    We had a wonderful time.

    We stayed during my wife’s birthday month. The staff’s hospitality was wonderful, and we had an amazing time. In our top-floor Room, the complimentary alcohol, snacks, and Häagen-Dazs were truly plentiful. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. They also provided a birthday plate service and took photos for us. When we checked out the next day, we received the photos, which became a great memory of our trip. The late-night soba was excellent, and with the Plan that included free alcohol it was even better. The Room also had an open-air bath and a massage chair, so we could relax without worrying about others. It was especially nice to soak in the open-air bath in the morning while looking out at the sea. We would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

    A highly hospitable accommodation!

    This was our first stay, and it was an Accommodation that truly lived up to its high Reviews. While the building is undeniably old, we enjoyed it to the fullest from arrival until departure the next morning. Everything was provided, and we were very satisfied! For reference, I’d like to share just two points that stood out. Regarding the private bath with a reclining tub: when we used it after dinner, both my husband and I became itchy all over. Even if it is a circulation system, I think the condition of the tub should be checked regularly. The lighting in the in-room bath is far too dim. Since there is no washing area at the open-air bath in the guest room, we used it instead, but it was so dark that we disliked the gloomy atmosphere. Other than these two points, everything was perfect. The staff were very attentive, and you can tell it’s run by a small but highly capable team. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone coming to this area. Thank you very much.

    This was my second s...

    This was my second stay. This time, I stayed on the 8th floor (the top floor), which I had been wanting to try, with access to an exclusive bar. From the moment I arrived in my Room until just before leaving, I fully enjoyed the private bar, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious and very filling! Dinner was the boat platter Plan, and I was surprised by how luxurious it was. It was truly delicious! However, the water pressure of the shower in the in-room indoor bath was extremely weak and unusable. Since there was a private open-air bath available, I considered just using that instead and letting it go, but when I contacted the front desk, they responded very kindly—thank you. Everyone at the Hotel treated us wonderfully; we had a great time and were very satisfied. I would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

    Highly satisfied

    The Room was spacious and comfortable! Both the in-room bath and the private bath were excellent! The meals were elegantly seasoned, and everything was truly delicious. On top of that, all the staff had wonderful smiles and provided outstanding service. We stayed for two nights, and from our taxi arrival on the first day to the Shuttle Service to the station on the last day, we had a very pleasant time. Thank you very much.

    The staff’s attentiveness was outstanding.

    This was my first stay, and I really enjoyed the food and the open-air bath with an ocean view. The property isn’t very large, which actually suited me well as someone who prefers a relaxed atmosphere. While I was waiting at the entrance to use the popular open-air bath, a staff member kindly offered me a drink—something I rarely experience at a large Hotel. Next time, I’d like to do a Multiple Night Stay and also visit the affiliated Hotel, Kaze no Kaori MORI.

    Great overall value for money.

    I made a Reservation to celebrate his birthday in December, but due to scheduling, we changed it to a date close to my birthday. I had requested a dessert plate for him at the time of booking, and I was happy that the Hotel also prepared one for me since my birthday was near. The Hotel has nine floors and is very clean. The open-air baths felt a bit small, but the “Kaoru” open-air bath on the 9th floor is spacious. With the windows fully opened, you can see out over the sea—an amazing view. It’s not by reservation, so you need to check when it’s available, but since we wake up early, we were able to go in first thing in the morning. There were several kinds of drinks provided in our Room. Many drinks during meals were free as well, and there was an all-you-can-drink bar during certain hours—even late-night ramen. We also enjoyed karaoke for free! The food was delicious, and we were very satisfied with the sukiyaki-flavored meat we ordered as an extra. The staff service was great too, so overall we were very satisfied and felt it offered good value for money. We’d love to visit again.

    Thank you very much for having us stay at your Accommodation. It had been a long time since we found an Accommodation that satisfied us in every way—hospitality, cuisine, and Facility were all excellent, and it truly made us want to stay again. If I may add one suggestion, I would appreciate it if the scenic open-air bath could be made a little easier to use, and it would be nice if there were some light snacks available during BAR TIME when using the terrace. That said, the incredibly delicious seafood platter amazed us and made us forget everything else. The quality and portion size were unlike anything we’ve had elsewhere—truly outstanding. We will definitely stay again when we have the opportunity. Thank you very much.

    Moved by the hospitality all over again

    We visited as a family for the first time in about 10 years. Compared with what I remember from 10 years ago, the Room and private reservable bath have aged over time, but everything is kept very clean and our satisfaction was extremely high. From the welcome drink at check-in to free drinks at dinner and breakfast, ramen served at the night bar, and even free karaoke, you can easily spend all your time at the Hotel. If you stay at this Hotel, I recommend relaxing here rather than going around sightseeing spots. When I asked the staff, they said many guests are repeat visitors and it is often fully booked. Since there are only a small number of Rooms, I felt the service was especially attentive. Our family was very happy, and we would love to return again in the future.

