    A Small Luxury Hotel 30 Minutes from Yokohama

    Last summer, after renting a nearby vacation home and visiting Morito Beach, we discovered SCAPES THE SUITE. We made a Reservation because we were drawn to the easy beach access and the property’s atmosphere, and we had been looking forward to our stay. Thanks to you, we were able to enjoy the sea with our family, including our two young daughters. We used the pick-up and drop-off service from Zushi Station, and being greeted by a classic Cedric taxi instantly set a resort mood. We arrived a little early and planned to wait in the lobby, but perhaps because of my IKYU Diamond membership, we were shown to our Room right away. It was the twin “Mandarin Orange.” It felt more spacious than expected, with the Shonan sea right in front of us and Enoshima clearly visible at all times. Due to the weather we only caught a faint glimpse of Mt. Fuji for a moment, but having the ocean always in view was truly soothing. After the concierge kindly showed us around the Room, they helped arrange our one-hour private jacuzzi time (per Room) as well as breakfast time. We were worried about an approaching typhoon, but fortunately it took a course that didn’t affect us much—so we even enjoyed occasional sunshine. Our daughters’ family was able to swim several times, while we grandparents stayed in the Room caring for our 7-month-old grandchild. It was wonderfully relaxing. With children aged three and zero with us, we ate out for dinner; however, the Hotel restaurant also looked very appealing. This time we only had breakfast and lunch here, but next time we would love to try dinner as well. No matter where you look from within this property—the balcony or even from the jacuzzi—the view of the sea never gets old. That scenery itself felt like your greatest hospitality. We also strongly felt how much everyone working there loves Hayama—and loves this Hotel. The pride and care of both the concierge team and those serving at breakfast/the restaurant really came through. We were also delighted by your gift: Genbei’s famous beach sandals. You coordinated sizes and colors for each family member perfectly—our daughters’ family was thrilled. Finally, after receiving an outstanding carrot dressing as well, we headed home feeling refreshed. Not only in summer but in any season, SCAPES is a place where you can truly relax—and we would love to return again. Thank you very much to everyone at the Hotel.

    It’s a wonderful Hotel.

    I stay around Hayama every summer, but this was my first time here. It is a wonderful Hotel, far nicer than you would imagine from its modest exterior in a residential neighborhood. The Room is modern and relaxing. The ocean view from the Room is also outstanding, and all the staff were young and provided pleasant service, which left a great impression. I will definitely return.

    As always, wonderful!

    I love SCAPES and keep coming back. This time the weather was great, and the sunset view of Mt. Fuji was wonderful. In addition to the breakfast featuring Miura vegetables, we also had lunch at the restaurant. The dishes were truly delicious, with impressive care and creativity. They kindly explained each ingredient in detail, and their attentiveness was outstanding, making for a very satisfying lunchtime. This is a Hotel where you can be healed not only by the nature of Morito Beach, but also by the warm hospitality of all the staff!

    We had a wonderful time with the amazing view and Room. This time we chose a breakfast-only Plan, and it was very delicious with plenty of fresh Hayama vegetables and generous portions. With a later check-out time, we could relax without worrying about the clock, making it a truly great trip. We would love to stay again.

    A Hotel where you can relax and feel refreshed, even for just one night

    With some free time, I wanted to refresh, so I visited this Hotel with an exceptionally high Review rating. The room I was shown had a large window overlooking the sea in Hayama, creating a quiet, soothing space that felt as if I were surrounded by the ocean. They even provided welcome sweets and sparkling wine, which made me excited. As for the highly rated hospitality and service mentioned by others, at first I had no particular interaction with the staff and it felt neither good nor bad. However, after speaking with them due to an issue with the shower, their pleasant response convinced me—it became a well-deserved 5-star experience. Regarding the shower, it may have been partly due to my misunderstanding of how to use it and not something that could be called a malfunction; however, unfortunately the water pressure was very low, and I think it may be somewhat difficult for women when shampooing. (So I deducted two stars for the bath.) Also, for stylish appliances such as Bang & Olufsen products, it would be helpful if a simple instruction sheet were kept in a drawer. As for the food, they served delicious local ingredients with wonderful presentations that felt fresh and different each time—I was full of anticipation about what would come next throughout. That said, every dish had a charcoal aroma. It is tasty, but when it continues it can start to feel repetitive. For example, if you reduced the charcoal aroma in dishes before and after the main course, wouldn’t it make the charcoal-grilled main stand out even more? I may be a demanding guest in many ways, but overall it was extremely comfortable and I really loved my stay. Because Hayama is close to Tokyo, I had been skeptical about whether it would truly feel like a change of pace—but this time I felt very refreshed. I would definitely like to visit this Hotel again.

