    The bath is amazing!

The building exterior looks a bit old, but the Room was spacious and beautifully renovated, making for a very comfortable stay. I booked this Accommodation because I wanted to try the Momoyama-style bath, and it was excellent.

Feel like you’ve traveled back in time.

The old-fashioned Momoyama-style bath was truly impressive. From the changing room, the detailed ceiling and flooring created a wonderful sense of character, and when I opened the door to the indoor bath, I couldn’t help but sigh at the atmosphere of a bygone era. The open-air bath also had an excellent ambiance. I rated service 4 because I would have appreciated clearer maps and signage inside the property.

    Stay at a long-established Ryokan

I’ve been wanting to stay here at least once. I imagine running a long-established Accommodation comes with many challenges, but please keep up the great work.

    Completely satisfied with everything.

The service and meals were wonderful, but above all, the “Momoyama Bath” was exceptional. When I visited the “Momoyama Bath” late at night, I had it all to myself, making it a truly blissful time.

The exterior, interior, and Facilities felt outdated, and I did not sense cleanliness or good taste. In particular, the dining room for dinner and breakfast had an unpleasant odor upon entering. I would like you to thoroughly improve air conditioning/ventilation and deodorization. Average for the price. Recommended for those who like an old Ryokan with an atmosphere that may have once been upscale.

    Retro Onsen Town Tour

This was my first visit to Yudanaka Onsen, and I was impressed by the beautiful Momoyama-style architecture of the Momoyama Bath. The meals were also excellent, using a variety of local ingredients, and it was especially nice that the staff carefully explained the ingredients and cooking methods. Despite being an older Accommodation, I appreciated having the option of a Japanese-Western style room (as I get older, sleeping on futons is difficult for me). I also visited Yudanaka Station and noticed there is an Onsen next to the station, but unfortunately I didn’t have time to go. It would have been helpful to have a map highlighting points of interest and shops in the Onsen town. In addition to the Momoyama Bath guide, it might be nice to offer guided explanations for the entire Onsen town as well (even for an additional fee).

Cheer on our fresh new faces (newbie mark).

This was my third stay, the first in a year. Is it the season for new staff to debut? I noticed a discreet “beginner” badge on their name tags. They appeared one after another to guide me to my Room and serve meals, and every one of them was doing their very best. Some clearly had prior experience elsewhere; they answered my questions about ingredients accurately, and our conversation became so lively that a supervisor even came to call them back. I’m sorry for holding them up during such a busy time. As a guest, it made the meal even more enjoyable and helped me appreciate even more what this Accommodation takes pride in with its cuisine. I worry they may have been scolded because of it. On my first visit, I stayed in a private dining room and had such a great conversation with the staff member in charge that I left feeling truly glad I chose this Accommodation—and became a repeat guest. An Accommodation where you can feel close to the staff and experience warm hospitality is something special. I sincerely support all of the new team members.

    Did you forget something?

Although the Diamond member benefit included a complimentary bottle of wine, it was not provided at checkout. I only confirmed this after leaving, so I did not call to follow up. The bath was wonderful and lived up to what I had seen on TV. However, I wish the meals had been more carefully prepared. I ordered the premium beef, but it was tough and sinewy, so I left most of it. Overall, the flavors were average. The next day I stayed at another Ryokan in Shibu Onsen and was served premium beef there as well—it was very delicious.

    An Artistic Accommodation

We visited to celebrate our 36th wedding anniversary. We had long admired Yorozuya, and from the moment we stepped into the entrance, we were amazed by the magnificent coffered ceiling. The lion folding screen and furnishings were also wonderful—like being in a museum. While listening to jazz, we were served matcha tea, and it was truly a blissful time. Our Room was spacious as well. We then went to our main destination: the Momoyama Bath, a designated cultural property. All we could say was “Wow”—it was an incredible bath. The steam bath and outdoor bath far exceeded our imagination and felt like works of art. The Shinonome Bath was also very nice. And then dinner: the proprietress’s handwritten menu had so much character and was beautiful—she is also a talented artist. The food was delicious, and my husband and I were deeply moved by the congratulatory message written with chocolate on the dessert plate. Thank you so much for the warm hospitality from all of the staff. The next day, we were able to tour the Momoyama Bath again, take photos, and listen to an explanation—it was truly wonderful. The shared bath outside was also great. It became an unforgettable trip, and we would love to visit again. We’re experiencing serious “Yorozuya loss” now...

    Mother-and-daughter trip

I stayed here with my college-aged daughter on a two-person trip. Since we usually stay at large Ryokan, the calm, unhurried atmosphere felt refreshingly new. Because of its long history, there were certainly some areas where the Facilities felt dated, but it was also clear that everything has been carefully maintained. The meals featured local ingredients and were delicious. These days, many Ryokan serve an overwhelming feast—tasty, but sometimes you end up thinking “I can’t eat another bite.” Here, the portions were just right: “That was delicious and satisfying.” It was so good that some guests might be happy if seconds of soba were available. This is an Accommodation we’d love to visit again next time as a family trip with my husband as well.

