    We recommend staying for at least 2 nights.

    This time we stayed for one night, but last month we stayed for two. A two-night stay is recommended. Once again, we simply relaxed and enjoyed golf and the Onsen, then slept soundly—completely stress-free.

    It was wonderful.

    My wife was experiencing morning sickness, so we were a little worried about whether we could truly enjoy our trip, but thanks to the Hotel’s wonderful setting and the thoughtful care of the staff, we had a very comfortable stay. The Hotel had a calm atmosphere throughout, the views were beautiful, and we were able to relax and forget our daily fatigue. My wife also felt at ease and could enjoy herself, making it a precious memory for us as a couple. The staff were warm and attentive, and it was a lovely Hotel where we could feel their attention to every detail. The baths and buffet were excellent as well. When we visit Karuizawa again, we would definitely like to stay here. Thank you very much.

    To celebrate my husband's birthday.

    We stayed here to celebrate my husband’s birthday. From the lunch buffet onward, the staff took great care of us, and they beautifully decorated the dessert plate, making it a truly festive celebration. Thank you very much. Both the Room and the service were excellent—just what you’d expect from Prince Hotel. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

    The bath is excellent. The Room is also lovely.

    From the Room terrace, Mount Asama appears right in front of you—an impressive view. Coffee on the terrace was the best. I regretted not checking in earlier to enjoy such a wonderful Room longer. Mount Asama also looks spectacular from the bath. I want to stay again!

    The hospitality was excellent.

    The staff were courteous and kind in every area, including the lobby, front desk, and restaurant. The food at the restaurant was also delicious.

    Highly satisfying cuisine!

    Above all, the dinner we enjoyed here was so outstanding it left us speechless. Every dish was exquisitely seasoned, a true testament to craftsmanship that lets flavor speak for itself. The view of Mount Asama from the Room was deeply calming, and the lively birdsong drifting through the trees made a particularly memorable harmony.

    A Hotel where you can relax and unwind in nature.

    The birdsong and the view of Mt. Asama were wonderful. The meals, Onsen, and spa treatments were also great. If the Onsen opened a little earlier, I think we could take our time getting to breakfast.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    I was satisfied with both the quality and quantity of the meals, and by using the Premium Member benefit of a 12:00 checkout, I was able to enjoy my stay even without playing golf. The views from the Room, the large public bath, and the dining area were all wonderful—Mount Asama looked beautiful from every angle. The service was also very pleasant (including the trainees). The amenities and hair dryer were slightly disappointing, which I would note as minor negatives. I would like to return in a different season.

    Wonderful Onsen and delicious meals

    This time we stayed for one night, so we couldn’t relax as much as on a Multiple Night Stay, but the Onsen was still amazing. We enjoyed lunch right after arriving, and dinner was delicious with a double main course. We’d love to visit again and take our time next time. We were also happy with the Diamond benefits.     It was excellent!

    I’ve been visiting Karuizawa for quite some time, but this was my first stay at this Hotel. Although the Room was assigned, it had a clear view of Mt. Asama and was a spacious twin Room. The Facility was clean, and even though the Onsen was in a separate building, it was wonderful—nothing to complain about. The in-room coffee, freshly ground from beans, had an amazing aroma. In the morning, we ordered the Western-style set via room service; everything from the omelet to the sides was delicious. It’s also conveniently close to the outlet mall, and I definitely want to come back again. Thank you for taking care of us.

    Fresh greenery, cherry blossoms, and the song of the Japanese bush warbler

    It was a truly wonderful holiday to be able to enjoy spring again at Asama Prince Hotel, long after it had already passed in Tokyo. I thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful fresh greenery of the surrounding trees, the lovely pink double-flowered cherry blossoms, and the clear song of the Japanese bush warbler. And above all, the Onsen. Perhaps because I stayed at the end of Golden Week, it felt almost private—I had the view of Mt. Asama all to myself, and the water was excellent. All of the Hotel staff greeted me with warm smiles and kind words, and I think it is a truly great Hotel. I would love to visit again someday in another season.