    It was a relaxing experience.

    I visited again during the New Year holidays, just like last year. From the balcony, you can enjoy a panoramic view from Morito Shrine to Enoshima. It was a relaxing New Year’s experience with sights of kite flying on the beach and stunning views of Mount Fuji at sunset and sunrise. The temperature feels warmer compared to Tokyo. I appreciated the thoughtful New Year gifts such as welcome drinks, ema (wooden plaques) from Morito Shrine, and incense. The freshly made bread and dressings from the kitchen were absolutely delicious. In addition to amenities like beer and coffee, this year there was Japanese black tea with a hint of ginger, which was also delightful. I would love to visit again with my family!

    A Hotel to Create Memories for a Lifetime

    I used this accommodation for a proposal. Even during the busy Christmas season, they accommodated our wishes, making it the best stay ever. I had high expectations after reading reviews and seeing photos, but on the day, not only was the view stunning, but their hospitality and personalized suggestions far exceeded my expectations. The food was also absolutely delicious, making this my favorite hotel of all time. I would love to visit again for special occasions and recommend it to friends and family as well. From welcome drinks and sweets to non-alcoholic beverages provided during jacuzzi use, every detail reflected their heartfelt hospitality, leaving me deeply moved throughout my stay. Thank you so much for making such an important day a lifelong memory!

    A Hotel filled with thoughtfulness.

    This trip was a special getaway with my friend of 40 years to celebrate our 60th birthdays together. The Hotel staff truly made us feel that they aim to bring joy to every guest, tailoring their hospitality to each individual’s situation. Their exceptional service and heartfelt care were genuinely impressive. From the welcome plate, flowers, postcard messages, breakfast plate message, and farewell gift—every detail was filled with thoughtfulness and warmth that deeply touched us. The highlight of this Hotel is undoubtedly its outstanding hospitality, but equally remarkable is its location and the breathtaking view from the Room. The sight of the ocean, Enoshima Island, and Mount Fuji directly in front of us through the window was absolutely stunning—a view that cleanses your soul. As for the jacuzzi experience—we debated on timing but chose early morning which turned out perfect! The morning sunlight combined with Mount Fuji's majestic presence and crisp air made it unforgettable. Plus, after indulging in a hearty dinner the night before (which left us feeling quite full), relaxing in the jacuzzi helped prepare us for an even more enjoyable breakfast! The reason I rated four stars instead of five is due to some areas around the jacuzzi or bath where I felt cleanliness could be improved slightly (from a homemaker’s perspective). With advanced cleaning products available nowadays, it seemed like these areas could be maintained better. Additionally—and this is just a personal wish—it would be wonderful if hair irons were available for loan even if not provided in every Room. Despite these minor points, this Hotel offers an incredibly high level of satisfaction overall! My friend and I forgot about our daily routines as we chatted endlessly like we were 19 again (though our conversations often revolved around “that” or “this” since we couldn’t recall proper nouns anymore—haha!). It was truly a rejuvenating escape from reality. When it came time to part ways at the end of our stay, we found ourselves tearing up unexpectedly. Thank you so much for creating such beautiful moments filled with kindness and care!

    I stayed in the Mandarin Room with my wife and eldest daughter. The weather was perfect, making it a wonderful trip. Since we didn’t travel by car, the shuttle service from the nearest station was very helpful. The Mandarin Room was a beautiful accommodation with a balcony offering views of Mt. Fuji. The welcome champagne and sweets were delicious as well. Right in front of the hotel is a beach where people walked their dogs, and the setting sun was stunningly beautiful. Dinner featured dishes made with local vegetables, served in just the right portions, beautifully presented, and very tasty. After dinner, we enjoyed a reservation-only jacuzzi experience that included non-alcoholic champagne and jelly treats—a delightful touch! We woke up to the sound of waves and sunrise; breakfast on the balcony was both delicious and refreshing. The inclusive drinks menu also showcased attention to detail with high-quality coffee options—truly impressive! With late check-out available, we had time for a leisurely morning walk nearby or browsing shops after breakfast before departing at our own pace. It was an all-inclusive stay filled with thoughtful touches that left us completely satisfied upon returning home. Next time I’d like to book another room for my wife and me to try something different. Thank you for your hospitality!

