    Delicious food, but a sense of understaffing.

    Dinner was a buffet and very delicious, which even our elementary school-aged child enjoyed. The bathwater was also excellent. However, upon arrival at the entrance during check-in, staff present did not offer any assistance when we seemed lost. After dinner, there was no one at the counter to hand in the meal slip, so we passed by without knowing where to go. Most notably, waiting 40 minutes for breakfast was a first-time experience for us. Although there were empty seats available, it seemed like cleaning up couldn't keep pace. The breakfast queue machine was hard to notice and unattended by staff; as a result, we initially entered the venue unaware of the process and were asked if we had checked in after trying to sit down at a table—this left us feeling uncomfortable as though it were our fault. Overall, there appeared to be a shortage of staff. If you have morning plans or are on a tight schedule, it’s better to avoid peak times or opt for an early breakfast instead.

    It may be challenging until you get used to it.

    This was our first time at Harvest Nasu, as we usually visit Harvest Kinugawa. At first, we got lost finding the way from the lobby to our Room, as well as to the bath and restaurant. As mentioned in Reviews, it was confusing and took some time to get used to. However, the buffet food was absolutely perfect and very satisfying. We stayed in a twin Room, and the hallway leading to it had a wonderful scent—perhaps incense or aroma oil. Due to the confusing layout, we had to lower our satisfaction rating slightly.

    Staying with elderly parents

    I requested a chair in the Room in advance for my elderly parents, and the Hotel provided a room that exceeded our expectations, allowing us to stay comfortably. Although there was no mineral water or coffee machine in the Room, and beverages available within the Hotel were slightly expensive, bringing your own solves this issue. The design of the Room and its view were excellent, so I would consider staying here again if I visit Nasu.

    The meals were delicious.

    This was my first stay at the Harvest Hotel, and it was a large hotel with spacious rooms. The bath was a bit far, but the onsen was excellent. Above all, the buffet-style meals for breakfast and dinner had a wide variety of options, and everything I tried was delicious. I would love to visit again if I have the chance.

    A charming and pleasant Hotel.

    The room was clean, spacious, and stylishly designed. Being on the top floor, the view from the room was excellent, especially during this season of autumn leaves. The room amenities were well-prepared; although there were reviews mentioning no bottled water in the fridge, it wasn’t an issue since tap water is drinkable. However, I would have appreciated having drip coffee available. Dinner was a buffet featuring delicious roast beef carved by a chef and freshly fried tempura. The all-you-can-drink beer and wine were also excellent. Breakfast felt like it had fewer options overall compared to dinner. The onsen was a bit far from the room but spacious and very relaxing—I enjoyed soaking multiple times. The atmosphere of the hotel is wonderful and charming with great surrounding scenery as well. Next time, I’d love to stay for two nights to enjoy a more leisurely experience!

    The single Plan incl...

    The single Plan included a gift from the shop that exceeded my expectations, which made me very happy. The food and staff were excellent. There was also a foot bath along the walking path. I appreciated that the Room's refrigerator had a separate freezer compartment. It was unfortunate that there was no makeup remover in the bathing area (though facial cleanser was provided, and makeup remover sheets were available at the shop, which helped). The facility is spacious, so moving around can be challenging, but the Onsen was great, and I would love to visit again. The paintings on display were also lovely!

    Better suited for groups than solo travelers

    I used the weekday solo travel plan for a refreshing getaway. The room was a spacious twin corner room on the 3rd floor, all to myself. The view from the window was lush and beautiful, making it perfect for reading and napping. The staff I encountered were all kind and helpful. Thank you. Since I didn’t have a car and there didn’t seem to be any shops nearby, I added the breakfast and dinner buffet option. It was nice to enjoy various dishes at my own pace, but there were many group guests, which made it quite noisy at times. When I went for breakfast around 8 AM, there were about 25-26 groups waiting in line... (However, after taking a morning bath and returning in about 30 minutes, my turn came up quickly, so it seems they manage rotations efficiently.) The large public bath was spacious and pleasant; however, some guests were chatting loudly in the open-air bath area. This made me realize that even on weekdays this accommodation might not be ideal for a quiet solo trip. It could be an enjoyable place to visit with friends or family instead!

