    It was a comfortable...

    It was a comfortable and relaxing stay. The Room interior and the artworks displayed throughout the property are wonderful. The cuisine is thoughtfully prepared to highlight the ingredients, and all the tableware is of excellent quality.

    We truly had a wonderful time.

    We chose this property for a special commemorative trip because the Room was exactly what we were looking for. We love saunas, so having a sauna in the Room that we could enjoy together, fresh outdoor air coming into the relaxation area, a cold plunge bath, and an open-air bath—all of it was perfectly in place. Once we arrived, we were amazed at how spacious the Room was—almost too much for just two people. As an art-themed Room, it was stylish and truly artistic. The sauna, which was our main highlight, exceeded expectations; we did multiple rounds and felt genuinely refreshed from the bottom of our hearts. The meals were also delicious, and we could dine in a private space like a personal room, which made it very comfortable. We were also very happy with how politely and thoughtfully all the staff treated us. We felt that our age and experience didn’t quite match such a high-level stay yet, but even so, we really appreciated being treated with such care. From dishes we had never tried before to a wonderful Room unlike anywhere we’ve stayed before, it was an incredibly valuable experience—and it became a truly important and joyful memory for us. Thank you very much! We’ll work hard so that we can come back to stay again!

    We were soothed by the abundant greenery and the Onsen.

    This trip was a busy one, as I had errands to take care of in Kaga City rather than relaxing on the Onsen. This was my second stay, and I clearly remembered how delicious the food was last time, so I chose to stay at Hanamurasaki again without hesitation. The staff were wonderful, and just like before, I was soothed by the excellent cuisine and the Onsen. The menu listed only the ingredients so guests could imagine what each dish would be like, but every dish exceeded my expectations and delighted me. In addition, at the tea room that also serves as a lounge, I enjoyed a variety of teas and was able to relax right up until just before departure. Thank you very much. If we have the opportunity again, I would love to visit again.

    A Trusted Ryokan

    This stay was truly wonderful once again, and it reminded me how much I love this Accommodation. I’ve stayed here several times, and each visit brings an even greater sense of comfort and ease. The property is always impeccably clean—not only the lobby and guest rooms, but even the smallest details are carefully maintained. I can relax throughout my stay because it’s clear the place is thoughtfully cared for every day. The staff are also outstanding. Their warm, attentive service is soothing every time, and their natural sense of distance never makes guests feel they need to be overly considerate—making the whole experience incredibly comfortable. What impresses me most is their thoughtful attention to things I personally find difficult. They consistently share my requests in advance and prepare everything so I can stay without worry. Each time, I’m amazed at how far they go, and I’m deeply grateful for their guest-first consideration. The baths are another favorite. The tub is deep enough to soak up to my shoulders, warming me through to the core. I end up visiting both the large public bath and the open-air bath again and again. And the food is exceptional as well. The menu lists only simple ingredient names, but that simplicity naturally builds anticipation—“What will this become?” When each dish arrives, it highlights the quality of the ingredients while adding surprises and playfulness, making every course exciting. Mealtimes have become one of my biggest reasons for staying here. This isn’t a budget Accommodation by any means, but considering how Ryokan prices have risen in recent years, it actually feels reasonable. Even when paying a similar rate elsewhere, it’s rare to find an Accommodation that delivers this level of satisfaction. It doesn’t just feel “worth the price”—it feels like more than that every time. With each visit my satisfaction only grows; by checkout I’m already thinking, “I want to come back soon.” A truly wonderful Accommodation.

    The hospitality was exceptional.

    From the moment you step inside, a lovely incense-like fragrance fills the air, and with art and exhibits everywhere, it’s an exciting space no matter where you look. All of the staff provide truly refined hospitality. Combined with the spacious, uncluttered atmosphere throughout the property, their warmth made it feel wonderfully luxurious. It was genuinely a wonderful time. Since we usually sleep in beds, we were a bit worried about sleeping on futons, but they were surprisingly comfortable—everyone was impressed and slept soundly. Dinner was just the right amount, and breakfast felt incredibly indulgent as well, with nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch) and local vegetables. It was a very comfortable stay and we were completely satisfied. Thank you so much!

