    Very satisfied. Especially the Onsen is as wonderful as its reputation.

    Satisfied with everything: rooms, service, onsen, facility, and meals. The onsen, in particular, was as wonderful as its reputation suggests. The meal service was handled by a foreign staff member, who was kind and very pleasant. The property is located deep in the mountains. In times when there were no cars and roads or tunnels were not developed, reaching that place must have been difficult. Even so, for over 1000 years, many people, including renowned warlords like Takeda Shingen, have visited seeking the waters, so the benefits of the onsen must indeed be remarkable. The road to the property has a very high volume of large dump trucks, so caution is needed when driving.

    Wonderful hospitality at a property deep in the mountains

    After a one-hour ride on the shuttle service, we arrived at the property where the staff, like a butler, immediately recognized our names and escorted us directly to our room. It was an excellent display of hospitality. The open-air baths and private baths were clean, and with not too many guest rooms relative to its size, it was never crowded, allowing us to leisurely enjoy the onsen. The meals were not overly elaborate; we enjoyed gently flavored simmered dishes and delicious meat grilled on hot stones. The room's bath and drinking water were also from the onsen, and there were two types of tea sweets for us to enjoy.

    Hidden gem

    There were many dump trucks passing by on the narrow mountain road, and I was anxious about when I would arrive, but I finally made it. There was a supreme space that could only be obtained by taking the time to get there. It was truly a breathtaking view worthy of being called a hidden gem. I was greatly soothed by the quality and number of hot springs, their fragrance, and the sound of the river. The age of the facility is undeniable, but there are many things that surpass it. This time it was a one-night stay, but it was a wonderful inn that made me want to visit again for two nights or more. Please be careful with the access information on Ikkyu.