    The room amenities are limited, and it would be nice if the bathroom had more modern and varied shampoo options. Dinner was great, but breakfast felt like an ordinary buffet, and the staff seemed busy, with little eye contact. While the bath is surrounded by greenery, a better view would have been appreciated.

    I had a relaxing stay.

    We stayed as a group of three women. Although we had planned to visit last year, we couldn't due to unforeseen circumstances, so this was our "revenge" trip. The Room was spacious, and the view outside was incredibly relaxing. We knew in advance from other reviews that there wouldn't be complimentary water service, but it would have been nice to have. The Onsen facilities, including the open-air bath and sauna, were excellent. It would be great if towels were also available in the bathing area. Thanks to IKYU's 12:00 check-out option, we felt like we got extra value. The live kitchen chefs seemed busy, but even just a smile or some interaction with guests could enhance the experience. There were moments when it appeared they didn’t respond to customers' comments or questions. It would also be impressive if floor staff could immediately answer questions about the dishes being served—that’s why I gave four stars instead of five. Still, it was a very satisfying one-night stay!

    We visited with my son's three families. The staff kindly accommodated various requests, making it a truly enjoyable trip. What surprised us was the Onsen. Both types of Onsen left our skin feeling smooth and soft.

    We stayed here for a special occasion. We were grateful for the quiet table prepared as requested during dinner and appreciated the staff's hospitality. Additionally, we were pleasantly surprised by the perfectly timed dessert plate served with our dinner dessert—thank you again for this thoughtful gesture. Thank you to all the staff for your warm hospitality. Although we arrived earlier than expected at check-in, we had to wait until exactly 3:00 PM to check in, which was a bit surprising. If there had been more flexibility like at other Hotels, it would have been a perfect experience (of course, I fully understand that 3:00 PM is the official check-in time and acknowledge current staffing challenges).

    If you plan to reserve this hotel, I recommend checking the low-rated reviews on both this site and other platforms beforehand. They provide a more accurate representation of the experience. Below are some important notes about staying at this accommodation: ○ The hotel entrance is hard to find, and there is no one to greet you upon arrival. ○ The front desk staff are extremely unfriendly and unhelpful. It might be better if check-in (and as mentioned later, check-out) were fully automated. ○ Rooms in Building 2 are particularly far and difficult to locate, making it unsuitable for elderly guests. ○ Dining out for dinner is a better option as there are many wonderful restaurants in Nasu where you can avoid unpleasant experiences at the hotel restaurant. ○ Room amenities are incomplete. ○ While rooms are spacious and comfortable, there were unsightly stains on the walls, and cleanliness was not up to standard. ○ Although room wear is provided, it had an unpleasant body odor that made me feel uncomfortable—possibly unwashed? ○ You cannot walk around the facility wearing room wear or slippers provided in your room. ○ The hot spring quality seems decent; however, considering the size of the accommodation facility, the bath area felt small with crowded changing rooms during peak times. ○ There was a small pool available but no access to its terrace area; it became too hot quickly for prolonged enjoyment. ○ The game corner was very cramped with poor ventilation and ineffective air conditioning. ○ Beds were prepared but futons needed to be laid out by yourself—and like room wear—they also had an unpleasant smell. ○ Breakfast buffet often required waiting up to 30 minutes depending on timing; rice was dry while milk/yogurt/miso soup tasted good. ○ Be cautious not accidentally wearing inappropriate attire such slipper/roomwear outside designated areas otherwise expect being sent back wasting additional time walking back-and-forth (~10min). ○ Departure involves self-checkout via automated payment machine without any personal interaction despite paying prices exceeding typical business hotels. Having consistently enjoyed accommodations listed through IKYU.com previously trusting their recommendations wholeheartedly unfortunately found myself disappointed here instead experiencing subpar service compared even basic business hotels despite premium pricing/appearance elsewhere guests voiced similar frustrations throughout stay

    The environment and breakfast were excellent.