    Spectacular Views of Mount Asama and Delicious Cuisine

    I stayed at Karuizawa Asama Prince Hotel during Golden Week. The Facility and Room were very clean and well maintained, and there was a heartwarming message card in the Room. The staff member who assisted me had excellent hospitality, and thanks to the staff’s smiles and friendly greetings, I was able to spend my time comfortably. The location was outstanding—I could enjoy breathtaking views of Mt. Asama and the golf course from the terrace of my Room, savoring an elegant moment with a cup of coffee. For meals, I enjoyed superb cuisine while taking in the spectacular view of Mt. Asama. Thank you very much to all the staff members.

    The Onsen with a view of Mount Asama was wonderful.

    The view of Mt. Asama from the Onsen was wonderful. The Facility also seemed new and spotless. The water was amber-colored and had a pleasant Onsen scent. From beside the Hotel entrance, you can take a mini cable car (?) to the Onsen; you can also go by stairs, but it was nicely heated and warm, so I didn’t get chilled afterward. For breakfast, I was a bit surprised that for coffee options there was only hot coffee available. There wasn’t a machine to make café lattes or cappuccinos yourself either (maybe I should have asked...). It was very helpful that they could store our luggage at Prince Guest Service right next to the Shinkansen station. I took a walk along the Hotel’s walking path, and the forest atmosphere that Karuizawa is known for felt great. In mid-April, we were lucky enough to see the cherry blossoms in full bloom.

    A great Hotel after a long time

    It was a perfect, stress-free Hotel—the first in a long time. Both dinner and breakfast were especially delicious. It would have been even better if the bath temperature had been a little higher.

    The staff are wonderful.

    We have stayed here several times. It is located a little up in the mountains from Karuizawa Station, which makes it quiet and relaxing. Above all, the view from the Room and the view of Mt. Asama from the Onsen are outstanding! The staff are also wonderfully attentive, making this a Hotel we would love to visit again.

    This time, a bit disappointing.

    I visit Karuizawa several times a year, including day trips. This was my third visit here in about 6 or 7 years. The view of Mount Asama from the room, large public bath, and restaurant is truly stunning and very soothing. Since it was an off-season weekday, there were fewer guests, allowing for a quiet and relaxing stay. I also enjoyed taking my time in the onsen. For dinner, I ordered the steak dinner. However, as others mentioned in their reviews, the meat was tough and difficult to cut no matter how I tried. I even worried about scratching the plate badly. Would upgrading to Akagi beef have made a difference? Looking at the menu, it seemed possible to upgrade to Akagi beef for an additional charge or add dishes like today's fish or shrimp dishes. However, the staff didn’t mention this at all... Couldn’t they at least tell us what today’s fish was? I considered ordering but felt unwelcome when it came to items not included in my reservation—it dampened my enthusiasm. Also, when the steak arrived and I thought "Oh?", I realized they hadn’t asked me how I'd like it cooked! It turned out medium-rare so that was fine with me. Breakfast had plenty of options and featured delicious omelets freshly prepared by a chef on-site. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay except for some points regarding dinner which slightly lowered my rating. This remains one of my favorite hotels in Karuizawa—I hope you continue striving for excellence!

    Birthday Accommodation

    Asama Prince Hotel was my first stay, and I was very satisfied with the accommodation as expected. The gondola ride to the onsen was very enjoyable, and the scent of wood invited me to open the door to a calm facility where I could enjoy an open-air bath and be soothed by the quality of the spring water. The omelet at breakfast was excellent. I would love to visit again during the fresh green season.

    Meals

    Breakfast was a buffet with a wide variety of dishes, and I ended up eating too much. Everything was delicious. However, the dining room felt spacious and cold. Since it has floor-to-ceiling glass windows offering a view of Mount Asama, it might be due to insufficient heating.

    Multiple Night Stay in late October

    Stayed for 2 nights from 10/29. The weather was great, and the view of Mount Asama from the room and large public bath was stunning. Above all, the Onsen was amazing. The smooth texture of the Onsen water was exceptional. The staff provided courteous service, making our stay very comfortable. Additionally, the autumn leaves were at their peak, and both around the Hotel and near Karuizawa Station were beautifully vibrant.

