    First-time experience

This members-only Hotel was my first, but compared with another members-only Hotel I was invited to by a friend before, the quality here is much lower. First of all, the food isn’t good. The building is gorgeous, and the Onsen water quality was great—smooth and silky. If you improve the food, it would be excellent. The alcoholic drinks are reasonably priced, which is nice.

    Thank you very much.

The Room was wonderful, and my grandchildren who came with me were delighted. The meals were handled carefully with regard to allergies, so I felt at ease. To avoid crowds, it said it was best to settle the bill early at the front desk, so I went as advised, but they had not coordinated with the dining venue and I was told to come again, which was inconvenient. Our Room was also the farthest from the front desk, which made me wonder why. Other than that, everything was very good.

Cloudy Hot Spring at Hotel Harvest Nasu

Until now, we had believed the cloudy water at this Hotel was Onsen and enjoyed it. However, for some reason, the water quality has changed and it has become clear. If it is clear, it is no different from the heated fresh water in the other tub. In the first place, there is no explanation at all—unlike other Facility—about the water or what each bath contains, so it is impossible to understand. This is not acceptable. It is disrespectful to guests who come expecting to enjoy Onsen.

The Room was very quiet and clean. The baths included a jet bath and an open-air bath, and everything was well maintained, which made it very relaxing. We were on a Multiple Night Stay, and when we asked, they adjusted the dinner course menus for both adults and children so we wouldn’t have the same menu each night. Everything was delicious. We were also celebrating a special occasion, so after consulting at the time of our Reservation, they prepared a lovely bouquet and cake at dinner, provided one complimentary drink, and even took photos for us. All of the staff were friendly and attentive—they even offered to take our pictures—so we had a truly enjoyable stay. Thank you very much.

It was a quiet, relaxing time.

The Room overlooked a lush green courtyard, and it was wonderfully quiet—perfect for a relaxing, unhurried stay. Dinner was at the restaurant [Homura], where we enjoyed the Steak & Grill Western-style course. The bite-sized amuse-bouche conveyed warm hospitality with a playful touch. The seasonal corn soup was excellent, and the main meat dish was the best steak I have ever had. The chamomile tea served with dessert was exceptionally fragrant as well, which truly impressed me. All of the staff who served our meal were courteous and attentive, making our time very comfortable. Thank you sincerely. The live kitchen at breakfast was fun, and we thoroughly enjoyed a variety of dishes that made great use of fresh local ingredients. If I may add one request, I would have appreciated bottled water in the Room. The Onsen water quality was also wonderful, and I would love to return during the autumn foliage season.

I’d love to stay here again.

The Onsen, amenities, and in-house Facilities were excellent—an outstanding Hotel overall. I would definitely like to stay again, but there was one very disappointing issue: the breakfast buffet crowding. Although the front desk informed us in advance that it would be very busy, we arrived at 8:00 and waited continuously until after 9:30 to be seated. My wife was looking forward to taking a morning bath after breakfast, but that wasn’t possible because the congestion was excessive. Staggered time slots or similar measures would help, but this point was extremely disappointing. *The food itself was normally tasty. Please improve this.

    A Long-Awaited Trip to Nasu

It had been a long time since our last trip to Nasu, back when my daughter was still little. This was our first time staying here. With a large public bath, sauna, cold plunge, relaxation chairs, and massage chairs, we were able to truly unwind, and we were very satisfied. We also really enjoyed the dinner buffet. Next time, I’d like to come back and relax with just my husband. We would love to stay here again. Thank you for a wonderful trip.

It was a wonderful Hotel in the forest.

Karuizawa was wonderful, but Nasu—surrounded by forest—was also lovely. Each time you move between the guest rooms, the large public bath, and the dining venue while looking out through floor-to-ceiling glass at the beautifully maintained courtyard, you can truly enjoy a resort atmosphere. Some reviews mentioned the distance to the Onsen building and the complexity of the indoor corridors, but we received clear guidance at check-in and there were signs placed throughout, so it wasn’t an issue at all. The food was well balanced—sushi, freshly fried tempura, seafood marinades, salads, hot dishes, and fruits like watermelon and melon—and the staff were pleasant and welcoming as well, so our overall satisfaction was very high. A few differences compared with other places were that you can’t enter the dining venue wearing in-house loungewear (samue), there were no containers/baskets for wet towels, and bathing hours are restricted for a slightly longer period from late night to early morning. Since there are many elderly guests and families with children, these may be safety and hygiene considerations. My wife liked it very much too, so we’d love to visit again.

