    We had a wonderful summer experience.

    A Resort Hotel where you can enjoy a private pool, private sauna, and private Onsen without leaving your Room or seeing anyone—just complete privacy. It felt like Ubud in Bali. Being able to order meals via room service exactly as you like, with no restrictions on the number of portions, was truly appreciated. I can’t believe such a wonderful place was so close! I’d love to visit again.

    The Best Accommodation

    This was our first stay. We stayed here to celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary! The location is right in front of Kamogawa Sea World. They kindly let us park a little early, so we were able to visit Sea World as well. From the warm welcome to the guidance on how to enter the Room, we were truly impressed by the butler’s kindness. The welcome drink—pear juice—was delicious, and we even bought some at the shop! The Room was incredibly spacious and spotless. It was also wonderful to be able to see the pool from the living room. We thought we would lay out futons in the tatami room connected to the living area, but there was a separate bedroom further inside—so much space! It felt like a luxurious Room for just two of us. The terrace pool, jacuzzi, and sauna all maintained a truly private atmosphere, which made us feel at ease. Now we understand why it’s limited to only five Rooms. We also appreciated being able to enjoy the drinks at the bar counter and in the refrigerator. We love saunas, so we fully relaxed and recharged. The round ice provided as an alternative for löyly was a nice touch too! Another highlight was that the amenities included THREE cosmetics. The open-air bath in the Room was clean, and the soft water felt amazing—we used it three times. The shower ceiling is made of hinoki cypress as well, with a wonderful scent that felt very calming. There were plenty of towels provided, and we were grateful for their kind words: “Please let us know if you need more.” In the evening, we enjoyed à la carte dishes and drinks at Kamogawa-kan’s restaurant, and in the morning we chose in-room dining. It was incredibly thoughtful that each of us could order different Japanese- or Western-style options. We were so happy. We both agreed there’s no better Accommodation—and promised each other we’ll definitely come back! Next time, we’d love a Multiple Night Stay.

    A Hotel with unbeatable Facilities, service, and value for money

    The fully private pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and open-air bath were amazing! The pool in particular was perfect for our family to enjoy freely without worrying about others. The breakfast room service was also delicious, making for a luxurious morning. Despite the excellent Facility and high-level service, the value for money was outstanding—we were truly impressed. We will definitely stay again!

    A private pool to get you excited starting the day before your trip!

    I stay at various Accommodations throughout the year, but this is simply the best place. The heated private pool is the most fun, and it feels like summer doesn’t start until I come here every year. In addition to the open-air Onsen bath and jacuzzi, there’s finally a sauna as well. We were advised to use the jacuzzi as a cold plunge, and after that, jumping into the pool made it feel like one huge cold bath too! It was truly so much fun. This year we chose room service for both dinner and breakfast, so we could relax without worrying about anyone else. We also really appreciated our butler’s thoughtful attention (such as replacing the ice in our ice bucket without being asked) and enjoyed our little chats. We look forward to seeing you again next year.

    The Ultimate Relaxing Accommodation

    We stayed here for the first time to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Walking along the outdoor corridor with a Bali-like atmosphere, we arrived at our Room. The Room comes with an open-air bath, as well as a pool, jacuzzi, and sauna, making it easy to relax and unwind. The service was attentive without being intrusive, with thoughtful care even in the small details, so we felt very comfortable throughout our stay. We also appreciated being able to choose our preferred dining location. It was an Accommodation where our whole family agreed we’d love to stay again—an incredibly relaxing place.

    A wonderful villa where you can enjoy a tropical resort atmosphere

    It was a wonderful villa that made us feel like we were at a tropical resort. With a private pool, villa sauna, and even an Onsen, it felt truly special and we were very satisfied. Some villa Accommodations can be a bit disappointing when it comes to meals, but here both dinner and breakfast were properly delicious, and we were happy to enjoy them slowly with in-Room dining. The service was also courteous, and we had a pleasant stay throughout. The Room was clean overall and very comfortable. Since it is surrounded by nature, there were some insects, but that’s understandable. The only slight downside was that even though we checked out early, the breakfast time slots were full and we could only choose 9:30. It would have been even more comfortable if earlier times had been available. Overall, this Accommodation offered a high level of satisfaction, and it’s a place I would like to stay at again.

