I was able to create wonderful summer vacation memories with my grandchild. We were very satisfied with both the pool and the meals.
We would have liked to enjoy our meal at a more relaxed pace, but it couldn’t be helped. Next time, we’d like to stay on a quiet weekday and take our time. The staff were kind, and we were satisfied.

A very large and won...
A very large and wonderful Hotel. All the staff were kind and pleasant! The Onsen had a wide variety, and we really enjoyed it. The water felt light, yet it left my skin smooth. The changing area was also very clean, and it was great to be able to use a fresh bath towel each time. The footbath was also lovely—listening to the sound of the water while watching koi swim created a great atmosphere! For dinner, the line at the live kitchen kept getting longer and moved slowly, so we had to wait in line for quite a while. The steak station was the most crowded, but the taste was average. On the other hand, the tempura shrimp were large and plump, and I was happy to be able to enjoy tuna sushi ranging from lean cuts to medium fatty and extra fatty tuna—it was delicious. The local cuisine corner was also great, with lots of different flavors to try. As soon as staff noticed empty plates, they cleared them right away, which made dining very comfortable. Breakfast was fairly standard but more than sufficient. The grilled mehikari (greeneye fish) was delicious! Before 8:00 a.m., it was already full, with many people waiting for seats to open up. The Room smelled of cigarettes, but it was spacious and clean. The tap water in the Room is drinkable as well—there really wasn’t any odor or unpleasant taste; it tasted good! There is also a small outdoor pool and events for elementary school children, so I think this Accommodation is an excellent choice for families traveling with kids. If I have another chance to visit nearby, I would definitely stay again.

A bit disappointing.
The Hotel staff, the bath, and the Room were all excellent, and I was very satisfied. However, there were a few disappointing points. Although fresh flowers were arranged, many of them looked wilted. For the welcome service, there were only snack foods. Even though dinner started at 5:00 p.m., the tama-konnyaku was still being warmed up and was not available when I passed by 10 minutes before. There was a shampoo bar at the open-air bath, but several bottles were empty and had not been refilled even by the next morning. Also, since it is located in the changing area, it is hard to know when to return items; I also saw some left out. I think it should be placed inside the bathing area instead. Since it was during the Obon holiday period, there were many guests with children, and I thought it was great that there were various events for them to enjoy.

Thank you for an unforgettable trip.
We stayed as a family to celebrate my husband’s birthday and our wedding anniversary. From the moment we checked in, we were amazed by the spacious, wonderful Room you prepared for us. When we checked out, we learned that it had been upgraded free of charge, which truly moved us even more. At dinner, you even prepared a fruit platter to celebrate my husband’s birthday and our anniversary—thank you so much. Our whole family was touched by your warm thoughtfulness. The Onsen also offered a great variety, and we enjoyed bathing many times. Most memorable of all was the dinner buffet. Not only was every dish delicious, but each time limited-quantity items were announced one after another, we found ourselves excitedly wondering what would come next as we enjoyed our meal. Thanks to the Room, the Onsen, the meals, and above all the warm hospitality of your staff, this trip became an unforgettable memory for our entire family. After returning home, my husband and children told me, “Thanks to you, Mom, it was such a wonderful trip. Let’s do it again.” That made this trip especially joyful for me as well. I sincerely appreciate all of your kindness and consideration. We look forward to visiting again as a family someday. Thank you very much.

