    Exceptional hospitality

    I was able to spend a truly luxurious time surrounded by peaceful, lush greenery. The hospitality was outstanding. The Room and the meals—everything exceeded my expectations. I’d love to visit again in a different season.

    The sound of cicadas is perfect.

    This was my second stay. Last time, I stayed during a snowy season, so this time I was able to relax until dinner and fully enjoy the sight of green trees swaying and the gentle calls of evening cicadas from my clean, refined Room. The meals here are delicious both in the morning and in the evening, with plenty of vegetables. Of course, the fish and meat were also excellent—everything was flawless. Above all, the staff’s smiles were wonderful, and their service was attentive and professional, which made me feel truly happy. I will definitely come back to stay again when I have time. Thank you very much.

    An annual summer trip with friends

    I ended up making a last-minute trip to Sanso Warabino, a place I had been hoping to stay at for a long time. I was traveling from Beppu, and they came to pick me up at the station and also provided Shuttle Service to the restaurant for dinner. During the ride, a polite male staff member kindly answered all of our questions throughout. Warabino had an even larger and more beautiful garden than in the photos, with separate cottages scattered around it, and our Room surrounded by greenery almost made us feel like we were abroad. The main highlight for me—the free-flowing hot spring bath—was spacious, very clean, and I soaked in it countless times (lol). The amenities were simple and well chosen. The refrigerator was stocked with mineral water, beer, and cider. Breakfast was excellent; each dish was delicious, and the grilled barracuda came out moist and perfectly cooked. Afterward we had fruit, homemade yogurt, and coffee—an extremely satisfying breakfast. Everyone we met—the Shuttle Service staff member, the breakfast staff, the foreign staff member at the shop, and the café staff—were all very pleasant. I’d love to visit again if I have the chance!

    I was truly moved.

    I made this Reservation without much research, but it far exceeded my expectations—the level of hospitality was exceptional in every way and something you rarely experience these days. What sets it apart from the typical high-end, expensive (international) Hotel is not only the superb quality of the facilities, but also a space that feels like experiencing art. The thoughtful attention to detail—from the careful pruning of the trees to the staff’s service—left a lasting impression. Perhaps it reflects its roots as a Ryokan, but there was a warm, handmade feel, as if you had a dedicated attendant for your Room—yet never intrusive. It may be something born from living in harmony with Yufuin’s local character. Even the underfloor heating felt perfectly in tune with the flooring materials. Thank you very much.

    I can’t wait to stay here again!

    This was my first stay in Yufuin, and I truly feel I’m glad I chose this Accommodation. In a quiet setting, I was able to relax and unwind. The Room, meals, and Onsen were all just right—nothing to complain about. The comfort of feeling at home combined with the special atmosphere of being on a trip felt wonderful to me. The staff were also great, with just the right level of attentiveness and distance. It was a beautiful season of fresh greenery, and I would love to return in another season as well.

    We stayed again in l...

    We stayed again in late April, when the fresh greenery is at its most beautiful—thank you for taking such good care of us. Recently we have been choosing a Plan that includes having dinner out, and this time as well we were able to spend our stay in great comfort. On the day of our stay, the weather was pleasant with bush warblers singing; the next day was rainy, but the rain-soaked greenery viewed from the open-air bath was incredibly beautiful and truly wonderful. Thanks to you, it felt as though our recent fatigue simply melted away, and we left feeling refreshed in both body and mind.

    Simply the best.

    This was my first stay in Yufuin in decades. After seeing it recommended on this site, I knew I wanted to stay here—thank you. From the moment we arrived, the staff warmly welcomed us and gave a careful explanation during check-in about everything from the Room to the loungewear. Above all, we felt a comforting warmth as soon as we entered—the Room had been heated for us before our arrival. We were truly impressed. We also enjoyed the café, spending tea time at the counter while looking out at Mt. Yufu. Before dinner, we relaxed with a bath and took some time to unwind. Dinner was beautiful to look at and elegantly seasoned; every dish was memorable. The rice cooked in an iron pot and the local specialty “Ryukyu,” served as ochazuke with hot tea—by then we were so full we couldn’t eat another bite. Completely satisfied. Since we were there, we visited the bar at night as well. We only had one drink, but also enjoyed listening to records on a gramophone. The atmosphere was wonderful, and it felt like stepping into an unreal world for a while. Breakfast was delicious too, of course. It was so lovely that I didn’t want to leave. A wonderful Hotel where you can truly enjoy an extraordinary escape.

    Simply the best.

    A quiet place away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The Room was modern and stylish—calm without feeling dark, and even nicer than in the photos. From the bathtub, we could see Mt. Yufu beyond the leafless winter trees. It was freezing cold, but we opened the windows wide and enjoyed the free-flowing natural hot spring water straight from the source. The meals were delicious, and every piece of tableware was something you’d want to take home. The service was pleasant as well; although this Accommodation did not offer Diamond benefits, we were more than satisfied with service that exceeded them. Even though I usually choose an Accommodation based on Reviews but don’t post one myself, I now understand why it’s rated so highly. This is the first Accommodation I didn’t want to leave. I’m glad we chose this place. Thanks to you, it became a wonderful anniversary trip.

