    It was a comfortable stay.

    After two years, this was my second stay. Last time, I stayed at a different hotel, but this time I chose this accommodation as it felt more comfortable for me. 【Room】I selected a room with a balcony on the 4th floor. The location was excellent; I enjoyed relaxing while admiring the view or reading. Conversations from guests on the neighboring balcony were slightly noticeable, but other than that, there was no noise disturbance from other rooms—it was very quiet. The room layout was bright and practical. Having space to quickly place my jacket and backpack was convenient. 【Amenities】There was a bear bell in the room which I borrowed during my stay. The amenities provided were sufficient for me. 【Dinner】French cuisine with wine pairing upon request each time. The casual atmosphere allowed me to enjoy it without feeling formal or stiff. Both the taste and presentation were delightful—it almost made me forget I was in the mountains! The staff's attentiveness added to the experience as well. 【Breakfast】Western-style breakfast with some Japanese options available—on day one, I chose rice balls; on day two, porridge with pickles included alongside hearty miso soup filled with ingredients unique to this accommodation—delicious! While initially thinking that the rice balls seemed small in size compared to expectations—the main egg dish portion balanced everything perfectly overall! 【Other Notes】Highly recommend checking-in before sightseeing activities since discount tickets can be used at affiliated shops nearby afterward conveniently too! Post-checkout waiting times until bus departures are also enjoyable within their cozy café setting onsite comfortably instead. Looking forward eagerly towards visiting again someday soon hopefully too!

    I had a relaxing stay.

    The room had a unit bath, which was a bit inconvenient, but it might be unavoidable due to the location. The amenities, service, and food were excellent. It was very quiet and relaxing. I would love to stay again if I have the chance.

    Excellent Location, Warm Hospitality Hotel

    The staff provided excellent service, making our stay very pleasant. The food was delicious, and we enjoyed every dish. The view from the balcony was stunning. The location is great; at night, you can hear the soothing sound of the river when the window is open, though in the morning, you might hear some lively chatter!

    Comfortable Stay

    The Room's refrigerator was stocked with free water, tea, and craft beer. I also appreciated the pitcher filled with water and plenty of ice. Enjoying a beer on the terrace while gazing at the lively Kappa Bridge was a blissful moment. Ice packs were available on the floor, and free bottled water was provided, which was very helpful after walking a lot and feeling thirsty. For dinner, while it was disappointing that the appetizer spoon felt too small to scoop properly and the paired white wine didn’t quite match the dishes, the service was smooth, and overall it was satisfying for a high-altitude dining experience. The miso soup with pork served at breakfast was indeed delicious. I bought a rare cheesecake to take home—it was extremely tasty and left me very satisfied. The balance between location and service is excellent; I would love to visit again.

    High-Quality Hotel

    This was my first visit to Kamikochi, and I am truly glad I chose this hotel for my stay. Starting with the upgraded guest room, the quality of the meals, and especially the level of staff service were exceptional. The anniversary service was also very satisfying. Thank you so much. I have stayed at many renowned hotels before, but the balance of attentiveness and quality of staff here is top-notch. I look forward to visiting again next year.

    A prestigious mountain Resort Hotel

    I enjoyed the charm of this prestigious mountain Resort Hotel. The location by Kappa Bridge Lake, the morning and evening views, and the serene interior design left a lasting impression. From being greeted by name upon arrival to being provided with ponchos and umbrellas on rainy days, I felt a warm hospitality focused on guests' needs. I would love to visit again. Although there was no air conditioning in the Room, it was not an issue this time; however, considering global warming, it might become necessary in the future.

    This was the first time my wife and daughter traveled to Kamikochi, and I truly appreciated all the support provided in advance. Both my wife and daughter were deeply impressed by how comfortable and pleasant the Hotel was.     Luxury Hotel near Kappa Bridge

    I stayed on the 3rd floor of the accommodation. The room had a balcony, but unfortunately, due to heavy rain, I couldn't use it. The quiet Kappa Bridge in the early morning was also underwhelming as clouds covered the Hotaka Mountain Range. The room was equipped with a bath and shower, which were refreshing after sweating during a hot Kamikochi hike. Additionally, from this year, a fan has been installed for added comfort. However, there were issues with service quality relative to the cost. During dinner, while pouring wine, towels were placed in water glasses; although effort was evident in the dishes' presentation, their taste fell short. Breakfast took time after ordering—making me think that perhaps a buffet style would be more efficient. It seemed that many seasonal workers or part-time staff were employed in the dining area, which might have contributed to these issues. Considering value for money (cost-performance), there is room for improvement.

