    The meals and staff are wonderful!!

    Because we usually live with a strong commitment to pesticide-free, naturally grown ingredients, finding an Accommodation that aligns with that was extremely difficult. There was only limited information from Reviews and the website, but choosing this place was absolutely the right decision! Our second-grade daughter doesn’t eat creative cuisine or kids’ lunch-style menus, so we chose the ingredient-focused BBQ and shabu-shabu. They kindly adjusted portions and customized the contents in such a thoughtful way that we were truly impressed. We were already excited from our pre-arrival communication with the front desk, but above all, it was amazing to see how happily all the staff seemed to be working. The only negative point regarding the Facility: I bought laundry detergent at the front desk, but when I went to the laundry room, I was dismayed by how dirty the inside of the washing machine was. In the end, because the 50 yen detergent purchase wasn’t paid in cash, they couldn’t refund it—so I returned it to the front desk unused rather than waste it. At Amami Park (where we used a one-way Shuttle Service), The Tanaka Isson Museum of Art was wonderful, and our seven-year-old daughter could immerse herself in his world with genuine interest. At Amami Park she also got to try playing a shamisen and drums, which became a great experience for her. The city bus we took back (only once per hour) started accepting credit cards from August 1; both inside and overall it was comfortable—better than buses in central Tokyo. The shop inside the Hotel is also well stocked, and our daughter even got to try weaving. Thank you for teaching her so kindly. The guide at The Oshima Tsumugi Museum on the second floor looked stylish and wonderful every day in kimono; CHANEL No. 99 bright red lipstick suited her perfectly—I found myself thinking how much I’d love to be like that in my 70s! We didn’t get to meet your head chef this time, but we sincerely appreciate all of your thoughtful attention down to every detail. The pool temperature reached as high as 36°C depending on outside conditions; despite how hard one of your maintenance staff tried to cool it down, it wasn’t easy—but thanks to Amami’s surprisingly refreshing breeze, we still managed to enjoy it during shaded hours. A sandy beach just a few minutes from the Hotel—down some stairs and slopes—is closed for swimming, but there was hardly any trash. The water is crystal clear; simply sitting in shallow water with my daughter barefoot in the sand as waves washed over us felt cleansing. After 9 p.m. on August 1st, seeing a magnificent moon—just beginning its waning phase—reflected on the sea surface was breathtaking. Thank you very much to one of your restaurant staff members who told us about it. One of your housekeeping staff members was adorable too! We’ll come back again—to see everyone!

    We were extremely satisfied!!

    We arrived in heavy rain and were feeling pretty discouraged, but this Hotel was so wonderful even in the rain that we were truly glad we chose it. On the second day, the weather cleared beautifully, and the Pacific Ocean stretching out right in front of our Room was breathtaking. The meals made great use of local ingredients, and every dish had its own charm. Thanks to dinner and breakfast being offered in time slots we could choose from, we were able to relax and take our time while enjoying the ocean view. After breakfast, we stepped out from the restaurant into the garden and came across many rare tropical plants—banana trees with blossoms and fruit, pandanus (adan), hibiscus, shell ginger flowers—and even hermit crabs. We also used the two private family baths twice, which completely washed away our travel fatigue. Everyone on the staff—from the restaurant to throughout the Hotel—was very kind, and they shared lots of local tips you won’t find in guidebooks. The Oshima Tsumugi Museum was also outstanding. It felt like we learned a bit about Amami Oshima’s history, making it a truly meaningful experience. Thanks to this trip, we also discovered painter Kazuo Tanaka (Isson) and became big fans. We would definitely love to stay at this Hotel again next time.

    Enjoy the resort to the fullest!

    It was my first time on Amami Oshima with my daughter. Right in front of the Hotel was the ocean! We felt like kids again and played on the beach together. We could see the horizon, and we also paid our respects to Amami’s gods, including Tate-gami. The Hotel is decorated with stylish furniture and driftwood throughout, and with the sound of the waves it truly feels like a resort! The Hotel staff were all friendly, smiling, and very kind. And above all, the food was outstanding. The vegetables and fish from Amami Oshima were beautifully presented and deliciously prepared—both my daughter and I were completely satisfied! By the way, the breakfast egg-over-rice was also exceptional. The private bath was wonderful too—a truly luxurious space. We had an amazing time in complete peace and quiet, away from any unnecessary noise or crowds. I heard you can sometimes see whales in winter and sea turtles in summer. I’d love to come back in another season to relax again!

