    We visited for our wedding anniversary. Although it was unfortunately raining, we had a very comfortable stay. When we went out for an evening walk, we had given up on seeing the sunset over Lake Shinji due to the rain, but miraculously, we were able to witness a beautiful sunset. The meals, both breakfast and dinner, were incredibly delicious, and we finished everything without leaving any behind. Additionally, since it was our wedding anniversary, we were surprised to receive a gift from the Ryokan. We will cherish and use it together with my husband. It was such a kind gesture and made for a wonderful trip. Thank you very much!

    This time, we stayed in a special room. The room's bath was an onsen with free-flowing hot spring water, and the temperature was just right and very pleasant. The hospitality was very comfortable, with thoughtful attention to detail, making it an accommodation we would love to visit again.

    It was excellent!

    I was looking for an accommodation with a view of Lake Shinji from the room, and it was exactly as shown in the photos. I was very satisfied to see the sunset over Lake Shinji from the open-air bath! I reserved a barrier-free room, and everything was perfectly arranged, making my elderly parents very happy. The meals were adjusted to match my parents' pace, and they also carefully accommodated ingredients they couldn't eat. I truly appreciate their thoughtfulness. If I have another reason to visit Matsue, I will definitely stay here again.

    The view from the Room's window was breathtaking, and every meat dish was excellent, leaving us completely satisfied. The free drinks available in the lobby were much appreciated, allowing us to relax and enjoy the scenery at our leisure. We would love to stay here again. Thank you very much!

    Right in front of Lake Shinji. Amazing!

    The view of Lake Shinji from the room was breathtaking. I enjoyed a luxurious and relaxing time soaking in the Onsen while gazing at Lake Shinji. The Facility was clean, and the staff were very kind and attentive. The grilled conger eel for breakfast was delicious. (This time, I chose a breakfast-only Plan.) Since it is barrier-free, I would like to come again with my parents next time. I had a very pleasant stay. Thank you very much!

    Highly Satisfied!

    This was my first visit. The view from the Room was just as I imagined, the Room was clean, and both dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious. The open-air bath was amazing! The staff were very kind, and I was extremely satisfied! I wish I could have stayed for several nights instead of just one. I would love to stay here again when I visit Shimane Prefecture.

    The Room was spacious, with a sofa, allowing for a relaxing stay. Although dinner was at the latest time slot, every dish was delicious and enjoyable. Due to flight cancellations caused by bad weather, our sightseeing became rushed. However, when we mentioned the places we wanted to visit during breakfast time that day, staff kindly provided pamphlets and maps and even explained how to worship at Izumo Taisha Shrine. We couldn't visit all the places we planned, but thanks to their help, we had a meaningful time. Thank you very much!

    Exceptional hospitality and comfort—this is the perfect description. I had an incredibly relaxing and refreshing stay. The meals were absolutely delicious, with beautiful presentation and exquisite flavors in every dish. The hot spring water was so soothing that I could soak endlessly. A delightful dessert awaited in the Room, adding to my happiness. Both the Room and linens were impeccably clean, allowing me to fully unwind. From the Room, I enjoyed a luxurious private view of Lake Shinji's stunning scenery. The service was excellent as well. I will definitely visit again—thank you from the bottom of my heart!

    A shortage of taxis in Matsue City made for a disappointing stay.

    At check-in, I requested a taxi reservation for dinner in Matsue City, but was informed that it was not possible due to a shortage of taxis in the area. Instead, I was handed a list of contact numbers. The check-in process felt lengthy with a three-page explanatory pamphlet, and receiving room wear, the pamphlet, and keys all at once left my hands full, making it somewhat difficult to unlock the room door. After entering the room, I immediately called all the taxi companies on the provided list but was told by every company that "last-minute reservations are impossible" (one phone number on the list was incorrect). In over 35°C heat, walking what would have been a 10-minute taxi ride seemed unfeasible. Ultimately, I had to research bus schedules myself and found there were only two buses per hour. This forced me to leave much earlier than planned for dinner and made my schedule rushed; as a result, I couldn't fully enjoy the onsen. When booking this one-night stay with breakfast plan, it would have been appreciated if potential transportation challenges for dining out had been considered or communicated beforehand. The lack of prior guidance about local transportation options fell short of expectations for hospitality at a high-end ryokan. Dealing with multiple local taxi companies—some using rough language—and being repeatedly declined in an unfamiliar area left me feeling anxious and disheartened. Even if securing reservations wasn't possible directly through staff assistance during check-in would have been greatly appreciated. The next morning's taxi reservation also required last-minute arrangements; fortunately one company accepted my request just in time. However, thinking about how I might have struggled to reach Matsue Station without securing this reservation is unsettling. The room itself was clean and comfortable—a good choice for stays including both dinner and breakfast (provided transportation is secured). However—and this bears repeating—ensuring reliable transport options is crucial. Additionally, there were issues with bath design: located on an exposed second floor visible from outside unless blinds are closed. These blinds are positioned beyond reach from washing areas; adjusting them requires either stepping into the tub after undressing (while still visible from outside) or precariously walking along its edge while clothed—a risky maneuver that could lead to serious injury if one slips. It’s unclear what usage scenario this design intends to accommodate safely or comfortably.

    It was excellent!