    Blissful Moments

    This was our stay after several visits, so long ago that I can't even remember the last time. From check-in to check-out, it felt like being at home. I was surprised by the hospitality of the staff and how they remembered messages from our previous visit. This time was a birthday present for my wife, and she was delighted.     The hospitality at the Hotel was exceptional.

    This was my first visit. I usually don't write reviews, but I was so impressed by the comfort that exceeded even high-class hotels in Tokyo that I decided to post one. The staff's friendly and heartfelt service, the prepared drinks and amenities, the delicious dishes made with high-quality local ingredients, and the use of the jacuzzi—all of these reflected top-notch hospitality, perhaps due to their experience with bridal services. Additionally, the shuttle service from the station was a big plus for me as a train user. The view from the room was, of course, stunning. Being able to step right onto the beach allowed me to collect shells like those in my attached photo. I also enjoyed walking along the beach to visit Morito Shrine and nearby rocky areas. I would love to visit again someday. Thank you very much!

    I would love to stay here again.

    We stayed here to celebrate his birthday. The staff kindly allowed us to check in early and provided information about nearby restaurants. When we checked in, the ocean was right in front of us, and we enjoyed a welcome drink while relaxing. I absolutely loved the hand soap and kept washing my hands with it! Dinner was delicious, especially the freshly baked bread—it was amazing. The portions were quite large, so smaller servings might be an option for some guests. The jacuzzi was available for private use for one hour, but it would have been nice to have more time slots to choose from. Also, having a karaoke feature in the Room would have been even better! We were touched by the thoughtful gesture of including a photo with our names written in sand at the beach inside an envelope. Thank you very much!

    Accommodation offering exquisite cuisine and stunning views, just one hour from Tokyo Station.

    Starting with welcome champagne and baked sweets on the balcony, every moment until the next day's lunch was comfortable and filled with happiness. Despite two days of heavy rain across Tokyo and Kanagawa, Morito Beach in Hayama was miraculously cloudy. By evening, Mount Fuji made an appearance, and a miraculous sunset lit up the sky filled with clouds. The beautiful scenery could be enjoyed both from the Room and the restaurant. The meals featured innovative dishes using locally sourced ingredients, which were visually stunning and delicious. We received many wonderful souvenirs including photos of the beach taken on our arrival morning, a photo of Diamond Fuji from the Hotel, Genbei beach sandals, exquisite carrot dressing, among others. While it may seem pricey at first glance, it is well worth it for the satisfaction of your stay. I visited with my elderly mother; they kindly provided a chair in the bathroom for her convenience. If you have any requests, please do not hesitate to communicate them as all staff members are incredibly hospitable under their manager's leadership and will do their best to accommodate your needs. No matter who you visit with, I believe you will leave satisfied. Thank you to all staff members for taking care of us so well—my mother was also very pleased! Thank you very much!

    The Room is excellent.

    The moment I entered the room, the sparkling beach right in front of me made me spontaneously exclaim, "Wow!" It was a hot day, but I enjoyed champagne on the terrace and spent an elegant time in a room spacious enough for comfort. However, despite such a perfect start, there were a few points that made me wonder. I had reserved the 4th-floor jacuzzi during sunset hours. The staff mentioned it was an excellent location, so I had high expectations. But... frosted glass? Once in the jacuzzi, there was no view at all. Does anyone use this space without swimwear? If swimwear is required and the frosted glass is removed, I believe satisfaction would be much higher. As it was disappointing, we left early and returned to our room to watch the sunset from there instead. Although we informed beforehand that we were two women staying together, one pair of beach sandals provided were men's size and too large to wear comfortably. Additionally, amenities were prepared for only one person. It also seemed like checkout time wasn’t communicated unless we asked about it ourselves. These are small details but considering how much we looked forward to this day; they felt slightly disappointing. That said, breakfast was excellent and dinner via room service was delicious as well! If given another opportunity in the future, I would love to visit again!

