    Onsen & Bath

    The outdoor and indoor Onsen baths felt a bit small. Also, it would be better to have more washing stations. Please provide ReFa hair dryers in the changing room.

    Escape to the cool b...

    Escape to the cool breeze of Lake Megami. Dinner features a traditional Japanese kaiseki meal, with three beautifully crafted courses full of rich flavors—absolutely delicious. My husband enjoyed local sake and was thoroughly satisfied. Breakfast is a buffet with fresh vegetables and smooth soba noodles. The onsen left our skin feeling soft and refreshed—truly relaxing. Although the weather brought some mist, preventing us from stargazing, we had a peaceful time together. The scenery and air here are incredible—we would love to visit again!

    Delicious meals

    Before the pandemic, I frequently stayed here, mainly as a base for mountain climbing. The Japanese cuisine was always incredibly delicious. Occasionally, I would request seconds of a particular dish I especially enjoyed. If ingredients were available, they kindly accommodated my requests (though there were times when they had to decline due to limited supplies). This time, after a long while, I noticed that the head chef's name on the menu had changed. I worried that the change might affect the taste of the dishes and felt a bit disappointed... but then... when the food arrived and I tasted it—wow! This is delicious! And this one too! Every dish was absolutely amazing! So now, my evaluation of the current head chef is top-notch. I'll definitely visit again!

    Ideal for Sightseeing

    The Hotel was a perfect base for sightseeing. Breakfast and Japanese cuisine were excellent. French cuisine was average this time, though it was impressive during my previous stay. The Room being old is understandable. It was comfortable even without air conditioning.

    A Hotel with an Onsen to Relax in the Heart of the Forest

    Although it is a bit away from the center of Tateshina, this creates a secluded and tranquil atmosphere. The open-air Onsen has a simple design, but you can enjoy soaking in what feels like a hidden bath in the forest while overlooking Lake Megami, which I absolutely love. The kitchen is equipped not only with a microwave and stove but also with a rice cooker, making it suitable for long-term stays. While the building shows its age, it is well-maintained and kept clean. However, given how particularly hot this summer has been, the lack of air conditioning could be seen as a drawback. It would be nice to have at least powerful ventilation fans to bring in cool outdoor air. Additionally, enhancing security measures would provide greater peace of mind.

    Meals

    Amid rising accommodation costs, I was satisfied to enjoy a French course meal at this price. I chose a condominium building for the room based on the price, and the room was spacious and comfortable. If I had to mention a downside, the overall property is large, so the room was too far from the lobby, which was slightly inconvenient.

    Disappointing!!

    Disappointed!! I booked this accommodation to celebrate my husband's birthday... I wrote about it in the comment section when completing the reservation. I was secretly hoping for something like a dessert plate with a message. But there was absolutely nothing! Not even a single word of celebration! Do the hotel staff even read the comment section??

    It was great.

    The building is a large Resort Hotel located in Tateshina. Though slightly old, the rooms are well-maintained and impeccably clean. The highlight is undoubtedly the delicious food. Being a buffet, we didn’t expect much in terms of quality, but it exceeded our expectations in the best way possible. No corners were cut at all—it was so good that we couldn’t help but wonder how they manage to make a profit!

    It was great.

    We stayed as a family of three during Golden Week. Our elementary school-aged son usually struggles with ryokan cuisine, so we often choose hotel buffet plans. However, the restaurant here was just the right size, making it easy to access the food, and everything was delicious. The onion soup and pot-au-feu were especially impressive, tasting far beyond typical buffet standards. There were also kid-friendly staples like fries, ice cream, and udon noodles that made our son very happy. The bath wasn't particularly large but offered a view of Lake Megami from the open-air bath, with a refreshing breeze adding to the comfort. The room was spacious and allowed us to relax fully. We happened upon a stargazing event in the evening and decided to join. The stars were stunningly beautiful, and thanks to an informative explanation provided during the event, our child was thrilled to identify constellations he had learned about in school while looking at the night sky. While Lake Megami isn't as well-known as Lake Shirakaba, the view from this hotel is spectacular. Even during Golden Week, it wasn’t overly crowded. The next day we enjoyed activities near the lakeside such as mini-golfing, boating, and tennis. Considering its price point, this hotel offers excellent value for money. It’s a wonderful place we’d love to visit again!

    The Hotel staff provided excellent service!

    I stayed for a two-night, three-day trip. On the first evening, I enjoyed a Japanese Kaiseki dinner, and on the second evening, I had French cuisine. In the mornings, I relished the delicious buffet meals. The Hotel staff were very attentive and made my stay pleasant. Thank you!

    I was charged money but refused the issuance of a Receipt.

    I used it as a pre-stay for the ice drive on Lake Megami after several years. This is my second time using it, but... I was refused the issuance of a Receipt at checkout. It's a bit confusing... If the billing system is outsourced, they should properly communicate how to issue Receipts.

    The stars are beautiful.

    The Room is quite aged as the Facility is old. The Room I stayed in also felt old, but it was very spacious and comfortable. However, it seems they are gradually renovating, so I look forward to the future. Dinner felt like kaiseki cuisine at an ordinary Japanese restaurant. Breakfast was buffet-style, and it was nice to enjoy Shinshu specialties in a clean venue. The open-air bath in the large public bath was pleasant. Based on just these, it would be about three stars, but the stargazing event at night was incredibly good! It was worth staying just for that. Thank you very much.

    The room was clean and the meals were satisfactory.

    It is a large Hotel standing by the shores of Lake Megami. The Room is clean, and the bathroom and other water facilities are well-maintained with no issues. We enjoyed a delicious French dinner. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of menu options to enjoy. Drinks during dinner can be ordered via smartphone, and payment can be made through smartphone payment or at the register. Don't forget to bring your credit card.

    I used it for the first time.

    Since it was my first time using it, it is located near Megami Lake. It has an open atmosphere, and it would be even more wonderful during the autumn foliage season. The meals were all gentle-tasting dishes and were delicious.

    The room was spacious and the hot spring was nice.

    The room being spacious is a plus. The large public bath is simple but sufficient, which was appreciated after returning from hiking. I think the cost performance is good. However, it was disappointing that the washlet was broken and unusable. It might be inevitable due to its age. The surroundings are quiet, and the 1.8 km walk around Megami Lake is recommended for a morning stroll. The breakfast was average, but the salad was fresh. Next time, I will check the washlet first.

    I was able to spend a relaxing time near Megami Lake. The vending machine at the hot spring was out of order, so I wish they had informed us of this at the front desk. After bathing, they suggested going to the shop, but since I couldn't go in my yukata, I called and had them bring it to my room.

    I was able to stay very comfortably.

    The view from the window was absolutely wonderful, allowing me to relax and unwind from everyday life. I also enjoyed a leisurely breakfast and was very satisfied. Thank you very much. It was an inn that makes me want to visit again.