    Hospitality beyond expectations

    We stayed here for our anniversary. I don’t usually write a Review, but the hospitality at Hanamurasaki made us want to come back right away, so I felt compelled to share. The Room we reserved was the Modern Junior Suite “Haru no 3,” and it truly matched the stylish atmosphere shown on the website. My partner and I were moved by the fresh greenery visible through the lattice window. From the 1st-floor corridor after getting off the elevator all the way to our Room, everything followed a consistent theme, making even the walk down the hallway enjoyable. At dinner, even though I hadn’t mentioned during Reservation or check-in that I’m left-handed, they prepared chopsticks for left-handed use, which genuinely impressed me. It was clear that this level of service comes from staff paying attention to even the smallest details, and we were touched by Hanamurasaki’s hospitality throughout our stay. The dinner menu listed only ingredient names, so we didn’t know what would be served until it arrived—this led to fun conversations as we guessed what each dish might be. The bear hot pot we ordered separately and every course dish were delicious; each item was elegantly seasoned, and we were thoroughly satisfied. Thanks to everyone’s warm hospitality, it became a perfect anniversary for us. Thank you very much. We will definitely return.

    Hospitality befitting a luxury Accommodation

    From check-in to check-out, the staff were kind and attentive. The Modern Jr. Suite “Spring 3” is a stylish, darker-toned Room. The interplay of light and shadow is wonderful. We were very satisfied with the Zen-like atmosphere throughout the lobby, tea lounge, Room, gallery, and shop—refined and free of unnecessary flashiness. Dinner offered small portions of high-quality dishes, which was just the right amount for our light-eating family. Breakfast was flawless as well.

    It was an Accommodation where you could feel genuine kindness.

    A truly “kind” Accommodation I felt it in everything— the staff, the atmosphere, the guest room, the Onsen, and the meals. In a way, I also felt as if I was being tested on how deeply I could sense that kindness. The staff were genuinely warm from welcome to farewell, and to create this atmosphere there was no flashiness—just a thoughtfully designed space with careful attention to every detail. In the guest room, there was an ikebana arrangement, and I don’t think I’ve ever sat on such wonderfully plush floor cushions before. The view from the window of Kurotani Bridge—its stone arch—was simply beautiful. The Onsen isn’t large, but the water feels gentle; after bathing my skin felt moisturized, and when stepping out of the bath, the mat underfoot was incredibly comfortable. Each time you bathe, you can use neatly stacked white towels in various sizes—so soft against the skin. The meals were carefully prepared dish by dish with gentle flavors, and even the tableware they were served on was lovely. The staff explained each course politely with kind smiles, and while thinking to myself that they didn’t need to try quite so hard, I still felt deeply grateful. I would love to visit again someday.

    The Room with a sauna is the best.

    I stayed in the Art Suite with a sauna. It’s perfect for sauna lovers. The Room felt like home, and I loved the interior—it was very relaxing. There is also a large public bath and an open-air bath, so I really enjoyed the Onsen. I went because I wanted to eat crab. The crab itself was delicious, but the cooking method felt questionable, which was a shame. Breakfast was average as well. For an Accommodation in this price range, I expected free drinks and alcohol in the lounge or after-bath area, but there wasn’t any, which was disappointing.

    It was a relaxing Accommodation.

    I visited to enjoy Hokuriku’s winter delicacies. The area around the entrance felt calm, with low sofas arranged in soft colors. The staff watched over us with warm smiles, attentive without being intrusive. Since there was still snow on the ground, they kindly looked after us before and after our walks in various ways. The cuisine let us fully savor ingredients from Hashidate Port and Noto. The dinner menu listed only the ingredients, so we enjoyed imagining how each dish would be presented. Only the dessert was labeled “oshiruko,” which puzzled me at first—but I was surprised by ingredients beyond anything I had expected. The fugu shabu-shabu was also delicious, with thoughtfully crafted broth and dipping sauces. I’m also grateful for the courteous service from the Shuttle Service staff member. This is an Accommodation I’d love to visit again in a different season.