The pool was available for use until 12:00 PM.
There was one amenity towel per guest in the Room, but since it gets wet after using the Onsen, it would have been nice to have an additional towel for the in-room bathroom and sink as well. Also, according to the information on IKYU, “Guests can use the pool free of charge from check-in until check-out (10:00).” Assuming it would be difficult to use the pool within that time frame, I even wrote in the Hotel questionnaire suggesting they reconsider the hours. However, at check-out at 10:00, we were informed that—unlike what was stated on IKYU—guests can actually use the pool until 12:00 (please return the locker key by 12:00). Thanks to this, we were able to enjoy the pool after check-out under perfect sunshine, and our elementary-school-aged daughter was thrilled. I would appreciate it if IKYU could provide accurate information as well. We were very satisfied with everything about this Accommodation—the meals, feeding the carp, the footbath, the puzzle-solving activity, the futon bedding in our Room, and of course the Onsen. We had been torn between other Accommodations along our route near Joban Expressway (ocean side) and toward Koriyama on Tohoku Expressway, but happened to choose Hana no Yu this time. Next time, we’d like to make this Accommodation our destination.

Perfect for an anniversary trip.
We stayed in Room 330. At check-in, we were shown to the lounge and waited with tea and sweets, and we were soon escorted to our Room. Later, we tried the premium lounge. There were soft drinks, coffee, shochu, and snacks, all of which were delicious. We weren’t sure where to return the dishes. We used both the in-room open-air bath and the large public bath; in terms of temperature and amenities, we preferred the in-room bath. The public bath was quite hot. Breakfast was served as a three-tier bento box with a generous portion. We were also happy to receive a fruit plate as a gift. It was a wonderful anniversary trip.

A wide variety of baths are available.
I stayed solo using the “Fukushima Prefecture Come Again” discount campaign. This was a Plan with breakfast included and no dinner. There is a wide variety of baths, which was enjoyable. Since I had been to the milky-white waters of Dake Onsen the day before, I liked how the nearly clear water here felt soft and pleasant. I had planned to have dinner and drinks nearby, but it seemed there were only a few options around the station and not much close to the Hotel. The Room Wi-Fi was stable. This is a Hotel I would like to stay at again.

This is a very clean...
This is a very clean Hotel. However, I think the seasoning of the meals needs some improvement. In particular, I couldn’t eat the vinegared dishes. I wonder if the chef tastes the food personally. The spiny lobster that came with the Room with an open-air bath was unseasoned and tough, making it difficult to eat.

We had a very relaxing stay.
We had a relaxing two-night stay. It was my first time staying in a Room with an open-air bath, and it was wonderful. My elderly mother could also bathe with peace of mind. The open-air bath early in the morning and late at night felt amazing. The fresh green leaves on the mountain right in front of us were beautiful, and we ended up soaking for a long time. The meals were delicious and very satisfying. However, since neither my mother nor I drink alcohol, the intervals between dishes felt a bit long, and we ended up waiting and getting sleepy... (second night dinner). Breakfast was served in a lovely stacked box style, with piping-hot miso soup and amazake—everything was delicious and enjoyable. Thank you for the wonderful meal. We would definitely like to return again. Everyone’s hospitality felt warm and welcoming.

The only disappointing thing is that
Unfortunately, the night I stayed coincided with very strong winds. Perhaps because it was a corner Room, the sliding door between the windows rattled loudly all night, and I couldn’t sleep well. The food, the Onsen, the Room, and the staff’s service were all excellent and very satisfying, so that was my only disappointment. Still, it’s a Hotel I’d like to visit again.

Annex “Tsuranari” (Multiple Night Stay: 2 nights)
We splurged to stay for two nights for my wife’s birthday. The Room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. In-room dining was also well arranged with separate areas within the same Room, so we could relax right away after the meal. The food quality was excellent; we were satisfied with both the quantity and quality of the dinner course and the boxed breakfast. The fish in particular (grilled and simmered) was outstanding. In the morning, a boxed breakfast is delivered to your Room, so you can eat without leaving or seeing anyone, which I think is great for women. Above all, the Onsen in the private open-air bath in our guest room was wonderful; it felt slightly different from the large public bath in terms of water quality, and since we came mainly for the Onsen, we were extremely satisfied. One small disappointment: on the second day of our Multiple Night Stay, the flowers in our Room had wilted but were left as they were. Overall, we were very satisfied. It’s a Ryokan we would like to visit again.