    An exceptional stay, made even better by our staff’s warm smiles.

    The service quality was exceptionally high, making for a very comfortable stay. The all-you-can-drink service—great for those who enjoy alcohol—and the wonderful private bath were both flawless. As a couple, we ate and drank plenty, relaxed in the Onsen, and were completely satisfied. We will definitely be coming back many times in the future.

    I had a relaxing time.

    Ocean View Room with Private Open-Air Onsen and Massage Chair. Perfect for a solo trip as a reward to yourself. Private onsen baths are available, and with the limited number of rooms, you can enjoy them multiple times. After meals, relax in your room by soaking in the onsen and enjoying a massage. The meals were delicious, making it the ultimate treat!

    It’s wonderful.

    The day we arrived, the wind was extremely strong, and since the Hotel is located by the seaside, it was quite challenging. The Room had a massage chair, which was absolutely great. The bath on the top floor seemed popular but surprisingly wasn’t crowded, so we could enjoy it multiple times at our convenience. Towels were provided in the bath area, which was very convenient, and there were also ReFa hair dryers and hair irons in the Room—super handy! The amenities were well-stocked as well. For meals, we ordered additional Ise lobster and turban shell sashimi; a huge boat platter came out—it was astonishing! We struggled to finish it all. Without the boat platter, it might feel insufficient for some people; however, with late-night ramen available at this Hotel, even without it might be just right. There were also foot baths (both wet and dry), doctor fish treatments that we didn’t use but looked fun—and even karaoke facilities for entertainment!

    It was a very lovely Hotel!

    I stayed at this ryokan as part of my boyfriend's birthday present! I was able to communicate thoroughly via email in advance about the room, cake, and decorations, which gave me great peace of mind! On the day of our stay, the staff's attentiveness, the room, and the meals were all absolutely satisfying! My boyfriend was overjoyed as well! I would love to stay here again when visiting Izu. Thank you for creating such wonderful memories!

    It was my first time using this service, and I was very satisfied with the hospitality, attentiveness, responsiveness, and professionalism of all the staff. The only downside was the thin walls between rooms, which made me notice voices from next door. Other than that, everything was excellent. I look forward to using your service again in the future.     Refresh your mind, body, and appetite.

    Relax and unwind at "Kaze no Kaori UMI," offering breathtaking views of Sagami Bay and Ito City. Our room was on the 8th floor, featuring a private open-air hinoki bath on the balcony with stunning scenery as a feast for the eyes. Dinner tonight was kaiseki cuisine at the 2nd-floor restaurant & bar "Shiosai," starting with four types of aperitifs. The amuse-bouche included flavorful pumpkin tofu garnished with micro tomatoes, marinated scabbard fish in mild vinegar, and chestnut wheat gluten mixed with egg yolk and shiokara, topped with goji berries. The soup course featured turnip steamed in light kudzu broth—so delicious that I savored every last drop. For sashimi, we enjoyed amberjack, longfin sea bream, golden eye snapper, and tuna paired with unsweetened white soy sauce from Kumamoto Prefecture. The grilled dish was duck sandwiched between green onions and shiitake mushrooms—perfectly complemented by a squeeze of lemon. The shiraae (white sesame dressing) included dried fish called hoshidatsu and Satsuma-age; I couldn't help but wonder what kind of fish hoshidatsu is! Tonight's hot pot was oyster dotenabe—a bubbling delight enhanced by yuzu zest for added flavor variation. Next came palate cleansers: monkfish liver dressed in sauce alongside monkfish aspic—a treat for any monkfish lover. For rice dishes, I opted to switch from sakura shrimp rice to sea urchin rice due to personal preference. Dessert served in lacquerware containers could be taken back to our room (I saved treats like madeleines and caramel-salted tarts for post-bath indulgence the next morning). After relaxing in our room post-dinner, we joined bar time at 9:45 PM back at Shiosai where late-night ramen awaited—I chose salt-flavored ramen after some deliberation. On the 9th floor are two private baths: a reclining bath named "Kaze" and an open-air bath called "Kaori." Both have spacious washing areas; while I tried both during my morning soak session, my vote goes to our room's open-air hinoki bath. Breakfast highlights included two standout dishes: pork shabu-shabu dipped in refreshing ponzu sauce wrapped around green onions—and thickly cut dried horse mackerel so flavorful it could accompany three bowls of rice! Other accompaniments were Spanish mackerel sashimi; shrimp furikake seasoning; cod roe; whitebait; tamagoyaki (rolled omelet); plus rich Asaka Kogen eggs perfect for TKG (tamago kake gohan). A notable feature exclusive to guests staying on the 8th floor is access to a well-stocked self-service bar corner offering alcoholic beverages along with light snacks—all available for enjoying freely within your room or elsewhere—a worthwhile perk despite higher accommodation costs! "Kaze no Kaori UMI" left such an impression that I wrote myself a postcard saying “I want to return here again” before mailing it off as motivation for next year’s visit!