    A Wonderful Birthday Getaway

    This was a solo trip to celebrate my birthday, and I am truly grateful for the wonderful hospitality that made it an unforgettable, lifelong memory. Everything was excellent—the Room and the meals. I especially loved that there was a small garden inside the Room, and that the toilet and bathroom felt like they were in a separate annex, which added a lovely sense of charm. The only drawback was that the bathtub in the Room’s bathroom is a traditional style and quite deep, which felt a bit scary for middle-aged and older guests. I felt it would be helpful to have a step stool or grab bar for getting in and out. Next time, I would like to stay in a barrier-free Room. The large public bath had no issues at all, and I was able to relax and fully enjoy the Onsen.

    Enjoy autumn foliage and Kano Crab in an Onsen town associated with Basho

    In late November، while traveling from Oku-Noto toward Lake Biwa، I stopped for one night alongthe way۔ I stayed in “Universal Suite Haru no 1,” a far-end corner Room onthe first floor located right below Kurotani Bridge۔ Fromthe Room， I could enjoy views ofthe Daishoji River and autumn leaves withthe bridge inthe background। Becauseit is near Bashodo， this is an ideal locationfor strolling through Kakusenkei Gorge। While staying alertfor possible bear sightings， I tooka short walkat duskfrom Kurotani Bridge to Ayatori Bridgeand passed many international visitors alongthe way۔ The foliagewas bestaround Korogi Bridge， whereI tookmany vividand beautiful photos۔ The Room Facility felt new， asifit had been renovated۔ The semi-open-air Onsen bathhad slightly silky waterthat felt smoothon my skin। The bathing area felt abit cold， butthe source temperaturewas somewhat hotand warmed me thoroughly، soI didn’t get chilled afterward۔ Iwas also pleasedto finda mist sauna۔ For dinnerI chose“ Kano Crab Kaiseki，” but because whatI atein Oku-Notothe daybefore was outstanding، everything otherthan_the boiled crabwas honestly disappointing。 Still، by ordering additional kobako-crab tempura (warmed before eating)، I realized how good kobako crabc an be۔ I also ordereda sake pairing؛ however، perhaps becauseit wasa reasonable 7，000 yen comparedwith_the crab kaiseki course itself၊ its lineupwas frankly underwhelming。 It might have been betterto raise_the price somewhatand offer higher-grade local sakes instead。 At dinner、 our serverwasan experienced、 thoughtful staff memberfrom Oku-Noto； sincewe had just traveled around Oku-Noto ourselves、 conversation came easilyand madefor_a very enjoyable meal। However、 at breakfast therewere many younger staff members,and service levels could notbe called high (thoughIt_was clear theywere trying)。 Most disappointingly، after dinner something went wrongwith_the temperature controlfor_the in-room Onsen: itincreasedto sucha high levelthatIt_was too hotto bathe,and even touching_it wouldhave caused burns۔ By addinga large amountof water dilution,I managedto bathe before goingto bed,but_the Onsen minerals became extremely diluted,andIt hardly warmed meat all—any benefitswere essentially gone। In_the morning before checkout,I stopped adding water completelyand set_it backtoa hotter temperature; then,the Onsen’s effects returned,andI could finally enjoya pleasant soak。 Still,it_was very disappointing that after paying this rate,I could only fully enjoythe in-room Onsen twice: once after check-inand once rightbefore checkout。

    I visited for the se...

