast had a wide variety of options; I enjoyed it every morning during my 3-night stay without getting bored. I stayed in the Ocean's Wing and found it preferable to the Villa Garden when considering amenities like the large public bath and other facilities. For dinner, I dined at TEEDA one evening—everything was elegant and absolutely delicious. It exceeded expectations! The large public bath also featured an open-air section, and unlimited ice cream after bathing added to the experience. If I had to point out anything, the amenities were somewhat basic for this class of hotel; additionally, having an on-site gym would be beneficial. However, overall satisfaction was excellent—I would love to return!

    We stayed here on the last day of our 5-day, 4-night trip. The facility felt a bit outdated. The meal options seemed significantly fewer compared to the Fusaki Beach Resort where we stayed the previous night. What bothered me most was that during check-in, I was told that baby bottles could be sterilized by boiling, and I requested this service twice during our stay. However, both times I asked at the front desk, the staff members seemed confused and unsure about my request, which made me feel disappointed. Since no other hotels during our trip handled such requests in this way, it stood out to me even more. I probably won't use this accommodation again in the future but hope that other families with babies won't have a similar experience here.

    A relaxing 3-night, 4-day trip with my husband. The large public bath and stone sauna were fantastic—completely satisfying. We would love to visit again if we have the chance!

    It was nice to relax.

    The trip to Ishigaki Island, planned since spring, unfortunately coincided with bad weather, which was disappointing. The Hotel offered reasonable rates and satisfactory services. However, as the target audience seemed broad with many families staying, we found it a bit lively for us as an elderly couple. This was particularly noticeable in the lobby and bath area where children were enjoying themselves loudly. We realized that this type of Hotel might not suit us well. The staff were all very cheerful and provided kind service, which we greatly appreciated. Due to heavy rain, we had dinner at the Hotel but found it slightly disappointing that there were only three options available, all being meat dishes. The view from the Hotel would have been wonderful if the weather had been clear.

    It was excellent.

    The staff were very kind, and I had a comfortable stay. The souvenir shop staff, cleaning staff, and front desk staff all greeted me with smiles and provided kind service. I also enjoyed having breakfast on the quiet terrace in a relaxed atmosphere. It was great to be able to use the large public bath even after checking out. One suggestion: it would be even better if makeup remover could be included in the room amenities set.

    Comfortable

    I have stayed here multiple times, and the facility and service are just right, making me choose this hotel again and again. However, it's a bit disappointing that the parking lot is limited and often competitive; it would be great if it were more convenient. The breakfast menu is quite repetitive, which can get tiresome during a Multiple Night Stay. On the bright side, the welcome drinks are available for unlimited consumption until 8 PM, which is fantastic for beer lovers. The large public bath also includes a sauna. If I had to point out one thing, it would be that I wish it were slightly more spacious—but overall, it's well-equipped!

    This was my first stay in Ishigaki Island. Unfortunately, everything felt disappointing, and I regret it. What saddened me the most was when I asked the front desk staff to take a photo before departure; they responded with great annoyance and an unpleasant attitude. I understand you must be busy.

    Oceans Wing &/or Villa Garden

    I initially thought I would be staying in the villa based on the title "Villa Garden." However, it turned out to be the other option (Ocean's Wing), and without carefully checking, I reserved a Universal Room, which is essentially a barrier-free room. While that was fine, the bathroom was not separated from the toilet area, and there was no place to hang the showerhead above the bathtub. As a result, water would soak the floor leading to the toilet. It was inconvenient for able-bodied guests. I should have checked the Room Plan more carefully. Although it was a no-meal Plan, I added pork shabu-shabu for an extra charge at dinner, and it was delicious at the restaurant.

    A Hotel for a Relaxing Stay

    After staying on Iriomote Island, I took a taxi from the remote island terminal to reach the accommodation. It was my first stay here, and all the staff at the front desk and restaurant had such a kind and welcoming atmosphere. This alone made time feel calm and soothing. I used the large public bath twice, which was not crowded and very pleasant. The room was spacious, making it an excellent hotel for a relaxing stay. The free shuttle bus to the airport was also convenient. However, the face towels were quite stiff and might need replacing soon.

    A wonderful tropical stay.

    The reception provided extremely kind service, allowing for a very pleasant start. The Room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and easy to relax in, and the bath was also very enjoyable. They kindly listened to our activity inquiries; although an accident caused the planned activity to be canceled, they handled it thoroughly and we were able to participate after rescheduling. The food was incredibly delicious—I ended up eating too much and started worrying about my weight! I would love to stay here again if I have the chance to travel in the future.