    Enjoyable Stay

    I was really looking forward to this place once I found out it has Facilities where you can enjoy all my favorites—pool, Onsen, jacuzzi, sauna—in a private space! The room had an overseas vibe with Bali-style interior design and greenery. The amenities were excellent, and there were two vanity areas and two washing areas, so you can relax and take your time. I went with my husband, but it also seems great for a group trip. The staff were kind and made us feel very comfortable. The meals were fairly standard, so next time I’d like to try something different like teppanyaki.

    We truly indulged ou...

    We truly indulged ourselves. From the neighboring Kamogawa-kan, you open one door, and beyond the next door is a private space accessible only with an Accommodation key. The villa Room is very spacious, with a living room, a Japanese-style room, and a bedroom. And above all: a sauna, jacuzzi, pool, and open-air bath. We even bought swimsuits just to use the pool and jacuzzi… Unfortunately it rained, but when it let up we went in and enjoyed them. In the Room, Balinese music was playing on CD, creating a Bali-like atmosphere. The double-size bed was also impressive. We chose a breakfast-only Plan and used room service. Each grain of rice was firm and delicious. We enjoyed sea bream with sesame sauce as well—turning it into ochazuke—and for us the side dishes were more than enough to savor. Thanks to two butlers for their comfortable guidance; we were very satisfied.

    Thank you very much.

    This was our fifth stay at the villa, and each time you kindly assigned us a different Room, which kept it feeling fresh. The flowers were beautifully cared for every time, and this time our Room even had a cherry blossom tree beside the jacuzzi—such a luxurious space. The staff’s hospitality was warm and attentive, and we were able to relax both physically and mentally. Thank you very much as well for your thoughtful birthday gesture for my husband. The sauna was wonderful, but there was one concern: although there is no emergency button inside the sauna, the in-Room phone had been removed and replaced with a system where you scan an app on your mobile phone to make calls. Both my husband and I tried, but we couldn’t get through—after the ringing stopped it went silent and disconnected for me, and it didn’t work for him even after unlocking the microphone. With no emergency button in the sauna, I felt it would have been better to still have a phone available. We would love to visit again, so we’re looking forward to seeing how things are next time.

    An Accommodation with Exceptional Hospitality

    We visited as a group of four to celebrate a friend’s 60th birthday. After the renovation, a sauna has been added in the garden, and it was great to enjoy the unheated bath as a cold plunge. For dinner, we chose in-Room dining with an Ise lobster set meal and an abalone set meal, plus an additional boat platter; everyone was amazed by the delicious sashimi—there was more than we could finish. We had a truly relaxing stay and felt the Hotel’s thoughtful attention to detail throughout the Room.

    Would love to visit again.

    The private pool is absolutely amazing. There is also a private open-air bath and jacuzzi, so I warmed up when I got cold and repeated swimming again. The price is high, but the satisfaction level is equally high. For dinner, we ordered a boat platter and rice set for two in the Room, but it was enough for three people to share. It’s very cost-effective. For breakfast, you can choose between a buffet, in-Room breakfast, or lunch at the restaurant; this time we opted for lunch. While it was delicious, it might offer the least value among the options. Next time, I plan to try breakfast in the Room instead. Thank you very much to all Hotel staff for your hospitality!

    I was able to relax and unwind away from daily life.

    Third stay. A spacious room and an open-air bath accessible anytime. Although the private pool and jacuzzi were too chilly to use, just looking at them was enjoyable. This time, the butler was particularly cheerful, attentive, and excellent in their care. While it's common for champagne to be provided as a stay benefit, it's rare for someone to replace the ice without being asked. Since it takes me some time to finish a bottle on my own, this thoughtful gesture was much appreciated. The friendly interactions in other moments also made my stay very comfortable. Next time, I plan to have a multiple night stay and relax even more leisurely.

    A place you'll love to visit again and again.