    The Prestigious Gosenjaku Hotel

    After nearly 30 years, I visited Kamikochi again. Last time, I stayed at Gosenjaku Lodge (now Park Lodge Kamikochi) and thought, "Next time, I'd like to stay there," referring to Gosenjaku Hotel. This time, my wish finally came true. Although I live in a region where it's not easy to visit Shinshu, Kamikochi is truly amazing. The hotel's service, meals, and facilities were simply outstanding. As mentioned in many other reviews, the apple pie and pork miso soup were absolutely delicious. It was a wonderful gift for my parents celebrating their golden wedding anniversary. Thank you so much!

    A Comfortable Stay

    This was our first time staying here to create memories for our anniversary. Although we didn’t inform the Hotel staff, they quietly celebrated during dinner, and their subtle and kind gestures made us feel very comfortable. It was a stay filled with warm and homely hospitality. We would definitely love to stay at this Hotel again.

    The view is amazing!

    The balcony offers stunning views of Kappa Bridge and the surrounding mountains. The location is very convenient for getting around. The food is delicious. Personally, the nighttime nature guide was a mystical experience, with beautiful starry skies—highly recommended!

    The hospitality is excellent!

    The view from the Room and restaurant was excellent as it is right in front of Kappa Bridge. The food was delicious, and I was delighted to find non-alcoholic wine pairings available. Even without drinking alcohol, I could enjoy the perfect pairing with the dishes. Above all, the staff's service was exceptional; every member provided outstanding hospitality. I would love to stay here again when visiting Kamikochi. Thank you very much! As I only used the indoor bath, I am giving it a 3-star rating for that aspect.

    The location and service were excellent, making for a very comfortable stay. While the price is somewhat high, it was worth the satisfaction. This is a wonderful Hotel I would definitely choose again when revisiting Kamikochi.

    Everything is wonderful.

    I visited for my husband's birthday. Everything was beyond imagination and absolutely wonderful. I will definitely come again! The staff's hospitality was exceptional. From the location, meals, bath, amenities, to the Room facilities—everything was perfect. The compact size of the Facility added to its charm and made it truly enjoyable. It became a great memory for us. Thank you very much!

    I stayed at the long-admired Gosenjaku Hotel. Thank you for the upgrade this time. The room was clean, and the service was excellent. I would love to stay again.

    Established Hotel

    (Hotel & Services) Although the hotel is aged, it has a charming atmosphere. Receiving coupons for the attached restaurant and nearby shops was a nice touch. (Meals) The meals were excellent, but I felt it was inappropriate to clear the dishes immediately after finishing. (Room) Given its location in Kamikochi, there is no air conditioning, but considering recent heatwaves and climate changes, perhaps providing at least a fan in the room would be a good idea. (Public Bath) The quality of the hairdryer was poor. It had weak airflow yet became excessively hot. Considering that the accommodation cost is not inexpensive, upgrading to better hairdryers might be worth considering.

    We stayed for two nights and were pleasantly surprised at check-in when we were told, "Since there was availability today, we have upgraded you to a Room with views of the Azusa River and Kappa Bridge." The French dinner was very creative and had a gentle flavor that left us completely satisfied. The egg dish at breakfast was also delicious, but the pork miso soup stood out as exceptionally tasty with its mild flavor. Perhaps it reflects the chef's personality. Although we didn’t try the curry in the restaurant, we bought some packaged curry from the souvenir shop next door and found it incredibly delicious. Of course, our Room was clean and comfortable. The large public bath (which I used right after returning from hiking around 3 PM) was refreshing and relieved all my fatigue. The staff were kind and attentive, making this stay truly satisfying.

    Three glasses of wine pairing

    It was disappointing, especially because I had high expectations. The overall tone of the staff's service felt insincere. I ordered a wine pairing with three glasses (8,000 yen) for dinner, but only received two glasses. Despite there being only two glasses on the table, I was asked to confirm that I had ordered the pairing. I dined alone (male), and the person next to me also seemed to be dining alone (female). Being seated so close together made for an uncomfortable experience. Since we started dining at the same time, our dishes were served and explained almost simultaneously, which felt more like a hospital meal service than fine dining. The woman next to me ate part of her main dish and left midway through her meal. The toothbrush provided as an amenity was wooden, which made my mouth feel rough while using it. It would be better if guests could choose between wooden or plastic toothbrushes for their comfort.