    Hotel with the Best Hospitality

    I stayed at the accommodation with my wheelchair-using mother at the beginning of June. After a disappointing experience last autumn at a long-established hotel in Hayama, I had assumed that hotels focused on location might lack hospitality. However, this hotel was completely different. It was an accommodation with outstanding hospitality. From the reception staff to the restaurant team, every employee showed genuine dedication to making guests happy. I could feel their passion and also thought their employee training must be excellent. Thanks to everyone, I was able to fully enjoy my time with my mother. Thank you so much. Here are some points that particularly impressed me: - The food was absolutely delicious! From dinner to breakfast and lunch, there wasn’t a single thing I could criticize—it was perfect! The freshly baked focaccia made by the chef was so good that my mother couldn’t stop eating it! Also, the carrot dressing we received as a souvenir was incredibly tasty. - In the jacuzzi area, there were ginger jelly and champagne provided—a thoughtful touch—and even the jelly tasted amazing! The water temperature in the jacuzzi was just right as well. - When an issue arose late at night regarding my mother’s care, H-san kindly helped us out—thank you so much! Additionally, in the morning they gently wiped down my mother's body; she looked very comfortable and happy about it, which made me happy too. This is an accommodation I would love to visit again during another season. It’s also a hotel I can confidently recommend to friends!

    I stayed at the accommodation to celebrate a birthday. With all rooms offering ocean views, I was able to enjoy a full resort experience while watching the sunset over the horizon. I also used the open-air jacuzzi, and the sea breeze was incredibly pleasant and refreshing. The dinner at the atmospheric restaurant featured fresh ingredients and was delicious, though some dishes were overly salty, so I hope this can be improved. Thanks to all the staff, it became a memorable birthday celebration, and I sincerely thank you for that.

    A Lovely Accommodation by the Sea

    I was extremely satisfied. First of all, the location is fantastic. Many seaside hotels are often located with a main road between them and the ocean, making it noisy with car sounds late at night or early in the morning. However, this accommodation is situated in a residential area, making it very quiet while still being right by the beach. At night, I could only hear the sound of waves as I slept peacefully and felt truly relaxed. The breakfast on the terrace overlooking the beach was absolutely wonderful. Although I didn’t have dinner here, judging from the quality of breakfast, I imagine it must be quite delicious as well. The breakfast portions were generous but everything was so tasty that I finished it all. The sausages were especially flavorful and hearty, and the salad with carrot dressing was delightful—it made me happy to receive some as a souvenir. The staff members were mostly young but very friendly and welcoming, which made my stay even more pleasant. The only slight disappointment was the rooftop jacuzzi. Hoping for a great view, I reserved an evening slot; however, there was complete privacy screening that blocked any outside scenery—it felt like just having a jacuzzi on a rooftop without any view at all. Although we were told we had one hour to use it, there wasn’t a clock inside so I had to return to my room to get my phone. That said, considering that using the jacuzzi felt more like an extra perk than anything else—this accommodation overall was truly amazing! I would love to visit again next time and try their dinner as well!

    We had a wonderful anniversary.

    We stayed here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my husband's birthday. After making the Reservation, I consulted via email about a surprise plan, and the staff responded with great care. During our discussion, I asked if it was possible to create a "portrait" as a keepsake. Although they initially mentioned that there was no affiliated artist available, they suggested creating something memorable in another form. On the second day during breakfast, we were presented with an album that included a hand-drawn portrait by one of the staff members—it truly moved us! Thank you so much for your thoughtful efforts and kindness. The meals were absolutely delicious! Dinner was visually stunning with a wide variety of dishes, and every bite was exceptional. Breakfast had a special touch as it was served via room service, allowing us to choose from three main dishes—such an enjoyable experience! The salad dressing was incredibly tasty; my husband and I joked about wanting to buy it. To our delight, we received the dressing as a gift upon departure—what an amazing gesture! Being able to rent mountain bikes and running gear added so much value! Even after Check-Out, we could use the mountain bikes until 3 PM and fully enjoyed exploring Hayama. One small suggestion: I felt that some amenities were slightly lacking. For example, there was only enough lotion for one use—I would have appreciated having lotion for both morning and night along with some emulsion. (That said, this might not be an issue for those who bring their own skincare products; plus, trying out John Masters Organics' lotion and peeling gel is definitely nice!) We had two absolutely wonderful days here—completely satisfied beyond expectations! I wholeheartedly recommend this place to everyone and can't wait to come back again someday. Thank you very much!