    This was my 8th visit. (I have stayed in all the rooms.) The room had high ceilings and was spacious, allowing my elderly mother to stay comfortably every time, which we are very satisfied with. Although I hadn’t mentioned it was a birthday, the staff noticed us toasting during the meal and kindly prepared a fruit plate with a “Happy Birthday” message. It made me very happy. There were more free drink options than before, including an increased selection of alcoholic beverages. I had no inconveniences during my stay and would love to visit this accommodation again. It would be even better if there were facilities for drying or draining swimsuits and similar items.

    It is not due to the accommodation.

    I booked the accommodation hoping for a private pool and had a very enjoyable stay. The staff were attentive and provided good service. The bath was at a comfortable temperature, perfect for a long, relaxing soak. I opted for the breakfast buffet, but it seemed more family-oriented with many small children present. While overall satisfied, I felt I made the wrong choice as I was looking for a quieter breakfast experience. Dinner was delicious and served in just the right portions.

    Skimming leaves from the pool can also be a fun activity...

    Visiting at the beginning of summer has become a tradition for us. I always feel that this might be the only place in the Kanto region where you can enjoy a private pool so affordably. We had dinner at Yoshidaya for the first time in a while, but it felt like the quality had slightly declined compared to before (such as the freshness of sashimi). It might be worth putting in a bit more effort there. Breakfast was served via room service and, as usual, it was problem-free and satisfying. That said, the private pool is truly exceptional!

    I had a relaxing and leisurely time!

    We have stayed at the main building several times since our children were young, but this was our first visit to the annex. Therefore, we checked IKYU and the official website multiple times before making a reservation. The room, bath, and pool were exactly as clean and beautiful as shown in the photos. The butlers' attentiveness and warm smiles made for an excellent experience. For dinner, we considered going to our favorite Yoshidaya, but since it was a one-night stay, we opted for in-room Japanese meals for both breakfast and dinner—all of which were delicious. Based on reviews, we brought instant miso soup with us; however, both breakfast and dinner included warm and tasty miso soup along with delicious hot tea (laughs). If I may add one suggestion—it would be nice to have a menu description of the dishes served during dinner. To everyone at La Shoro: thanks to you all, we had a relaxing and luxurious time. Thank you very much—we will visit again!

    Everything was satisfactory, but...

    The service was attentive in every aspect. However, it was a bit disappointing that despite being informed by the Hotel about the Diamond Member benefit of early check-in, we couldn't check in until we initiated the process ourselves due to staff being occupied with other guests. There might be a lack of internal communication among the staff.

    Too luxurious

    Being surrounded by nature, there were some leaves and small fruits from the trees falling into the pool, as well as minor dirt, but that’s understandable. The space was incredibly large, the interior was beautifully designed, and everything was kept clean despite its size, making it very comfortable. You can relax in the living room and watch movies or choose between a bed or a Japanese-style room to sleep depending on your mood. Regarding the guest room loungewear, it would be great if they could improve the buttons as they were hard to fasten. The open-air bath was amazing and very relaxing. Amenities were plentiful with plenty of towels provided so you can enjoy baths at night and in the morning. We also enjoyed using the pool multiple times. The hairdryer provided was high-quality; however, having a hair iron available would be even better. Overall, we had an extremely satisfying stay—thank you!

    Relax and unwind.

    This was my second stay. During my first visit, I used the lounge at "Fuko," but compared to other Ryokan lounges, it lacked draft beer and had a limited selection of snacks. Despite staff being present, they didn’t restock items, so I decided not to use it again. However, the Room was very comfortable and perfect for relaxing. The private Onsen in the room was incredibly soothing and left my skin feeling smooth. With plenty of towels and bath mats provided, I enjoyed multiple baths. The welcome sweets during my first visit seemed tastier than this time. Also, there were summer oranges last time that weren’t available this time, which was a bit disappointing as I had been looking forward to them with drinks. At the shop, I noticed loquat jelly and asked the cashier if it was good. They mentioned that there should be some in the room’s refrigerator for tasting; however, when I checked later, there wasn’t any inside. Still, I purchased it anyway and found it delicious when eaten at home. For meals, room service is highly recommended! During my first stay, we opted for breakfast at the buffet but found it noisy with many children around. Having breakfast in our Room allowed us to enjoy a quiet and delicious meal at our own pace. I chose Japanese cuisine—it would have been better if hot dishes were served hotter—but everything tasted great overall. My husband and son chose Western-style breakfast; although bread was served without butter initially (which made me wonder if that’s how it's usually done), after calling reception they brought over a basket with butter and jam after some time—though quicker service would have been appreciated. While there are minor areas for improvement here or there overall this Ryokan offers an excellent experience! With checkout available until 12 PM you can truly relax before leaving! Unfortunately both visits coincided w/ bad weather preventing us from enjoying their pool facilities—next time we look forward specifically toward experiencing those too!