    The dinner and breakfast were delicious, and the staff, including the room attendants and dining service staff, were very kind and attentive, making our stay extremely satisfying. The private open-air bath in the Room was also a delight as we could use it without worrying about time. The futon was clean and comfortable. This has become a Ryokan we would love to stay at again.

    I booked a Japanese-style room because the futon in the photo looked thick, but getting up and down was difficult due to my bad knees. I should have chosen a Western-style room with a bed. The bath included an open-air onsen in the room and a large public bath with an ocean view. Both were clean, and the onsen was excellent. Breakfast was outstanding. The large Shijimi clams from Lake Shinji were delicious, and the grilled Anago eel from Oda was exceptional. However, having to put shoes in the shoe box before entering the room felt inconvenient. Foreign guests might enjoy this aspect though.

    I'm glad I chose this place.

    I previously stayed here on a business trip and wanted to return, so I brought my mother and sister this time. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious and visually delightful. The welcome sweets were also very tasty. My mother is quite particular about food, but the staff kindly accommodated her preferences, and she finished every dish. The large windows offering a panoramic view of Lake Shinji were refreshing. Although we couldn't see the sunset this time, I would love to stay again. Next time, I'm looking forward to trying the spa services!

    A truly exceptional Ryokan

    This was my first time using this service. I chose a Room with a private open-air bath. The Room was absolutely stunning. The view of Lake Shinji and the open-air bath were simply amazing. I believe anyone would be satisfied. I would love to visit again!

    Highly satisfied!

    The welcome drink and room amenities were excellent! I thought I might need to buy extra drinks, but everything was perfectly sufficient. The open-air bath in the room was spacious and clean, and I also enjoyed using the large public bath multiple times. Both dinner and breakfast featured plenty of locally sourced ingredients, which were absolutely delicious! I would love to stay here again. Thank you so much!

    The hospitality is excellent.

    Late April, Friday to Saturday stay. It was a fulfilling experience. The private room with a bath had a special feel, and the location offering a panoramic view of the lake was excellent. The service at the front desk, including guidance and explanations, was clear and reassuring. During meals, the accommodations made for my pregnant daughter were satisfactory (we had informed them in advance). If I were to make a suggestion, it would be helpful to have more information about other tourist attractions in Shimane Prefecture or even printed guides available. After visiting Izumo Taisha Shrine, we stayed at this accommodation and later stopped by the Starbucks near the lake (the service there was also excellent; we did not experience any issues as mentioned in some reviews). We then visited Adachi Museum of Art before heading home (we skipped Matsue Castle recommended by the front desk staff due to my elderly mother’s condition but plan to visit next time). One minor point: during breakfast, one staff member spoke quite quickly when explaining things, making it difficult for my 88-year-old mother to follow along. That said, these are minor details—overall our stay was very comfortable and enjoyable. Both pick-up and drop-off services were pleasant experiences as well. Thank you to all staff members including those at reception, chefs, and cleaning crew!

    I would like to visit again.

    I made a reservation after reading the reviews, and it was just as described—excellent. The food exceeded my expectations. The public bath was clean and well-maintained. The ice bars available in the public bath, made by Daisen Dairy, were very delicious. Everything felt thoughtful and genuine, truly representing Shimane (I love Shimane). I will visit again!

    Completely satisfied.

    It was my first time, but the room was easy to use and comfortable. I enjoyed the view from the private open-air bath and the expansive night sky, making for a relaxing bath experience. Meals were served in a private dining room, allowing for a calm dining experience. The dishes featured plenty of ingredients from San'in, and everything was delicious. Since it seems that each room has a different interior design, I found it intriguing and would love to stay in another room if I have the chance.

    Modern and luxurious accommodation

    The room had large windows with a great view and included an onsen bath, making it easy to fully enjoy the time spent there despite being on a no meals included plan. The public bath was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Complimentary drinks like coffee were available near the front desk, which we enjoyed during breakfast time. The amenities and room facilities were more than abundant. Overall, it was an accommodation that exceeded expectations; while it felt a bit luxurious for us, we would definitely stay here again if we visit Matsue in the future.

    The private open-air bath in the room is exceptional!

    We arrived early due to bad weather but enjoyed a relaxing welcome drink in the lobby. The private open-air bath in the guest room was constantly filled with hot water, allowing unlimited use throughout our stay—truly luxurious. There were plenty of yukatas and towels provided, which was very convenient.

    I was satisfied with all the facilities, services, bath, and meals. It was unfortunate that I couldn't see the view from the room, especially the sunset, due to the weather, but that's unavoidable. Also, it's a bit troublesome to have to take off slippers before entering the room; it would be nice if the entire property had tatami flooring, but that's a luxurious request. Anyway, this is one of the properties I would like to visit again. Thank you very much.

    Comfortable Stays

    The staff's response, in-house services, and breakfast were all extremely satisfying! I felt that the staff was very attentive and really looked after the guests. We hadn't requested a Shuttle Service, but when it suddenly started raining at our departure time and we were flustered, they quickly offered to take us to the station. It was really helpful. Thank you very much. The breakfast was well-balanced and everything was delicious. The handmade desserts by the staff were also wonderful! I was also pleased to be able to choose my favorite tea! This time our schedule was quite hectic, so next time I would like to stay more leisurely.