    I visited for the second time in mid-February, when there was still snow on the ground. I had stayed here about a year ago and was extremely satisfied, so after considering other Accommodations, I decided to return. The room was very quiet, and I slept soundly. The large public bath and open-air bath were also wonderful; perhaps because many rooms have private open-air baths, I hardly ran into other guests and was able to soak at a relaxed pace as if it were reserved just for me. In the post-bath lounge area, there was only a water dispenser. I felt that having additional drinks or small ice treats would make it even more enjoyable. As for the meals I had been looking forward to, the “choose-your-own kaiseki” from last year left a particularly strong impression. This time I had the chef’s recommended course; every dish was carefully prepared and delicious. However, because my satisfaction last year was so high and my expectations were accordingly big, I honestly found it slightly less impressive. I hope the “choose-your-own kaiseki” will return someday. Breakfast was also delicious, but compared with photos from a year ago, it seemed almost unchanged. While I understand it may be difficult to change everything, a bit more variety would have made me even happier. That said, the rice was excellent—I ended up having three bowls. The service was polite and attentive throughout, with thoughtful care in every detail, making my stay comfortable from start to finish. Overall, this visit was again very pleasant, and I would love to return if given another opportunity.

    I made a Reservation...

    I made a Reservation because I was drawn to the building. It was a wonderful Accommodation, beautifully refined while making great use of the building’s historic features. They also provided amenities for children, which made our stay very comfortable. We were able to fully enjoy in-room dining at a relaxed pace. All the staff were kind, and the farewell send-off at the end was very courteous—thank you for a lovely time.

    The interior, like an art museum, offered a serene atmosphere, and I felt it beautifully combined the best of a Ryokan and a Hotel. The Room was very spacious and quiet, allowing me to truly relax, and I especially loved the open-air bath in the guest room. I was also very satisfied with the thoughtful amenities such as shampoo, as well as the quality of the towels. The dining restaurant had a wonderful ambiance, and I was able to enjoy my meal at a leisurely pace. Dinner felt slightly small in portion. I think it would be even more enjoyable if you could explain where the ingredients come from and what each dish includes. Breakfast met my expectations in both quantity and quality. I would be happy if there were a gym on-site, even a small one.

    A Ryokan where you can connect with nature, relax both body and mind, and feel warmly restored.

    Step through the white noren curtain and you’re in another world. Sit down in the spacious lobby lounge and check in. With nothing to worry about or be mindful of—except nature itself— your five senses sharpen in a truly luxurious setting, and you can escape the hassles of everyday life. From the Room, you can enjoy a grand natural panorama—waterfalls, bridges, and mountain trees. We were lucky enough to see a snowy landscape the next morning as well. I was happy that the Room amenities were all from natural brands. The Onsen has separate floors for the large public bath (jet bath) and the open-air bath, so we could soak at a relaxed pace. Both the property and our Room were meticulously cleaned, and we felt comfortable from a hygiene standpoint as well. Everyone on staff was kind and gentle throughout our two-day stay. Thank you very much. A heartwarming Ryokan where you can connect with magnificent nature. Next time, I’d like to visit during the season of fresh greenery.

    We had a very relaxing stay.

    Artworks were displayed throughout the Accommodation, and we enjoyed each one. The space felt like a museum with plenty of open room, and we were able to spend time so unhurried that even the snowy scenery seen from the lobby seemed to move in slow motion. Both the atmosphere and the meals were outstanding, and we were especially impressed by how efficiently the younger staff worked. Combined with the warm hospitality of the more experienced staff, it was truly wonderful. Thanks to your kindness in lending my daughter snow boots, we were able to fully enjoy walking around the snowy Onsen town—thank you very much for your thoughtfulness. This is an Accommodation we would love to visit again someday as a family.

    A Memorable Stay

    I traveled to Hokuriku for crab. After indulging in Echizen crab to my heart’s content, I then sought a truly refined Accommodation and visited Hanamurasaki in Yamanaka Onsen. A high-quality trip began the moment we were picked up at the station. We relaxed in an Alphard and enjoyed the snowy scenery on the way to the Accommodation. Upon arrival, we were welcomed in the lounge with their signature tea and sweets. The elegant teacups and flower vases had a cohesive style that showed great attention to detail. The tea was exceptionally delicious, and the space was simple yet sophisticated—my family was delighted. Our Room had two connected spaces, and everything—from the entrance to the inner courtyard—was meticulously cared for. Even a single flower displayed in the corridor, along with the subtle scent of sandalwood, created a beautifully refined impression. The dining was outstanding. Every dish was carefully prepared, and everything—from the tableware to small decorative touches, of course including the food itself—impressed us with its superb ingredients, freshness, and highly accomplished cooking. We were thoroughly satisfied with the dashi flavor, seasoning, presentation, and portion sizes. From the open-air bath with a wonderful view, we could see snow-covered mountains—it felt incredible. With heartfelt hospitality, thoughtful attention to detail, gracious service, and impeccable staff throughout, it was an Accommodation where everything felt perfectly done. It’s ideal for visiting with loved ones such as family or friends. Next time I’d love to return for a Multiple Night Stay.