    Delicious rice from terraced fields!

    It was my first stay, but I was extremely satisfied with the luxurious and spacious room with an open-air bath, in-room dining, and the pleasant hospitality of the staff, including the butler. The "Tanada Rice" from Oyama Senmaida served during the meal was very delicious. Next time, I would like to enjoy dining at the restaurant within the facility.

    The Room is nice, but...

    This was my first stay at the accommodation. The room, while showing some age, was clean and well-maintained. The facilities were also excellent. Allow me to mention a few disappointing points: The butler was not wearing a mask. I often stay at accommodations in the same price range several times a year, and during interactions or meal service, all staff members usually wear masks. However, an older female staff member who guided us to the special lounge at Kamogawa-kan wore a mask properly and left a very good impression. What disappointed me most was the dining experience. I had made a reservation at Kamogawa-kan's restaurant and was looking forward to it; however, while I understand they were busy, dishes that should have been served warm were cold instead. Additionally, instead of individual servings for two people, we were given one large plate with instructions to divide it ourselves—perhaps out of convenience? In our private room as well, we could hear loud voices from families staying at Kamogawa-kan nearby. If this had been communicated beforehand by the butler, we might have opted for room service instead—it’s unfortunate this wasn’t addressed. On the other hand, breakfast was delicious and enjoyable!

    We are a couple in our 60s and stayed at Villa La Shoro for 2 nights and 3 days to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. The building, room, facilities, and the service provided by the butler exceeded what we had imagined from the facility information on IKYU's website during the reservation process. Everything was wonderful, and we had a very comfortable stay. Thank you very much. We would love to visit again!

    Disappointing every time...

    The service level here is consistently disappointing. Rather than low service quality, it feels like the kitchen staff are not genuinely working for the guests. As a result, not only does the food quality suffer, but also the overall service seems to decline. It gives an impression of an outdated structure where the service team has to cater to the kitchen's needs. During breakfast buffets, staff are rarely present outside, and at dinner, for some reason, kitchen staff bring out sashimi (perhaps as part of training so they can understand external operations better). However, they seem indifferent and simply place dishes without any explanation... It's terrible. The timing of dishes, their quality, and inability to make additional orders reflect a self-centered restaurant approach that makes me increasingly reluctant to use Yoshidaya again. It's truly unfortunate because while guest rooms and indoor usability are good and Kamogawa's location is excellent. I hope they consider hiring a skilled chef or head chef soon. Additionally, if offering butler services is part of their concept, it should be more professional. Currently: Facility - Grade 1; Service - Grade 3 image comes to mind. Therefore, I cannot recommend this place for those looking forward to enjoying their trip; it's only suitable for those who prefer staying in solitude.

    A place of relaxation

    It was a relaxing Property close to the city center. The staff was polite and always had a smile when speaking. As for the meals, I didn't have high expectations based on the reviews, and indeed, it was a bit disappointing for the level of the Property. However, I was happy staying at this Property, so I would consider coming back.

    Satisfying Room Bath

    I was able to spend a relaxing time during my second stay. The private space and the Room's bath are very nice. The amenities are well-equipped, allowing you to spend most of your time without leaving the Room. Recommended for those who want to spend more time in the Room. The food gives the impression of quantity over quality. It was disappointing that the tea served at breakfast had become lukewarm.

    It was such a wonder...

    It was such a wonderful Property that I would want to stay here once a year. Staying in the villa was exceptional and gave a special feeling. Having a butler present provided a great sense of security and was very reassuring. At night, we ordered a Western course meal for around 5000 yen at the regular dining area. The portion was just right, and it was incredibly delicious. I would love to visit again. Thank you very much.
