    The Ultimate Luxury in Tateyama

We stayed here for a special anniversary. In short, the food and hospitality were outstanding. It had been a while since we’d eaten so many delicious dishes until we were completely full. The wine pairing was excellent, and every plate was beautiful. The hospitality was also top-notch. We really appreciated the staff’s kind words and warm attention. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much!!

    The Best Accommodation

The location, cuisine, service, and value for money were all excellent. The only downside was that the large public bath does not have an open-air bath, but this is made up for by the open-air bath in the Room. This is one of the few Accommodations that makes you want to come back.

    We had a relaxing stay.

It’s very popular and hard to make a Reservation, but I stayed again for the first time in a while. I was so tired that I fell asleep and was late for dinner, but they called to wake me up. It really helped. I brought my own red wine, but decanting wasn’t available, which was a bit disappointing.

    Despite the high price,

Despite the high price, the guest room was not good. It was old and inconvenient to use. For those Facilities, a price in the JPY 30,000 range would be reasonable. I would like you to review your pricing. The food was average.

No matter how many times I visit, it’s always amazing.

I’m always completely satisfied. I don’t usually return because I like to stay at different Hotels, but this place is the exception. The food, the Room, and the staff are all truly wonderful. I always find myself thinking, “Is this really worth this price?”

    The meals were extremely satisfying!

Since it was mentioned in a Review, I arrived with certain expectations, but it exceeded them. The wine pairing served with dinner was also outstanding. From the appetizers to the final dessert, every course felt like enjoying a work of art. In particular, the sparkling wine at the start and the California Chardonnay were exceptionally delicious. The open-air bath on the Room balcony was also wonderful—I soaked in it many times while enjoying the view, and it too surpassed my expectations. As for the Onsen, I was slightly surprised by how few washing stations there were, but considering the panoramic view and how spacious the baths are, I can’t complain. If I had one request, I would be happy to see more amenities such as hair irons and hair products in addition to hair dryers. The Classic Wing felt a bit compact this time, so next time I’d like to stay in the Prestige Wing. Thank you very much to all of your staff.

Thank you for your stay the other day.

We stayed here recently. It was great to be able to use the open-air bath in the Room whenever we wanted. We could tell the staff were working very hard, and we really appreciated it. It also seemed like they were practicing Japanese, which impressed us a lot. We had a very pleasant stay. My wife was especially happy as well, so we would definitely like to stay again. Thank you very much.

    The Room was small.

The meals were good, but the Room was small and the layout was inconvenient. There was also no shelf space at the head of the bed, so I couldn’t check my phone while it was charging. This trip was mainly to treat my wife, but this time it didn’t go over well.

    Always very satisfied.

I have stayed here several times and am always very satisfied. This time I couldn’t make it and booked it as a gift for my mother, but you upgraded her to a wonderful Room and she was delighted. Thank you very much for your thoughtful hospitality. I would be happy if the solo travel Plan could be brought back someday. I’ll visit again!

    Thank you for your support.

We stayed to celebrate a birthday. The dinner in the lounge was very satisfying. It was a full-course meal and took about two and a half hours, but it was so delicious (and we could enjoy drinks as well) that it didn’t feel long at all, and we had a wonderful time. They were truly happy with how good the food was. The international staff spoke Japanese well and assisted us politely. The staff serving the course meal were also courteous. However: - It was very disappointing that the cake we ordered was served without the candles we had requested on top. We had paid for the candles when ordering the cake. - We left a gift with you to be brought out with the cake, and it was delivered together. But afterward, while I was giving him the gift and he was opening it, a male staff member came in saying, “You can choose tomorrow’s breakfast.” That is honestly unacceptable timing. He loved the surprise so it worked out, but personally I had prepared a lot for this (and the stay is not inexpensive), so my expectations were high—and this really disappointed me. It should have been obvious he was opening a present, so I wish more consideration had been shown. Even though I gave him the gift at the very end, that moment ended abruptly and left an awkward atmosphere. - After such a large course meal, bringing out an entire size 5 Mont Blanc cake without even asking “Would you like to take it back to your Room?” felt lacking in consideration. Also, there seemed to be insufficient knowledge about ingredients and dishes. Given how much guests are paying, I think more training is necessary. As for the Room, considering it cost 70,000 yen per night, there were many areas where paint or finish seemed worn off on walls/doors; I felt we should have booked a Room over 100,000 yen instead. Personally I thought the Room felt small as well; if you addressed those worn areas on walls and doors, it would look much more luxurious. The open-air bath attached to the Room is fully visible from outside—you can be seen naked—so I feel some kind of countermeasure should be taken.

