    Stay here when visiting the Nagara River.

    I considered an Accommodation on the Nagara River because I wanted to show my daughter cormorant fishing. An Onsen Accommodation would have been nice, but we wanted a buffet-style meal, so we chose this Hotel. It was an extremely hot day, and the moment we stepped into the Hotel, the cool air revived us. As a Diamond member benefit, I was happy to receive a one-drink service in the first-floor lounge. The Room we were assigned was on a high floor with a great view, and it was spotless—truly impressive. The dinner buffet isn’t in a huge restaurant, but the quality of the dishes served was excellent, and we enjoyed everything. Drink prices were reasonable for a Hotel, and since it was before cormorant fishing, my daughter and I each enjoyed one drink. We used taxis for round-trip transportation to the cormorant fishing site, which made it very comfortable. Even though it was hot that day, there was a pleasant river breeze, and it helped us forget the daytime heat for a while. Because the river level was low, it seems they didn’t actually catch many ayu, but being able to see energetic cormorants up close made it a great experience. At breakfast, there were many inbound guests early on, but they cleared out quickly, so we were able to eat in peace. The well-known ayu rice porridge was delicious—I went back for seconds several times. The selection of dishes also reflected local flavors well, with various Gifu specialties, which I appreciated. For morning fruit there were oranges, pineapple, and lychees; I’d be happier if there were a few more options. I liked the selection at the shop as well. If I had one request, I would truly appreciate Shuttle Service from the station to the Hotel. As expected of an established Hotel with history behind it, my daughter and I enjoyed an elegant stay.     Rest

    In April, I suffered a compression fracture in an accident. After severe pain, an emergency hospitalization, rehabilitation, and recovering at home, this was my first outing in a long time. It really was just an overnight stay. The Room was spacious and clean, and the furnishings, drinks, and amenities were all great—so I didn’t have to do anything. On top of that, checkout is at 12:00! Being able to take it slow was truly wonderful. However, at the breakfast buffet (7:00–10:00), we went around 8:30. The staff were polite and pleasant, but some items weren’t replenished. It may have just been bad timing, but it was a little disappointing. Everything else was excellent.

    The river-side twin room on the 7th floor did not have a view of cormorant fishing.

    The view of Mt. Kinka across the Nagara River was wonderful. However, the bridge blocked the view, so I couldn’t see the cormorant fishing. For dinner, I chose the beer garden; the all-you-can-drink and all-you-can-eat option with no time limit was great. I was especially happy they had both draft beer and dark beer. I asked a staff member at the beer garden about the cormorant fishing schedule, but they started looking it up on their phone, so I said I would check myself and went back to my Room—by then it had already ended. Fireworks seemed to start around that time as well. Since guests can watch cormorant fishing from the rooftop, I would like you to clearly announce the schedule. At breakfast, we ended up together with a large group of foreign guests who moved around the buffet area carrying big backpacks and shoulder bags, which was concerning—please remind guests about this. Also, please inform guests at check-in when large tour groups will be staying. The Room was spacious and comfortable.

    The Room is spacious, the bed is comfortable, and the interior feels calm and relaxing.

    There is some age-related wear, but the interior still feels like a proper Hotel, and the Room is spacious—we really love it. This time as well, we were able to enjoy a long stay thanks to IKYU’s Diamond benefits, but at check-in we waited a little at the front desk because they seemed to be changing the Room arrangements. This time it wasn’t a river-view Room, but after walking a bit down the corridor and looking out from higher up in the building at the greenery of Mt. Kinka and the sparkling Nagara River, it truly feels soothing. We love this view. From spring through autumn, Ankini is our particular favorite—it’s cool, you don’t get sunburned, and the indoor pool is wonderful! The entire Hotel is quiet and relaxing, so we’ll be back again for another refreshing getaway.

    Good value for the price.

    Check-in took an extremely long time. It took especially long when I tried to pay with a WAON card. The elevator was very slow, and when I tried to use the stairs, they could only be opened in an emergency. Dinner was truly what you’d expect for the price. It felt lacking, but at least it didn’t leave me feeling unwell. However, my partner’s shabu-shabu solid fuel wasn’t working properly and the broth wouldn’t boil, so we ended up eating both portions using my pot. This is the first time I’ve experienced a Hotel like this. I’d rate dinner 1 star, but since breakfast was delicious, it averages out to 2 stars overall. I’ve been satisfied with IKYU Hotels until now, but this time was a disappointment.

    I stayed on the day ...

    I stayed on the day Gifu Prefecture recorded the highest temperatures in The whole country. Tired from sightseeing, I requested an early check-in at 14:00, and they kindly accommodated my request. The Room I stayed in was a corner room with ample space, and the layout was practical, allowing me to relax comfortably. On the other hand, I found the premium lounge somewhat underwhelming. The space was more compact than expected, and both the services and food/drink offerings didn’t quite feel as special as I had hoped. The breakfast buffet tasted good overall and was satisfying, but it was disappointing that there were hardly any local specialties or menu items that reflected Gifu’s regional character. Also, the souvenir corner on the first floor had a fairly standard selection, and I didn’t see products that conveyed either a top-tier Hotel’s unique appeal or a strong sense of local identity. Overall, it was a high-quality Hotel where I could stay comfortably; however, because my expectations for its prestige and brand image were high, my overall satisfaction ended up being slightly reduced.