    We stayed here for a couples' trip.

    We stayed as a couple for an end-of-year celebration, and as the reviews suggested, it was a truly wonderful accommodation. The building is not brand new, but every area was impeccably clean, and all the staff were very pleasant. Additionally, the breathtaking ocean view could be enjoyed even from the room's private bath. Feeling the cold seasonal breeze on our faces while soaking in the open-air bath was an incredible refreshment for bath lovers. We had prepared ourselves for potential crowding at the top-floor bath based on reviews but managed to use it both at night and in the morning by checking availability and timing our visits accordingly. The meals were also impressive; even from check-in with their carefully selected sweets. While some reviews mentioned that dinner portions felt insufficient, we found them perfect for a middle-aged couple. Each dish was meticulously prepared and delicious, leading us to finish everything—a rare occurrence for us! Moreover, thanks to their all-inclusive service, we enjoyed drinks together from check-in until bar time at night—something unusual since we rarely drink at home except during social gatherings. This made for a refreshing experience and created wonderful memories. On our way home, my husband mentioned wanting to visit again. We’re now planning to return in spring!

    Satisfying Accommodation

    From the early check-in to the farewell at the parking lot, I was deeply impressed by the staff's attentiveness. The hospitality of all staff, including those at the restaurant, was exceptional and made for a very pleasant stay. The meals were plentiful, so much so that I couldn't eat any late-night snacks. It's understandable that meal portions can vary depending on age groups, which can be challenging to balance. Every dish was delicious, and the additional shabu-shabu we ordered was absolutely exquisite. I would love to stay here again in the future!

    I stayed here to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. The all-you-can-drink option, including sake and various other beverages, was excellent. The fish-focused dishes were very delicious, though I did wish for some meat during dinner. The late-night ramen was also tasty. While the exterior is a bit dated, the facilities had everything we needed and were comfortable. The staff were friendly and kind with warm smiles. It became a wonderful memory for us!

    One day is simply not enough, right?

    The reviews were excellent, and I had wanted to stay here for a long time. I finally managed to book a stay due to a cancellation. Opting for the early check-in at 1 PM was the right choice. Starting with a welcome drink in the lounge, I enjoyed the open-air bath on the top floor, the breathtaking sky sauna, beer at an exclusive bar, and some rest in a room with stunning views... then karaoke followed quickly by dinner time before I knew it. Unfortunately, without experiencing the footbath or fish spa treatment yet, it was already time for bed... This is truly an accommodation where one night feels insufficient! Additionally, every staff member—from reception to dining and cleaning—was polite and consistent in their service across different roles. It made me feel that this hotel values high-quality service deeply. Of course, the meals were delicious as well! I want to stay longer next time—and again after that! Highly recommended accommodation.

    Everything is comfortable.

    The location was amazing. Room, lobby, restaurant, private Onsen, rooftop terrace—wherever you were in the Hotel, you could enjoy breathtaking ocean views. The staff were friendly and provided attentive service that made us feel comfortable. It was convenient to check the availability of the private Onsen via smartphone. We enjoyed the popular private Onsen "Kaoru" before breakfast. Opening the bathroom window revealed a stunning view and allowed us to feel the refreshing outdoor air while soaking in the bath—it was perfect. It offered the best of both an open-air bath and an indoor bath experience. The open-air bath in our room was also wonderful; we soaked in it before bed and felt completely relaxed and warm afterward. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, with beautifully presented dishes on elegant tableware. Taking dessert back to our room after dinner added a delightful touch to our stay as we enjoyed more time there comfortably. Amenities were well-stocked too! I’m looking forward to receiving my letter written for myself a year from now! I would love to visit again!

    Accommodation after one year

    Despite visiting after a year, we were warmly welcomed with the words "Welcome back," which made us very happy. This time, we revisited to celebrate my mother's birthday and our wedding anniversary. We chose a room on the top floor, upgraded from our previous stay, and enjoyed the exclusive lounge. My elderly parents also seemed to have a wonderful time. Both the meals and Onsen were absolutely satisfying. I believe that what makes our stay so comfortable is the attentive service and heartfelt hospitality of all the staff members. Thank you for taking care of us during this visit. We would love to come again!

    Girls' Trip

    It was a girls' trip with four classmates. The service was exceptional and attentive. For the two who love drinking, being able to enjoy alcohol anytime and anywhere was a highlight. The short karaoke session was also fun! However, the private bath was often occupied, so we had to constantly check its availability, which was a bit inconvenient. Both the meals and the late-night ramen were delicious!