I was amazed by how wonderful the Japanese-modern course was.

I was deeply impressed by the exceptional quality of the Japanese-modern course. Each dish was cooked with remarkable precision and thoughtfully composed flavors. Not only did it exceed expectations for Japanese cuisine at a Hotel, it rivaled—and even surpassed—many specialty restaurants. Opportunities to enjoy such carefully crafted Japanese cuisine are rare, and it became one of the highlights of my stay. The in-house service was attentive and well-balanced, and the Onsen and sauna were so comfortable that I wanted to stay longer. The guest room was spacious, and the natural scenery of Nasu through the window further elevated the experience. It was an extremely satisfying stay where the cuisine, space, and service were all in perfect harmony. I would love to return.

    Very good

I honestly didn’t expect much because I’d always thought Harvest was more of a family-oriented or golf-focused Hotel, but this place was a great find. The Room was amazing—I’m really glad I went. It felt like a vast Hotel built in the middle of the forest, completely separated from the outside world. I spent my time simply admiring the beautiful greenery right in front of me. The only thing that slightly bothered me was the check-in response, but it was probably just a busy time. Other than that, the staff were excellent—everyone was kind, even at the shop. The bus driver was also very friendly. The buffet was great too. Everything came in small portions so you could try a bit of everything, and there were lots of light dishes that didn’t feel heavy. The dairy products and vegetables were especially delicious. The restaurant is spacious and you can see the garden from anywhere, so even during busy hours we could dine comfortably. The Onsen felt wonderful! The Hotel is huge, so getting around can be tiring—but it turned into good exercise. It was so big at first that I honestly didn’t even know where I was. I could relax not only in my Room but also in places like the library and self-service lounge. There were free massage chairs in the resting area before the baths as well. The guests were calm—no noisy people—and there weren’t many foreign visitors either, so it felt very peaceful. Even just walking around the large garden was soothing. I rated Facility 4 only because one window screen didn’t fit properly; otherwise everything was truly great. Having basic skincare amenities in the Room (and also available at the large public bath) was really helpful.

    The finer details

    1) I opted out of housekeeping for a Multiple Night Stay, but I did not receive the 300-yen shop voucher that I was supposed to get. 2) The tea set area above the refrigerator is dark.

An Accommodation with an excellent Onsen and a wonderful setting

The natural hot spring bath is wonderfully relaxing, and the view of lush greenery from the glass-walled dining area is truly soothing. Weekday rates are reasonable, making this an Accommodation we’d love to visit again. This time I made a Reservation for my sister and a friend, and they said the Onsen was comfortable and they had a relaxing, enjoyable stay.

    All-you-can-drink—cheers!

This was my second stay, and I was very satisfied. The view from the Room was full of nature and felt wonderful. The meals also came with an all-you-can-drink option, offering excellent value for money. One question: do the men’s and women’s Onsen ever switch by time slot? I really liked the open-air bath in the men’s Onsen for its atmosphere, and I would love for my wife to experience it as well.

The Facility, nature, and Onsen were always wonderful and very relaxing. There was only one frying pan, so having a pot as well would be helpful. Plastic wrap, aluminum foil, paper towels, and a few more dishes would also be convenient.

    Thank you for your support.

As always, the property and the Room were well cleaned and spotless. It was disappointing to find red mold in the bathroom in the Room, though. The buffet felt slightly lower in quality than last time, but there was a wide variety of dishes and we enjoyed it. When I was walking while holding plates in both hands, only one particular staff member kept cutting through, which felt a bit dangerous. The baths were also well cleaned, and it was always pleasant to bathe no matter when we went. From the large window in our Room, we were soothed by the deepening green of the trees. We will visit again.

