    It was an accommodation full of hospitality.

    I love islands and solo trips. Since I made a last-minute reservation, I still needed to book flights and ferries, but the staff promptly called me and arranged everything, including a rental car and shuttle service to the port. Thanks to their help, I was able to plan a smooth itinerary. I arrived in the evening, and the sunset view from my room was breathtaking. The sunlight created a golden path between the islands—it was truly stunning. Meals were served at a counter with an excellent view, allowing me to enjoy various ocean scenes such as serene nights and misty mornings right before my eyes. The meals featured an abundance of local island delicacies prepared with great care—everything was delicious! Memorable dishes included sea urchin, Iki beef, and Iki's unique natto. Above all else, the staff's enthusiasm for Iki Island shone through; they were so friendly and even chatted casually with me during my solo trip—it made me very happy. The iron-rich brown hot spring water was also fantastic for relaxing my body. This accommodation is definitely one I'd like to revisit. Nearby at Kamimura Pearl Shop, I learned about Japan’s exquisite pearls in depth and purchased some beautiful ones as well. Back in Tokyo now, looking at these pearls reminds me of this wonderful accommodation’s staff members’ warm smiles and Iki Island’s stunning scenery. Thank you for such an amazing time!

    Memorable Moments

    Fresh seafood and Iki beef were delicious, and every dish was prepared with care. I enjoyed the Onsen, including the open-air bath, and had a relaxing time. The staff provided thoughtful advice with great attention to detail. Staying at this Ryokan for two nights brought peace to my heart. Watching the sunset right in front of me was unforgettable; I hope to visit again during that time of day. It was a memorable trip—thank you very much!

    Second Stay

    This visit is a repeat from nearly a year ago. When we arrived at the accommodation with our rental car, we were warmly greeted by the staff member who had assisted us during our previous treatment, which brought back fond memories and made us feel at ease. For dinner on both the first and second nights, we enjoyed sitting in front of the chef, engaging in delightful conversations that made the dining experience even more enjoyable. The pufferfish and abalone here are truly exceptional. I especially love their signature abalone shabu-shabu and grilled abalone. Breakfast was perfectly portioned and left nothing to be desired. On the first day, I managed to capture a beautiful photo of the gradient between sea and sky as dusk fell, so I’ve attached it here for you to see. Looking forward to visiting again next time!

    Thank you for your hospitality. While some parts of the facility felt slightly dated, everything was well-maintained and there were no issues. I was satisfied with the service, Onsen, room, and meals. However, during dinner, while the open space was pleasant, at a table seat (not at the counter), several staff members were constantly moving back and forth, making it difficult to enjoy a relaxed meal. I understand this is part of their procedures but would appreciate some consideration on this matter. Additionally, one group of guests seemed to be engaged in continuous conversation with a staff member nearby, which was somewhat distracting. After check-out, we encountered an issue on the island and sought assistance; your prompt response was greatly appreciated. The city office staff also provided kind support. Although the problem could not be resolved in the end, we were touched by everyone's warmth and had an overall positive impression of our trip. Thank you very much!

    Accommodation for Elderly Parents in Their 80s

    The accommodation is small and the exterior feels a bit old, but the interior was clean and well-maintained. The staff were very attentive. Both dinner and breakfast were extremely delicious. They were also very considerate towards my elderly parents. The onsen has a deep brown color, which made it difficult to notice the steps in the bath, almost causing a fall. Perhaps more warning signs would be helpful. We are grateful for the relaxing time we spent here.

    Iki Island Journey

    We stayed as a group of six women. As the organizer, I was looking for a Hotel where all six of us could stay together in one Room, and it was truly wonderful to be able to talk late into the night and refresh ourselves.

    Comfortable hospitality

    The meals, scenery, and rooms were excellent, but what stood out the most was the staff's exceptional hospitality. Their attentive yet unobtrusive service created a perfect balance, allowing for a very comfortable and pleasant stay.

    Senior Trip for Three

    I had made a reservation in January, but due to bad weather, I intended to change the reservation but mistakenly canceled it! The cancellation fee had already been charged, but when I called the accommodation directly, they kindly told me to visit again during better weather. They even processed it so that no cancellation fee would apply—truly exceptional service. Two months later, I made another reservation and visited. All the staff were very kind, and I had a very pleasant time. I would love to visit again!

    I fully enjoyed the Hotel.

    The staff were polite yet friendly, making us feel very relaxed. The facility was, of course, excellent. We reserved the best room and enjoyed a spacious room just for the two of us as a couple. Next time, we would love to come with our son's family. The food was also outstanding; the whole grilled cod was large and delicious, though perhaps a bit too much in quantity. Definitely our number one accommodation to visit again!

