It was amazing!
We stayed as a group of four—my elderly parents, my sibling, and me—who usually live apart. My parents were especially pleased with the heartfelt hospitality. The meals were excellent; I particularly enjoyed the dessert. We will visit again.

Outstanding hospitality
The Facility is old, but the hospitality is excellent. They provide attentive support tailored to what guests need.

Everything was perfect except for the in-room bath.
Everything was truly perfect except for the in-room Onsen. A spotless Room with thorough cleaning—no dust at all. All the staff were pleasant, there was an observation lounge with a great view of Mt. Fuji, and in the lobby you can enjoy unlimited drinks and snacks. The buffet offered a wide variety of dishes and was quickly replenished whenever items ran low. They will also make any alcoholic drink you request. It would have been perfect if we had stayed in a Room without a bath. As for the bath in this Room, when you open the door, the first thing you notice is a strong musty mold smell—like opening an old calligraphy set. And as shown in the photos, there is extensive mold. Are different people responsible for cleaning the Room and the bath? For a weekday stay costing nearly 70,000 yen, this was very disappointing.

An outstanding Accommodation in both facilities and service.
I made a Reservation because the appeal was that this Hotel offers views of Mt. Fuji. And indeed, Mt. Fuji was a spectacular sight. Lake Kawaguchi was right in front of us as well—the location was absolutely outstanding. The Room was spacious and nicely renovated, so we had a very comfortable stay. We booked a Room with a “view bath,” and it was so large it almost felt like a waste to have such an amazing bath all to ourselves. However, our reserved Room was on the 7th floor of the West Wing, while the entrance, lobby, shop, and dining venue are all in the East Wing—so going back and forth to the East Wing every time was quite inconvenient (one family member even got lost on the way back from the public bath). For meals, at our child’s request we chose buffet-style dinner and breakfast, but they didn’t feel particularly distinctive—just average overall. That said, the freshly cooked steak and wakasagi (Japanese smelt) from the live kitchen at dinner were incredibly delicious! All staff were almost overly polite and took great care of us. Since this is an Accommodation around Mt. Fuji that is very popular with international guests as well, the Accommodation Fee is high—but it’s a Hotel we were very satisfied with!

The service is attentive, and the buffet food is very delicious.
While the exterior has a retro Showa-era feel, the interior has been thoroughly renovated. We checked in in a relaxed lounge setting while receiving an explanation, chose our yukata and amenities, and were shown to a Mt. Fuji–view Room on the 7th floor of the West Wing. It was a clean guest Room with a huge Mt. Fuji view right in front of us—truly luxurious. There were four adults, and we also used the sofa bed, but we slept well. The buffet at the 7th-floor restaurant offered outstanding views of Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi, allowing us to take our time, and it was impressive how delicious each dish was at both dinner and breakfast. Alcohol is included. The wagyu steak, sausages, sushi, dessert breads, and more were excellent. All staff members—from younger employees to veterans—were very well trained, and their hospitality felt like that of a long-established hotel; it was truly comfortable. I’d love to stay again when I visit Lake Kawaguchi next time.

First Stay at Fuji Lake Hotel
The sauna mist in the bathroom did not have a 12-minute timer installed. A 12-minute timer is an essential tool for guests to measure their sauna stay time. Without it, guests cannot know how long they have stayed. The argument "there is a 5-minute hourglass" does not suffice. The 5-minute hourglass can only measure time for one person, and when you inform guests that the sauna can accommodate up to two people, how is the second guest supposed to measure their stay time? Additionally, since the sand in the hourglass was gray, even for the first user, it was difficult to visually confirm how much sand had fallen due to the mist inside. The handwashing sink in the room is too low. What height of person was this designed for? Considering that international guests are increasing, raising it by at least 10 cm would be appreciated. While modifying building structures may be costly, it is inconvenient as users need to bend down significantly. The meals were very satisfying with a wide variety of dishes served at appropriate temperatures.