The garden bath is better than the scenic-view bath!
The large public bath was huge. It was an impressive Onsen Accommodation. The Room was clean, spacious, and very satisfying. For meals, the dinner buffet selection was a bit limited. The sushi was delicious, but there were no sashimi or similar items, so it felt slightly lacking in variety. Breakfast was also a buffet, and I wished there had been a grill or stove to cook dried fish or other fish. Overall, it was a large Onsen Ryokan with well-equipped Facilities.

Royal Suite Room
We stayed in the Royal Suite (with an indoor bath and an open-air bath) to celebrate a family member’s birthday. The room was very clean and we were satisfied. The kaiseki dinner was served slowly, one dish at a time, so for us as non-drinkers it felt like we were kept waiting, though that may be the usual style. The portions were quite large for our elderly family members, so after dinner on the first night we asked if they could reduce the number of dishes on the second night, and they kindly accommodated our request. Perhaps because of the smaller portion size on the second night, we felt that higher-quality ingredients were served. We really appreciated their thoughtful consideration.

Perfect for a cozy stay-in getaway.
With influenza and other illnesses going around, I was looking for a place that offers in-Room dining, and I made a Reservation because the Room also had an open-air bath. I didn’t have high expectations for service at a large Ryokan, but the young female staff member who prepared our dinner had the most wonderful smile. I have some foods I can’t eat, so it must have been extra work, but everything was delicious and I was very satisfied! It was great that they provide samue loungewear, and they had a full range of sizes—no stress about fit. The Room was clean, the amenities were excellent, and even the disposable slippers were so fluffy that I was impressed. I’m sure there were many guests staying there, but it never felt crowded, which made for a very pleasant stay. I’d love to visit again and try a different Room at Shorin-tei.

This was my first time using this Hotel. I chose it because the Reviews were quite positive, so I was looking forward to it. However, when I actually stayed: Even though I was pushing a cart loaded with several suitcases, the staff didn’t say a word to assist me. It felt like we had to push it all the way to our Room by ourselves. The building is divided into two sections, but there was no explanation about this at reception. Even at the buffet, there were no labels or descriptions of the dishes, so we couldn’t tell what we were eating. For this price, I believe there are many better Hotels available elsewhere.

An accommodation for locals to enjoy nostalgia.
I visited from outside the prefecture and noticed that most of the guests seemed to be locals, judging by the license plates in the parking lot. It reminded me of a similar accommodation in my hometown, which brought back nostalgic feelings. Although there were posters inside promoting "Joban-mono" (local specialties), the only local touches I noticed at breakfast were yogurt and soy sauce. This makes sense if it's primarily catering to locals—after all, people don't usually want to eat something they can easily have at home while staying overnight elsewhere. (That said, it was puzzling to be made to wait at the entrance despite empty seats being available, and it was inconvenient that no one explained this waiting system until I asked.) The bath area had an impressive number of tubs without much explanation about their concepts or benefits—it felt like a throwback to bubble-era Japan, which was quite nostalgic for me. (For example, what purpose does a standing bath serve?) However, I felt sad when a cleaning staff member scolded me for leaving two minutes late after bathing. While I understand it was my fault for not adhering strictly to time limits, being reprimanded while completely undressed left me with mixed emotions that are hard to describe. I also noticed that none of the staff greeted guests when passing them in hallways; some even casually walked right across in front of customers without hesitation. Including these aspects—and even considering how cold the hallways were—it might be an enjoyable "homey" experience for those who appreciate such an atmosphere. Lastly, there was an unsettling moment when a group of male guests who appeared intoxicated loudly shared inappropriate jokes in the lobby before attempting to board the same elevator as me. Since staff members' voices could be heard nearby during this incident, perhaps they could have kindly advised them against such behavior? It would not only protect other guests but also help maintain their reputation as a local business—especially since their company name is well-known locally!

