    The bath is amazing!

The Facility has been nicely renovated, but the service is terrible! I stayed near the lounge on the 3rd floor, and foreign staff and guests were making a huge commotion. It’s fine if they keep it inside, but they kept coming out into the hallway for hours and shouting loudly—there’s no end to how unpleasant it was!

    What a shame!

From evening through morning, there were several male staff members around the front desk, but they did not greet or speak to me at all. Instead, they stared at me, which made me feel uncomfortable. I have stayed here many times, but I feel the quality of service has declined significantly.

I visited with my daughter. The Room was clean, and the view was wonderful. The large public bath had excellent water, and the view from the open-air bath was also great, so I could relax. Dinner was delicious, but eating at the counter while watching the staff rush around made it hard to feel settled. The breakfast bread was amazing. I would like to visit again.

    Our family’s first t...

Our family’s first trip to Shirahama. We visited as a family of four with a 4-year-old and a 6-month-old. The first floor seems renovated and is fairly modern. From the second floor up, it’s a mix of modern and Showa-era style at best; at worst, the age shows through and it feels patched together. The playroom was also a bit underwhelming for a 4-year-old. The nursing room was clean. We stayed in an ocean-view Deluxe Twin Room, but the carpet was old. With the rainy weather, there was a slight musty smell that bothered us (it became less noticeable only after turning on the air purifier). It was hard to tell whether we were supposed to walk in shoes or take them off—honestly, it seems like the carpet should be replaced. On a small steel desk/table with noticeable chipped paint, there was only one welcome rice cracker for some reason. Since you can see at Reservation time that there are at least two adults, shouldn’t there be two? The Room layout is unusual: there’s a bathtub placed behind the sink with no door, and next to it is the typical shower booth. It wasn’t an issue for us as a family, but it could be awkward for friends traveling together. The ocean view itself was fine, but despite what should have been nice white paint on the railing and the underwater observatory tower, there was so much rust that it stood out immediately and felt disappointing. We enjoyed the food overall. There were Aurora salmon and cubed tuna—since we love sashimi, that made us happy. However, the recommended paid mikan highball came in an extremely small mug glass—more like a child-sized soft drink cup—and the portion was far too small. Charging 770 yen for that is unacceptable. Either lower the price or use a larger mug. Also, breakfast onigiri seemed to be made using inexpensive molds like those sold at discount shops, which left me with mixed feelings. Overall, there wasn’t much energy from staff—not particularly efficient either—and with many foreign guests as well, it felt somewhat chaotic. Many Hotels in Shirahama are being rebranded and cosmetically updated to look nicer from the outside while still feeling old inside; this Accommodation also felt dated. That made it even more disappointing because only the first floor looked clean and refreshed. Next time we come to Shirahama, we may look for another Accommodation instead.

It feels a bit dated. I was also concerned about the smell inside the building. I enjoyed the hula dance show.

    I use it occasionally.

The Room was cold during the rainy season. Dinner was just okay; it felt like the quality had declined compared to before. Breakfast was delicious. I was surprised because it was a twin when I made the Reservation on Yahoo, but it was a triple on IKYU. The sunset viewed from the infinity footbath was amazing. Since it was a weekday, there were few guests, so I could relax in the bath, which was nice.

    A Long-Awaited Return Visit

The bath was excellent. The weather wasn’t great, so we couldn’t enjoy the scenery of Shikoku. We’ll plan another visit.

    The inner balcony is...

We stayed for a family trip. We chose this Room because we liked the idea of an inner balcony, but the balcony table was rusty and worn out, and the sofa was dirty, so we didn’t feel like sitting on it. The amenities, as well as the ReFa hair dryer and hair iron, were great. It was disappointing that the windows in the large public bath had dirty film (?) on them, making it hard to see the ocean outside, but there was also a stone sauna and various baths with nice hot water. The Hotel Facility offerings were extensive—an infinity footbath, infinity pool, table tennis, billiards, bouldering, karaoke, and more—so we enjoyed it with our children. Even if we visit again, we won’t choose a Room with an inner balcony.