    Wonderful Accommodation

    We stayed on a very difficult day when a severe cold wave brought heavy snowfall, but the male staff member was extremely helpful, and we were able to start our journey home safely. Thank you very much for all your support. The Room was also very relaxing, with underfloor heating and free-flowing Onsen. The meals were delicious too!

    A Luxurious Adults-Only Holiday

    It felt like staying at a super-celebrity’s private villa, and we enjoyed a stylish, luxurious time. Everything was so thoughtfully taken care of that it’s hard to sum up in just one word.     This was the best Accommodation I’ve ever stayed at in Yufuin.

    I’ve stayed at many Accommodations in Yufuin, but this was the best one yet. Above all, the entire space felt truly comfortable. The Room, dining area, service and hospitality, and the spring sunlight filtering through the broadleaf deciduous trees on the spacious grounds were all wonderful… After savoring fugu and Ajimu wine, I enjoyed my usual Yufuin routine—stopping by the bar “Stair” near Yufuin Station after dinner—and had an unforgettable time in Yufuin. A changing Yufuin, and an unchanging Yufuin… I’ll definitely choose this Accommodation again next time.

    Mori no Kani-san

    Although it was a bit chilly outside, the room was warm thanks to the underfloor heating, and the spacious bathroom with free-flowing hot spring water from the source made it easy to relax and enjoy a long soak. As it is a separate annex villa, it was quiet and comfortable, and we could stay without worrying about those around us. The food was also very delicious. Next time, I’d like to stay for two or three nights.

    Enjoyed the Onsen from the bottom of my heart!

    It was my first stay, and everything was perfect. Comfortable accommodation, excellent meals, and outstanding service. Despite the very cold weather, the floor heating was pleasant, and the room's onsen with natural flowing hot spring water available anytime was gentle on the skin and provided a delightful bathing experience. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, with beautiful tableware and wine glasses adding to the charm. If I had to nitpick, it would be that there wasn't a clock easily visible in the room or enough mirrors in the living area... However, I feel this might have been intentional to help guests forget about time and enjoy their personal moments without distractions. The thoughtful service while maintaining an appropriate distance was also wonderful. Thank you for your hospitality; I look forward to visiting again in a different season!

    Excellent.

    This is my favorite accommodation that I have been revisiting since my first stay. Each visit never diminishes the sense of wonder; it remains beautiful. The flow of time here feels pure and serene, leaving me with a calm and composed feeling. The location within the property is exceptional, making you want to take a stroll indoors. The seasonal trees, chirping birds, and above all, the grandeur of Mount Yufu seen from here stand out beautifully against the blue sky. The architecture is remarkable, and every detail in the room reflects impeccable taste. The balance in hospitality is perfect, the cuisine is outstanding, and there’s an excellent selection of drinks that adds joy to mealtime. The natural hot spring bath with free-flowing water has just the right temperature and soothing quality that heals both body and mind. What makes me want to return every year is how everything about this place feels perfect—each visit leaves a deep impression on me anew!

    Would visit again.

    A wonderful Hotel away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The staff were lovely, and the meals were served in a calm atmosphere, with breakfast being especially delicious. The BGM during breakfast was fantastic! It matched perfectly with the outdoor scenery, making it even better. (I wonder if they were playing a CD sold at the gift shop? It's a shame I couldn't confirm this with the Hotel staff.) The Onsen in our Room was my first Onsen experience after becoming an Onsen sommelier. Even though it was a simple spring, it was an excellent Onsen. It was a great trip to Yufuin for me and my daughter on our girls' getaway. I would love to visit again in another season!

    An excellent accommodation that won't disappoint.

    Previously used frequently for workcations. Rooms are allocated in individual compartment-style units within the premises. The open-air Onsen at Warabino, with its natural hot spring water flowing directly from the source, offers an exceptional experience while enjoying the outdoor scenery. This time, I visited by private car via Saganoseki after a long time. Before parking, I was warmly welcomed at the front desk and my bags were promptly carried for me. No matter how many times you stay or during any season, the hospitality at Warabino is perfectly comfortable and truly outstanding—filled with kindness that cannot be experienced at other accommodations. For a group of three guests, we stayed in a maisonette-style room equipped with open-air baths on both floors, offering exceptional comfort and spaciousness. Meals were served in a private dining room; for breakfast (BF), we specifically requested seating near the audio set area. It’s such an extraordinary accommodation that it feels like one night is simply not enough to fully enjoy it to your heart's content!

    This is a great accommodation. The room was spacious and comfortable. The view from the semi-open-air bath was not exceptional, but the stay was pleasant. The meals were delicious! Next time, I would like to stay in a room with a view of Mount Yufu.