Used for a year-end party. The Room was spacious and clean. It was nice to have two trash bins in the Room and one in the washroom. Had a very enjoyable time. Bought freshly picked vegetables in the morning. Thank you!

The lounge at the back of the first floor was cold. The welcome green tea was lukewarm, and the accompanying snacks were not tasty. The male staff member who guided us did not seem welcoming. It felt disappointing considering the high price. However, the steak at the dinner buffet was delicious, and the staff were excellent.

The meals and baths are excellent.
- The meals, featuring an abundance of seasonal ingredients from Fukushima, were truly delicious and enjoyable. Every dish, whether warm or cold, with perfect seasoning and sweetness, was satisfying. A round of applause to the head chef for their effort and excellence. - Since the room was on the third floor, I could relax in the open-air bath without worrying about bears or insects. The Onsen water quality information was clearly displayed in an easy-to-understand manner, and it was satisfactory. The temperature was just right—not too hot or too cold. Areas for improvement: - There seemed to be a lack of coordination and communication among staff members: the mid-level male staff who greeted us at arrival and helped with luggage; the experienced male receptionist; the young male staff who guided us to our room; and the young female staff serving meals. Perhaps my expectations were too high, but I felt quite disappointed by this aspect. - Room management needs more attention to detail from whoever is responsible (final checker?). For example: a crooked frame of a flower painting on display in the alcove; fresh flowers that had wilted and emitted an unpleasant odor; unflushed waste left in the toilet bowl—these are not acceptable conditions for welcoming guests into a room. When I mentioned these issues to one of the young male staff members, his response lacked professionalism: "The frame? Is it crooked? The toilet wasn’t flushed? It’s probably not waste—it must have been forgotten after cleaning." The young female staff member also tried to be kind but her efforts felt misplaced and unhelpful at times, leaving me confused. Guests staying in such rooms are likely accustomed to high-quality service standards. I hope they can improve their hospitality skills—such as communication techniques—and learn how to interact more effectively with executive-level guests for smarter service delivery moving forward.

Would love to stay again!
Stayed for two nights in summer. This Hotel left a strong impression with its incredibly kind staff. When my child was unsure how to use the shaved ice machine at the dinner buffet and said, "How do I do this...," a passing staff member, despite carrying a tray full of items, stopped and kindly explained with a smile. Not only in the restaurant but also at the front desk, the shop, and even the staff cleaning the Room, everyone left a warm impression. On the day we left, we took a bus to Bandai-Atami Station, and the staff waved goodbye with a banner, making us think, "We definitely want to stay here again!" When I asked my child what was the most fun during summer vacation, they immediately answered, "Hana no Yu!" The pool with a slide, feeding koi fish for 100 yen, the spacious baths with many tubs, and the delicious buffets for both breakfast and dinner made the Hotel stay incredibly enjoyable. Not only the children but also we, as parents, had a very relaxing time. The meals featured many freshly prepared dishes from the open kitchen, seasonal fruits from Fukushima, and overall, it was a highly satisfying Hotel experience.

Showa-era Hotel as it is
Some areas have been renovated, but the overall atmosphere, service, and facilities feel like a Showa-era Onsen Ryokan. Even though we arrived at the scheduled time by car, no one came out to greet us at the entrance for a while. We had to unload our luggage ourselves before someone finally appeared. We chose the buffet because we had our grandchild with us, but some dishes ran out early and were not replenished, which felt too soon. Since we stayed on the premium floor, we could use the exclusive lounge until 11 PM. While there were delicious snacks available, they were not restocked either; by around 9 PM most of them were gone—lacking an executive feel. The room was newly renovated with comfortable beds that allowed for a relaxing stay. There were various services provided that made it satisfying overall. The private open-air bath in the room was fed by free-flowing hot spring water; however, the water flow was too strong and required running cold water constantly to make it bearable due to its high temperature—such a waste despite its excellent quality. It seems like this place mainly caters to overseas group tours?