    Perfect getaway

    It was a truly enjoyable stay that allowed me to fully relax and unwind. The friendly staff welcomed us warmly, followed by a refreshing welcome champagne and sweets. Next, the rooftop jacuzzi rejuvenated my tired body. Dinner was a delightful experience with dishes beautifully presented in the theme color, accompanied by wonderful aromas and flavors that enhanced the joy of dining. The wine pairing added an extra touch of pleasure. The next day began with a stroll along the beach and a visit to Morito Shrine, followed by room service breakfast featuring fresh local vegetables, delicately flavored soup, and satisfying main dishes. I spent the rest of the morning reading leisurely until checkout in the afternoon. I would love to return for another relaxing holiday!

    We were delighted with the surprises, including a complimentary room upgrade due to availability at check-in and a special plate prepared for our anniversary. We enjoyed a relaxing time in the spacious room, listening to the sound of waves, which felt like an extraordinary escape.     This was my first stay, and the hospitality was exceptional! Here's a summary: - Detailed plan confirmation via phone & email before arrival - Free taxi shuttle service - Anniversary/Birthday dessert & welcome champagne - Complimentary drinks in the fridge (local beer, juice, sparkling water, mineral water, etc.) - Private rooftop jacuzzi for 60 minutes with non-alcoholic sparkling wine to enjoy while soaking - Birthday gift left on the doorknob after returning from the jacuzzi! - Breakfast room service with a choice of terrace or living space dining options - Access to stylish photo books and more in the library room - Complimentary running wear and juice rental; enjoyed jogging on the beach in the morning - Received dressing from breakfast as a parting gift The hospitality was outstanding, and I truly loved both the facilities and guest rooms!     I was able to refresh myself.

    I made the Reservation without prior research, but it turned out to be a wonderful Hotel beyond my expectations, making for a highly satisfying stay. The location and service were particularly excellent, and it even felt like a bargain at this price. The Room design was tasteful, and the 1 PM checkout was also a delightful point.

    The best for a secluded Stays

    I use this property occasionally. This time was another great stay. Thank you to all the staff! The best view to relax, a spacious room, and a jacuzzi with a view of the sky. I've stayed here several times for New Year's, but this time there was a special gift, which made it different from usual. I really enjoyed it. I thought it might be even nicer if the furoshiki and Genbei sandals matched the color of the room. While sandals are nice, it might be better than accumulating the same color. A hotel with attentive services like bicycle and sports shoe rentals. The meals are not too large, with plenty of vegetables, which is nice. The variety of non-alcoholic drinks is a welcome change. It's reasonable nowadays since meals, room drinks, and special coffee are included. Just two points: it's quite puzzling that the room amenities include only one sachet of face wash and lotion. I wasn't troubled since I brought my own, but having just one for a room for two, and only enough for one use, was the same as before and is quite confusing. Another point is that all the room drinks are coffee, with no tea, which is puzzling. It might have been forgotten, but when I requested, they brought it (and it was very delicious!). However, with more people avoiding coffee and preferring non-caffeine options, I hope this can be improved. The wait time for a taxi on the way back was very, very long, which was puzzling. However, the taxi service was excellent. Overall, I had a very pleasant and enjoyable time. I look forward to staying again.

    A quiet winter sea with a perfect location where you can gaze at Mount Fuji endlessly.

    I was surprised at how beautifully renovated it was, making it even more comfortable. The view from the terrace is absolutely stunning. You can see people leisurely walking their dogs or jogging, enjoying a slow and luxurious time different from summer. Moreover, Mount Fuji is right in front of you, and you can gaze at it endlessly. I was able to enjoy a luxurious time doing nothing. However, the door to the terrace is heavy and requires some effort to open. Also, I would appreciate it if there were a set of basic skincare amenities. Having just one packet each of face wash and lotion feels a bit lacking. It would be nice to have bath salts as well. There were some in the private jacuzzi, but they were more decorative and a bit sparse. Other than that, it was very comfortable. Thank you very much.

    I was able to spend a luxurious time at leisure.

    When you enter the Room, you will see the vast ocean outside the window. You can reach the resort area in just over an hour from Tokyo. The French dinner is served in small portions with a variety of dishes, similar to kaiseki cuisine. It wasn't heavy, so I was able to finish it all. It was very delicious. Breakfast was served in the Room, and I enjoyed my meal on the terrace while gazing at Mount Fuji and the ocean.