    A girls’ trip for four across two generations

    My second trip to Amami Oshima Once again, I stayed at Tidamoon. The bright, breezy atmosphere inside the Hotel, the furnishings, and the meals were all wonderful—but above all, what makes this Hotel special is the hospitality of the staff. During my stay, my mother had a leg cramp, and the staff came together to check on her and help us. Thanks to them, we were able to relax and enjoy the rest of our trip with peace of mind. I would definitely love to return again. Thank you for such a wonderful time!

    The courteous and friendly service left a strong impression. Both breakfast and dinner were carefully prepared using local ingredients, making for a very satisfying experience. The view was wonderful, and the Room was comfortable.

    It’s tough if you can’t drink shochu.

    This is a wonderful Hotel and highly recommended. The selection of shochu and craft beer is impressive and very well stocked, so it’s a great fit for guests who enjoy shochu and beer. However, if you only drink sake or wine, you may find it lacking, as the selection was limited and the quality and management were not very good. The food was delicious Amami-style cuisine made with local ingredients. However, the curry served at breakfast on the third day was not good. For breakfast, choosing Japanese or Western set meals is recommended. The Room was very clean, and the open-air bath on the terrace was excellent.

    Our first family trip became a truly memorable experience.

    Close to the airport, yet very quiet—I was soothed by the sound of the waves and birds. A great location with ocean views. Being able to walk from the Hotel to the sandy beach was a Point that made our kids especially happy. The outdoor bath was also wonderful. We didn’t use the pool yet, but the vast Geo Park in nature was the best playground of all. All of the staff were kind and spoke warmly to our children, who seemed to really enjoy it. Sunny Amami and rainy Amami were each beautiful in their own way. Every meal was delicious, beautifully presented, and generously portioned—we were completely satisfied.

    Wonderful Hotel

    I stayed here for the first time in five years. The warm welcome and hospitality were just as wonderful as before, and the Facilities have been renovated, making my stay even more comfortable. As I felt last time as well, the meals at this Hotel are truly outstanding. If you stay here, I definitely recommend booking a plan that includes meals. It’s one of my favorite places, and I’d love to visit again.

    We had a great time.

    We had a wonderful time again—our first visit in seven years. We chose to stay this time because we remembered how welcoming the Hotel staff were. My wife and I talked about it, and while we loved the atmosphere before, we were also very satisfied after the renovation, so we’d like to bring our grandchildren next time.

    I had a relaxing stay.

    I stayed for one night. The staff were kind and had various conversations with me. I also enjoyed viewing the Oshima Tsumugi exhibit, where a specialist provided explanations. The meals featured delicious specialties from Amami. The room had a view of the ocean, was well-cleaned, and felt very fresh and tidy. For Multiple Night Stays, cleaning starts from the third day, and the natural-style amenities gave it a different atmosphere compared to city hotels—something unique to Amami's focus on nature preservation. I was satisfied with the quiet and relaxing stay. One small curiosity was that the original coffee in the room came in tea bags instead of drip bags. I’ve rarely seen coffee powder in tea bags before, so I wondered if it might have been a mistake? But it wasn’t a big deal at all!

    I was deeply impressed by the thoughtfulness of the staff.

    The Hotel was very comfortable and cozy. The view from the terrace was beautiful, and the restaurant offered delicious local Amami cuisine. Even the glassware was elegant and lovely. Inside the Hotel, there were beautiful art pieces by Tanaka Isson and Oshima Tsumugi on display and for sale. The postcards of Tanaka Isson's works were particularly captivating. I sincerely thank all the staff. After check-out, we had car trouble, but they promptly contacted the rental car company and even drove us to the airport, ensuring we made our flight on time. Thank you so much!

    Delicious Breakfast

    The breakfast we were looking forward to was carefully prepared, well-balanced, visually appealing, and absolutely delicious. The private bath was also very relaxing. (However, I tripped on the step in front of Elevator B1 and hurt my foot badly—please be careful. The wooden protrusion of the bed in the Room is similar—watch out for that too.) It was disappointing that the sensor light in the Room wasn't improved, making it hard to go to the bathroom at night without disturbance. The Oshima Tsumugi Museum across the street had excellent explanations and was worth visiting.

    Visit Amami Oshima for this Hotel.

    It was such an amazing Hotel that it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say it was perfect. The meals, the ocean view from the window, the staff, the star-filled sky—everything was a supreme experience of surprise and relaxation. The private bath was absolutely divine, and I loved it! I would definitely love to visit again. Thank you very much!