    It was a great accommodation.

    Thank you for your hospitality. The meals were delicious, and I enjoyed every drop of the broth in the small pot. I used the bath three times during my stay, and each time I was lucky to have it all to myself, allowing me to relax and enjoy it fully. The baths were always clean and well-maintained with wonderful water. When I entered the Room, I found it interesting that you could go to the tea area in shoes, but when carrying things, it felt a bit inconvenient. It became a wonderful memory for me.     I feel completely refreshed both physically and mentally.

    I visited with the aim of enjoying "Kanou Crab." The winter Kanou Crab was sweet, and the variety of cooking methods in the "Crab Kaiseki" was absolutely delicious. It lived up to its reputation. The facility seemed to have been renovated, featuring a modern design with art pieces displayed throughout, creating a calm atmosphere. The large public bath had a nostalgic Showa-era feel but was clean, and the open-air bath on the top floor was very pleasant, allowing for a truly relaxing experience. With high expectations for future improvements, I would like to share some thoughts I had. Perhaps simplicity is being emphasized intentionally; however, amenities and snacks felt quite ordinary considering the level of this accommodation. Upon arrival, we were served "bocha tea and dry sweets" (which were very tasty), but accommodations at this level often serve "matcha tea and fresh sweets." Including delicious fresh sweets from Hokuriku could enhance satisfaction even further. In our room, only bocha tea bags and single-serve coffee drips were provided. Nowadays, accommodations at this level often provide not only coffee machines but also matcha sets, various teas, and snacks as well—this felt slightly lacking in comparison. Additionally, it was a bit disappointing that only a water machine was available in the post-bath area. Overall though, I had an extremely satisfying stay. Thank you very much!

    Travel for a family of three

    We stayed for one night during our 2-night, 3-day family trip. This was my first visit to Ishikawa Prefecture in 30 years, and we chose this time of year for the crab season. Naturally, we selected the crab course dinner, which was delicious. The service was excellent, and we had a very comfortable and pleasant stay. The room was spacious and allowed us to relax fully. It is an accommodation I would love to visit again if given the chance. Lastly, thank you for preparing a celebratory gift for my daughter.

    The photos might be too stunning!

    The contrast between the renovated areas and the old traditional interior was quite noticeable, perhaps because I stayed in the most standard Room. Dinner featured high-quality ingredients and was delicious, but it might not appeal to younger guests. For those on a diet, it could be ideal as there was minimal use of oil, with dishes served raw or lightly grilled, and no meat included. Breakfast was also healthy and enjoyable. However, considering that even the standard rate is equivalent to IKYU Plus pricing, I believe staff training in hospitality should be improved (apologies for being so forward). For example, alcohol orders were delayed and only arrived alongside dessert after prompting. Despite being in a region famous for sake, there were no recommendations or knowledge about local drinks... I admit I became slightly frustrated and acted strongly at times. In return for my complaints, I received a complimentary drink—thank you for your kindness despite my behavior. On a minor note, one of the attendants had a frayed obi belt which caught my attention—it seemed like such a waste given how young and beautiful she was. Thank you very much!

    Crab Kaiseki

    I chose "Hanamurasaki" to enjoy a crab kaiseki meal in winter Ishikawa. The relaxed flow of time and the atmosphere of the Room... it was a blissful experience different from usual. The dishes were also very delicious and thoroughly enjoyable. They even noticed my Mizuhiki necklace, which made for delightful conversation.