    Enjoy Onsen with a Stunning Ocean View

    Thank you for promptly responding to my email inquiry about Kojima Shrine before our visit. Thanks to your assistance, we were able to enjoy a refreshing early morning visit to the shrine. The view of the sea from the lobby, Room, and restaurant changed with time and was endlessly captivating. Both breakfast and dinner allowed us to appreciate the richness of Iki's local ingredients, and they were exceptionally delicious. Regarding the Room, I found it slightly challenging as I am not accustomed to sitting in a Japanese-style room. Additionally, I noticed there was no small washing area in the open-air bath, and walking barefoot on the bedroom floor felt slightly uncomfortable. In the lounge area, unfortunately, a large family group occupied most of the space during our visit, leaving only seats with glaring sunlight from sunset available; this made it difficult to relax fully. Overall though, we were very satisfied with our stay—thank you!

    The finest cuisine and Iki shochu.

    I stayed at Goto Retreat and learned that there is a Ryokan of the same group here, so I had always wanted to stay someday. By chance, I was able to take paid leave after a business trip nearby, so I decided to go for it. As a result, the meals were wonderful and it was the best Ryokan for me where I could relax and rejuvenate. Especially among all the places I've stayed before, this Ryokan had the best pairing of food and sake. Honestly speaking, I've never been fond of shochu before, but having karasumi with daikon radish and cold yellowtail with salt and wasabi paired excellently with Iki's shochu; it became an unforgettable taste for me. I'm not particularly a gourmet or knowledgeable about alcohol, but I'm filled with gratitude towards the chef who kindly explained about the dishes and drinks to someone like me. Although I forgot to take photos of the food and drinks, when you're truly experiencing bliss from your heart, you tend to forget about taking pictures. Additionally, from my Room (Heya), Tsushima could be seen in the distance; there was also an open-air bath that was distinctive yet calmingly impressive. The souvenir sweets exclusive for IKYU Diamond members were also wonderfully delicious. Since it's far away it's not easy to visit casually often but it's definitely a Ryokan I'd love to use again.

    Second visit

    I stayed for the first time last year and it was very good, so I visited again. Despite it being my second visit, the hospitality made me feel as if I had been there many times, which was a bit embarrassing. They remembered last year's visit well, and I was pleasantly surprised by how well information is shared among the staff. Although I travel a lot domestically, this is one of the few properties that makes me want to return just for the ryokan or hotel itself. Everything from the food to the onsen and staff's attentiveness is excellent, and I feel it offers value beyond its accommodation price. Last time focused on visiting shrines; this time centered around nature and scenery; I'm already thinking about what to do next time right after returning home. For me, Iki (Iki) is an ideal place to heal my mind and body and refresh myself, especially at this property. I look forward to visiting again.

    I had a fulfilling time.

    I was worried about what to do if the jetfoil wasn't operating due to stormy weather on the Sea of Japan side when traveling from Tokyo to Iki, but I was encouraged by the staff's words that it would be okay to cancel if the jetfoil wasn't running, so I went ahead with my plans. I'm glad I did. Although it was too windy at night to enjoy the outdoor bath, I was able to refresh myself in the indoor bath and thoroughly enjoyed the delicious meals. The atmosphere in the library was also pleasant, allowing me to have a wonderful time. Thank you very much.

    Great satisfaction

    On the second night, we changed rooms. There was a Japanese-style room, a bedroom, and even a lovely study. However, there was no indoor bath, only a shower and an open-air bath. The elderly couple realized their physical decline with the tatami and cushions after a long time living with chairs. The staff provided excellent service, offering assistance and making our three-day stay comfortable and hassle-free. We were particularly impressed by the chef's thoughtful considerations. Additionally, the staff taught us about the pearls of Iki, allowing us to make a good purchase. This property boasts great views and a wonderful onsen, but they don't rest on these laurels. They create meals that are visually and gastronomically delightful, truly delicious from the heart, using the best ingredients. Furthermore, the staff's hospitality is warm and considerate, always putting themselves in the guests' shoes. It is a very comfortable and warm Stays, perfect for visiting when you need to relax and rejuvenate.

    Great satisfaction

    I finally had the opportunity to stay at the Stays I had been very interested in for a long time. From the email exchanges before the stay, I received very kind advice, which heightened my expectations. For the first night, I chose the lowest-priced Room. It had an indoor cypress bath, and although the water appeared faintly blue, the scent of wood filled the bathroom, providing a soothing experience. From the Room, I could enjoy a panoramic view of the sea, which changed every hour, offering an escape from the everyday. The highlight was the wonderful meals. Each dish was truly delicious, bringing out the best of the ingredients. Lunch, dinner, and breakfast were all thoroughly satisfying, and the specially arranged teppanyaki was exceptionally delightful. The Onsen at this Property is famous for its brown color and high concentration, but above all, I think the food is the best. The amenities, which women might be concerned about, use local olive oil and were perfectly fine for my sensitive skin, with everything from cleansing products to a hairdryer with sufficient airflow. You only need to bring a change of clothes, making packing hassle-free, and the access from Hakata is surprisingly good, allowing for a more relaxed visit than expected. This is a Property I would like to visit just to enjoy the meals.