    A Hotel with Excellent Rooms and Meals!

    We stayed as a family of four in a 33m² ocean view room. The room was spacious, clean, and offered stunning views, making our time at the accommodation very enjoyable. The sea right in front had incredible clarity, which amazed the whole family. The private bath was large and perfect for relaxing; our children loved it so much they used it every day. Above all, the meals were delicious! Both breakfast and dinner were highly satisfying. Highly recommended if you're visiting Amami Oshima!

    Exceeded expectations, very satisfied with the Facility.

    Warm and heartfelt service from the staff. While many facilities nowadays do not provide meals, both dinner and breakfast here were handmade with delicate care, exceeding expectations in satisfaction. I usually don't rely much on reviews of various facilities, but I now have another ryokan I want to visit again. If there's one suggestion for improvement, it would be to add chairs on the balcony so guests can leisurely enjoy the starry sky or sunrise. However, this is truly a wonderful ryokan. Thank you very much!

    I planned a trip to ...

    I planned a trip to Amami Oshima to see the paintings of Tanaka Isson on-site and chose this Hotel for the first night as it is close to both the airport and the museum. The food incorporating Amami ingredients was very delicious, and the view of the sea from my Room's window was wonderful. I also found the Oshima Tsumugi Museum inside the Hotel very interesting. It was a highly satisfying stay.

    A wonderful Hotel with a sense of cleanliness!

    I have been staying here every year for the past few years. The Hotel offers excellent accessibility to the airport and leisure spots, making it very convenient. Although it is unfortunate that the large public bath has been removed, the newly introduced private baths are of equally high quality. However, I was slightly concerned about the waiting time. I enjoyed a creative Japanese course meal; everything was delicious, but the slightly luxurious chicken rice stood out as exceptional compared to standard versions. This is a Hotel I would love to visit again. Thank you for your always kind and attentive service!

    A wonderful Hotel.

    It was a wonderful Hotel. We enjoyed two Rooms, "Isson" and "Moon," for two days. The breakfast and dinner were exceptional, with dishes so stylish that it felt almost wasteful to eat them. The service was excellent, and the Shuttle Service to and from the airport was very convenient. The hotel also houses the Oshima Tsumugi Art Museum, where the guide had extensive knowledge about Isson. Despite our limited time, they provided a precise 10-minute tour as requested. This sparked my interest in Isson, and I plan to learn more in the future. Walking along the beach was enjoyable as well. During our stay, we used taxis which seemed slightly expensive but understandable given the limited number of drivers in this area. Snorkeling at the beach and canoeing through mangroves were also fun activities that made our Amami trip truly memorable. It was a delightful Hotel where we could stay with peace of mind!

    Would love to stay again.

    First trip to Amami Oshima for 2 nights and 3 days. While searching for an accommodation with ocean views and meals included, I found Tidamoon. The view from the hotel was amazing. The night sky full of stars and the sunrise were exceptionally beautiful. The meals were very delicious. Using local ingredients, the dishes truly reflected the essence of Amami Oshima, with beautiful presentation and tableware. Since we stayed for 2 nights, we opted for Japanese breakfast on the first day and Western breakfast on the second day to avoid repetition in menu content. For dinner, we chose shabu-shabu on the first night and a course meal on the second night—both were incredibly tasty with generous portions. The room was neither too big nor too small—just right in size. However, it was disappointing that the unit bath in our room felt cheap like a business hotel’s bathroom. Another downside was that amenities like cotton swabs and shower caps were not provided. During check-in, they explained that toothbrushes provided in rooms do not come with toothpaste; hence I requested a regular toothbrush with toothpaste. There are two private baths available without reservation if vacant at your desired time; luckily it worked out well during our stay but might feel insufficient during busy hours. A large public bath would be a great addition. Overall, this accommodation exceeded expectations! I’d love to stay here again if given another opportunity!