    Luxury Time with Crab: A Mother-Daughter Trip Without a Car

    This was my second visit to Yamanaka Onsen, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! A shuttle service was provided from Kaga Onsen Station, timed perfectly with the arrival of the Shinkansen. Upon arriving at the hotel, check-in was smooth, and we were guided directly to our room without any wasted time. This allowed us to enjoy sightseeing in Yamanaka Onsen even on the day of arrival. When we mentioned visiting Kiku-no-Yu, they kindly prepared a towel and basket set along with discount tickets! If you have even a little time, I highly recommend visiting Kiku-no-Yu for a truly unique experience. Dinner featured a crab Kaiseki course! We also ordered a sake pairing course that matched perfectly with each crab dish, making it an unforgettable dining experience. The hotel has two onsen facilities; the open-air bath offers stunning views and an incredibly soothing water quality. From arriving at Kaga Onsen Station to departing from the hotel, we received exceptional service throughout our stay. This hotel has now become one of my top favorites where I’d love to return after working hard again! Thank you for such a memorable experience.

    We took a late summer vacation and visited Yamanaka Onsen for the first time as a couple. Due to our busy daily lives, our main purpose was not to explore the onsen town or nearby tourist spots but to relax and refresh at a ryokan while celebrating our anniversary. For this reason, we reserved one night each in the suites of two renowned ryokans representing this onsen area. Both were uniquely charming in their own way, making it a memorable and wonderful trip for us as a couple. From the moment we stepped into the entrance, we were confident that we had made the perfect choice for our special anniversary. The atmosphere was elegant and refined with an air of tranquility. However, it never felt overly formal or pretentious like some high-end ryokans can be; instead, it seemed naturally exuded from the professionalism of the staff and meticulous cleanliness throughout. The suite rooms are located on lower floors near Daishoji River, ensuring minimal noise from footsteps or conversations in hallways. Even when relaxing on the terrace enjoying views of the river and waterfalls across from us, there was no disturbance from rooftop open-air baths or bridge traffic noise. Combined with beautifully designed interiors, we truly enjoyed peaceful moments here—an experience that felt like rejuvenating one's soul. The innovative design of the dining area also stood out as something beyond what you’d expect from traditional ryokans. Each dining space was independent and well-distanced from others to ensure privacy without worrying about overhearing conversations—a thoughtful touch that left a positive impression. The meals themselves were exceptional blends of tradition and modernity with delightful touches tailored for our anniversary celebration.     The service is excep...

    The service is exceptionally polite. The yukata size fits perfectly, and the amenities from a local Ishikawa company are a nice touch. It would have been better if there were some snacks in the Room. The local beer in the fridge is fantastic. However, the dining area was disappointing as conversations from neighboring tables were too audible, making it hard to relax. The crab was reasonably tasty (not extraordinary), and the Kobako crab optional menu was also good.

    Autumn Foliage Onsen Getaway for Ladies in the Mountains

    A girls' trip with four close friends after a long time. We visited Yamanaka Onsen during the peak of autumn foliage. One of our members had previously stayed at Hanamurasaki and highly recommended it as a wonderful Ryokan, so we were excited for our stay. And it exceeded our expectations! From the stylishly designed entrance to the lobby, to the comfortable room—it was all perfect. The meals were meticulously prepared and delicious, and since we opted for in-room dining, we could enjoy them at a leisurely pace. Above all, the hospitality from the staff was truly exceptional. While many seemed young, everyone provided warm and heartfelt service that made our stay incredibly pleasant. Thank you very much. We hope to visit again in a different season. Lastly, the autumn foliage at Yamanaka Onsen is truly picturesque!

    The meal was excellent!

    I stayed for one night and two days. I have visited many ryokans of a similar class before, but the cuisine here was truly exceptional and left me deeply impressed! The dishes, made with an abundance of fresh fish and vegetables, were simple yet highlighted the natural flavors of each ingredient. I would love to enjoy this cuisine again in different seasons. I highly recommend it to my friends. Thank you so much!