    Satisfied with the location and the bath.

    Stayed in a suite room for one night with my elderly aunt and her husband, making a group of four. The location and the separate onsen were delightful. However, perhaps due to the aging building, some in-room facilities were unusable, which was inconvenient. It seems this hotel is tailored mainly for golf enthusiasts and vacation club members. It was disappointing that most services, with limited options available, were exclusively for club members. I hope they consider adding options accessible with additional fees. Looking forward to improvements in hospitality.

    It's a shame that Mount Asama is hidden by clouds.

    I am an Onsen enthusiast. The service was excellent. The room and amenities were quite standard. Dinner was highly satisfying, but the breakfast buffet was a bit underwhelming. The sauna was properly heated, which I appreciated. Overall, it’s worth considering a repeat stay.

    A Hotel with Both Pros and Cons Equally Balanced

    Here is my honest review. I usually stay at luxury hotels or onsen accommodations. I have stayed at various hotels both domestically and internationally. My first impression of this hotel was, "Is this really a Prince Hotel?" The entrance, front desk, and room felt much older and more reminiscent of the Showa era than what I had seen on the reservation site. The onsen and meals (scenery, ambiance, dinner, and breakfast) were absolutely excellent with no complaints!! The staff's service was a mix—some provided service that felt like a business hotel, while others were highly professional. Would I stay here again? It would be solely for the onsen and the restaurant's view. It felt like a missed opportunity for a Prince Hotel. The foreign cleaning staff were working hard and greeted guests earnestly.

    View of Mount Asama from the Restaurant

    The restaurant with a view of Mount Asama was spacious and lovely. However, the dinner at the restaurant (steak) was surprisingly disappointing... The Onsen, which required taking a monorail to reach, was inconvenient but unique and interesting. From the room, we could also enjoy a view of Mount Asama and relax on the balcony with beer or coffee. When heading from the parking lot to the hotel upon arrival, there was another group ahead of us. The young staff attended to them without even greeting us, treating us as if we were invisible—it was beyond disappointing and quite shocking. The staff at the check-in counter had a severe cough, which was concerning.

    Smooth and silky skin

    The water is silky smooth, leaving your skin feeling soft and smooth. Taking a short ride on the monorail to get there adds to the fun of this Onsen. I wanted to try the sauna, but I was concerned when an individual sat on the outdoor cushion chair without placing a bath towel and stayed there for a long time. It would be nice if shared spaces were used considerately. The accommodation itself is lovely and charming.

    The Hotel is located...

    The Hotel is located next to a golf course, so I initially thought it was designed mainly for golfers, but it pleasantly exceeded my expectations. Even without playing golf, I was able to relax in nature, enjoy the Onsen, and savor delicious meals. It was truly wonderful. I would love to stay here again!

    Thank you for accommodating our requests regarding the Room and meals. The Room had a spacious balcony with an amazing view, which was very relaxing. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. The large public bath was clean, offered great views, and was very soothing. The staff greeted us warmly, making our stay very pleasant.     I had a relaxing time.

    I chose this accommodation for its panoramic windows. I dined at the restaurant around sunset, and the spacious seating arrangement made it feel very open and lovely. Since I wasn't too hungry, I opted for a meat-only course, which was just right. The chilled corn soup was absolutely delicious! Breakfast was lively with an impressive variety of ingredients to choose from, all of which were tasty. The freshly baked stone oven pizza was delightful! The smoothies were excellent too! The room had coffee beans available for grinding and brewing yourself, making for a fresh and flavorful experience. To reach the large public bath, you take a monorail that fits about four people—it felt like an attraction and was quite fun (though slightly inconvenient as you have to step outside briefly in winter). The onsen had a pleasantly smooth texture that felt great on the skin. However, the transparent panel in front of the open-air bath was fogged up, which was a bit disappointing. There wasn’t a cold water bath in the sauna area for women either. That said, towels were readily available along with amenities and drinking water, making it very comfortable to use overall. The entire space felt relaxed and spacious; I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. After much deliberation over accommodations in Karuizawa, I'm glad I chose this Prince Hotel!