    A Hotel That Embodies the Pride of Amami

    Before the rainy season, I decided to visit Amami and chose this accommodation for a relaxing stay. Since I didn’t want the hassle of finding a place to eat, I had lunch at the restaurant before check-in. While the menu didn’t offer many options and made me slightly anxious, the pasta dish I ordered was incredibly delicious. It seems that they don’t always serve the same menu but rather create dishes using ingredients available during that season, reflecting their commitment to providing quality meals. This approach was evident in both dinner and breakfast as well. As for the room, it featured a mix of Bali-inspired furnishings and Oshima Tsumugi textiles, creating an exceptionally comfortable atmosphere. The amenities were excellent too; I even experienced using a toothbrush that doesn’t require toothpaste for the first time—a unique opportunity to try something new in this hotel setting. The ocean view from my room added to its tranquility (the full moon during my stay made for stunning moonlight). This was my first trip to Amami, but it felt like visiting an overseas hotel due to how friendly all staff members were while also sensing their deep love for Amami and dedication to preserving its culture. This has become one of those places I’d love to revisit—and perhaps it’s because of staying at this hotel! It’s perfect for those seeking a calm and peaceful getaway without any hustle or bustle.

    Accommodation with Excellent Dinner and Breakfast

    This accommodation focuses on meals. While the beds and baths are innovative, there is room for improvement. The large TV was great, and being able to watch YouTube was a nice touch. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent. The brown sugar shochu was also delightful!

    Enjoy the stunning scenery, delicious cuisine, and excellent service of Amami.

    I went to Amami Oshima for a 2-night, 3-day trip. I chose Hotel Tidamoon, run by a company that preserves Oshima Tsumugi textiles, as their meals featured authentic Amami Oshima cuisine—Done! The hotel faces Tsuchihama Beach, offering an ocean view. From the room's bed, I could see the sunrise. On the first day, Kikaijima Island was clearly visible. For meals, on the first day we enjoyed traditional island dishes with rare and unique items. On the second day, it was creative Japanese cuisine featuring unusual ingredients like Akamatsu sea bream—it was delicious! Breakfasts were also traditional island-style Japanese meals. What left a lasting impression about this hotel was undoubtedly the excellent service from all staff members. On the evening of our first day, we toured the Oshima Tsumugi Museum located on the hotel's second floor with detailed explanations provided by staff. On our final day, we visited an Oshima Tsumugi workshop across from the hotel and observed every step of their dyeing process explained by an expert with over 50 years of experience while moving through various parts of the workshop. My wife, who loves kimonos, was absolutely delighted! This trip made me appreciate how such personalized services are possible because of this hotel's scale—it was truly wonderful! I would definitely recommend this hotel to acquaintances and friends alike.

    Breakfast is exceptionally delicious.

    I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay, and the ocean view from the Room was stunning. The meals at the restaurant were very delicious, especially breakfast, which my wife described as dishes that made her body happy. We enjoyed both Japanese and Western cuisine, and both were excellent. Additionally, the private bath available when not occupied was spacious and comfortable. While I would like to give a perfect score, there were some inconveniences. The bathroom in our Room lacked a washing area and had only a thin curtain separating it from the sink area, making it less user-friendly. Also, when going to the entrance or toilet at night, an automatic light would turn on suddenly in complete darkness, waking me up abruptly. Since there was no partition between this bright area and the Room itself, my sleeping wife also complained about it. As we get older and need to use the restroom twice during the night on average, having such strong lights turn on each time was tough for both of us. However, even after staying at another more expensive Hotel for two nights afterward, we found ourselves preferring this Hotel overall. We will definitely consider staying here again during our next visit!

    Stayed for 2 nights. The view from the Hotel was indescribably beautiful. It's unfortunate that the bath was under construction (couldn't use it, so the rating is two stars), and the beach in front was closed for swimming, but I was moved by the kindness and friendliness of the Hotel staff that made up for it. The exhibition room on the second floor was very interesting. For dinner, I had black pork shabu-shabu, and the medicinal soup was incredibly delicious. I had both Japanese and Western breakfast, but the Japanese one was better. The night tour introduced by the Hotel was also very enjoyable and became a great memory. The overall rating was undoubtedly the best.

    I'm glad I went.

    When you arrive and the automatic doors open, you are greeted by a view of the ocean. It already lifts your spirits. The view from the Room is also of the ocean. I heard that on a clear day, you can perfectly see the sunrise, but winters in Amami Oshima are often cloudy, which is a bit different from the clear skies of Tokyo. For dinner, I chose local cuisine. The lobster miso soup is luxurious, and the local dishes are made with rare ingredients that can't be found elsewhere. I received explanations and, as reputed, was very satisfied. The explanation about the Oshima Tsumugi Art Museum was indeed very good. The explanations and works are impressive, but the demeanor of the person who provided the explanation was beautiful, and the love for the local area shown by everyone at the Hotel was a unique and moving experience.