    About the Onsen

This was a trip with my elderly mother and me. The Room had been beautifully renovated, and all the staff were very kind except for one young man in charge of the poolside. However, I felt the Onsen layout was extremely dangerous for guests with poor eyesight or weak legs. To reach the main indoor bath, you have to go down about 20 steep steps in dim lighting. To get to the open-air bath, there is an additional slippery stone staircase going down, and my mother was very frightened. Other elderly guests said similar things as well, so I sincerely hope this will be improved before someone gets injured.

    We had a relaxing stay.

The property is spacious, with plenty of comfortable sofas to relax on, and a footbath where you can unwind. The meals are delicious, and you can also enjoy the Onsen. The staff are polite and kind. Great value for money—I’ve been staying here almost exclusively lately.

    Standard Twin Room

Overall, the Hotel’s service was good, but since the Accommodation rate was low, I stayed in a Standard Twin Room. However, the Room facilities were outdated, and the Room layout was unusual, which was disappointing. In hindsight, I think it would have been better to make a Reservation for an ocean-view Room even if it cost a little more.

    Seymour

This was my first time staying at Seymour on a trip. Since it was a weekend, the price was just over 20,000 yen, so I wasn’t expecting much. It was fine, but as expected, it was about what you’d imagine. The meal served by the live fish tank— I thought we might get truly fresh-caught fish—but the food really did meet my expectations. As for the breakfast buffet, there wasn’t anything special; there were no seafood or meat dishes, and it felt like a lineup of ordinary items. However, the bath had an amazing location, and I was very satisfied. If I have the chance, I’d like to stay again.

It’s been a while since I last laughed.

After a busy stretch of work, I managed to find time to stay here. The Room was spacious, the bath was large, and there was a great variety of food—both my mood and my appetite were completely satisfied! I laughed with my friends for the first time in a while. The only downside was that there are stairs to the bath, so it may not be very convenient for elderly guests.

The bathroom and shower room smell extremely bad. The odor leaks into the bedroom through a single windowpane. It smells so bad that I can’t sleep. It’s not worth the price.

We stayed in a suite. The balcony was spacious enough to enjoy a 270-degree view, including the sunset and the beach at night. Wonderful! The only downside was that the breakfast did not change from day to day, which may be an issue for guests staying longer. Overall, it’s a good hotel and I would recommend it to everyone.

    When I first entered...

When I first entered the Room, there was an unusual smell. Even after turning on the air purifier, the odor lingered, so I used the air mist in the Room and it went away. The same smell was present again when I woke up in the morning. Most Hotels provide complimentary mineral water, but this Hotel did not. At mealtime we were seated at a table, but it was not a sunken-floor style, so with my bad legs it was difficult. The staff kindly provided a floor chair, which really helped. The view from the Room was nice.

    Thank you very much.

We stayed again as repeat guests. The Room was spacious, and we enjoyed a comfortable stay with a great view of the ocean. The live abalone at dinner was impressively delicious and left a lasting impression. We would love to stay again.

    Great.

There wasn’t a large public bath, but I was happy with the complimentary ice cream and coffee. I also appreciated having a workspace available. The distance from the station was convenient as well. I’d like to stay here again if I have the chance.

    We had a comfortable stay.

Despite the stormy weather, we had a comfortable stay. Being able to watch the rough sea from the open-air bath was a rare experience.

The Facility and the Onsen were very good, but one disappointing point was that all the soups were lukewarm. Instead of being kept warm in proper containers, even the miso soup and other soups were served in pots (I understand this for rice), and I was also concerned that some lids were left open and unattended.

    Everything was great.

This was the best Hotel I have ever stayed at, and I would love to visit again. The staff were kind and attentive, and the service was excellent. The Room was clean, and the Facility offerings were well equipped, making my stay very comfortable. I would definitely like to stay here again.