I was looking for an accommodation where I could see Mt. Fuji from an open-air bath room and found this place. Thanks to that, I had a perfect view of Mt. Fuji both from the room and the indoor open-air bath, which was amazing. I would love to stay again in a different season next time. The meals were buffet-style for both dinner and breakfast, with a wide variety and delicious taste. The location is also great, making it a highly recommended hotel.

Mount Fuji
I chose this accommodation to see Mount Fuji towering under the clear sky. Unfortunately, the weather was not favorable, and I couldn't see it, but I plan to try again at the same hotel next year. It was a comfortable hotel.

Used for birthday celebrations
The room and private bath were as wonderful as expected. Thanks to the favorable weather, we enjoyed the anticipated view from the room, and the early morning private bath offered an incredible scenery. However, there were some disappointing points regarding cleanliness and preparation: - A used hairbrush was left in the bathroom of the guest room. - There was no memo pad next to the phone (perhaps it was not replenished). - The private bath lacked a bath mat, which a staff member kindly fetched for us. For meals, we chose a Japanese course called "Red Fuji," which exceeded our expectations in taste. With limited seating at the counter, it provided a very calm dining experience. The chef was friendly and shared various stories about ingredients and sourcing, making our meal time truly enjoyable. As this stay was for a birthday celebration, we received a gift from the Hotel as part of their congratulations—a memorable gesture that made us very happy. During check-in, room guidance, and private bath orientation, different staff members assisted us each time; all were extremely polite and ensured excellent hospitality throughout our stay. While cleanliness fell slightly short considering that we stayed in a View Bath Suite Room, overall satisfaction remains high. We would love to visit again!

Rooms with open-air baths are excellent.
During check-in, tea snacks and drink service are available in the lounge. You can take them to your Room as mentioned, but when I went after dinner, some drinks were available, but the tea snacks were gone. Since I went straight to my Room after check-in thinking I could get them later, I missed out on the snacks. It might be better to relax in the lounge first before heading to your Room. The Room is very spacious and clean. The bed is firm but did not cause any back pain the next morning. The open-air bath was slightly hot but very pleasant, so I didn’t use the large public bath. My Room faced Lake Kawaguchi, and watching the sunrise gradually light up the mountains with autumn leaves was stunningly beautiful. Both breakfast and dinner were buffet-style Plans. While there weren’t particularly elaborate dishes, there was a wide variety of options that were delicious. The spare ribs and tempura are highly recommended. Alcohol is all-you-can-drink at night; however, sparkling wine was left open without bubbles—perhaps it depends on timing? There are two types of red wine that are mild in flavor. For beer lovers, there’s a draft beer server available. Dining with views of Mt.Fuji or Lake Kawaguchi feels wonderful. The staff members were very friendly and made for a satisfying stay overall.

I would love to visit again.
We traveled with my wheelchair-bound mother and three siblings. Looking for a place not too far from our home in Kanagawa Prefecture where my mother could enjoy an Onsen while staying in her wheelchair, we found this Hotel. For dinner, we chose to dine at Akafuji, where the artistic presentation and delicious food paired perfectly with drinks. We were deeply touched by the thoughtful gesture of cutting the ingredients into smaller pieces for my mother. The view of Mt. Fuji was stunning, and with the autumn leaves just starting to turn, we enjoyed breathtaking scenery as well. Thank you very much!

Stunning views of Mount Fuji
The top floor of the East Wing features an observation lounge where you can enjoy stunning views of Mount Fuji with the lake as a backdrop. Meals are served in a banquet hall on the 7th floor of the West Wing, which is used as a restaurant, offering all dishes and drinks, including alcoholic beverages, in buffet style. Steaks and sushi are carefully prepared on-site by chefs, providing a high-quality and refined dining experience. With its wide variety of dishes, this Hotel is perfect for families.

The hotel was very accommodating for individuals with physical disabilities. The staff were also courteous and attentive. Above all, even with limited information regarding physical disabilities, the consideration provided was exceptional. The facility was well-equipped with amenities designed for individuals with physical disabilities. I would love to visit again.