    I’m a returning guest.

The Classic Wing is a bit older, but the meals are the same, so it’s recommended if you plan to visit multiple times. Having a sink in the Room is convenient. The professional conduct of the international staff working in the dining area reflects their high level of training. We appreciate that they greet everyone with a smile rather than focusing only on regular guests. Some staff members have improved their Japanese since our last visit, and we’re looking forward to coming again.

    We chose this Accomm...

We chose this Accommodation as our last trip before the baby arrives, since children are not allowed to stay. The Accommodation itself was wonderful and gave us a great escape from everyday life. However, it seemed we were unlucky that day, as we were surrounded by: - a large group of Chinese guests - two loud, chatty ladies During dinner, the two ladies spent most of the time filming with their phones. They set up tripods in various places and talked loudly nonstop. Toward the end, perhaps after having quite a bit to drink, it felt like being in an izakaya or a food court. Meanwhile, at tables farther away, the large group of Chinese guests was partying loudly. It was extremely unpleasant. After dinner, the outdoor lounge was also taken over by the same group. They were filming, drinking, talking loudly, and burping repeatedly—so we left the lounge right away. The ladies who set up tripods and filmed freely even placed their camera on a table that is normally used for serving meals. A staff member said “No no, it’s fine,” but rather than allowing everything without limits, I believe some consideration or occasional reminders are necessary. We chose this Accommodation expecting an adults-only environment… but it turned into the worst one-night stay. The Hotel is not at fault—it’s an issue of guest manners. Also, there were far too long gaps between courses at dinner; it took over 2.5 hours in total.

    Truly excellent.

Hospitality, meals, and the room were all excellent. The foreign staff were well-trained and provided outstanding service. The size of the hotel was just right, as we hardly encountered other guests. My wife and I talked about wanting to visit about twice a year.

    Enjoy the view

The view from the hilltop Hotel was spectacular. The staff were all kind and made our stay very pleasant. There was one thing we noticed that could be improved. The temperature of the open-air bath in the Room and the Onsen in the large public bath was slightly low, which was disappointing despite the excellent quality of the spring water.

    It was a wonderful accommodation!

The hospitality from check-in to check-out was exceptional, with a clean room, delicious meals, and an overall satisfying experience! The Onsen had the perfect water temperature, allowing for a very relaxing time. Amenities were well-stocked, and the free-flow service in the lounge was excellent. I definitely want to visit again soon. Thank you very much!

    Good accommodation, but

Great accommodation with good rooms and beautiful views. However, I was surprised to hear that the onsen water is internally circulated and replaced only once a week. Although disinfectants are used, it could be risky if someone with a skin infection uses it.

    Satisfied.

Regarding this Room, here are two points for your reference: There is a boiler or some kind of Facility next to the open-air bath, and the operational noise was too loud, causing stress while using the bath. Additionally, while the terrace is spacious, it felt slightly uncomfortable to use due to the seating arrangement (a table resembling a sunken kotatsu where you sit on the floor). A simple setup with chairs and a table would have made it more enjoyable for activities like having coffee. It was disappointing given the great view. Other than that, I was satisfied.

A great location with views of the sunset and Mount Fuji.