A Green and Excellent Onsen Hotel

I considered canceling due to Typhoon No. 6, but you kindly changed our dates and we enjoyed a wonderful two-night stay. The Onsen was clean and just the right size, with strong showers and perfect water temperature—something you can never truly enjoy at home. The other day, we visited the open and modern “Miruru Library” next to JR Kuroiso Station, which was featured on TV and is a big change from the traditional image of a library. When the weather is bad, I think taking the Hotel Shuttle Service bus is a great way to spend your time well. As someone who has given up my driver’s license, getting around was a concern, but I learned that taxis can be easily called via an app. By combining that with local buses, we were able to sightsee around Nasu conveniently, which made me very happy. We have been staying here for many years, and it was impressive to see how much the garden trees have grown. Maybe our next visit will be during the autumn leaves!

    It was great.

The Hotel entrance and parking lot were a bit hard to find. I dropped off my wife and our luggage in front of the front desk, then parked the car and headed to the lobby, but there were no signs at the entrance on the parking-lot side, so I hesitated about whether it was okay to enter from there. The layout inside is also somewhat complex, and it was quite a long walk from our Room to the large public bath. The large public bath had a spacious washing area, plus a sauna and an open-air bath, so we were able to fully enjoy the Onsen. It was also nice that we could use the free massage chairs. We also used the pool, but it felt a little shallow for adults who want to swim. The guest Room felt standard overall, but the bed was on the firm side and wasn’t comfortable for me. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style, but overall they felt fairly average. There weren’t many items, and nothing in particular stood out as unique. On the other hand, the interior design throughout the Hotel was wonderful, and we were able to relax in an atmosphere that felt different from everyday life.

    It was very comfortable!

It was a wonderful Hotel, and I was able to relax for the first time in a while. Dinner was a set course, and I could really feel the chef’s thoughtful approach in each dish—it was absolutely delicious. They also accommodated an unexpected allergy request, and I’m truly grateful to all the staff., The bath area was clean with a great view, and it was very relaxing. I would definitely like to stay again., Thank you very much.

    Couples’ Trip

A Room with a balcony, and even the open-air bath felt like being in a forest. I enjoyed walking around the courtyard, and at breakfast I could see the courtyard trees through the window—it’s a Hotel, but it felt like staying at a private villa. All of the meals were absolutely delicious.

An entrance very close to where you park. Is this really the correct way in? I entered through the back entrance, and the walk to the front desk felt long while pulling my suitcase. The Room looked clean at first glance. In Karuizawa and Old Karuizawa, we were provided with mineral water and drip coffee, so it was disappointing that there was none here. The inexpensive tea bags were also disappointing. For dinner and breakfast, it was a bit inconvenient and hard to read having to scan a QR code to check allergy information. In Karuizawa and Old Karuizawa, they provided a printed sheet and highlighted the relevant allergens with a highlighter. The bath was very good. The open-air bath had a noticeable disinfectant smell, but it wasn’t crowded so I could relax. Unfortunately it was rainy and cold, so I didn’t go out into the garden. It seems there is also a footbath, so I’d like to enjoy that next time. All of the staff were very kind and pleasant. Thank you for taking care of us during our stay.

    This Harvest is approved.

Perhaps because I had an unpleasant experience in Arima, Nasu felt wonderful. The buffet offered a wide variety of dishes and the quality was excellent. The room had high ceilings, and the curtains blocked out unwanted light well, so I slept soundly. If I had to mention one drawback, the humidifier didn’t work very well and the room felt a bit dry.

    Relax in Nature

Stayed using IKYU’s birthday Plan. The bouquet and cake were more luxurious than expected, which was a pleasant surprise. I really enjoyed the Plan, and the open-air bath with milky hot-spring water helped me unwind from everyday fatigue. The room only had green tea, so I would have been even more satisfied if black tea had been available as well.

    Relax and unwind.

I stayed for two nights, and the Room was spacious and clean. The Onsen had wonderful water; I soaked three times a day, and my skin felt silky smooth. I could also take walks in the garden, the views were amazing, and with the great weather it made for a lovely holiday. I was able to enjoy my meals at a relaxed pace—they were delicious, and I ate too much. I would definitely like to stay again.