    The view from the room's terrace was excellent and very relaxing. The footbath in the facility was also enjoyable and perfect for unwinding. Breakfast had a wide variety of options and was satisfying.

    Highly satisfied.

    The meals were quite satisfying, but the sushi was a bit disappointing. The topping and rice easily came apart, and the rice fell apart when picked up with chopsticks.

    The shop's customer service and product selection are not very satisfactory.

    The shop did not seem to cater well to the needs of guests. Specifically, there was a limited selection of beverages and no travel-sized skincare products. The staff at the shop also seemed somewhat unfriendly, and I was surprised when my 10,000 yen bill was taken in a rather abrupt manner during payment. Only the shop experience was disappointing. Other facilities, as well as the front desk, restaurant, and shuttle bus staff were excellent, and the meals were delicious. Thanks to this, I was able to refresh myself during my stay.

    Adult Excursion

    First reservation upon my boss's recommendation. Surrounded by greenery, it is a calm and relaxing space. Unexpectedly, the staff celebrated my husband's birthday during dinner, and I truly appreciated their thoughtfulness. The starry sky from the open-air bath at night was beautiful, making this the most wonderful hotel during our five-day, four-night trip. The hospitality is outstanding.

    Stayed at a dog-friendly cottage where pets are welcome. The facility was clean, and the meals were very delicious. The onsen was also relaxing, making it a place we’d love to revisit as a family. Please note that during summer, the Diamond Member benefit of 12 PM checkout is not applicable.

    A bit disappointing.

    The exterior of the Hotel is very impressive. However, the interior feels like a maze and it was difficult to find my way to the guest room. I hope for more detailed guidance. The signboards seem designed for appearance, with indirect lighting making them hard to notice, especially for elderly guests. In the guest room, there was mold and accumulated dirt on the bathroom door seal, and some parts of the floor felt sticky, which gave an impression of poor cleanliness and insufficient cleaning. During checkout, while the automated payment system made it smooth, there were no staff members other than at reception, so I left without any interaction or acknowledgment from anyone. Overall service felt comparable to that of a Business Hotel, which was disappointing. On a positive note, dinner was served as a course meal and it was absolutely delicious. It’s unfortunate that such excellent food is paired with service lacking in attention to detail.

    The Onsen was excellent.

    Overall satisfied. The Room had some wall stains and peeling paint on the doors, and the cleanliness of the water facilities was slightly concerning. It was unfortunate that the Room was far from the restaurant and bath. The meals were delicious but not very diverse. During dinner, the teppanyaki service was slow (some guests ordered multiple portions), so improving operations would be beneficial. The quality of the Onsen was excellent.

    Always Wonderful Harvest Nasu

    It was a perfect summer holiday without any complaints. The greenery surrounding the Room was stunning, and the Room itself exceeded expectations—beautiful and satisfying. It felt almost unfair to stay at such a price. We chose dates to avoid crowds and stayed for three nights, but unfortunately, we decided not to use the pool as it was filled with children. Next time, we plan to visit during winter when it's less crowded so we can enjoy the pool. The service and staff were impeccable. Although the distance to the bath was a bit challenging for me personally, they made every effort to accommodate my needs. I also appreciate their prompt handling of my forgotten items. I look forward to visiting again around February next year! My satisfaction rating is 4 due to not being able to swim in the pool and finding the bath slightly far for me—both personal reasons. Thank you again!

    Nasu is amazing!

    We enjoyed a holiday with our grandchild in a nature-rich environment. Although it was our first time at the Hotel and there were some unfamiliar aspects, we thoroughly enjoyed the delicious meals. One complaint is that the air conditioning blew directly on those sleeping, making it cold and uncomfortable. We hope for improvement.