The room on the 3rd floor had a spacious balcony, but it did not face the sunset. We enjoyed the sunset from the balcony of the lounge on the 8th floor instead. After sunset, Mount Fuji's silhouette became clearly visible and was very beautiful. Unfortunately, we couldn't use the coffee machine in the lounge on both days due to technical issues. The meals were slightly salty for our taste but visually appealing and delicious. Each dish was elegantly presented; however, portions might feel insufficient for men. The corn rice was particularly tasty! For breakfast, we chose Japanese cuisine with unlimited refills of side dishes, which was delightful. The siphon-brewed coffee served in the morning was also enjoyable and flavorful. Most staff members were non-Japanese but spoke fluent Japanese, so there were no inconveniences during our stay. While our stay was comfortable overall, there were a few concerns: - When asking foreign staff about food or location details, they simply smiled and said they didn’t know (two instances). It would have been better if they had sought answers from others instead of ending it there. - On the 7th floor public bath area, there were only three standing shower booths available without any space to sit down and wash leisurely; however, we could relax in our private open-air bath attached to our room. - The after-dinner coffee wasn’t good—one cup tasted too weak like tea while another cup tasted overly bitter with an unpleasant aftertaste that made it undrinkable. Unfortunately, neither dining nor lounge areas offered satisfactory coffee options. - There is an EV charging booth available; however more detailed information would be helpful as parking staff couldn’t provide approximate costs or guidance beyond suggesting downloading an app for usage details—which turned out unnecessary since charges seemed high based on what lounge staff mentioned. - BS channels weren’t accessible during our stay which felt inconvenient since even Business Hotels now offer BS viewing. Lastly speaking with your manager at checkout left us hopeful for improvements moving forward—thank you again!

    Breathtaking View

【Classic Wing】Standard Double (Double) The view from the lobby was stunning, offering a beautiful sight of both the sea and mountains. The complimentary drinks available upon arrival were excellent, with beer and highballs being a delightful touch! However, perhaps because it is in the Classic Wing, the Room was quite small, and despite being labeled as a double bed, it felt very small. The Ryokan seemed to be an old building that had been renovated; doors and toilets appeared outdated, which was quite disappointing. Since no other Rooms were available at the time, we had no choice but to stay here. However, I would recommend opting for the newer building even if it's more expensive. The restaurant had great design and wonderful views; however, we were initially seated at a sofa seat in the back with large dividers on both sides that created an overwhelming sense of confinement. It was so uncomfortable that we couldn't enjoy our meal properly. We requested to change seats but faced delays in communication despite there being other vacant tables available—it’s unclear why this happened. Eventually, they moved us to another table after some time. Perhaps due to lingering COVID-19 measures? Regardless, removing such dividers would create a much better dining experience. While both our seating arrangement and Room left much to be desired overall satisfaction remained high thanks largely due compact yet immersive atmosphere elsewhere!

The photos online may not fully match expectations.

Good Points: - Beautiful ocean view - Room with an open-air bath - Lounge service → The lounge was excellent, and the sunset was beautiful Bad Points (Not as good as expected): - Online photos are slightly exaggerated; the room is small - The open-air bath might be visible from below, with limited countermeasures available - Some parts of the facility are outdated - Dinner was average, neither good nor bad; breakfast was better in comparison - Most staff are foreigners (mainly Southeast Asian); some were skilled, but others were hard to understand

    A spacious and open Room

I am a returning guest and stayed here for the first time in about a year. The room was a Premium Room on the 4th floor of the Prestige Wing. This accommodation is one of my favorites because of its excellent onsen quality, beautiful views from the room, and delicious meals. I stayed in late July during an intense heatwave. Since the room faced west, sunlight directly hit the open-air bath in the room from check-in until sunset, making it unusable during that time. However, I was able to enjoy it after sunset and in the morning of the next day, which was nice. As it was extremely hot outside, I thought lowering the temperature setting of the onsen slightly might have allowed for a more relaxing soak. The weather during my stay was great, and I felt lucky to witness a sunset over Mount Fuji from my room. Although it had been some time since my last visit, both service quality and staff hospitality remained excellent as always, allowing me to have another comfortable stay. What disappointed me were two things: first, that the refrigerator in my room wasn’t cooling properly; second, that as a Diamond Member benefit holder entitled to late check-out privileges, this perk ended up being shortened by 30 minutes unexpectedly. Upon checking settings inside said fridge—it appeared set too low ("weak"), leaving beverages like beer lukewarm rather than refreshingly cold—especially problematic given summer conditions where chilled drinks become essential!