    I had a pleasant stay.

We stayed for two nights and three days. The next day, my sister’s family, who were staying for one night and two days, joined us on the floors above and below. You also arranged for both families to dine together. Sorry for the inconvenience. While the Accommodation does have a sense of age, the staff’s hospitality and thoughtful attention were truly wonderful. The meal portions were just right, with light yet refined flavors, so even when we were full we didn’t feel any heaviness or discomfort. I was especially happy to see my mother, who usually eats little, enjoying so much—everything was delicious. We visited the famous Onsen at night and used the open-air bath at Momoyama Bath; the atmosphere and temperature were perfect, and my skin felt wonderfully smooth. The next morning we took our time in Shinonome Bath as well—it was very relaxing. Even after checkout, you kindly saw us off so carefully that it was hard to leave. This has become an Accommodation we would love to stay at again. We didn’t get a chance to join the matcha tea time during our stay, so we’ll look forward to it next time.

I learned about Yorozuya from a TV program. The Onsen I had been looking forward to was truly wonderful. They also offered services such as a welcome drink of matcha and complimentary drinks, which allowed me to relax at ease. The meals were also very delicious. Thank you very much.

The Momoyama-style bath is well worth seeing.

I checked in a little early, and thanks to your flexibility I was happy to have some time to enjoy the Momoyama bath all to myself. Personally, I loved the Shinonome bath—the steam created a dreamy atmosphere, and the water was pleasantly hot—but having dedicated photo time in the Momoyama bath was a memorable and much-appreciated service. Although the building is old, it was kept very clean, so I felt no discomfort at all. Even during the holiday period, the Accommodation Fee was reasonable, and I think guests can have a comfortable stay as long as they come with realistic expectations. Thank you very much for everything.

    All set.

The service was just right for me—not over the top, not overly elaborate, and not trying too hard to be different. I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay, and I was pleasantly surprised that the meals on the second day were even better. Rather than simply being “upgraded,” they really showcased the careful, delicate qualities of kaiseki cuisine. The Momoyama bath is truly impressive. You can take photos during a short time in the morning, and there’s also an explanatory tour by the staff, which I enjoyed. Soaking slowly in the clear Onsen with its high alkalinity helped me relax deeply, and I felt refreshed both physically and mentally.

    Momoyama-Style Bath and Bath Towels

Above all, the highlight is the Momoyama-style bath. Another great feature is that bath towels are always available in the large public bath. Even if you stay to enjoy the Onsen, being forced to reuse a wet towel can be disappointing, so this Accommodation is truly excellent.

Thank you for taking care of us the other day. The historic building is breathtaking the moment you step inside. The staff’s friendly greetings felt natural, and we truly sensed heartfelt hospitality. We had a very comfortable stay throughout. One small disappointment was that the outdoor bath was lukewarm, so we couldn’t warm up properly. On the other hand, the indoor bath was at a great temperature—it was an Onsen that made us want to stay in forever. Also, the TV in our Room used an external tuner. There was no explanation during check-in, so it took a bit of time to figure out how to watch TV. We would have appreciated a brief note from the staff member in charge.

    Historic Accommodation

A traditional accommodation where you can soak in the historic hot springs and enjoy the charm of a bygone era. The lounge and rooms provided an extremely comfortable space, allowing for a restful sleep on futons laid out on tatami mats. The flavorful dishes made with local ingredients were highly satisfying. Additionally, the kind and attentive service from all the staff was truly heartwarming. Lastly, the cost performance was excellent! I would love to visit again if given another opportunity. Thank you very much!

A Ryokan located about a 10-minute walk from the station. While Shuttle Service is available, the distance is close enough that I didn’t use it. The staff were very kind and helpful. This Ryokan is designated as an Important Cultural Property, offering a historical atmosphere inside. However, the interior is well-maintained and provides a comfortable stay. The food was delicious, but what impressed me most was the Onsen. The Momoyama Bath exceeded my expectations in size, especially the spaciousness of the open-air bath—it was truly astonishing. I’ve never seen such a large Onsen before. Although it’s slightly more expensive than other nearby Ryokans, it’s absolutely worth staying here. At least one night is highly recommended to experience this incredible Onsen.

A Ryokan with a traditional Onsen atmosphere

It was a Ryokan that truly felt like an authentic Onsen experience. The staff provided warm and pleasant hospitality. The meals were exceptionally delicious. I also appreciated the detox water and matcha tea service. It was a bit disappointing that I couldn't take photos of the Momoyama Bath due to timing, but having a single-sheet brochure would be nice (as Ryokan brochures often have creases in the middle). If you're visiting Yudanaka Onsen, this is a highly recommended Ryokan!