    It was the best time.

    About 10 days before this stay, I had given up on booking a solo trip due to limited availability, but when a one-night slot opened up, I impulsively made the reservation and stayed. It was an incredibly satisfying experience. After returning home, I wanted to stay again and checked the reservation site. To my surprise, there was availability on my wife's birthday, so I immediately booked it again. This time, the room had a comfortable sofa that was perfect for me after knee surgery and allowed me to enjoy watching TV. During dinner, when the aperitif arrived, I noticed something different—the menu had completely changed from last time! There were dishes like abalone and dobin-mushi. Perhaps they updated their menu? Previously, I couldn't finish everything because of additional orders and missed out on ramen; this time, however, I managed to enjoy it. The weather was great; we could see as far as Chiba during the day. At night though—no moon? We expected to see a moonlit path over the water but realized it was a new moon making it hard to spot. Since it was pitch dark outside even in the private bath with no view difference compared with our room's bath—we opted for relaxation indoors instead. Breakfast also seemed different—mackerel instead of horse mackerel? Could these variations be tailored toward guests staying multiple nights? If so—that thoughtful gesture deserves appreciation! Desserts were delicious too while adorable ducks added charm around property grounds! Lastly big thanks go out smiling staff ensuring wife’s satisfaction throughout entire visit surely leaving us eager return soon future occasions ahead!

    Meals and Open-Air Bath

    The breakfast was very delicious and satisfying, but the dinner portions were small as mentioned in the reviews. The sashimi was too small. The ayu with roe was tasty, but being by the seaside, I wanted to enjoy more seafood. The open-air bath on the 9th floor is not reservation-based, so you just have to wait endlessly. Terrible.

    More than expected

    I stayed for one night and two days. The welcome drink was a delightful surprise! I requested beer, and it was served with several stylish snacks, all of which were delicious. The Room had an open-air bath, and since the view was of the ocean with no roads or private properties nearby, I enjoyed it while listening to the sound of waves. Both dinner and breakfast were explained dish by dish, and everything was incredibly tasty. The bed was Simmons, which my husband found very comfortable. It’s not a very large Hotel, but the attentive service made up for it in every way. The amenities were also much appreciated. In the restroom, there was a sign saying that the washlet is cleaned daily for safe use—something I saw for the first time—and indeed used it without worry (laughs). If I may suggest one improvement: The geta or zori provided within the facility are small in size; considering that some women may have larger feet would be great. Everyone at the Hotel had such a warm demeanor; we even received unexpected souvenirs upon departure! It made our stay truly satisfying. Thank you so much for your hospitality! If we have another chance to visit again, we’d love to return!

    It was the ultimate relaxation time!

    It was my first time spending such a luxurious day inside a Hotel. The staff's attentive and friendly service, along with their warm smiles, was truly comforting. The delicious dinner and breakfast left us completely satisfied. The view of the sea and islands from the Room was so picturesque and soothing to the soul. Above all, soaking in the private open-air bath while listening to the sound of waves and feeling the moonlight created the best relaxation time I’ve ever experienced. It relieved my fatigue, leaving me in a blissful state of calmness. I was also surprised by the availability of Nintendo Switch rentals—what an excellent idea! My wife and I had so much fun playing Mario Party together. This is definitely a Hotel I would love to stay at again from the bottom of my heart. Thank you so much, Luxury Wa Hotel Kazeno Kaori UMI!

    Accommodation for the Best Experience

    From arrival to departure, we were deeply moved by the exceptional hospitality. The welcome drink served with sweets was delicious, and both the private open-air bath in our room and the reserved open-air bath were incredibly clean with stunning views—truly perfect. There was also a karaoke room where I had fun playing scoring games with my partner. At night, the dining area transformed into a bar where we could enjoy drinks while admiring the night view—a truly special experience. For those who love to enjoy alcohol, I highly recommend adding an all-you-can-drink option to your meal plan! Every drink paired wonderfully with the dishes. Breakfast included handmade tofu, which was a delight for tofu lovers like us. My partner and I are already talking about visiting again in summer! It was a trip filled with wonderful memories.     Great accommodation.

    The price range is slightly high, but for those who enjoy alcohol, the service provided is worth more than the cost. Personally, I found it surprising that simmered golden-eye snapper was an optional dish (sashimi was available) despite being a Ryokan in Izu. Instead, dishes like simmered ayu with roe and shark fin were served, but I would have preferred simmered golden-eye snapper even as a fillet option. The private bath offers a stunning view; however, since it’s not reservation-based, you need to constantly monitor its availability, which can be inconvenient. The open-air bath in the room is quite small and uses a circulation system—understandable—but the water temperature was low even though it wasn’t winter, which could be improved. Despite these points, the hospitality of the staff was exceptional and has made me consider revisiting this Ryokan or its sister accommodations.