    A family-friendly Hotel with daily festivals and events, but the Onsen...

    Stayed for one night at this accommodation on Ishigaki Island. The room had a loft and, while old, was relatively clean. The bed area was comfortable, and there were no issues with moldy smells or dust as mentioned in some reviews. It seemed well-maintained. Meals included Ishigaki beef barbecue for dinner and a buffet for breakfast. Both were relatively tasty. The onsen experience was disappointing due to hygiene issues. Hair was found in the women’s bath, some foreign guests entered without rinsing off beforehand, and used towels were scattered around the changing area. Improved cleaning during operating hours and better guidance for foreign tourists would be appreciated. Although we couldn’t join due to participating in an external nighttime activity, there seemed to be daily events like festival stalls for children, drum performances, and stargazing events. We managed to attend the stargazing session where a knowledgeable female guide provided detailed explanations—it was very enjoyable. The pool was fun for children despite the water being cold due to the season. The lifeguard kept a close watch, ensuring safety. Overall, it was a very satisfying resort hotel except for the onsen experience.

    Great value for money

    The stay was comfortable with no particular complaints about the Room or services. The Room was clean and sufficiently equipped, and the bathroom, shower area, and large public bath were very clean as well. However, the hallways and lobby were quite hot and humid, likely due to being in Ishigaki Island, which made me sweat just going back and forth between the Room and the public bath. Other than that, there were no issues at all, offering excellent value for money.

    It feels so relaxing.

    I have been using this place for 6 consecutive years. This time, I stayed for 5 nights and 6 days, and as always, I enjoyed the excellent service, the delicious and varied breakfast, and the staff's attentive yet unobtrusive care that made my stay comfortable. They even prepare the same Room for me every time... Grand Vion Stay has become a highlight of our summer enjoyment.

    Having stayed twice ...

    Having stayed twice at the Ocean Wing and knowing the quality of this hotel, I decided to try the Villa Garden for the first time. The room was spacious and uplifting upon entry, but the sofa facing the garden had cushions that slid easily, making it uncomfortable to relax. Additionally, as others have mentioned, the air conditioning could not be adjusted—it was noisy and too strong. Turning it off made it too hot to sleep, so I ended up turning it back on and sleeping under a blanket. The open-air bath in Villa Garden felt small and lacked a sense of openness; I left within five seconds deciding to head back to Ocean Wing instead. The next morning, I used Villa Garden's bath area but found an unpleasant odor near what seemed like a post-bath relaxation space. The bath towels also carried this smell, which made for an unpleasant start to my day. That said, the room itself was lovely with Okinawan dishes offered at breakfast being delicious (though desserts were disappointing). The staff provided excellent service—welcome drinks were available along with beer in the room and chilled Ryukyu glassware—a delightful touch! The pricing is reasonable for what’s offered overall; it's a hotel I'd like to stay at again if even one aspect improves further!

    Three dinner restaurants and a large public bath are the highlights.

    Stayed for 3 nights and 4 days with dinner and breakfast included. The toilet, washroom, and bathroom in the guest room were spacious and separate, which was great. The large public bath also had a sauna, making it very comfortable. I enjoyed the alcohol served at dinner, and the three non-buffet restaurants where I could relax were excellent. However, one downside was that the walls or floors seemed thin, or perhaps there were noisy guests; either way, sounds from other rooms were disturbing. Additionally, it would be nice if indoor slippers were provided along with indoor wear. Overall, it was a satisfying stay at this accommodation.

    I stayed in a villa with the Solo Traveler Support Plan and had an incredibly relaxing and wonderful stay. It was truly amazing. First, let me highlight the positive points: The entire villa had a calm, mature atmosphere and was extremely quiet. I could tell that my request for a quiet room was taken into consideration, and I am grateful for that. The cleaning was impeccable, making the room clean and comfortable to stay in. The lighting inside the room was excellent, especially creating a great ambiance at night. The staff members—from those at the front desk to restaurant staff, shuttle service drivers, and cleaning personnel—were kind, polite, gentle, yet natural in their demeanor. This must be not only due to training but also because those with such qualities were carefully selected during recruitment. Breakfast was exceptionally delicious with many Okinawan specialties; it showed creativity in its offerings with perfect seasoning. The braised pork belly melted in my mouth—I’d love to have it again! There were plenty of fruits as well; the watermelon was sweet and fantastic. The shuttle service from the airport made things very convenient. Being so close to the sea allowed me to spend time relaxing on the beach without any hassle. The pool felt great too—I enjoyed lounging by it leisurely. I barely went out during my stay as I spent most of my time at this hotel itself—forgetting about busy daily life while immersing myself in island time thanks entirely to everyone at this accommodation. It’s been quite some time since I last felt reluctant about leaving or wished I'd booked three nights instead of two at such a resort! Now onto some suggestions (please forgive me if they sound presumptuous): I found that uniforms worn by front desk staff seemed too plain for resort vibes—they could perhaps be more vibrant or fittingly themed?     First Time in Ishigaki Island