    A bit disappointing....

A bit disappointing. Having stayed at an accommodation in the same area and price range just two weeks ago, the difference was clear when compared. We stayed in a room with an open-air bath. The view was fantastic, but upon entering the room, there was a musty smell that did not go away even after running the air conditioner throughout our stay. Given it was summer, insects were somewhat expected, but their sheer number was overwhelming—including bees—which required constant effort to deal with. Insect prevention measures are essential here. Additionally, there were countless crows on the roof. The distance from the open-air bath to the eaves of the roof was less than one meter, and as they flew toward it while we bathed, they came within about 2 meters of us. This made evening baths terrifying rather than relaxing; enjoying a sunset soak became impossible. As for meals—again comparing—it fell short as well. While there seemed to be enough hall staff present, they weren’t attentive to their surroundings. Breakfast service had its issues: though appetizers like salad arrived quickly after seating, it took too long for the main tray to follow suit—and when freshly baked bread (a highlight) finally arrived—it was so hot that we couldn’t touch or eat it right away! Since this reservation had been made last-minute at a time designated by the hotel itself—waiting only added frustration. While aspects like welcome services were pleasant initially—the disappointment upon entering our room coupled with unmet expectations during meals left us feeling let down overall. It truly felt unfortunate this time around!

    Accompanied by seniors

After making the reservation, I was concerned after reading reviews and watching videos that it might not be suitable for elderly guests. However, the room's toilet had handrails, and although it would have been better if there were no steps to the room's bath, there were also handrails which provided unexpected reassurance. That said, the night view onsen was quite dark and had significant steps in the bathtub, so extra caution is needed to avoid accidents. Some places with a similar atmosphere (especially at night) have a dress code for dining areas, but here you can wear samue attire comfortably. Additionally, having amenities like bath towels available at the observation onsen is one of the reasons I’d like to revisit. We stayed for multiple nights; on our first night we had a room with more of a mountain view. While we initially wished for an ocean-view room instead, thanks to thoughtful staff who noticed availability and offered us a change of rooms, we were able to move and my companion was very pleased. It was enjoyable experiencing two different layouts of rooms during our stay—thank you! The onsen water had a silky texture that made skin feel smooth afterward; however, as it can be slippery due to its viscosity, care must be taken when using it.

    The ocean-view bath is exceptional.

I used the single stay plan. I was looking for a hotel with an ocean view and a private bath in the room, and since I had been interested in this place for some time, I made a reservation. Being in the classic building, the room and facility felt slightly dated, but from arrival, the service was polite and attentive, which made me very satisfied. The meals were delicious, and the view was great; however, what stood out most was the excellent hospitality of all the staff. I would love to visit again if I have another opportunity.

    一休初めてでした。

We hope you enjoy your meals.

The Room was excellent! It was very relaxing, and we enjoyed drinks in the lobby for a leisurely time. About 80% of the staff were from overseas, and they seemed to be working hard, which left a good impression. Although there were some language barriers, they treated us with great care and politeness. However, the food could use some improvement. I liked the breakfast as it had a classic morning meal vibe, but dinner was underwhelming overall. It didn’t feel rustic but rather lacked impact as a whole. Despite being course meals, there was an evident sense of pre-preparation that detracted from the experience. The vegetables and especially the rice felt like they needed more effort; even though served in an earthenware pot, it was clear it had just been transferred into it without much thought—unfortunately, the taste wasn’t satisfying either. Since the cost is bundled with Room charges and not itemized separately for meals, I’m unsure about its specific pricing—but if this is how it is presented now, I’d prefer separate options instead.

It was a relaxing accommodation, but...

The room's private open-air bath was very comfortable with adjustable temperature and levels. However, the large public bath had inconvenient washing areas, and the design, including the reclining bath, felt unsettling, so I only used it once. The view from the lounge and restaurant was pleasant. One concern was that the toilet in the room was near the entrance with a two-step difference from the room floor, which felt unsafe at night. Additionally, it was inconvenient that the shower room and private open-air bath were far apart in the room. The meals were elaborate but served in large portions; it would be appreciated if adjustments could be made in advance.
