  I had a very relaxing time.

  I have visited Atsumi Onsen many times, but this was my first stay at this accommodation. The detached room faced the garden and featured a sunken kotatsu and an onsen bath, allowing for a truly relaxing experience. While the view from the bathroom window wasn't great, opening it fully created a semi-open-air feel where you could enjoy the breeze while soaking in the onsen. Having a second gathering around the sunken kotatsu while admiring the garden was delightful. The staff were attentive to every detail, and fresh flowers placed throughout the room and facility caught my eye. The meals were also very delicious. However, I felt that adding some "newness" or "innovation" might enhance the experience further. If there were signature dishes unique to Tachibanaya that guests could look forward to, it might attract more repeat visitors. I was particularly pleased with receiving "welcome tamakonnyaku" instead of just a welcome drink! It would be nice if some rooms offered an all-inclusive option as well. Regarding facilities, while there seem to be renovated rooms and areas within the property, there is still an overall sense of age in some parts. I hope attention is given to even minor details (for example, lingering tobacco smells from when smoking may have been allowed previously or worn-out areas that could pose safety risks—I mentioned these during checkout). Lastly—and this is not an issue with the ryokan itself but rather with other guests—I noticed poor manners in shared spaces like leaving cushions scattered around or using them with wet hair after bathing, leaving trash behind, or letting children run around noisily without supervision in public areas like the newly renovated lobby space which otherwise seemed very comfortable. Public space etiquette is important for everyone’s enjoyment! Regardless of these points, I absolutely want to visit this ryokan again someday—next time staying in a room with an open-air bath!

  A must-visit accommodation again

  The shuttle service staff, front desk staff, and dining service staff were all excellent. The meals, featuring local ingredients unique to Yamagata, were highly satisfying. This is an accommodation I would definitely like to visit again.