Your perspective on buffets will change.
Due to a sudden reservation, we stayed at a different family-friendly hotel this time. Although I was initially worried about the buffet-style meals, they turned out to be absolutely satisfying. My concern with buffets was that mass production often compromises taste, but the quality of meals provided by Fuji Lake Hotel was exceptional. The food was fresh, there were no shortages of dishes, and everything tasted amazing. Additionally, the foreign staff members were attentive and assisted customers in need with great care. Despite my initial hesitation about buffets due to the increase in international visitors, this experience turned into an outstanding meal. Thank you very much!

We had a wonderful time.
The Room was spacious, barrier-free, and comfortable, allowing for a pleasant stay. The meals were served buffet-style with a wide variety of options and were very delicious. There was also a great selection of beverages, including alcohol, and I enjoyed the local wine. The staff were friendly, kind, and provided attentive service. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate this time, so I couldn't see Mount Fuji; however, I hope to visit again someday for another chance!

Stay comfortably in a barrier-free Room
We enjoyed a comfortable 3-night, 4-day stay in a barrier-free room with my husband, who has mobility issues. A wheelchair-accessible shuttle service was provided from Kawaguchiko Station. During our stay, we also made use of the rental care equipment available. The room offered stunning views of Mt. Fuji every day. We also enjoyed Kawaguchiko by strolling with a wheelchair to the lakeside terrace daily. For three days, we had in-room dining for dinner, featuring seasonal main dishes that changed each evening, paired with delicious drinks at a relaxed pace. The hospitality and support from the staff were greatly appreciated. This visit confirmed that there is plenty to enjoy within the facility without needing to go out. Thank you very much for your excellent service during our stay! We look forward to visiting again to admire Mt. Fuji and Kawaguchiko's winter scenery!

IKYU Benefits - Disappointing
Second visit, shocked when guided to the Room, despite trusting IKYU's benefits, there was no special attention, though the atmosphere was nice. Will try again with an upgraded level.

I would love to stay here again.
Check-in procedures were conducted while seated in the lounge, which immediately gave a sense of being warmly welcomed. Drinks and snacks in the lounge were available freely within the designated time, though it was a bit disappointing that the snacks were cleared away quickly. Before heading to the room, each guest received a bottle of Mt. Fuji water. The room was on the lake side and absolutely lovely, instantly lifting our spirits. Although the bath wasn't very spacious, it was not crowded, allowing for a relaxing experience that left us satisfied. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style; dinner offered an overwhelming variety of dishes, all delicious. The all-you-can-drink option during dinner had plenty of choices and was highly satisfying. Though limited to 90 minutes, staff kindly mentioned that they wouldn’t rush us and encouraged us to enjoy at our own pace until we were full—this thoughtful gesture allowed for a leisurely dining experience. This accommodation ranks among one of the most satisfying hotels I have ever stayed at!

It's a pity you can't see both Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi at the same time, but the atmosphere is wonderful!
Located by the shores of Lake Kawaguchi, this accommodation offers breathtaking views and a long-standing history. The hot springs are amazing! The night view of Lake Kawaguchi is also wonderful!

- The indoor Onsen, available anytime, was spacious and kept very clean, which was excellent. However, the room door was thin, and when there were many tourists, hallway noise could be heard until late at night (due to the sliding design accommodating wheelchair users). - The staff who welcomed us in the lobby provided exceptional service (e.g., placing a traffic cone in our parking spot during outings). On the other hand, during meals, some staff repeatedly asked for our room number every time we returned from the restroom, which was disappointing (what is the purpose of meal cards?). - While I frequently saw staff cleaning common areas diligently, large groups of tourists quickly made them messy. It might be better to encourage guests to follow proper manners (e.g., leaving water running in restrooms or scattering used and new cotton swabs around the bath area).

