    Stays are always as expected.

    At the moment, this is the top choice for a room with an open-air onsen. The downside is that it is becoming increasingly difficult to secure a reservation due to its growing popularity. If there is one point I would like to see improved, it is why the ryokan has an early checkout time when many hotels now offer checkouts at noon or 1 PM. Also, at a hotel like Halekulani, breakfast can be enjoyed freely until 11 AM. Why is the latest breakfast time at a ryokan 9 AM? For those who want to enjoy a leisurely morning on their holiday and are not early risers, the morning schedule at a ryokan can be tough. This time, I checked in after 4 PM the day before and left the ryokan by 11 AM. I only managed to use the onsen once and did not feel like I could "relax." Therefore, I propose that while check-in remains at 3 PM, checkout could be extended to 1 PM, and breakfast could be available until 11 AM. Alternatively, since my purpose is to stay at this ryokan, how about considering a 27-hour stay plan with lunch included the next day, allowing guests to enjoy the onsen before leaving? I believe this could attract even more fans.

    Open-air bath in the Room

    As always, I was very satisfied with the delicious food, hospitality, and pleasant bath. The water in the large public bath was just the right temperature, but the water from the faucet in the semi-open-air bath in the Room was too hot, making it difficult to adjust to a comfortable temperature. I thought it was just right and left the faucet slightly open, but when my husband entered a little later, he said it was boiling hot.

    I have used both Enka no Mori and Hana Ougi.

    We travel to Hakone every year around this time and have stayed at several properties priced between 50,000 to 70,000 yen for two people. Among them, we feel that the comfort and deliciousness of the food here stand out. I will write my impressions of staying at both Enkano Mori and Hanaougi. Building → Enkano Mori feels larger and newer, but this place is also very clean despite being more compact. Both places allow you to walk barefoot inside. Guest Room Open-Air Bath → We stayed on the first floor this time. The open-air bath in the guest room here is open without any blinds, offering a fantastic view. If you don't mind, I recommend the first floor. The trees are lush, so there's no worry about being seen. The guest rooms on the second floor and the open-air baths at Enkano Mori have blinds, so the view was not visible. The size of the baths felt about the same. Large Public Bath → Enkano Mori is overwhelmingly larger here. The indoor bath is about the same size, but the open-air bath feels about five times larger. Enkano Mori had a gender-swapping system, allowing us to enjoy two types of large public baths, but Hanaougi did not. Also, Enkano Mori had a jug of herbal tea placed outside, but Hanaougi did not. It would be great if both could incorporate this. It seemed everyone was using the guest room open-air baths, as we used it around 8 PM and 8 AM the next morning, and no one else was there, making it a private experience. Meals → Both have their merits and cannot be compared. Both properties allowed us to have rice refills during breakfast, but not at dinner. We don't drink alcohol and eat a lot of rice, so it would be nice to have it at night too. After dinner, we took a bath and felt a bit hungry. Unlike the current trend of all-inclusive services, it feels like the minimum service, but that in turn allowed us to relax and enjoy our time. In conclusion, both properties were wonderful. You can't go wrong staying at either. For now, the only properties I want to visit again and recommend to others are this one and Enkano Mori. Thank you. We will use your services again.

    A property that does not disappoint.

    Staff, meals, Onsen, even if I try to find something concerning, nothing comes to mind. The menu changes every month, so I visit once or twice a year, but rather than getting bored, I am overwhelmingly impressed every time.

    I was healed.

    I often visit Hakone, but this was my first stay at Gora Hanaougi. There are many museums in the area, and Gora Park is also nearby, so I chose it for its great location, and it was a great choice. Upon entering the entrance, we were greeted by the warm smiles of the staff. We relaxed with a welcome drink service in a lovely lounge that seemed to mix Japanese and modern styles. Due to the terrain of Hakone, many properties have a lot of steps inside, but here, there were no particular steps from the entrance to the room, so it might be okay even for those with mobility issues. I thought I might invite my parents in their 80s next time. The room is not large, but the water area, closet, and sofa set are arranged in a very user-friendly manner, making it comfortable. The washroom is well-stocked with basic cosmetics, including cleansing products, allowing for generous use. Stepping out onto the terrace from the shower booth, there is an open-air bath where you can soak while gazing at the mountain range. It's blissful. Even though I only stayed one night, I ended up using the open-air bath in the room eight times. My skin is smooth. Both the room and the terrace are kept very clean, allowing for a pleasant time. We took a full two hours to enjoy dinner. The ingredients are abundant, and the creatively prepared dishes are exciting. I was impressed by the chef's ingenuity seen everywhere. My husband ordered four types of sake (each 500ml). The staff brought each type of sake at the timing that matched the dishes, so he was able to thoroughly enjoy both the sake and the food. Thank you very much to the staff for the courteous service. With a first-time stay, there can be some nervousness or slight disappointment, but I didn't feel that way at all at Hanaougi. I truly felt that Hakone is wonderful. I'm sure I will visit again. Please take care of us at that time.

    Fully charged.

    I always look forward to dining here. I could feel the chef's dedication to the ingredients, and the meal was very delicious. I was also pleased with the hospitality of the staff. It was a pity that the kokuto tea was sold out and I couldn't buy it as a souvenir, but I will look forward to it next time.

    It was excellent~

    We stayed in 2 Rooms with a couple of friends. The staff's hospitality and the Room's atmosphere were excellent. We were especially comforted by N-san, who took care of us. The perfect timing of conversations and attentiveness were impressive. My wife and I will visit again. Keep up the good work.

    I was extremely satisfied!

    We stayed here for a trip to celebrate my elderly aunt's birthday. The staff at the inn were very pleasant and kind, allowing us to have a comfortable stay. The food was also wonderful, with beautifully presented dishes that were prepared with great care. The portions were just right, the dishes were cute, and the pace at which they were served was perfect. The bath in the room was also excellent. We stayed in a special room (accommodating up to 5 people), and by closing the roller blinds, you could take a bath even if someone was in the living room. It became a great memory to be able to take a bath with my aunt while looking at the mountains of Hakone. The design is without steps, so it is highly recommended for elderly people. I would definitely like to stay again in another season.

    A trip to celebrate my husband's birthday

    The hot springs and facilities were very good. A slightly disappointing point was that the meal explanation was given by a foreigner, and I couldn't understand what they were saying. I ended up understanding from the explanation I overheard from the next private room, which made me feel somewhat neglected.