    Shinshu Travel

I traveled from Nagano to Yudanaka on a sightseeing train through the wine valley. Although I hadn't specifically requested a pick-up, I was kindly greeted by a bus upon arrival. The Ryokan had an elegant lobby featuring a large folding screen with Karajishi designs and a beautiful grand music box. The Room was spacious, and the service was impeccable. I would love to stay here again when visiting Shinshu next time.

    The bath was excellent.

The Momoyama-style bath, a registered tangible cultural property, and the garden open-air bath were charming and exceptional. Overall, the hospitality of the young staff was excellent. However, I was surprised and disappointed when a senior female staff member spoke to me in a casual tone during my meal, possibly because I appeared younger.

It was great. Especially the Momoyama-style bath is a must-try experience. The staff were attentive yet efficient in their service. The meals used local ingredients, and the portions were generous, leaving us very satisfied. One concern was the smell in the salon... While guest rooms were fine, perhaps using incense could help improve it. It would be nice to have massage chairs like those found in other Ryokans. There were baskets provided, but having pockets on the haori would be convenient. The souvenir shop was nice, but a more modern layout might make it feel more enjoyable. Coexisting with cultural heritage must be challenging, but this is truly an excellent Ryokan!

    Accommodation to Experience History

The Momoyama-style bath is stunning! The bath was well-maintained and clean. The meals were thoughtfully prepared, offering more than just simple tempura or simmered dishes, which was delightful. The service provided by the gentleman in charge of dinner was excellent. It became a memorable experience for our family.

    First used in July 2027.

Upon entering the entrance, you will be impressed by the high-ceilinged lobby. After completing check-in, head to the lounge on the second floor where you’ll notice a folding screen with a Karajishi (lion) design and a large drum. The serene music filling this spacious area comes from a disc music box with its gentle tones. In the lounge, you can also enjoy cold matcha and traditional Japanese sweets. Free drinks from a coffee machine are available as well. - Onsen Bath The reason I chose this accommodation was to see the registered tangible cultural property "Momoyama Bath." The bath features ceilings reminiscent of shrine architecture and a large round onsen tub that offers an extraordinary experience—it was truly remarkable. Guests can take photos of this bath between 9:45 AM and 10:00 AM in the morning, which I think is an excellent service. - Room The room we stayed in was a Japanese-style room with 10 tatami mats + 4 tatami mats space. While it felt somewhat old, it was clean and well-maintained. From the window, we could see beautiful green mountains in the distance on our right-hand side. The toilet was slightly compact, featuring an old-fashioned ceramic handwashing basin that evoked nostalgia. As for improvements, I would suggest switching the positions of the hand towel and toilet paper holder for better convenience since reaching behind to dry hands after washing felt inconvenient. - Meals Every dish served during our stay was delicious! A notable feature is that both dinner and breakfast menus were illustrated by hand-drawn pictures—especially breakfast menus had adorable illustrations accompanied by detailed explanations about each dish. Having stayed at many accommodations before, such unique menu presentations are rare to find. Our family collects menus as travel mementos from every accommodation we visit; therefore, Yoruya’s menu left us with lasting impressions. - Parking Information For this trip, we traveled by private car; since our vehicle is relatively large-sized, parking arrangements always require extra attention—particularly at travel destinations where rental cars may pose risks like door dings ("door punches"). We usually research parking spaces beforehand whenever possible. Thanks to early check-in availability during this trip's arrival time frame—we secured ample corner space within their lot comfortably ahead-of-time arrivals later parked larger rental vehicles closer upfront areas near accommodations themselves ideally accommodating size considerations proactively ensuring stress-free experiences overall!

    The Momoyama-style bath was excellent.

I had a very pleasant stay. It was an accommodation that made me want to visit again. I reserved the standard meal plan, thinking I could add more if it wasn't enough, but both the quantity and quality were perfect—it was almost too much by the end of the meal. This time, it was a trip with two women, but since it was so wonderful, I would like to visit next time with my family. Thank you for your excellent hospitality.

    First Visit

We visited as a group of three women who love Onsen. First, we were amazed by the Momoyama Bath. It was an extraordinary bath unlike anything we had ever seen before. The experience was so moving that we felt like staying in it forever while gazing at the ceiling. The meals were also thoughtfully prepared, with tender and delicious meat. Next time, we would definitely love to enjoy a snow-viewing bath!

Fully satisfied with the bath and SPA.

The Momoyama Bath and the garden open-air bath were excellent. I also enjoyed the steam bath inside the Momoyama Bath. The highlight was the private SPA "Bon," where I had an amazing time enjoying a sauna, mist sauna, cold bath, outdoor relaxation, and Onsen all to myself for two hours. The Room and meals felt appropriate for the price. However, the meals, both breakfast and dinner, were slightly underwhelming; it would be nice to have a standout dish. If you're looking for better meals and Rooms while still enjoying the Momoyama Bath and SPA, staying at Shoraiso might be a good option.