    Somewhat satisfied overall.

    It was disappointing that there was no large public bath. The guest room and meals were comparable to other Hotels of the same level. The service was good—attentive without being overbearing, respectful of privacy, and responsive when needed. I had a great time chatting with an old friend throughout our stay, and it turned into a wonderful trip.

    The snacks were terrible, which left a bad aftertaste and made the stay unpleasant.

    My husband and I stayed for two nights on our first trip in a while. On the first night we stayed in a Premium Corner Suite, and on the second night in an Imperial Suite. The Room was very nice, but the amenities were at the level of a Business Hotel. The brush and toothbrush felt cheap. That said, it was within an acceptable range. As for dinner, on the first night we had Japanese cuisine—a 14,000 yen course—which was delicious, with seasoning that brought out the natural flavors of the ingredients. On the second day, we had Hida beef for lunch outside, so we wanted something light for dinner and ordered domestic beef pilaf and curry at the Western restaurant on the first floor. The moment the pilaf arrived at our table, I was shocked by how it looked. The beef on top—something like cut steak—was dark and unsettling. When I cautiously tried it, it had an odor and an unpleasantly dry texture. It was so bad that I wondered if it was something meant to be discarded. I couldn’t eat it as-is, so I managed to eat only the pilaf and tried mixing that meat into the curry instead—but by then both of us had lost our appetite, and we left more than half of the curry untouched. After that my stomach felt unsettled and my mood dropped; it made for a terrible second day. We couldn’t even enjoy our Room despite how nice it was, which is truly disappointing. I would like those who cooked this dish and decided it was acceptable to serve to guests—as well as those who brought it—to think from a guest’s perspective once before serving it. Perhaps you were busy preparing for the buffet, but I believe things would have been different with just a little consideration for diners. As this is Miyako Hotel’s Accommodation brand name is well known nationwide; please take greater care going forward. Personally, I don’t think I will use your services again.

    It was comfortable.

    Early check-in was not available, but they upgraded our Room, and we were able to relax and enjoy a comfortable stay. The view of the Nagara River from the bathroom was also wonderful. Breakfast included Gifu-specific dishes and was very delicious. We couldn’t use the fitness facilities this time, but next time we would definitely like to use the sauna as well. Thank you very much.

    Gifu City’s Finest

    I stayed here overnight for a meeting in Gifu City. Both the Hotel restaurant and nearby restaurants serving Hida beef were excellent, and I would like to stay again.

    Nagura River View

    A calm city Hotel along the Nagara River. The view from the rooms is excellent, and the overall atmosphere feels reassuring. The buffet was somewhat crowded at times and briefly felt less relaxed, but overall I was satisfied.

    I feel completely refreshed—both physically and mentally—and I’m very satisfied!

    I prefer a Hotel that doesn’t feel overly attentive, and I love the classic, hotel-like interior design. This time, thanks to the IKYU Diamond benefits, I was able to relax and enjoy a long stay from check-in to check-out. Thank you again for the lounge floor—I truly appreciate it. It’s one of my favorite Hotels, so I compare two sites and make a Reservation with whichever Plan is the best deal at the time. This time I received a dinner discount voucher at check-in, but since the weather was nice, I already had another Reservation outside and didn’t use it. I especially love Ankini, and I make sure not to disturb regular fitness club members while enjoying the quieter pool, tent sauna, and spa. After a pleasantly tiring workout, I slept well and felt completely refreshed both physically and mentally.

    The food was excellent.

    We had a wonderful time. Dinner was at “Kappo Inokuchi.” Since they host only one party per day, we were a little nervous at first, but we enjoyed pleasant conversation with the chef and a heartfelt meal—it was the most fulfilling dining experience we’ve ever had. If we have the chance, we’d love to visit again.

    I stayed here while taking the entrance exam at Gifu University. The breakfast and dinner were delicious, and I had a very comfortable stay. From the room facing the Nagara River, I could see Gifu Castle beautifully illuminated, which I think will be a wonderful memory for my family who supported me during the exam. I also truly appreciated the thoughtful hospitality of the staff.

    They were very kind.

    They were very kind and helpful even while it was snowing. The Room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. Since we chose a river-view Room, we had a beautiful view of Mount Kinka covered in snow. The meals were also excellent, and the morning buffet felt like a luxury experience, with omelets cooked right in front of us.

    A Comfortable Stay

    I was impressed by the view of the Nagara River from the room. It was quiet at night, and I was able to rest well. Dinner at the Chinese restaurant Sichuan was also very delicious. The staff were kind as well. When I visit Gifu Prefecture, I would definitely like to stay here again.

    All the more disappointing because I was really looking forward to it.