    Wonderful

    The staff's service, the shuttle service, the cleanliness of the room, the onsen, the view from the hotel, and the meals were all excellent. However, it was unfortunate that the window glass was dirty, which was noticeable when approaching the window to view the outside scenery. Nevertheless, it is a hotel I definitely want to visit again.

    It was comfortable.

    I stayed for two nights to relax. The staff's hospitality was very pleasant. They contacted me in advance and arranged a rental car, allowing me to enjoy a full day of sightseeing. The free shuttle service to the port was also helpful, and on the day of departure, I was able to have lunch after checking out, which allowed me to take my time. On the first day, I had nodoguro, and the nodoguro sushi was the best I've ever had. The Onsen in the room seemed to have limited water supply, and it was occasionally out of order, which was a bit of a struggle, but when I couldn't use it in the room, the large public bath was available, so it worked out. As a request, I would like the back of the room air conditioner to be hidden. Also, it might be difficult due to staffing issues, but it was unfortunate that the grilled fish and rice at breakfast were cold.

    I was expecting a relaxing stay, but...

    It was disappointing and unsatisfactory. The staff were very kind, and the food was very satisfying. The onsen was drafty and I couldn't relax, and the room's open-air bath was difficult to adjust manually, so I couldn't use it even once. I wish there was an automatic temperature adjustment feature. The bedroom floor was made of coconut carpet, which hurt my feet and was not a relaxing situation. I think it was a renovated property, but I won't be visiting a second time.

    Close, but a bit incomplete.

    I went with high expectations because it was a five-star hotel and the photos looked amazing, but honestly, it was disappointing. The first impression of the lobby was not sophisticated, with the sofas and other furnishings. We went as a group of three, but there were only amenities for two people, such as toothbrushes. When we informed the front desk, a staff member brought them to us, but their language and attitude were unpleasant. The room was ocean view, but the back of the air conditioner was fully visible, there were no fresh flowers, and it felt cheaply renovated, lacking a sense of luxury. The Onsen water was good, with cloudy hot spring water flowing directly from the source.

    We were very satisfied.

    I was truly impressed by the outstanding hospitality of the staff. The Hotel itself may be a bit old, but it was thoroughly cleaned and felt very fresh and spotless. Every meal was delicious, and since it wasn’t a busy season, I only saw another guest in the large public bath once—otherwise I had it all to myself. I was able to relax and fully enjoy the Onsen in complete privacy. The only disappointment was that the Onsen pumping system broke down, so from the evening of the second day onward I couldn’t use the in-Room bath I had been looking forward to. I first learned about the issue when I asked a staff member at breakfast on the third day, but if it had already broken down, I wish they had informed me when I returned to the Hotel after sightseeing on day two. That said, it gave me more time to enjoy the large public bath, and overall this was a wonderful Hotel that exceeded my expectations. It made for a very satisfying 2-night, 3-day stay. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Iki!

    Feel like a lord

    I only knew that red sea urchin was delicious, and since it was out of season, I came to enjoy the scenery and was pleasantly surprised by the unexpected luxurious ingredients. The open-air bath is positioned facing the sea, allowing you to enjoy both the sunset and sunrise while soaking in the bath, making it worth choosing a day with good weather. The meals and baths were excellent, making me feel like royalty, so I immediately sent a LINE message to my friends on the Shinkansen ride home to recommend it.

    Very satisfied

    I decided to visit after seeing travel sites and brochures, and it was definitely worth it. The meals, especially the teppanyaki steak, were excellent, living up to my expectations. The black abalone was delicious. During the Japanese meal, the calm sea view from the window was soothing. I heard that in early summer, the sunset sinks right in front of you. I would love to visit again during that time. The staff's subtle attentiveness also made me feel at ease.

    A solo trip for a retreat

    This hotel offers quite high hospitality. You can feel the staff's intention to make guests feel welcome. For example, I had a plan with a spa this time, and they provided topics for dinner afterward, shared information as a team, and utilized it. The head chef had a wealth of food topics to enjoy, and although it might have been a coincidence, I felt that they were considerate of solo guests by offering seats at the very front, very back, and in the middle. The freshness of the seafood was outstanding, and the fish was so delicious that I thought I might not be able to eat fish in Fukuoka. Points were deducted for the difficulty of using the Japanese-style room (no different from an old inn) and the lack of a side table for the couch sofa. There are many areas where it is not a space where you can take a comfortable posture. In any case, it's a place you should visit for at least two nights.