Enjoyed sightseeing at Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi along with a pleasant Hotel stay.
We stayed for two nights with a family of four, including children, with breakfast and dinner included. The view of Mount Fuji from the restaurant windows was stunning and truly uplifting (weather permitting). The buffet offered a wide variety of dishes, and we never got tired of it even after two days. We enjoyed signature items like sushi, sashimi, steak, and tempura as well as drinks and desserts. Local Yamanashi wine and sake were particularly delightful. The croissants from Pan Daniel served at breakfast were exceptional; we even visited their store across the Hotel for lunch because they were so delicious. The Onsen was not very large but clean and relaxing. Our Room in the West Wing was a standard Japanese-Western style room with a spacious window overlooking Lake Kawaguchi. The desk by the window was large enough for our children to use for studying. Although small, the pool had a jacuzzi that thrilled our kids. The staff provided excellent service, making our stay truly enjoyable. We would love to visit again—thank you!

Highly Satisfied!!
Stayed as a family of four (including one 6th grader). The Room was a Comfort type with an open-air bath (Japanese-Western style), and having the open-air bath was absolutely amazing! It was convenient and very enjoyable. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style, and both were delicious. We would love to stay again!!

A satisfying Hotel.
Unfortunately, the summit of Mt. Fuji was obscured by clouds, but the service, facilities, Onsen, and meals were all satisfactory. The satisfaction rating is 4 because I felt that this level of quality should be expected at this price. If possible, I would like to stay again in April or May when the weather is good and snow still remains on Mt. Fuji.

Family of 3
Room with open-air bath and "Red Fuji" dinner selected. While the building is not new, it has been well-maintained with repairs and renovations, ensuring no discomfort at all. In fact, the interior design was tasteful, creating a pleasant atmosphere. The sound quality in the lobby was impressive. The "Red Fuji" dinner was exceptional. Both the chef's dishes and conversation were delightful. Even if Mount Fuji isn't visible, dining with "Red Fuji" will surely leave you satisfied.

Relaxing Getaway for Couples
A fantastic location with views of both Lake Kawaguchi and Mount Fuji, complemented by a lovely private garden. The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were delicious, and the free-flow beer from the free drink service was excellent.

I was impressed by the amazing view!
The breathtaking view of Lake Kawaguchi from the breakfast venue on the 7th floor was truly refreshing and soothing. I stayed at this accommodation for the Berlin Philharmonic concert held at Stella Theater the previous day. There were a few German guests in the breakfast venue, and I’m sure that stunning scenery must have eased their travel fatigue. The staff were friendly, and having a room with an open-air bath made my stay very relaxing.

Great value for money.
We stayed as a couple. The buffet-style dining with a 90-minute all-you-can-drink option offers great value for money. The food was delicious. We used a lakeside table, but the air conditioning was quite strong. It made sense that blankets were prepared at the entrance for this reason. The bath was convenient as the shower did not stop automatically after a certain time, making it stress-free to use. The mist sauna was also enjoyable. The Room had a raised tatami-style area and was very comfortable and satisfying to stay in. Breakfast was also satisfying. Although unrelated to the Hotel, the area around Lake Kawaguchi was full of foreign tourists as expected, and we saw many cyclists too. Be cautious when driving in this area!

Please provide the text you would like me to review and translate.
I stayed in a room with a private bath at the Lake Hotel's Fuji View accommodation, priced at over 30,000 yen per person. Perhaps because I had stayed at an international hotel in Okinawa just days before, I honestly felt that the experience did not match the price. I stay at hotels and ryokans about 15 times a year, but this was the first time I felt it was not worth the cost. The staff at the entrance and lobby were chatting among themselves in small groups and lacked smiles or warmth. While the historic building had a sense of cleanliness, both the room and its toilet smelled unpleasant, and amenities were comparable to those of an inexpensive business hotel. Although Mount Fuji could be seen when opening the door, there were cobwebs present. Regarding meals, while I enjoyed the meat dishes, seating was unassigned; there were no placemats or cutlery sets provided. Guests had to take chopsticks and wet towels from a communal area like in a business hotel. Honestly speaking, 15,000 yen per person would seem more appropriate for this experience. I will not be returning. A review of pricing or service improvements is necessary.