    The Reviews were great, and the property was ranked in an award list on other sites. Since I could stay at a good price during IKYU’s sale week, I chose this Hotel thinking it would be a step up from the Hotels I usually stay at when traveling solo. The floor was very luxurious, and seeing the Ukai fountain right after entering made for an exciting start. However, I left my luggage before check-in, and when I came to pick it up, it was handed to me and then I was simply left there. When I went to the front desk myself, another new foreign staff member assisted me. Normally, wouldn’t staff continue with the front desk process after handing over luggage? The woman who had taken my luggage earlier was also behind the counter and would have known that my check-in hadn’t been handled yet, so it left me feeling unsettled. I fully understand that upgrading my Room was a kind gesture, but as soon as I entered the Room, I saw it was a twin even though I had made a Reservation for a single. That made me anxious, so I called the front desk. Since this was a solo trip, I had been looking forward to enjoying a nicer single Room than usual; instead, being alone in a Room with two beds felt uncomfortable for me. This is just my personal impression and may be selfish, but at least during check-in I wish you had mentioned that my Room type had been changed. Also a small point: I couldn’t figure out how to use the shower at all and would have appreciated some instructions. I know it’s partly my fault for setting expectations on my own and then feeling disappointed, but honestly it ended up being an uneasy trip. I considered writing this in a feedback letter but will share it here instead. Even though it’s far from the station, the location is excellent—right by the Nagara River and close to Gifu Castle and Kawaramachi—and both inside and outside of the Hotel were wonderful with plenty to see. If some of these small details improved further, it would be even better.

    Best value for money

    We stayed for one night as a family of three. The free fitness room was well-equipped with a gym, sauna, and spa, which was excellent. The floor we stayed on also had access to a lounge with a great selection of drinks. One downside was that the extra bed was very basic. Other than that, it exceeded our expectations for the price.     I occasionally stay at this accommodation as a treat for myself and to refresh. I mainly enjoy the pool, gym, tent sauna, large public bath, and sauna. This time, thanks to the Diamond Member benefits, I was able to check in early and check out late, allowing me to fully relax and enjoy my stay. Thank you very much. I especially love the lobby here. It’s spacious and offers an extraordinary experience. I look forward to visiting again!

    Check-out Time, Pool, Gym, and Other Facilities

    With a 12:00 checkout, I was able to leisurely enjoy the hotel's facilities. I used the pool and bath, and both were much cleaner than I had imagined. The pool provided a relaxing experience. The bath was spacious enough, and I thought it would be great to use it after checking in the day before as well. The amenities were also very satisfying. Next time, I am considering staying with the purpose of enjoying the hotel facilities. I rated service as 3 because there was no doorman, which caused some confusion regarding luggage handling and parking location. While I understand this may be due to staff shortages, first impressions upon arrival are important if possible.

    Stunning views

    The Nagara River is beautiful, and Gifu Castle, which I saw for the first time, looked stunning atop the mountain. The night illumination was also lovely. Since we had children with us, we couldn't use the pool, jacuzzi, or sauna, which was a bit disappointing, but couples might enjoy them. Perhaps because it was an affordable Plan? The amenities felt similar to those of a Business Hotel. The spacious rooms and atmosphere are pleasant, making it a great place to relax.

    The 12:00 checkout time was very convenient. The Hotel's Facility was clean. However, the breakfast was not very tasty; perhaps reducing the variety and focusing on improving the quality would be better.

    I had a relaxing stay.

    Stayed for one night with my dog. We had two connected twin rooms, which provided a comfortable and spacious stay even with a pet. The plan did not include dinner, so we considered dining outside but found no appealing options nearby. Instead, we opted for the buffet restaurant in the hotel, which turned out to be very delicious—a great choice in the end. While it is slightly costly, considering there are limited options for hotels that allow pets, this hotel is highly recommended for those traveling with pets as you can enjoy your time together. As for the Onsen bath rating of 3 stars, it was due to the lack of a large public bath. However, the private bath itself was spacious and clean, so I was satisfied overall.

    Enjoyed.

    I stayed for one night to enjoy the renewed Sichuan cuisine. The course meal was incredibly delicious, especially the shark fin soup, which I would love to have again. The next day, I enjoyed the gym, sauna, and golf simulator. The breakfast was also satisfying, with delicious rice and coffee. Considering the rising prices, it was wonderful to have such a satisfying Hotel stay at this price.

    It was a very splendid Hotel.

    It was an impressive hotel beyond what you would expect for the accommodation cost. The room was upgraded, offering great views of Nagara River and Gifu Castle. Breakfast included a variety of delicious options, such as Gifu's specialty ayu rice porridge. The front desk staff were very kind and provided detailed directions to Gifu Castle. The only reason for giving 4 stars is that adjusting the hot water in the bathroom and sink was a bit difficult, and the faucet required tightening firmly to stop the water completely. However, I would definitely stay here again if I have another chance to visit Gifu.

    Thank you for accommodating us even though we arrived earlier than the check-in time. The beer garden during the pleasant weather was absolutely delightful. It was incredibly relaxing, completely different from beer gardens in the city center. Thank you very much!