    I took my 89-year-old mother to her favorite place in Japan, Kamikochi. The meals were delicious, the staff's hospitality was excellent, and my mother enjoyed gazing at the Hotaka Mountain Range from the Room. She said it felt like being in heaven.     The service is excellent.

    I had a great stay at this hotel during my first visit to Kamikochi. The staff, though mostly young, were incredibly attentive and made my stay very pleasant. For example, when I handed over my luggage before check-in and showed the reception ticket for the nearby Gosenjaku Kitchen, they kindly informed me that I could charge the payment to my room. Additionally, when I mentioned during checkout that I planned to explore a bit more before having beef stew for lunch at the hotel's first-floor lounge, they offered to reserve it for me since it's limited in quantity. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and as expected from its reputation, the cheesecake at the first-floor lounge was truly amazing—I ended up having it two days in a row! Even when the lounge was crowded, they guided us to seats reserved exclusively for guests staying at the accommodation, which was very thoughtful. I would love to visit Kamikochi again in another season and would definitely choose this hotel for my stay next time as well.

    Excellent.

    I stayed for two consecutive years, and it's a hotel that makes you fall in love with Kamikochi. Stargazing is truly enjoyable. When I remember the view of Kappa Bridge from the room, it makes me nostalgic and want to visit again.

    A Blissful Stay

    I stayed at the Gosenjaku Hotel for the first time. From check-in to check-out, the staff's smiles and attentive care were wonderful. Beautiful scenery and delicious food. It was a blissful stay that healed both body and mind. Kamikochi is amazing no matter how many times you visit. I think I'll choose the Gosenjaku Hotel as my accommodation next time as well. (Thank you very much to all the staff for taking great care of us.)

    I traveled alone.

    This hotel offers the perfect location with a stunning view of Kappa Bridge from both the room and the restaurant. The hospitality was impeccable, and I was pleasantly surprised and touched when they addressed me by name during dinner. The meals were also very delicious. Although I was in Kamikochi, my slightly impaired leg made it a bit difficult to navigate some stairs, and the bath felt a bit cramped, which led me to lower the score for the bath and facilities. I apologize for that. The next day, after checking out, the weather turned a bit unfavorable, so I cut my walk short and returned. I was grateful to be able to enjoy apple pie in the lounge without waiting, thanks to the guest privilege. Although it was a short stay, I thoroughly enjoyed Kamikochi. I would love to visit again for relaxation, so please keep a room available for solo travelers. Thank you for your hospitality.

    The bath is small and the step from the washroom to the Room is dangerous.

    I was satisfied with everything, but unfortunately, the bathroom in the Room on the first floor was smaller compared to the third floor, and the passage from the washroom to the Room had a step, which almost caused my father to trip several times. I thought it was very dangerous, especially at night. These two points were disappointing. In particular, the step could lead to accidents, so I think it should be repaired urgently.

    A resort hotel with a spectacular view

    I visited Kamikochi for the first time in 50 years. Although rain was forecasted, the weather gradually improved upon our arrival, and the next day we were blessed with beautiful weather and stunning views. The nearby strolls were enhanced by the beginning of the autumn foliage, with the contrast against the clear stream of the Azusa River being magnificent, bringing back fond memories. At the hotel, the staff's kind and courteous service was heartwarming, allowing us to enjoy a pleasant time. While it may be impossible to return in another 50 years, I hope to visit again if possible. Thank you very much.

    A neat mountain lodge

    I thought it was a historic, long-established luxury hotel and went with a certain level of service in mind, but it seems I was mistaken. The room was a very ordinary Western-style room, the large public bath was so small that it was hard to call it "large," and the meals were not particularly surprising. They were just ordinarily delicious. There is a sense of cleanliness, but I think that is the minimum requirement for an accommodation facility. What particularly caught my attention was the customer service of the staff, who all seemed quite young and gave the impression of being in training. It was really disappointing, especially since it's not such a cheap hotel. However, there were people around using it to celebrate anniversaries or birthdays (I saw a scene where a cake was brought during a meal), so maybe I just had too high expectations.

    I stayed for the first time. I chose this hotel because I wanted to stay at a hotel in Kamikochi and take a walk, and I was fully satisfied. The dinner portions were large for us as a couple, and we ended up leaving the last main dish (meat). The breakfast, featuring the famous pork miso soup and porridge, was very delicious, and I thought the free drink selection of juices was nice. I had requested a birthday celebration for my wife, and there was a message on the shortcake plate, and they also sang a song to celebrate, for which I am very grateful. It became a very good memory. I would like to visit again when staying in Kamikochi.