    This was my first visit. Unfortunately, I wasn't feeling well during dinner, but the staff provided incredibly considerate support. Although I could only eat a little, the meal was absolutely delicious. There was also a minor issue at checkout (caused on my end), but the staff kindly assisted me and resolved it smoothly. Despite causing some inconvenience due to my health condition this time, I would love to visit again. The room's flooring and heating were comfortable, the quiet outdoor atmosphere was refreshing, and all the staff were exceptional in their service—truly an accommodation I'm glad to have stayed at.

    It was a wonderful accommodation!

    We stayed for a multiple night stay as a couple. It was the perfect environment to relax, away from the hustle and bustle near Yufuin Station. Every corner of the property offered picturesque scenery. The staff were all incredibly hospitable, making our stay very comfortable. Thank you. The room was spacious and calming, and being able to enjoy an Onsen with natural hot spring water anytime we wanted was fantastic. It was convenient that dining in loungewear was allowed, but since it was already November, walking outside to the restaurant building with only a short coat for warmth felt challenging. Are longer coats provided during the peak of winter? The meals were made with fresh ingredients, beautifully presented, and delicious! However, for guests staying multiple nights (especially regarding breakfast), it would be nice to see more variety or creativity added.

    We stayed here for the first time to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was our annual anniversary trip, and we chose Warabino, a place we had been curious about for a while. The natural surroundings, the Room, the art, and the meals allowed us to enjoy a slow and relaxing flow of time. The view from the window of the private dining room felt like looking at a piece of art, offering us an incredibly luxurious experience. The open-air bath in our Room provided views of trees and sounds of insects that created an environment where all five senses could be fully indulged—it was truly comfortable. We also purchased original aroma products to use at home, and every time we smell them, it brings back memories of Warabino, which makes us so happy. We would love to visit again!

    It was an absolutely wonderful Ryokan.

    We stayed as a couple and had a wonderful time. It was our first trip to Yufuin, and although it rained that day, making it difficult to explore the town, the time we spent in the room at Sansou Warabino was incredibly relaxing. The Onsen in the room was especially delightful—we wanted to soak in it multiple times a day. Enjoying complimentary canelé while relaxing on the sofa, or sipping drinks at the bar while listening to records and chatting together, became unforgettable memories for us. The staff went above and beyond by accommodating our special requests and recommending delicious nearby restaurants, making our stay truly comfortable. Thank you so much! We look forward to visiting Yufuin again just to stay at Sansou Warabino!

    A Ryokan with exceptional hospitality

    It was a wonderful Ryokan that made me genuinely want to visit again. The atmosphere created by the staff was incredibly pleasant, making it a truly relaxing space. Every detail reflected great taste, and even the way flowers were arranged taught me so much. I found myself wishing to live in such a stylish home someday. Gazing at the greenery from the garden or restaurant allowed me to forget my usual hectic life for a while. The meals were thoughtfully prepared with elegance, both visually delightful and delicious. The fusion of Japanese and Western styles in the menu was perfectly balanced, making me sincerely want to return again. Breakfast had a unique ambiance compared to other places—delicious and healthy. The souvenirs were also stylish, and from start to finish, I became a fan of "Warabino World." I am grateful for this place where I could meet a different version of myself than usual.     I stayed at Warabino after watching it on YouTube, and it was amazing! The accommodation features 13 villas spread across a spacious property surrounded by lush greenery, offering a very comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. The staff's hospitality was excellent, and both the dinner and breakfast were incredibly delicious. If I visit Yufuin again, I would definitely choose to stay at Warabino.

    Would love to visit again.

    I stayed with friends. The accommodation, surrounded by nature, offered a very calm and wonderful environment. Although we had to deal with insects and spiders at times, it was part of the experience and became a good memory. The staff were always very polite, showing their desire for guests to have a comfortable stay. The room was spacious enough for four people to stay comfortably, and the semi-open-air bath along with the gentle and delicious meals truly helped relieve our daily fatigue. However, when we turned on the air conditioner in the room, two of us who have allergies started sneezing uncontrollably. It settled down after a while but made us wonder if the air conditioner needed more cleaning. By bedtime, this issue seemed resolved so it wasn’t much of a problem overall—this would be my only minor complaint. With such stunning views, I’d love to visit again during another season!

    Anniversary

    We stayed at the accommodation for our wedding anniversary. This was probably our fifth stay, and we always choose this place for special occasions. The room was just right, the onsen was excellent, and above all, the meals were outstanding. Not only were the side dishes delicious, but their homemade rice is definitely worth trying. The staff's hospitality was also exceptional. One small concern was about the handwashing area; there seemed to be a constant noise—perhaps from the onsen or something else—which caught my attention a bit... Other than that, everything was perfect! Thank you for taking care of us!

    It was comfortable.

    It was a beautiful accommodation surrounded by greenery. The room was stylish and had a clean design, possibly based on the concept of hidden storage. The view of the trees from the large windows was very soothing. Both the bath and onsen were pleasant, though having only one washing area made it slightly inconvenient. Perhaps intentionally minimal in service, there was little interaction with staff during check-in and check-out, which felt a bit lonely. Next time, I would like to choose a plan that includes meals.