    I would like a Japanese-Western course dinner.

It was difficult to manage portion sizes, and I couldn’t enjoy my meal in a relaxed way. Breakfast was good, but I wasn’t able to have a leisurely dinner.

I stayed in a smoking Room. The smell didn’t bother me much, but the Facility was quite old. The Room cleaning was not great, and I could see several large dust bunnies in the middle of the hallway. It was my first time experiencing that, and I was surprised. The staff were all kind and courteous. At the dinner buffet, there wasn’t much sashimi, and the meat was tough and hard to chew. For dinner, Enza is recommended. Breakfast was good. I was able to relax, so I’d like to visit again.

    A modernized Resort Hotel

We stayed as a family of four. We booked a deluxe Japanese-Western style Room, and the view (a full ocean view) was amazing. The Facility was spotless and well maintained—everything was excellent. As for the Room, it may have been the best we’ve ever stayed in. Some parts, like the huge public bath that feels almost like an attraction, have that classic all-in-one Resort Hotel atmosphere, but everything has been properly modernized, so it didn’t feel dated at all. Personally, I was especially happy with how well equipped the kids’ area was. Our daughter loved it and went to play there as soon as she woke up in the morning (lol). Many of the staff were from overseas, but they proactively communicated with us in Japanese, which felt very welcoming. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style. Overall, the menu was fairly standard, so I felt it might be a bit underwhelming for those expecting more local specialties or creative dishes. This may sound a bit harsh, but in that case even some Business Hotel breakfast buffets around Niigata offer higher quality. That day we were hit by a strong low-pressure system so we couldn’t explore outside, but we still had more than enough fun just inside the Hotel. Thank you very much.

    Second stay

After staying once in a Western-style ocean-view Room, I was so impressed by the beautiful scenery, the courteous service from the staff, and above all the amazing baths that I was excited to return again this time. In particular, the older male staff members were wonderful both last time and this time, and their warm hospitality left a strong impression. This time, since my previous Room was not available, I made a Reservation for a Japanese-style Room. However, due to my own oversight I selected a smoking Room, and the smell from the smoking floor to the Room was very strong. Even my two children couldn’t tolerate it, so although it was winter we ended up keeping the window open. Also, there was a notice saying that “it may take some time for hot water to come out” in the in-room bath, but even after letting it run for about five minutes it remained cold water only, so we gave up using it. Perhaps because it was Friday, the buffet was very crowded. The shelves were also quite high and out of reach for elementary school children, so I had to get everything for them. The in-room shower was disappointing, but once again the large public bath was truly excellent—spacious with many different types of baths and a calm dim atmosphere that felt very comfortable. The open-air bath especially felt as if it blended into the sea itself, allowing me to relax from the heart. This time there were issues with smoke odor in the Room and problems with hot water for bathing/showering, so we couldn’t relax as much as last time. Still, this remains an Hotel with an appeal that makes me want to come back again. The staff’s polite and warm service is also one of the reasons I want to return to this Hotel.

A Coming-of-Age Celebration Gift for My Niece

In February 2026, four relatives and I stayed here. We arrived later than planned, but still made it in time for dinner. We enjoyed the pufferfish kaiseki at a low round table and took our time. The service was attentive and very pleasant. The Onsen water was excellent, but areas such as the stairways felt spacious yet cold. Because it was generally dimly lit, I felt a bit uneasy due to my poor eyesight. The open-air bath downstairs was wonderful, but the stairs were long and dark as well.

    Staying with My Mother

Thank you for accommodating our request for my elderly mother. The buffet was excellent, and we also had lunch at Enza after check-out—both were very satisfying. The step up to the washbasin area and toilet in the room was a bit of a concern for my mother, but we were able to relax and enjoy the wonderful view, making it a great birthday gift. Thank you very much.

The seasonal course featuring Kue was exceptional. I have enjoyed Kue here several times, but this was my first time trying the Kue Kamameshi, and it was absolutely delicious.