    The Best Resort

The view was outstanding: from the Room, we could see the snow-capped Nasu mountains beyond a beautiful courtyard. I forgot about the February cold and spent time on the balcony just enjoying the scenery. The Room was quiet and spacious enough, with tasteful interior design, so I was able to relax completely. The windows are wide, large, and bright. Cleaning was perfect—not only in the Room but throughout the entire property—and everything was very clean. As expected of the Tokyu Group, everything is refined: the building layout, Room design, Onsen facilities, interior lighting, high ceilings, and even every tree in the garden are thoughtfully arranged to create an elegant highland resort atmosphere. The property is quiet, and other guests were very considerate and well-mannered. Most noteworthy was how excellent all staff were. The front desk staff—and especially those in the restaurant and housekeeping—offered warm greetings and thoughtful attention that were truly wonderful. It’s clear they reflect on what courtesy and hospitality should be and train every day. Their natural kindness made us feel great. When my friend dropped an egg at breakfast, we really appreciated how quickly and gently they helped us. Their language, manners, expressions—everything—was of a very high standard, showing true professionalism. Above all else, we could genuinely feel how much they value their guests. Thank you. Another highlight: the food was delicious. Both dinner and breakfast buffets were carefully prepared dish by dish; you can tell real thought goes into ingredients and seasoning. There was a wide variety of items with plenty of local produce—food that pleased not only our taste buds but also our eyes and hearts. I was also happy to have soba. The Onsen was also excellent—it warmed me through to my core—and I could truly unwind with my friend for the first time in a while. There is no bottled water provided in the Room, but the tap water tasted incredibly good—bottled water felt unnecessary. To be honest, since the Room is so relaxing, I would have been happy if coffee were provided in the Room. Lastly, about the pool: the windows are a bit foggy, so it would be even better if that could be improved. I’m not sure how others use it, but I honestly wondered whether a swim cap is really necessary; perhaps simply asking guests with long hair to tie it back would be enough. The pool itself was very bright, clean, and pleasant. It’s been a long time since I could confidently tell family and friends, “Tokyu’s Nasu Hotel was amazing—I highly recommend it.” I would love to stay again.

    Visit during nearby business trips

As always, we are deeply grateful for your exceptional hospitality this year. Thanks to your thoughtful arrangements, we were able to complete our remaining tasks smoothly. The service provided by the front desk, dining floor staff, and cleaning team was outstanding as usual, allowing us to enjoy a worry-free stay. The Onsen was remarkable in terms of design, view, and water quality; we used it multiple times during our stay. We chose the buffet for both dinner and breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed it again this year. However, we were disappointed that the beef stew we look forward to every year was not available at dinner. Additionally, having at least two staff members assigned to omelet preparation during breakfast would be ideal. For those on a Multiple Night Stay who use the laundry facilities, there seems to be an ongoing issue where some guests do not retrieve their items promptly. This often results in others being unable to use the machines—a situation that has become somewhat of an annual occurrence. It would be greatly appreciated if measures could be taken to address this. Overall, this is an excellent Hotel that I hope to revisit not only at year-end but also whenever opportunities arise throughout the year!

    We stayed on a weekd...

We stayed on a weekday during the off-season with friends. It was about an hour by bullet train from Tokyo, and we smoothly checked in after reserving the shuttle bus. The room was a Japanese-Western style, very clean with a calm atmosphere. The meals were buffet-style, featuring elegant and delicious dishes; the chef's steak and tempura were exceptional. The onsen was very relaxing and clean, and we also enjoyed the indoor pool. The next day, we visited the Stained Glass Museum within walking distance and took the hotel shuttle bus back to the station. The staff's hospitality was excellent, and we would love to stay here again!

Delicious food, but a sense of understaffing.

Dinner was a buffet and very delicious, which even our elementary school-aged child enjoyed. The bathwater was also excellent. However, upon arrival at the entrance during check-in, staff present did not offer any assistance when we seemed lost. After dinner, there was no one at the counter to hand in the meal slip, so we passed by without knowing where to go. Most notably, waiting 40 minutes for breakfast was a first-time experience for us. Although there were empty seats available, it seemed like cleaning up couldn't keep pace. The breakfast queue machine was hard to notice and unattended by staff; as a result, we initially entered the venue unaware of the process and were asked if we had checked in after trying to sit down at a table—this left us feeling uncomfortable as though it were our fault. Overall, there appeared to be a shortage of staff. If you have morning plans or are on a tight schedule, it’s better to avoid peak times or opt for an early breakfast instead.