    Stayed during Golden Week. It was very relaxing, but although it was an ocean-view room, I thought I could relax on the balcony; however, the neighboring area was fully visible, so I couldn't go outside. That part was disappointing, but considering the price, it can't be helped. The food was delicious. I will use this accommodation again when visiting Ishigaki Island next time.

    Variation in Services Part 2

    The breakfast menu, based on Okinawan cuisine with various creative touches, offered a diverse selection that ensured satisfaction even during a Multiple Night Stay. Thank you. On the other hand, the air conditioning in the Room was difficult to operate and challenging to adjust. The adjustment buttons were linked to various functions, making it hard to achieve the desired settings. We encourage you to experience it for yourself.

    Service Variations

    There were some missing or insufficient items in the Room, and I received various assistance from the front desk and housekeeping staff. Bath towels, face towels, and hand towels were completely insufficient. The next day, I stayed at a Hotel on Okinawa's main island, where there were plenty of towels provided—a noticeable difference in quantity. Additionally, the cushion seat in the Room shifts when lying down, causing cushions and stands to move and feel unstable. Perhaps if Hotel staff tried sleeping on it themselves, they would understand. The service was attentive despite being busy with limited staff members who worked hard to provide proper service to many guests. While it may be challenging due to staffing shortages, increasing personnel might allow for more relaxed responses. However, on the morning of the second day, I asked a female front desk staff member to have towels placed in my Room. Unfortunately, neither of the two Rooms I requested had any towels delivered. When making my request earlier that morning, she pointed out differences between bath towels and face towels—could this have been why my request was overlooked? It was slightly disappointing.

    This was my second stay at this hotel. Perhaps because I made the reservation the day before or due to the reasonable price, my room was located farthest away, which made it tiring to go to the large public bath. The man at the front desk during check-in had a very intense demeanor, which was a bit intimidating. I would have appreciated a little more friendliness and smiles. As for meals, I enjoyed both yakiniku and shabu-shabu at two different restaurants. The staff at both places were kind, and the food was delicious. Regarding the stone sauna in the bath area, while it was quiet and comfortable, I noticed an unpleasant smell and only used it once. Please consider placing some aroma diffusers or taking other measures. I look forward to visiting again when I go to Ishigaki Island!

    Stayed at Umikaji Accommodation in Villa Garden. Being on the 3rd floor, the high ceiling and the view of the villa's red roofs with the ocean beyond were stunning. The room was spacious with a great layout, offering a perfect resort vibe. Small luxuries like welcome beer and onsen ice cream available anytime added to a sense of indulgence and value. Breakfast featured many small dishes served in individual bowls, which were not only clean but also beautifully presented when arranged on plates; every dish was perfectly seasoned and delicious. During our 3-night stay, we enjoyed different live kitchen options daily—French toast, pancakes, and eggs benedict. At night, stepping into the garden offered breathtaking stargazing opportunities; however, it would be nice if there was enough light to see your footing better. Additionally, opting for eco-cleaning earned us two ¥1,000 vouchers that we could use during dinner. Overall, this turned out to be an incredibly satisfying 3-night/4-day stay that exceeded expectations!

    Good Points: - Friendly service from pool staff, cleaning staff, and restaurant staff. - Onsen, pool, restaurant, and other facilities are all available within the hotel. - It was not very crowded, possibly due to the timing of the visit. - Close to downtown and ferry terminal. - Limited shuttle service available from the airport to the hotel. Bad Points: - Front desk staff during both night check-in and morning check-out provided only minimal service. - Dead insects found near switches in the room. - Could not sleep due to loud footsteps from children on upper floors both at night and in the morning. - Mattress was extremely hard, almost like sleeping on a floor. Although there are signs of aging in some areas, all facilities are well-equipped; however, I was surprised by how unwelcoming and minimalistic the front desk service was. Being a resort hotel that welcomes guests traveling from afar, it feels like a missed opportunity for front desk staff to provide only expressionless greetings following basic manual instructions without any smiles or warmth toward guests.