The buffet is delicious.
The Hotel buffet stood out with its carefully prepared dishes, offering freshly cooked and fried options. Even the vegetables were incredibly fresh, and I was amazed at how delicious raw eggplant could be. The bath area was spacious with a variety of options, and the young guests around seemed to be enjoying themselves as well. I would love to stay here again.

Over 10 stays
I usually don't write reviews, but I decided to share my experience due to an unpleasant incident at the breakfast venue. The room I was interested in was unavailable when I made a reservation two days prior, so upon arrival, I booked a private bath. Both the large public bath and private bath had some concerning aspects. I used the shuttle service from the station. At check-in, there were only two staff members at the front desk, and we had to wait in line. During our turn while receiving explanations, they prioritized assisting pool users without even saying "please wait." There was hair on top of the refrigerator in our room. At dinner buffet, we were seated by a staff member. When I left my seat briefly, another staff member called out to me but disappeared without explaining why. It was confusing. During dinner, a staff member approached us saying it was last call for all-you-can-drink service. When we clarified that we hadn’t ordered it, they asked for our name for confirmation—it felt slightly rude as if implying it was our mistake. Breakfast buffet required about 15 minutes of waiting time. At one cooking station near the entrance where food is prepared on-site (details omitted), the cook's unfriendly attitude and remarks ruined my mood and appetite; we left early feeling upset. Even after returning home, this experience left us disheartened. The comments made by this individual were inappropriate for customers and clapping hands demonstratively in front of guests is unacceptable behavior. Feel free to contact me directly via phone regarding these details. Additionally during breakfast when returning back towards table mid-meal found everything cleared away except oddly leaving behind someone else's milk glass instead replacing ours properly—no apology offered whatsoever! Upon checkout noticed mistakenly charged two beers never ordered; apparently mixed up with another guest’s bill instead rectified later yet overall dissatisfaction persisted throughout entire stay making childhood family trips nostalgic memories tarnished alongside post-marriage visits too disappointing now unlikely future returns ever again!

Satisfaction
The room was assigned by the hotel, but it was a spacious two-room suite where we could relax comfortably. There were welcome drinks and snacks, which made the children happy. However, it was disappointing that the popcorn was a bit stale. The meals did not have a wide variety, but everything served was of high quality and very delicious. Including sashimi might enhance satisfaction even more. The Onsen water was excellent and left our skin feeling smooth. Overall, it was a highly satisfying hotel experience.

Excessive energy saving
The facility was hot, including the Room. There was no place to cool down after taking a bath. Stayed for two days; it was hot on the first day, but on the second day, there seemed to be an event at the Hotel, and it felt cooler than the first day. It felt like they adjusted based on guests, which was unpleasant.

It was great.
Since it was a last-minute reservation during the Obon season, I didn’t have high expectations. However, the room felt newer than expected and was spacious enough for four people without feeling cramped. Being a large Ryokan and considering it was the Obon season, I was worried about crowds, but I could enjoy a relaxing bath and had a leisurely meal with the semi-private yakiniku course. While the overall number of dishes seemed slightly fewer, the meat was delicious and more than satisfying.

Only the food was very disappointing.
The Onsen and the room were very comfortable, allowing for a relaxing stay. However, shortly after eating the "imogara" in the miso soup served at dinner, I felt a sharp pain from my mouth to the back of my throat as if something was piercing it. When I asked the staff about it, they mentioned that imogara can cause discomfort. Upon researching online, I found that insufficient preparation can leave calcium oxalate crystals, which may cause such sensations. Previously, when I purchased imogara at a roadside station and prepared it properly at home by removing its bitterness thoroughly, it was delicious. Unfortunately, this time was disappointing. Even though the steak served afterward should have been enjoyable under normal circumstances, I couldn't savor it due to throat pain. I am left wondering whether the head chef personally tastes each dish before serving them.
